How to Plan a Trip to Málaga, Spain

"Spend a few days in the lap of luxury with a stay at the Gran Hotel Miramar. The historic palace has been turned into a five-star hotel that looks out onto the Mediterranean. Each of its rooms is decked out with plush furnishings in a soothing natural palette, making the panoramic views the star of the show. The hotel's spa is equally alluring and uses local ingredients for a unique Andalusian touch." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Very nice hotel, or palace. We feel like visiting a unique place with its own history. The staff is very very welcoming, a great plus. The swimming pool is good and the outside, with small gardens, are great. We regret that the spa is not included in the room, especially since it is exclusive to the hotel and not open to the public. The sport room is a bit small and enclosed, but functional. The breakfast is good and we appreciated the location near the big fountain. Access to beds on the beach in a secured area is included with the room, this is a useful addition. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at Gran Miramar Hotel for 5 nights, and it truly exceeded our expectations. This was, without a doubt, the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Spain. The property is absolutely beautiful, with stunning architecture and elegant details throughout. Everything was spotless and so well-maintained, you can tell they really care about the guest experience. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. From the serene atmosphere to the luxurious amenities, every part of our stay felt relaxing and special. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier hotel experience in Spain.

An excllent stay and best hotel in Malaga. The hotel staff is very professional and welcoming. The location can not be beat for a resort style hotel only 10 min walk from the old town. The beach and pool was excellent and so nice to come back to after a day of touring - the kids enjoyed it as well as the hotel is accomdating to children. We had 3 rooms at the hotel and each one was lovely. The Premier room is perfect for 2 people while the deluce rooms can easily accomadte 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children due to their seperate sitting area. Breakfast buffet was excellent and offered a great variety amongst several stations. Including a Cava and Orange Juice station and bloody mary station - a very nice touch in addition to all that was on offer food wise. The decor of the hotel is a mix of traditonal modern with a Alhambra Style. Very appropriate for the region and further added to our expereince. Roof top bar excellent drinks and live music overlooking the pool and ocean. Main Dining room was excellent and portions plentiful - if looking for a elegant evening considering dining on the hotel terrace to the Aquarius Resturant. Not over priced and service excellent. If lloking for an oasis and luxury stay the Hotel Miramar is your ticket!

Gran Miramar in Malaga Spain is sensational and highly luxurious. The suite was magnificent with a terrace that had a beautiful view of the ocean. We also had a fabulous hot tub on our private terrace. You will feel like royalty. The suite even comes with an assortment of crowns to try on and take pictures with. There are live orchids and plants scattered about our suite. 2 bathrooms , 2 televisions , desk, dining table and chairs and sitting room. The lobby is stunning and there is a pianist playing live music. There are many , many fresh flower arrangements everywhere. There is water and fresh fruit as you come into the hotel. There is courteous and kind staff everywhere. The Hydro spa was a real treat and should not be missed. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Make sure to take a few minutes and explore it. The pool and restaurants are top shelf and very clean and beautiful. You can also visit the beautiful beach which is a short ( 2 minute ) walk from the hotel we will absolutely be visiting again !!!

Wonderful hotel, worthy of 6 stars. Service is impeccable. We upgraded to a suite- it was a great splurge. We even had 1 1/2 bathrooms! Walkable on promenade and to historic center via tunnel.||Manuel, the concierge was so helpful. Our car had to be fixed, our tickets for alhambra were cancelled suddenly by the tour operator (do beware if this) and he got us sorted for these nuisances as well as offering all kinds of suggestions.

We loved this hotel so much. Recently had a planned 3 night stay. We had to extend our stay by one night due to a kid who spent a morning sick from jetlag. They were SO accommodating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff were beyond kind and helpful. The rooftop food was EXCELLENT. We did two late night dinners up there. The location is perfect. The grounds and facilities are gorgeous! Near good food and attractions. We loved the pool. It was a perfect temperature and we never had an issue finding a seat. It was easy to get to the beach and having dedicated, shaded chairs at the beach was a super bonus. If we go back to Malaga this will be the only place we'll stay.

We had there an afternoon tea. Everything was perfect since I made the reservation. Although we were not staying at the hotel, we were treated as if we were, and we had parking for our car. The atmosphere and hotel facilities are truly majestic and very special. The food and variation of teas were sensational and very tasty. From the staff on the phone, the doorman, the receptionist, and the waiter, Mr. Juancho, everyone was very friendly and pleasant. So much so that we will be spending our next vacation in October at the hotel. Thank you very much and see you soon.

Stop searching and book this hotel right now! The Hotel Miramar was everything we expected and more. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was impeccable, the property was beautiful and our room was well-appointed. We very much enjoyed the hotel pool in the late afternoons after visiting other beaches along the Costa Del Sol. The staff also left us a lovely bowl of fruit and flowers in our room since we were celebrating our anniversary - such a thoughtful touch.

Yelp
Beautiful, historic hotel located just a 20 minute walk from the center of Old Town and located just across from the beach. Opening in 1926 as a luxury hotel, this property has served several functions over the years but was restored to its original grandeur in 2017. From the moment you pull up to the grand front entrance, service and attentiveness is off the charts! I was warmly greeted, assisted with my bag, shown to my room and told about the range of amenities at the hotel.Every staff member here is nice and speaks several languages which is nice. There is a full spa and my massage there was terrific. The breakfast restaurant has everything you could ever want available and the room looks out to the water. There is a rooftop bar that is classy and pours a great drink along with views of the water and city. The casual lunch restaurant, Botanicals, is also quite good with impeccable service. My room was one of the sea view suites, a splurge but worth the extra cost to have a large outdoor patio, views of the pool and sea as well as plenty of room to relax. Malaga is just coming into it's own as a vacation destination in Spain thanks to the Picasso museum, large port and plenty of restaurants. If you want a luxury stay while here, the Gran Hotel Miramar is for you!

Yelp
Great stunning hotel! Probably our best stay ever, anywhere. Malaga is a underrated destination in Spain. Not as touristy as other coast destinations but in that, you'll find a gem of a city with small town vibes, peaceful and quiet but with plenty of stuff to do. Yes, I know this is not a review of the city but I want to put this great hotel in context: Great hotel, awesome room with the ocean serenating your sleep. The insuperable installations are only au pair with the staff. Friendly, attentive, genuine... the room is serviced twice a day. We opted for breakfast included which is a not cheap but is one less thing to worry about and the buffet is actually pretty good. We loved it and we want to go back.

Yelp
Amazing hotel, amazing service, awesome location. It's probably one of the best hotels in Malaga. They don't cut corners, friendly staff will make your stay comfortable. 10 min walking to old town, across the street from the beach.
