Movich Hotel Cartagena de Indias (Cartagena, Colombia) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"At a glance Cartagena could easily be mistaken for another of the many picturesque Colonial cities in Latin America, and indeed its narrow cobblestone streets, its sun-dappled public squares, its church steeples towering over the old walled city are all a deep part of its appeal. But what really sets Cartagena apart is how, despite all postcard-perfect backdrops, it never quite feels like a parody of its former self. There’s an easy self-confidence about the place, a confidence that’s perfectly embodied by the Movich Hotel. Step inside, behind its traditional whitewashed façade, and the hotel is as contemporary as can be, all sleek modern lines and sunny, open spaces." - Tablet Hotels

This was a perfect location - right in the heart of the the old city. The rooftop pool was spectacular and a great place to unwind after sightseeing. The staff were kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the coffee and water in the lobby was a lovely touch. I would happily come back.

Our family of four spent a week in Cartagena and the Movich hotel was our luxurious respite from the heat and fracas! The rooftop pool with a breathtaking view of the gorgeous historic walled city was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable, shower was spacious and always the right temperature. The gym was useful for an early morning workout and the free breakfast just put that pampered feeling over the top. (Sandra was the best!) highly recommend!

The rooftop has an amazing view and a really nice vibe, but the service needs improvement. I went around 2 PM and we were the only guests, yet the staff wasn’t attentive at all. It took a while to get noticed even though the place was empty. Would come back for the view, but I hope the service gets better.

This gem of a hotel is wonderful. It is beautiful and kept in great shape! We hosted a white party for a wedding on the rooftop. The staff were so attentive and nice. The food was spectacular and so fresh. The roof top had a fabulous pool. We had ample seating options. My room was 5 Star. The ambiance was peaceful and tropical. Just made our stay amazing. Each morning we had breakfast with fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices and the fresh baked bread was fit for a king. Again I need to emphasize how wonderful and kind the staff were. I would definitely stay here again!

I could write a lengthy review about this hotel, but I must say it’s a 10+ out of 10 all around! The location was just perfect, walking distance to all the bars and restaurants/entertainment and water port. We had such an amazing luxury hotel experience from the welcoming each day by Javier who was so kind, to the ladies at the breakfast section who were so accommodating and the bar staff upstairs by the rooftop bar & pool area. Everything about our staying was just pleasant and I’ll absolutely share it with anyone who asks where to stay in caterers when visiting. PS: THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Major kudos for having authentic Colombian food and tasteful too.

We came to get a few drinks at the bar with our three kids. Super friendly staff. Mareilys was our host. She was incredible, very friendly and super generous to the kids. The food was delicious. The vibe was super hyped up. A place to go even with kids for a change of scenery. Love the live music.

The rooftop is quite nice with a beautiful view of the sunset. However, we were very disappointed with the service. We had ordered nachos to snack on with our cocktails, and after waiting for over 30 minutes, we started wondering what was taking so long. Then the waitress came to inform us that they were out of nachos… This wouldn’t have been a problem if we had been told earlier, instead of being left waiting especially for a hotel of this standard.

Stayed at Hotel Movich Cartagena De Indias for a little couple’s escape, and let’s just say… it almost lived up to the hype. The rooftop? Chef’s kiss. Views were straight out of a travel magazine — perfect for pretending we were influencers while sipping overpriced drinks and dodging the occasional seagull. The rooms were clean and had that luxury feel, but nothing mind-blowing. Bed was comfy, though I wouldn’t write poetry about it. Now the service… well, let’s just say the staff weren’t exactly in a rush to impress. You could age gracefully waiting for a poolside order. Not rude, just kind of on vacation with you. Location was “meh.” Not terrible, not amazing — enough to feel connected but not exactly in the heart of the action. Would I stay here again? Maybe — for the view and the vibe, yes. But I’d manage my expectations on service and probably bring snacks.
