Stayed at this place for 3 nights in a Moderate Double room.
Pros:
- Directly connected to the station and its mall Fesan. Food options plenty, coupons also offered on a in room pamphlet.
- Views pretty good when sunny on the lowest floor of the hotel, could see the Shinkansen and the layered foliage on the mountains far away.
Cons:
- Ikyu mentioned that the room was renovated in 2021, however the renovation definitely cut some corners. For one, the bathroom still looks dated. The other issue was that the TV was not wall mounted in front of the bed, instead it was placed on the wall to wall table in front of the window which was parallel to the bed, without anything that secured it, therefore you had to tilt your head slightly left when laying against the headboard to watch some TV, slightly awkward. There was also an earthquake and several aftershocks during my stay and I honestly worried that the TV would fall down.
- The double bed was just 2 single beds pieced together.
- The duvet was extremely warm, turns out it's 2 duvets layered together inside the cover, once I only used one duvet it is a very comfortable sleep.
- The room I got was facing north on 5th floor pretty close to the elevator. The door was not quite sound proof, could still hear faintly the sound of people walking by and elevator dings.
- The elevator also does not have security, anyone can reach any floor, rooms are still locked with ancient physical metal keys.
- Guidance from the station upon exiting Shinkansen pointed to a route that briefly exposed myself to the elements, when there is another route that passes through the shopping mall Fesan, that I only had the chance of knowing once I got to the hotel entrance following the in station guidance.
