Hotel New Otani Tokyo EXECUTIVE HOUSE ZEN

This is a stunning hotel/property where we had a really good time on our vacation. The entire aspect of a hotel, including restaurants, service, rooms, accessibility, garden spaces is top of the line and we will unhesitatingly stay in this hotel again on our next visit. The staff was extremely polite and kind and helped with multiple aspects of our stay. We stayed in the executive Zen rooms which have their exclusively check-in and an exclusive lounge that is pretty much functional along the entire day. The staff at the lounge was very efficient. Even though this is an older property its maintenance has been well kept and the outside garden with a small waterfall and a restaurant with the view of the waterfall are all top-notch. The property reminded us of the upkeep seen in the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, which is also an older hotel, but maintains quality over the years. The individual rooms are very clean and well maintained with excellent turn down service. We probably got the largest chocolates we’ve ever seen when we came back to our rooms in the evening as part of the turndown service. The only thing confusing for us was that we could not find in-room dining and we tried the QR code, but it seems that only led to ordering breakfast so even though we stayed there three nights we could not figure out if in-room dining was a possibility.

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is! VIP treatment from the moment we arrived, from the personal tea service to champagne in our room. The room itself was spacious, comfy, incredibly clean and had everything we need for our stay. The view was second to none, on clear days we could see Shinjuku and Mount Fuji. If you are lucky enough to stay here, make as much use of the executive lounge as you can, some of the best food I’ve ever tasted served here, particularly the french vanilla filled pastry. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and polite and nothing was too much trouble, even when we needed to arrange luggage transfer to Kyoto outside of normal reception hours. The rest of the New Otani is wonderful too, more restaurants and shops than you can shake a stick at, and the gardens are stunning and very relaxing after a long day of exploring Tokyo. If I’m ever lucky enough to stay here again, I will be incredibly happy. Thank you!

Our stay at the New Otani Executive ZEN in Tokyo was thoroughly enjoyable, thanks to the dedication of the staff who made it a comfortable and memorable experience. I would like to commend the management for their professionalism and the way the team is trained. The attention to detail especially from housekeeping was impressive and something we rarely encounter, even in our travels to other hotels around the world. The small touches like how housekeeping would put a towel under my cosmetics and rearrange them neatly everyday and put a luggage rack under my backpack so it wouldn't touch the floor was really something else. Overall the staff at New Otani were consistently attentive, and the staff at the Executive Lounge was excellent. We will certainly miss the warmth and care shown to us throughout our stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family back home.

My stay at the Executive House Zen was nothing short of transcendent. This isn't just a hotel; it's a rare urban sanctuary that seamlessly blends profound history with modern luxury. The Hotel New Otani complex is legendary in Tokyo, established in 1964, and is unique for its three distinct sections: the Main Building, the Garden Wing, and the exclusive Executive House Zen where I stayed, which occupies the top floors. The room was spectacular. I was lucky enough to have a room with a breathtaking view of the Shinjuku skyline and, in the distance, the majestic silhouette of Mount Fuji. The space felt more like a suite than a standard room, with a separate living area, a proper work table, and a spacious bathroom and closet. It's no wonder it has been recognized with a Michelin Key. The crown jewel of the House Zen experience is the Club Lounge. The service here is impeccable, offering an almost non-stop culinary journey with six different food presentations throughout the day. From generous breakfast spreads to Pierre Hermé pastries at afternoon tea and exquisite canapés in the evening, it was all complemented by free-flowing Champagne and beer. Sitting there, gazing at the city and Mt. Fuji, was unforgettable. The hotel grounds are a destination in themselves. The 400-year-old Japanese Garden is a serene, historical masterpiece, and I was also lucky to catch the stunning Seasonal Rose Garden in bloom. The location is amazingly central, close to multiple stations (like Akasaka-Mitsuke and Nagatacho), though the property is so vast a bit of walking is involved. The facilities are endless, and the staff's warm, anticipatory service is a benchmark for hospitality. A truly rare find in Tokyo.

Fabulous staff, from the moment we entered the property. We were immediately swept to the Executive area for check in, our bags taken to our suite and we were given welcome champagne and invited to enjoy the mid afternoon buffet. The Executive Club area was our go to place to enjoy the finest treats and Pierre Hermé treats. Every contact we had was the kindest and most generous. Our room was lovely and the robe and pajamas were a surprise treat. The bathroom amenities were the nicest of any 5* hotel I’ve ever had the luxury of staying. The Japanese Garden was fabulous. Three days was not enough. Arigatō!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond in every way — friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile. They truly care about their guests, and it shows in every little detail. The hotel itself is immaculate, beautifully designed, and offers every comfort you could hope for. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed, making it a perfect place to relax after a long day. Whether it was the concierge helping us plan our day, the restaurant staff providing excellent service, or housekeeping ensuring everything was perfect, the level of hospitality was unmatched.

Amazing luxury hotel. We were treated very well and always had all of our needs met. Staff speaks English and always helpful. The Executive Lounge offers free food and drinks as long as you are staying there, and has great views of the city.

We booked the EXECUTIVE HOUSE ZEN Deluxe Double Room via our AMEX card. When we arrived, we received a room upgrade as well as all the benefits that came with the booking as expected. It was a smooth and professional check in process with the staff for our honeymoon. My husband and I loved every aspect of our stay there. Again, service was amazing and on point. We loved that the room decor was minimum and reflected a Japanese vibe. Access to the lounge was also available to eat at different points in time, so it was nice to grab snacks and drinks here and there. Although advertised on the AMEX site that our room would provide a Sakura view, we didn’t get it but that was alright. In terms of accessibility, the hotel is a little far from the subway (10-13 min walk). It’s probably more for a relaxation stay than for people on the go. P.S: I really took a liking to the welcome ginger tea that they provided us for a welcome drink. It was super delicious. I’m not normally a fan of ginger haha!

Wonderful hotel within a hotel. The rooms are well appointed with very pleasing decor and amenities. The Executive Lounge offers so many options throughout the day that it proved to be both a perfect start for breakfast and an enjoyable way to relax at the end of the day. Views from the Executive Lounge provided opportunity to view Fuji, especially delightful at sunset. The staff are very friendly and the service is exceptional. Overall, staying at the Executive House Zen added to the vacation experience, highly recommended.

I stayed in New Otani both garden and main tower several times before but never had an opportunity to stay in the executive house zen. They assigned two floors of the main building (I think it was 11 & 12 FL but I don't remember correctly) for the executive zen and they have their own front desk, lounge, and club house exclusively available to the zen quests. You can have meal and drinks unlimited during their business hour at the lounge and it's really a good deal when you think about how much you spend for just drinks at any bars in Tokyo. Also I really liked their breakfast selection and drinks and also it's such a good deal as you would spend $30-$40 per person if you had an in room dining breakfast. I also loved my room so much and all the staff went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. One thing I really liked about the room was that they had this smart phone that I could use freely during my stay so I could make free phone calls and use data service, and didn't have to get frustrated with my T-Mobile data service which were so slow or didn't work at all in Japan. Overall, it was such a great experience and such a good deal which was about $400 per night. I'd definitely love to go back when I visit Tokyo next time and highly recommend anyone who's planning to visit Tokyo. Please note that the rooms in garden tower are not renovated and are very very old and also services are not good. Main tower rooms are ok but it's no comparison to the executive house zen. Trust me, you can truly experience 5 star facility and outstanding service at the zen and it'll worth every penny you spend.

Nice room with an executive lounge with some light snacks and few selection of alcohol. The good thing is, it's included with the room lol.
