"A chef with a fine CV to his name (including Lucas Carton and Anne - Sophie Pic) has taken over the kitchen of this restaurant, and quickly made his mark! With a motivated team supporting him, he cooks classic cuisine, adding modern touches, and the result is a hit." - Michelin Inspector

Le Vallon de Valrugues Hotel Spa & Villas (Saint Remy de Provence, French Riviera / Provence) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Saint-Rémy-de-Provence has more than a few charming places to stay, but Le Vallon de Valrugues & Spa, housed in a Greco-Roman-style manor in a forested park just outside the village, might be the most luxurious. No one’s reinventing the wheel here — with its formal restaurant, elegant guest rooms, and afternoon tea service, the hotel is the epitome of Provençal refinement — but there’s something to be said for sticking with the classic approach." - Tablet Hotels

We had a lovely stay here at the end of August. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were great with super comfy beds and quality bedding. The pool was big and the garden setting was pretty with nice comfortable loungers and towels. The food was great and there was a good selection at breakfast. There was plenty of parking and it was an easy walk into St Remy. I hope that we can return to this lovely hotel.

We stayed at Le Vallon de Valrugues Hotel Spa & Villas, which is officially a 5-star hotel, but honestly, it feels more like a 3-star experience. The service was generally good, but nothing exceptional — simply what you’d expect from a hotel in this category. The facilities were decent, although the hotel feels a bit outdated. The carpets and lamps look like they’re from another era, and the AC unit in our room hadn’t been cleaned in what seemed like years. Some details felt neglected, which was disappointing for a 5-star property. The real issue came after we checked out. The hotel correctly charged us for the full amount at checkout. However, two days later, we noticed the same amount had been charged again. When we contacted the hotel, they dismissed it as a bank error and showed no willingness to investigate. Naturally, I checked with my bank, and they confirmed the problem was on the hotel’s side. It took several days to get the duplicate charge refunded, and throughout that time, the hotel’s communication was nonexistent. They showed no interest in resolving the issue or even following up. For a hotel that claims to be five stars, this level of service and attention to detail — both during and after the stay — was far from what we expected.

The hotel was beautiful and in a lovely area. For families it was great, especially with young children. The playroom and play area are perfect. Sadly the staff really let this hotel down. Poor service, rude, lack of care or attention. I did give feedback on my last day to management who said they were aware standards had slipped. Sadly this did not make an impact to the end of my stay where staff continued to be incompetent

The concierge Julian was so so good, really knew his stuff and gave us the best recommendations whether it was for an itinerary or restaurants. The valets, the receptionist were all very friendly and polite. The place is beautiful. The rooms could do with a kettle and some tea bags and milk sachets.

This has to be one of the great small Hotels of the world. Set up on the hilltop above St Remy and surrounded by stunning gardens. We arrived as a family of 6 on a Provence bike tour and the staff couldn’t help us enough despite the car park being full or Porsche, super hi end Audi and Range Rovers. The grounds are amazing , barely a leaf out of place and topiary gardens that you look over at breakfast are above and beyond. Good size deep pool. Expensive but you get what you pay for and it’s worth it.

We had a lovely and relaxing holiday here. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is a charming small luxury retreat in the countryside. It’s a bit of a walk from the centre of Saint-Rémy, but the free shuttle service makes it easy to get around. The swimming pool was quiet, clean, and a perfect place to unwind. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful stay in Provence!

Google
A very charming and calm hotel. Very convenient for the town . Rooms need a little refurb on electrics etc but more than compensated by superb service e from really friendly and efficient staff. Great place to go on cycle trips. Breakfasts excellent as is the dining room

Nice location and grounds, but the rooms were so disappointing. Tiny and poorly designed. The food was subpar and the service was not easy to come by. We left feeling like we wished we’d stayed elsewhere. Plus, the spa was so outdated and unsophisticated. The treatments were not good and not relaxing. We felt very unsatisfied with our experience overall.

Yelp
Dirty - they fold back dirty towels and place them on the racks Room phone did not work during whole stay although i reported it 2 times. Unsecured wifi caused lots of spam text and emails I had a change my drink 3 times, they did not know how to make a simple martini. And more hick ups. Not worth the price.

Yelp
Le Vallon is a luxury resort in St Remy (Provence, France). We stayed recently with mixed results. On the positive side, our villa was clean, spacious, and beautiful. It was perfect to lounge around the pool and soak up the southern France sun. It was expensive, but not out of step with competitors. Shuttle service connected the villa with the "main campus" resort and provided easy access to St. Remy, itself a charming town and perfect for a stay in the south. Room service was limited but still provided options for in-villa dining. Breakfasts were easily the best. The downside, however, is that, even with the shuttle, the villa is disconnected from the resort and too far to walk to town. We should have simply rented a great house in St. Remy. Disappointment over the isolation was eased because, frankly, there was hardly anything drawing us to the resort. The restaurants are average at best, the gym is an abject embarrassment, and. . . that's it. There is really nothing else at the resort. Furnishings are tired and in desperate need of a full facelift. The concierge was extremely unimpressive - not particularly responsive and a real challenge to work with. My advice is simply to rent a house in St. Remy.
