Palacete Colonial | Best places to stay in Leon

"This luxurious little boutique hotel in a hundred-year old townhouse, located just over the bridge from the train station, opened its doors in 2019. Expect spacious, well-equipped rooms (the big one with the enormous terrace is a delight), high end linens and Nespresso machines. The basement has a welcome indoor pool (so pretty it was used in a music video) for cooling off after a busy day sightseeing. There’s easy public parking and a good breakfast – all in all, a great choice for anyone who loves cool design with their creature comforts. " - Dana Facaros

This hotel is a hidden gem!! It does not look like a hotel, so don't walk by and miss it. It looks like small manor house in the middle of the city. We were touring northern Spain by train and this location is perfect, less than a 10 min walk from the train station. We never needed transportation when in Leon.|The recent interior update is splendid -- a cross between old world charm and modern convenience. EVERYTHING was perfect for us in our standard king room. The photos you see are very accurate. Walking distance to the Cathedral and all dining & shopping.|If you don't need the breakfast (it's optional), there is an excellent coffee shop / bakery right across the street called, "Café Valkiria." They open at 08:00AM with a complete breakfast menu (also lunch & early light dinner). We LOVED this hotel. Very nice staff, as well. You cannot beat it in Leon.

We arrived very late due to both the train and it's replacement bus both failing. The duty receptionist volunteered to stay on to let us in. We were ninety minutes late, but he made nothing of the inconvenience. The rooms are beautiful and substantial, with complimentary drinks tray and minibar. Breakfast was to a high standard. We returned several days later, the third floor rooms also to a good standard and very private and quiet, no street noises at all..

This is a lovely hotel, in a beautiful, convenient location. We had a room on the street side, and it was a bit noisy all night. The room was great, otherwise. We had a little trouble getting in - there isn't an open lobby, and you had to ring the bell at the door to get in. Obvious to some, but not us!

We absolutely loved our stay at this exceptional hotel. The location is ideal for exploring the city of Leon, an easy flat walk to the cathedral and main cities main attractions. |Our bedroom was very spacious with a large queen sized bed. The quality of everything is to an exceptional standard, from the interior design to the coffee maker and Dyson hairdryer, quality of bed linen and towels. Clearly someone has taken huge effort to make this such a special hotel at exceptional value. |Parking in the secure underground public car park is less than 50m from the front door. It cost €0.035 / minute but it’s capped at €18.90 maximum charge in 24hrs so we lingered and enjoyed the 12 noon checkout. With so much to see and do in Leon we were thankful for the extra time.

A mixed feeling, with some very good and some not-so-good points. A truly beautiful hotel. A magnificent building. A very well-decorated lobby. A superb room, spacious and very pleasant, with a lovely high ceiling under the roof. The bedding is perfect, and the bathroom is not only highly functional but also very attractive. On top of that there was a very kind and pleasant hand written welcome note in the room all in our native language! Thank you for that. In short, everything could have been perfect, if not for a few details. First, the reception was neither welcoming nor reassuring. They took a photocopy of my passport and wrote down all the details of my credit card. When I asked why, the answer was: “So we can charge you if you’ve taken anything from the minibar or elsewhere.” In other words, they explained they could bill me for anything without my consent. Not a pre-authorization as is customary, but rather an open door to charges at the hotel’s sole discretion. The whole process felt completely insecure. And on top of that, it implied I might leave without paying what I owed? Then, still at the reception: after bringing up my luggage, I came back down and asked for the Wi-Fi code. The answer: “You can just look in the booklet in the room.” I had to insist for the receptionist to give me the codes without having to go back upstairs. Finally, again at reception, a whole performance just to get a physical key card instead of accepting the certified one on my iPhone. The attitude was very aggressive and, once again, tinged with suspicion of dishonesty. In the room: the power outlet next to the bed was broken, as was the USB socket; no towel rack in the bathroom; a few hairs in the shower that weren’t ours; and the radio didn’t work. Such a shame — this could truly be the best value-for-money hotel.

We stayed here on a getaway weekend from Barcelona on the weekend of Constitution day. Arrived Thursday and checked out Sunday. Incredible value for an amazing hotel and a great staff. Eva at the front desk was super nice and helpful. We stayed in one of the junior suites and were amazed how awesome it was. The website pictures look just like the real thing.

An exceptional hotel, beautifully restored, within walking distance of both the station and wonderful cathedral. The rooms are of a very high standard and the breakfast was lovely. What adds to the ambience is the friendliness of the owner. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Leon
