11 Best Hotels in Seville

"Spanish boutique hotel group Mercer—specialists in remodeling historic buildings into smart accommodations—converted this late 19th-century mansion in the El Arenal neighborhood into a polished, elegant five-star hotel in 2016. Seville-based architecture firm Cruz y Ortiz restored the period building, maintaining characterful original features such as the marble spiral staircase. With just 11 bedrooms, the atmosphere is palatial yet intimate and the cool colors of the space create a stylish look, tastefully complemented by modern furniture pieces. Also in Seville is its larger sister property, EME Catedral Mercer, whose rooftop bar is a popular drinks spot with knockout views of Seville’s spectacular cathedral. Address: C. de Castelar, 26, Casco Antiguo, 41001 Sevilla, Spain" - Agnish Ray

Hotel Mercer Sevilla (Sevilla, Andalusia) 11 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If Andalusia feels reminiscent of North Africa, it’s no accident. Sevilla’s got Moorish roots, just like Marrakech. And if a hotel like the Mercer Hotel Sevilla feels a bit like a riad, the inside-out courtyard residences of North Africa, it’s not hard to imagine why. Of course the Andalusian style is unique — there’s a certain ornateness to the architecture along with a simplicity to the décor, and more of a willingness to let that bright sunlight stream in and illuminate these white-on-white spaces. But in the end it’s a remarkably similar concept: an air of sequestered luxury around a beautiful central patio, and a surprisingly small scale, just four rooms and eight suites." - Tablet Hotels

Mercer Seville Hotel | Best places to stay in Seville, Andalusia

"Since it opened in 2016, this 12-room hotel on a quiet street in the central El Arenal district has earned a reputation as Seville’s top, no-expense-spared, luxury bolthole. From its former incarnation, the 19th-century Casa Palacio Castelar, there’s a marble-paved patio courtyard, now glassed, and a welcoming lounge with a splashing fountain. A magnificent sweeping stair (and a lift) lead up to the contemporary rooms and suites, many of which have private terraces. None, however, can match the guests-only roof terrace with its pool, bar and solarium for unforgettable views over Seville, especially at sunset. Sip perfect cocktails in the FIZZ bar, and enjoy creative  Andalusian cuisine in the hotel’s sleek Maria Luisa restaurant. It’s a lovely hotel for a special occasion or just to feel spoiled by the superb service. " - Dana Facaros

We spent 5 nights at the hotel and had a fabulous time. The staff were very attentive and went above and beyond. Hugo’s cocktails were amazing and Pablo the concierge was extremely helpful. It is a beautifully decorated space and the rooftop pool was perfect after a day exploring. It is very well located but out of the way of the busy areas, so it was a very peaceful. Would recommend.

Charming boutique hotel on a quiet street. It offers excellent customer service, well appointed rooms and prime location. Rooftop pool is a bonus! We did a Spain, Portugal trip and the whole family agreed that this was our favorite hotel. If we find ourselves in Seville again, we look forward to returning to the Mercer Hotel.

This is a wonderfully small boutique hotel on a quiet street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Everything was lovely. We spent our Siestas on the roof cooling down in the pool. I would love to stay here again. Thank you.

An exceptional stay at Mercer Hotel Sevilla! This beautifully restored palace combines historic charm with modern luxury. The rooms are spacious, featuring original architectural elements and high ceilings, complemented by state-of-the-art amenities. The rooftop pool and bar offer a sleek retreat, and the on-site restaurant serves amazing cuisine. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff—friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful, providing personalized attention throughout my 4-night stay. Highly recommended!

We stayed in this Top Class hotel for 3 nights in June. I really recommed this hotel. The hotel only have 20 rooms for this it is very quite everywhere. The staff is really helpful, they treat you like family, the room is perfect, a lot of space, comfortable bed for 2 people+ the room is very clean. The concierge Pablo gave us grateful tipps where to go for sightseeing and good authentic spanish restaurants near by. We are sure to stay again in this hotel. Thanks a lot again to the staff for this unforgetable stay.

After a long travel day arrived to no hot water ! Woke up after 2nd night to bugs…. Swarming everywhere!!!!!!! Watch video . Were told this was “unusual”, given no apology , treated in a very condescending and arrogant way . Moved to a new room but bugs were now in our luggage ! We were provided with spray , had to dump our luggage in hall and spray everything down. Were offered complimentary laundry 🤣. Interesting it was so unusual but bug killer was very quickly available. Our experience was horrendous, I didn’t sleep a wink our final night , imagining bugs . Worst hotel experience ever , certainly not 5 star. Stay away from Mercer hotels

I am compelled to share this disturbing experience at the Mercer Hotel Sevilla to warn other travelers about the shocking lack of basic human decency displayed by their staff. What Happened: On July 31st at approximately 2:00 PM, during extreme heat (45°C/113°F), I witnessed a medical emergency unfold outside the hotel. An American tourist - a well-dressed, polite woman - collapsed from heat exhaustion on the sidewalk directly in front of the hotel. Her elderly mother and adult daughter approached the front desk, security, and bar staff seeking basic humanitarian assistance: shade and a place to recover. The Staff Response Was Appalling: • Multiple staff members (front desk, security, two bartenders) categorically refused to provide any assistance • When I, as a paying guest, asked them to show basic human compassion, they remained callous and dismissive • When the recovered woman later returned to request staff names to report the incident to management, the situation escalated to verbal abuse The Verbal Abuse: The staff’s behavior crossed every line of professional conduct: • Mocked the family openly with fake sympathy (“fake babes” when asked for help) • Made cruel personal attacks about the woman’s appearance • Used demeaning language that I won’t repeat in full • Laughed at a family in genuine distress • Lied about management availability • Attempted to physically remove the woman while she was simply asking for accountability My Response: This treatment was so disgraceful that I immediately changed hotels. I could not continue supporting an establishment that treats people - especially those in medical distress - with such cruelty. To Management: If you’re reading this, your staff provided fake names, so I cannot identify the specific individuals. However, this occurred at 2:00 PM on July 31st and involved your front desk, security, and bar staff. This reflects catastrophically on your brand and basic human values. To Fellow Travelers: Sevilla has many beautiful, well-located hotels with staff who understand basic hospitality and human decency. The Mercer’s superficial luxury renovation cannot mask the poverty of character displayed by their employees. Choose literally anywhere else and enjoy the genuine warmth that Sevilla and its people are actually known for. Bottom Line: A hotel that refuses to help someone experiencing heat stroke on their doorstep, then verbally abuses them for asking for basic human decency, deserves no one’s business. Completely inexcusable.

Beautiful boutique hotel with absolutely wonderful staff. Location is excellent, lovely room, exquisite dining room and a refreshing rooftop pool. ||True hidden gem and one of the loveliest experiences we’ve ever had. Our visit to the beautiful city of Seville was made even more special by our stay here.

Yelp
Set in Seville in the Andalucía Region and a short walk from Plaza de Armas, Hotel Mercer Sevilla has an outdoor pool on its roof top and sun terrace, where guests can stay cool in a hot summer day in Seville! There are only 11 rooms in this beautifully renovated boutique hotel, include a large double bed, free minibar, free WiFi, and Nespresso® coffee machine. Everything is in great condition, well kept and very minimalist. The bathroom comes with a glass shower with rain shower effect and exclusive toiletries from Molten Brown. The shower gel has a beautiful scent that I want to buy for my home use. The lobby bar area is also very nice.

Yelp
We stayed at the Mercer hotel in the first week of July. It was very hot out, and the rooftop pool was amazing. The hotel is small (only 11 rooms) and the staff is extremely attentive. They took time to walk us through all of the sights to see in Seville, as well as pointing out great places to eat. We only stayed for 3 nights, but we had an incredible time. Our room was well equipped, and very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing! Huge walk-in shower and jetted tub, with a separate room with the commode for privacy. The hotel is centrally located, with a quick walk to the river or to the cathedral. We walked in a different direction each day, and got to see all of the major sites without walking for more than 15-20 minutes at a time. It was perfectly safe walking at night, as the neighborhood is very clean and friendly.
