Hotel Luxembourg Parc | Best places to stay in Paris

"Overlooking the glorious, statue-filled Luxembourg Gardens, this traditional Left Bank hotel is a romantic setting for first-time visitors looking to walk to all the main sights. You’ll find a bucket list of stuff within a twenty-minute stroll, including the Louvre and the Latin Quarter, and once you’ve had your fill of sightseeing, the hotel’s bar, quaint inner courtyard and gym, are perfect for letting off steam. The classic French breakfast will set you for the day ahead, and a myriad of excellent restaurants are also a mere stone’s throw away, with the friendly staff happy to make recommendations. This is a quaint and well located hotel with access to the metro and local attractions. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff were very pleasant. The major downfall of this hotel is how incessantly loud it is. If anybody walks around you can hear it and you can hear it loudly. All night doors were slamming or people were talking in the hallway until the wee hours of the morning. Noise cancelling are an absolute must.

The hotel was everything we wanted for our week-long visit to Paris. The beautiful room was spacious and sunny. Location by the park was spot on. The front desk excelled with practical advice and restaurant recommendations. We were never inconvenienced so much as once by cleaning staff, street noise or any other potential mishap. The place did justice to a wonderful city.

Get the RER B train for the direct line from CDG airport which leaves every 10 mins, get your ticket from the tourist information office just before you go up the stairs to the train platform, costs €31 return, journey takes about 45 mins, get off at Luxembourg station, walk through or around the parc for 9 mins to the hotel.||Saint-Sulpice metro stop is 6 mins walk from the hotel.||The hotel is an old style small boutique hotel, check in is from 14.00, however the hotel had the room ready for us when we arrived at 11.00, thank you! Check out by 12.00. We had a Classic double room, 16sqm, comfy queen bed, deep bath, shower head & flexible shower hose, robes, slippers, hairdryer, hair & body gel, body lotion, tissues, minibar / fridge, wifi, safe, aircon / heating, TV (inc BBC1 & 2), loads of clothes hangars & drawer space, iron & board available, there is NO water or coffee & tea in the room, there is an optional buffet breakfast from 7.30-11.00, costs €8pp if you book through the hotel’s website, €15 otherwise (eggs & bacon served to you is €5 extra!), a bar is located in the lobby, a computer is available (inc for printing) in the library, the hotel has a luggage storage room.||There is a Monoprix supermarket 10 mins walk from the hotel on Blvd Saint-Michel for any groceries, wine, etc you may want.||There are bars and restaurants close by. Many bars all over Paris have happy hours from 5-7. It is about 20 mins walk to Notre-Dame and the river Seine.

My wife and I began our honeymoon in Paris at this charming hotel. It was truly the perfect start to our vacation. Thank you to the staff for the 5 star hospitality and thoughtfulness. We would eventually travel for 3 weeks in the Côte d'Azur, which was lovely but we were always thinking about our lovely stay at Hôtel Luxembourg Parc!

The location was perfect however there is no view of the Luxembourg gardens. |The bedroom was tastefully decorated and the bed, linen and towels were lovely and everything was spotlessly clean. There was a step in shower over a very small bath with plastic curtains..not ideal.|The balcony was great but very tatty and I loved the fact the windows opened from the bathroom so I could chat to my husband while he had his pipe (strange for some).||We could not understand why there was no coffee or tea making facilities or alcohol in the fridge. Why for a 4 star hotel. My husband ordered a bottle of red each night which cost us €40 each..ridiculous. |The staff were lovely and helpful however the manageress, let's say, did not ooze warmth.|There is a peculiar musty smell.

I don't know quite where to start reviewing this gem of a hotel. The friendliest and most helpful staff, all of whom fluent in English, a very convenient location, a quiet well furbished room, reasonable rates, and fantastic service, are only some of the positives. We only discovered the hotel a few years ago, and wish we has known about it earlier. We visit Paris at least once or twice a year, and have stayed at several upmarket hotels in St Germain, over the years. This one beats them all. Situated opposite the Luxembourg gardens, and close to metro stations and bus stops, with good bistros, as well as a great bakery nearby, it is easy walking distance down to the Seine, should you feel like stretching your legs. If you want to give yourself a real treat, book the junior suite, if it is available. Unfortunately, there is only one, but it is so special we have planned the timing of our next stay at the hotel around the opportunity of a reservation of eight nights in the suite. We recently stayed in one of the courtyard rooms, which I would recommend for peace and quiet. As a very seasoned international traveller, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. On our recent trip earlier in April, we also stayed at more expensive hotels in Amsterdam and Bordeaux. However, in both cases, Hotel Luxembourg Parc outperformed the larger luxury hotels, belonging to internationally respected hotel groups. For personalised service, and a feeling of home from home, this hotel would be hard to beat.

Google
Great location to the Seine and Metro..perhaps a 15 minute walk but rather tatty rooms with a mouldy smell. The bed linen and towels were fluffy and everything was very clean. There was a step into a shower over a rather high, narrow bath with a plastic curtain. Not comfortable to shower in. There is no view of the Luxembourg gardens but of a high fence. There are no tea/coffee facilities provided and there is no wine in the mini bar. My husband went downstairs and at a cost of €40 had a very average red. ( the staff said it would not cost much). No shampoos or complimentary water. The balcony is huge and my husband loved smoking his pipe there but the furniture and plants are so run down. The staff are very helpful and lovely but the manageress does not exude friendliness or warmth.

This elegant boutique hotel across from Jardin du Luxembourg has the ambiance of a stately Parisian home. The reception area is warm and inviting, as is the staff, particularly Fabienne and Christian who went out of their way to make sure our stay was a dream. The breakfast room is bright and cheery, and the wood-paneled library is the perfect place for an evening cocktail. Our room was cozy and well-lit with plenty of space for two. Loved looking out our open window at the park's leafy green trees. This was our third stay and we will certainly return!

Yelp
Cute and quaint but NOT my cup of tea. I did not enjoy the spiders, fruit flies, mold, hair and dirty dingy space on my first trip to Paris. The manager was condescending and rude, minimizing my severe spider allergy and said, "it was a little spider...and this isn't Africa" after I told her about landing in the hospital after a bite from a spider I never saw when in Ghana. The comment was xenophobic and hostile. I told her that I was not allergic to Africa but to spiders!! Disgusting, vile attitude. I expect more with the audacity of privilege and the high ratings. Low Thank you to C and L who helped from the front desk.

Yelp
Very friendly and helpful staff! We had to leave early before the breakfast was ready and the concierge eagerly made us some tea and coffee to compensate, which was very nice of him! All around a pleasant experience and I absolutely recommend. As far as notes on the room, bed was comfortable and it was furnished well, nothing to complain about. Bathroom was beautiful with the marble, one of the reasons my wife chose the hotel.

Yelp
Great location near Luxembourg Gardens. Our room was spacious and bright with a view of the gardens. The hotel is walking distance to the Luxembourg Museum which features Impressionistic art, Pierre Herme macaroons and pastries, Cafe de Flore, Les Deux Magots, and St Germain de Pres. Staff was attentive and very friendly. The hotel was also voted one of the "most romantic hotels" by Trip Advisor. We would stay here again as we loved the location and slept well every night! We paid about $300 USD per night.

Yelp
This elegant hotel is located across the street from the residential side of Luxembourg Gardens and Museum offering a truly Parisian experience. The hotel is utterly charming and lovely with sumptuous rooms and an extremely helpful, kind staff. I only wish I had found this perfect hotel on my previous trips to Paris. Hotel Luxembourg Parc is now my go to hotel in Paris!

Yelp
We stayed here for our first time in Paris. Small and quaint but beautifully decorated. Staff is amazing and helpful in making recommendations as well as making dinner reservations. Breakfast a little pricey but excellent quality. Marble in bathrooms are beautiful. Close to many restaurants and shops. Like a home away from home!

Yelp
What an amazing hotel, location and staff!! After our experience we can completely understand why this is a top 30 rated hotel in Paris. We were in Paris for our 10 year anniversary and initially staying at a different place which didn't meet our needs or expectations. After researching alternate locations we literally walked in to the Hotel Luxembourg Parc and asked if they had a room for 4 nights. Not only did they offer us a great room, but they also gave us a great rate. The staff (especially Patricia and Daniel) were extremely helpful and made our stay memorable and special. We'd have no hesitation of recommending this place to friends and family and we'd definitely stay there any time we're in Paris.

Yelp
We stayed here for our 10 year anniversary for 4 days! The staff is extremely friendly and english speaking! All the amenities one would need for a stay in Paris where you spend all of your time walking and exploring the city. Located directly across from the Luxembourg Park which is a gorgeous park for a walk, run.... very romantic...there is the prettiest cobblestone alleyway located directly around the corner that is stunning. An easy walk to all the cafes, the museums including the Lourve which is amazing.... buy your tickets ahead of time and you will speed through the line on the left into the museum! The best part of this hotel was the fact that it is located so close to everything but was amazingly quiet at night. Open the window and enjoy watching people walking by on the street and the fresh air. We also ordered coffee service to our room with milk and they brought it right up to us. There are little fridges in the rooms with soda and water which are really nice when you need a drink. We didn't spend a ton of time in the hotel as we were out exploring but we loved the hotel and would go back again in an instant! Very romantic and very accommodating! Because there are so many cafe's I would recommend you do breakfast as a nearby cafe vs. the hotel is my only recommendation! Sit OUTSIDE and people watch. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Our experience was top notch and just what we were looking for as this was our first time to Paris. We were across the street from a beautiful park and a 10-15 min walk to the river. If the walk was too far, we used Uber. We upgraded to a Superior Room allowing us plenty of room for the two of us. Bathroom was very large. The front reception staff was excellent. They were also our bartenders. Thank you to Charles and Louis for your wonderful hospitality.

Yelp
Awesome hotel!! Very small and intimate. Spend a little more and upgrade your room - it's worth it. Come on, you're in Paris! Great location and great staff who can recommend or arrange anything you want to do. Nice bar in lobby to enjoy a drink, beautiful library with fireplace to drink and/or read and a nice sunny room for breakfast. Be sure to have dinner at Philippe right outside the door and Le Bon Saint Porcain right down the cobblestone street (make reservations at the front desk when you check in).
