Nestled in a stylishly renovated 1920s villa, this chic boutique hotel boasts elegant rooms, a vibrant French-Asian restaurant, and a buzzing bar that's a local favorite.
"Though it sits squarely in Tel Aviv’s Lev Ha’ir (the heart of the city), Hotel Montefiore feels almost hidden away, not least because of the fact that greenery shrouds much of the restored 1922 mansion. Gaze out the window of the lobby restaurant (where you should, without fail, order the Tunisian eggs for breakfast) and you’re as likely to find yourself leaf-peeping as people-watching. The hotel feels all the more intimate with its grand total of 12 guestrooms, each cozily appointed with well-stocked book shelves and retro armchairs. The vibe here isn’t strictly old-timey, however. You’ll also find a striking modern art collection and a DVD library that (almost) rivals the book selection. As tempted as you may be to binge-watch or read in your down-draped bed, don’t skip a nightcap in the downstairs bar, which is the picture of international style, whether you’re talking about the crowd or the menu offerings."
"Serving french cuisine with a Vietnamese touch: widely regarded by locals as an institution, it exudes European ambiance and also has one of the coolest bars in town."
"The best of Tel Aviv’s stylish hotels is a meticulously renovated 1920s mansion, with an arabesque dome and bijou Juliet balconies in 8 of the 12 guest rooms. The accommodations have original 1930s furniture by German Bauhaus designer Thonet, libraries packed with art and travel tomes, and chocolate- and champagne-stocked mini-bars. The small but capable staff multitask, handling everything from picnic lunches to reservations for Tel Aviv’s most popular tables, including at the Montefiore’s own French-Asian restaurant. An adjacent bar has become the HQ for media, art, and finance swells. Although off the typical tourist path—a.k.a. the beach—the hotel’s location close to top shopping, restaurants, and architectural icons makes it a chic alternative to the tired chain hotels."
"Located in the posh Montefiore boutique hotel, this charming restaurant has become a local institution to see and be seen. Ruti and Mati Broudo of R2M restaurant group are known for their high standards for food and service at all of their ventures, and Montefiore is no exception. The plush room is as pretty as the plates — refined bistro classics with hints of Vietnamese cuisine that showcase the best of local ingredients. Breakfast is a destination every day of the week. Wow, a superb hotel! Based in an art deco style building, beautifully preserved and upgraded. The room was beautiful with high class toiletries. Dinner was perfectly prepared and so tasty. If this was good, the breakfast was even better. A great choice, with the porridge simply delicious. Not something you would normally associate with porridge. |Above all, it’s the staff that really excel. Always smiling and welcoming, with nothing any problem. The reception staff, especially Romi, could not have done a better job. A standard that every hotel I have stayed with could aspire to.

The hotel, its facilities and staff, is fantastic! The people running the hotel at all levels made an extraordinary effort to ensure our comfort and made our stay as pleasant as possible. The outstanding restaurant and the free parking were a terrific bonus. The hotel is very highly recommended!

This is a review of the restaurant and not the hotel. The restaurant had an elegant though cozy atmosphere. The hamburger was excellent and the dessert too.

What an amazing experience! The best boutique hotel in Tel Aviv! The location is great and had the best staff, best food, best service I have experienced. The motif was beautiful, beds were perfect, and their attention to details is amazing! I was very impressed and planning on returning. In my opinion, they really redefine the difference between customer service and customer care!

This hotel was for my needs. It has an elegant, charming style in a renovated colonial building. The rooms are well thought out with a carafe of free filtered water, very comfortable bed and a leather arm chair with ottoman to relax in. Mini bar and in room snacks have some amazing options from local vendors. ||The restaurant is very very good and I had several dinners there and breakfast everyday. You should make reservations as it is totally unreasonable to expect a small hotel with a small but outstanding restaurant to set enough tables aside for hotel guests who want a table just a few hours before dinner and room service is very good and a good option. The area is great and you great free gym passes to a local gym. ||It’s true that the front desk is often very busy with the restaurant but they are also very efficient. I’m an independent traveler so I don’t have many needs from hotel staff but the few times I needed something they were very helpful. In my opinion with the ability to make reservations for local restaurants online, apps for cabs and so much information online regarding local sites the need for hotel staff assistance isn’t what it used to be. ||So this hotel was perfect for me but if you are looking for common areas or a roof top this is probably not the hotel for you. There are a few chairs in the lobby that one can sit in for a bit but that’s it. However if you want a beautiful hotel in a very nice area with great food, atmosphere and an outstanding staff this hotel won’t disappoint.

The setting was amazing. Beautifully restored historic building. The service was a let down as it was very pushy! The chap was very nice but kept offering and ordering for us (desserts) we were not yet sure about. More listening to us would have been great. Food was nice but nothing special compared with other amazing places in TelAviv and far too expensive which imo it justified

I heard a lot about the hotel and had great expectations but it was very disappointing. The bar and the restaurant are trendy and very animated at night, but the hotel part needs to be refreshed (it was renovated in 2008). The decoration is not up to date very "masculine", and many details are not at the level expected for this standard. |Service is lalso somewhat unprofessional, it seems that the staff doesnt care at all about customers, they are talking and joking between themselves, I never felt "at home" nor welcomed. My advice: go for a drink or dinner but do not stay at the hotel.

An institution of fine Israeli service and lodging.
