Hotel Liberty Offenburg duplicate (Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Hotel Liberty occupies, with dry humor, a onetime prison in Offenburg, just a few miles east of the French border. Now it’s a high-concept design hotel, its stylish public spaces defined by massive windows, reclaimed materials, and statement lighting. Rooms emerge from combinations of former cells, preserving period details like vaulted arches and elaborate locks on the doors. The bar is the place to be come sundown every night, every detail a conversation starter." - Tablet Hotels

"Turning a prison into a luxury hotel is no small task. It helps that Offenburg’s former penal institution, which comprises a pair of simple but elegant brick buildings that date back to the mid-19th century, was somewhat aesthetically pleasing — and it’s essential, too, that the hotel’s designers were interested in preserving some of the prison’s character instead of completely overhauling the place. After careful planning and renovations, the sleek Hotel Liberty opened in 2017." - Tablet Hotels

Very pleasant family stay on November 10. There was an incident on arrival with our room and the receptionist present solved it right away. Thank you very much to that girl for her efficiency, we enjoyed the hotel which is amazing and rest fully.

Fantastic luxues hotel with nice rooms and good working airconditioning. The people at the hotel are very kind and helpful. Breakfast small but high quality. Nice terras to rest and have a drink. Parking at the hotel is a little to expensive. For the location would 10Euro more than enough.

This is a late review. We stayed in this stunning hotel in December 2023 and enjoyed the added bonus of the Christmas market in town. The hotel itself is exceptional. The concept is so unique. Our room felt luxurious and spacious, but it was cold. Reception said that it takes a while for the heating to warm up, but the next day, the temperature was the same. The set menu was really delicious and well presented. The only letdown was the lack of serving staff. Hence, we had to keep asking for things. However, this could have been because of the pre Christmas dinner rush. The restaurant was really busy, which was nice to see. We had a lovely stay with the exception of checkout, where the receptionist basically accused me of not paying for my dog. When I told her that the payment for my dog should have been on my bill because my dog was in my booking, she said he wasn't, and I needed to pay separately. This was not an issue because I stood at reception with my dog, and obviously, everyone in the queue could see him. It was just quite embarrassing. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for a unique experience.

This a beautiful hotel with creative, very modern accommodations. It has been fully restored from an ancient prison, and there are humorous reminders that once upon a time, you did not have the liberty to leave. A tiny toy mouse on the bed is there to share any bread crumbs. The gourmet restaurant is amazing. The staff is cheerful and welcoming.

We stayed three nights in the rooftop suite. Absolutely beautiful decor with attention to details and immaculately maintained. The mix of history with a modern touch makes for a truly unique hotel. Parking for our electric vehicle made charging easy for a flat $20 per charge. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was delicious!

It is an amazing place to stay at. The rooms are exciting, comfy and very nice. Made out of two or more old cells. The hotel itself is a old prison from 1848. With some of it original parts still used as props. Very luxurious feeling and very high quality. Has some interesting history to it, if you are interested. The staff and service is excellent! They treated us with high respect and did everything perfectly. Worth every €. The breakfast was good as well. You could choose between 4 different breakfasts with different styles. Fruit, bread, eggs etc. Would come back here any day.

Needed a stop around this area and chose Offenburg and hotel Liberty. Didn't have any expectations but my god was it a nice place! The rooms are old prison cells renovated with very exclusive standard. Lots of charm and excellent service. Staff was amazing! We had to leave early and asked to get our breakfast take away which was not something they usually offered. They made it amazingly! Will definitely stay here again when traveling in this part of Germany!
