Les Haras (Strasbourg, Grand Est) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A setting close to the heart of Strasbourg, just across the river from the old city center, doesn’t stop Les Haras from offering a touch of quasi-rural tranquility — along with some of the most distinctive hotel interiors in town. The 18th-century edifice that once housed France’s royal stables has been transformed by Parisian designers Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku into a unique and uniquely stylish high-end design hotel." - Tablet Hotels

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Les Haras in Strasbourg. The room was absolutely amazing with a beautiful terrace overlooking the courtyard. While the rooms are a little on the smaller side, they’re more than good enough considering the balcony, which really makes up for it. The location is perfect, just a 5-minute walk from the main square, yet peaceful and tucked away. The hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant adds to the incredible atmosphere, and the underground spa is super cool with serious Batman-like vibes, dark, atmospheric, and very unique. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for something special, well-located, and unforgettable.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Quiet and luxurious. Tastefully designed rooms and decor. Very high attention to detail. Friendly and efficient multilingual staff. Very comfortable beds. The spa was also very thoughtfully designed, I loved the cold plunge and the large pool. The brasserie is not to be missed. I hope to return again next year.

We were in town for the Christmas markets. Our room price was about €2200 for 3 nights. We visited the spa and had excellent massages. The spa hard facilities were modern, beautifully designed and clean, the amenities were non existent. No robes , slippers, products for after shower, ample towels etc. Our room was a suite in the newly constructed building. The room was disappointing- terrible lighting ( we had to use the tv for light at night) , hand held unmounted shower, uncomfortable stained couch, elevator was out of service, threadbare worn hallway carpet, Many of the staff were fantastic- cordial and helpful. The location was great and the breakfast food was very good. Unfortunately, the overall hospitality elements of making a guest feel looked after, comfortable and welcome fell short. The high price only highlighting the lack of attention to detail.

Open and Honest Review of Our Stay at Les Haras Strasbourg I usually focus on positive reviews, but in this case I feel it’s important to share our experience openly. We booked Les Haras because it is presented as one of the best hotels in Strasbourg. We were looking forward to a relaxing, pampering weekend with a beautiful spa and great facilities. Unfortunately, the stay didn’t fully meet those expectations. Check-in & Arrival The reception area is surprisingly small for a hotel of this size. When we arrived, it was crowded and somewhat chaotic. We received our keys but weren’t given clear directions. Only later did we learn that a bellboy was available to assist with luggage. Our rooms were located not in the main building, but in the newer annex across the street. To reach it, you have to leave the property, cross the street, and enter a second building. The positive side: the spa and breakfast area are located in this newer building. Spa Experience & Restrictions This was our biggest disappointment. At check-in we were told that each room includes only one hour of spa access per day, booked in time slots. This was not visible in our Booking.com reservation. Because we didn’t have time to visit the spa on the first day, we were allowed two hours on the second day — but even then, the spa was overcrowded. There is only one sauna, one steam room, one pool, and a single relaxation room. Most loungers in the relaxation room were taken or “reserved” with towels, even when empty. The overall atmosphere was not relaxing. Restaurant Availability We were never able to eat at the hotel restaurant because it was fully booked at all times. It seems that external guests or sheer capacity constraints mean hotel guests don’t have priority. We ended up eating outside, which was fine, but disappointing given the hotel’s reputation. Layout Issues After leaving the spa, I accidentally ended up in the main building and had to walk through the street in my bathrobe to get back to the annex where our rooms were located. It makes for a funny story afterwards, but in the moment it was far from ideal. What Was Genuinely Great Breakfast was excellent — good quality, good variety , and well organised. The staff throughout the hotel were truly lovely: friendly, attentive, and warm, from breakfast staff to housekeeping. The rooms were clean, modern, quiet, and nicely designed. Our shower was a bit unusual, but overall the room setup was comfortable. Overall Les Haras has real strengths — great breakfast, very kind staff, clean and modern rooms — but the overall guest experience didn’t align with the price or the hotel’s reputation. The limited and crowded spa access, the small and hectic reception area, and the building layout all reduced the feeling of ease and relaxation we were hoping for.

Located in the former Strasbourg national stud, a set of 18 century buildings in la petite France just outside the historical centre, this is really a very stylish hotel. Our room was in the more recently renovated part, very light, beautiful materials (wood, bamboo and leather), well designed lighting, very comfortable bed and pillows, high quality linen. What is not to like? The service was charming too and breakfast varied and delicious. We will be back! Breakfast buffet was delicious and very varied with some excellent Alsatian cakes...

The Hotel has a very special vibe. We visited in winter and it did not disappoint. But much more than the vibe, the service was absolutely exceptional. We were here for only one night and thanks to the great service of all the employees we were able to make the most of our time in Strasbourg.

Perfect from start to finish. Modern, spacious and quite room - perfect and very friendly service - only minutes by foot away from erverything you'd like to see in the old town - and an impressive sight by itself. Car is being taken care of and you wont need one for a perfect weekend in Strassbourgh. 👍🏻

We were in the annex building; our room was beautifully furnished but felt too large and sparse as if furniture are missing. Sadly it also smelled like cat pee. We loved the spa, it is absolutely beautiful and we had the space to ourselves.
