Hôtel Palafitte

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The atmosphere was peaceful, and the view of the lake was absolutely stunning – it felt like the Maldives of Switzerland. The rooms were spacious, and the service was top-notch and very clean. Every member of the staff was welcoming and friendly, but I’d especially like to mention Elious. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and her service was highly professional. I’m truly happy with my experience, and I’m already looking forward to coming back for future holidays!

All the staff is incredibly helpful and welcoming. The experience of being on a pod over the water with direct access to the lake and breathtaking view is really worth having (and repeating 😉). Cheery on the top for those of you looking for a good gym, there is a very well equipped one next door available for the hotel guests. I fully recommend!

I cannot stop smiling when I remember the first second I saw this hotel from outside 🤣 I screamed at my husband “ Where did you book for us !?”😳😲 When I entered the lobby things went back to normal 😍 Such a distinctive experience indeed. Our room was into the lake 😍 ! An experience I have for the first time. The birds were within my reach to feed them as I usually do on lakes. The sounds of the music 🎼 of nature made me feel like I was in heaven 🤗 The staff is so nice and friendly. They smile as they ask you if you are satisfied or need help. The food is delicious and varied. I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel 🏨🤩

Always dangerous to go back to places where you had a marvellous stay before, as expectations are set too high. It had been 3 years or so, but am I glad I listened to that little voice inside my head: we went back and enjoyed every second again. The rooms seem to have been refurbished a little and they looked even nicer than last time. It remains a unique property: beautifully located, very intimate, amazing rooms, great beds, fantastic breakfast, views to die for and simply fantastic staff: from reception to handymen. The fourlegged friends is welcome too!! The next stay will not take another 3 years!! Simply an amazing experience for people that want a unique stay!

Watch out! My friend and I had reserved this hotel for our stay during a music festival, but the hotel just canceled our booking at the last minute when it was impossible to find anything else to book nearby.

The location of this hotel is excellent, with beautiful views, and they offer canoes and paddleboards. The rooms are spacious. However, the downside is that both the public areas and the rooms were somewhat dirty, with spider webs visible in many places, which was disappointing. This may be due to a shortage of staff, leading to untimely cleaning. The restaurant was mediocre, with food quality not matching the price, and the service was average as well. Additionally, we were charged three times for a purchase at the bar, and this issue was not resolved even by the time we checked out.

We checked out after the first night. It is inconceivable to me how a Five Star hotel can afford to have so much dirt and insects IN THE ROOM. The room is dirty and not renovated. If you decide to go to a camping, say in the woods or on a lakeside, you expect that of course, but maybe you're prepared for it there. But in the case of a five-star hotel, it never crossed our minds that we were buying a ticket to a nightmare. If you go near water, yes, it is natural to have spiders, mosquitoes and all kinds of insects. But it is horrible how many spiders there are in the room, and not the smallest size... It's also a fact that you can only go out on the terrace after sunset if you're perfectly ok with countless insects flying around, with good sized spiders, and billions of mosquitoes and flying insects. But in your room - which is otherwise protected from intruders by mosquito nets - there are nonetheless a lot of giant spiders. If you haven't counted 20, you haven't counted one. Unfortunately, they are in the corners, but also on the pillow in bed.... The room is littered with insect remains already eaten by spiders. If someone is really not OK with sleeping with spiders, I would not recommend it. However, if that is not a problem for you, this is the best accommodation on the lake. Unfortunately, we are not the only ones complaining about this. I have read several reviews (afterwards, unfortunately) complaining about spiders in the room.

I absolutely love Switzerland and I go there almost every year. I try to explore different parts of this wonderful country with each trip and one of the most wonderful experiences was my last visit to Switzerland from which I have just come back. I stayed at the Hotel Palafitte which is located on the lakefront of the beautiful lake Neuchatel and the experience of living here was wonderful beyond words. There is something special about this place that filled me with so much drive and energy. I usually like to visit a new place every time but this is one place that I will definitely visit again.
