Restaurant Meudon

"Imposing granite pillars and neatly laid tables help to bring an air of classical elegance to this restaurant inside the Hotel Meudon. The dining room overlooks impressive mature sub-tropical gardens, which also contribute to the all-round lovely setting. The concise, daily changing menu is Cornish at heart, especially when it comes to seafood. Dishes like Mylor crab filo tart are understated yet well-executed and wholly enjoyable." - Michelin Inspector

We had a wonderful Autumn break at Hotel Meudon. The team were as always, very professional, friendly and welcoming. The location is great. The hotel is set in beautiful countryside but very close to Falmouth and not far from St Ives. This was our first visit in Autumn and the walks along the costal path and to the beaches were as enjoyable as in summer. It was lovely after a day walking to relax by the fire in the lounge at the hotel and then have an excellent meal in the restaurant. The hotel has a unique charm and style and a great team. Rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable.

Absolutely stunning hotel. Our room was warm and comfortable, the shower was strong and it was all very clean. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was incredible. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Location wise - it couldn't get better. Beautiful gardens which wend their way down to a gorgeous secluded beach. Just perfect.

This is an excellent hotel in a beautiful location, with views of the wooded garden and sea beyond.|The rooms are well appointed and clean and comfortable, I would recommend a room with a balcony. It great to stay in a hotel where there in residents lounge. I also commend the retro design standards. The food is also of a high standard, as is the customer service. There are so many tourist attractions nearby, including four heritage gardens. I shall return.

We have stayed here several times and have always loved it. The location is amazing, dinner is delicious and the atmosphere relaxed. While the cooked breakfast is tasty the buffet lets it down a bit. Personally I think the bread selections and pastries could be better quality, but then I’m picky! But that definitely would not put us off returning.

Superb location with tropical gardens and private beach. Boutique style hotel, relaxing and comfortable. garden view rooms are excellent, comfortable and clean. Restaurant is very good and there's a snack bar down by the beach. Good location for exploring other parts of Cornwall. This was our third visit. Cornwall's best kept secret.

I have never before stayed in an hotel with such bad service. Trying to order a drink at the bar took 20-30 mins, firstly trying to find a member of staff then waiting until they actually poured the drink. This happened on the three times we tried to order a drink. We gave up after that.||We had ordered the tasting menu - the first course is basically bread and butter. When we asked if there was an alternative to the fish, we were simply told no. What if we had been vegetarian? When the fish came, it was inedible - very watery sauce, tough leathery cabbage, fish tasteless and barely cooked - could have done with an extra minute of cooking. ||The toilets in the public areas did not have enough hand towels and were not kept clean enough.||The duvet was lumpy - patches with filling and patches without. Pillows were also lumpy.||At breakfast the next morning, we were told we would have to wait as a table of eight had placed an order. A hotel which can't cope with eight guests!||In the lounge in the morning, tables had not been wiped from the evening before. They still had crumbs and glass rings from the previous evening.||We have stayed in many hotels around the world over the years, both on business and leisure. When we checked out, for the first time ever, the receptionist did not ask how our stay had been. In fact, at no time at all did any staff ask if everything was ok. Probably because they didn't want to hear the answer. ||The staff (reception, bar staff, waiting staff) were all dressed in old jeans and casual clothes you might wear for walking the dog, looking very tatty and unprofessional. This was the approach taken to every single element of this hotel.||I really hope you do not waste your time and money visiting this hotel. You will be very disappointed.

The location makes this place. Stunning grounds and subtropical gardens leading out on to the private beach. Doggy friendly and the breakfast was actually pretty decent (in comparison to a lot of the other reviews on here.) Yes, service wasn't 5* but the people working there seemed lovely and ultimately - you get what you pay for. We will plan to come back next year - really enjoyed our short stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Meudon Cornwall. The family room was very comfortable, and the hotel’s décor is lovely. One of the highlights was definitely the stunning gardens — the subtropical garden is truly incredible. The location is excellent, with many beautiful Cornwall attractions easily accessible. The restaurant was excellent, with delicious food and themed evenings like BBQ in the garden, which was a real highlight. The atmosphere is very calm and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Very peaceful atmosphere — perhaps a bit more serene than our lively little ones were used to! Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Cornwall.
