We chose this hotel because of its location, and we were not disappointed. It was a late arrival as the airline changed our booking. The hotel arranged for a taxi on our behalf and the driver was waiting at arrivals when we arrived. The following morning we had a basic Spanish continental breakfast, and then went to reception to ask for a map of the city. Maria the receptionist must have spent at least 15 minutes pointing out where to go, which order was best, where we could eat and the anti-cholesterol walk in the park after. The hotel is just far enough away from the hustle & bustle, but everywhere you need to visit is within easy walking distance & also the market is just round the corner. The rooms are spacious and fitted with modern décor. Coffee, tea, kettle & safe provided There are 4 floors which is also serviced with a lift as well as stairs and the hotel has its own restaurant. We were really made to feel welcomed and enjoyed our 3 night stay immensely.

We only stayed one night here as we were moving on from Santiago. Our flight was delayed by 6 hours so instead of arriving at about 11pm we arrived at about 5am. Augustin on reception was incredibly helpful-we had asked for his help getting a taxi as there was a very big queue at the airport and very few taxis. He then put juice and cake in our room for us. The room was lovely with really comfortable beds. I agree with others that if you are a light sleeper you may find it too noisy but if this doesn't bother you I would absolutely recommend it. The receptionist the next day was also really helpful. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment but had a drink in the restaurant before we left-it seemed popular and had a nice vibe.

Excellent location and facilities for enjoying some downtime at the end of the Camino. We appreciated the friendly staff and the quality and cleanliness of the rooms and hotel were excellent. Great access to the markets and plenty of local places to eat and drink made this a great place to stay for a few days.

What beautiful boutique hotel - just on the outskirts of the old city - so easy to walk to the Cathedral & all the cafes & bars. Staff were so welcoming & friendly - our first hotel in 14 days that we had a queen/double bed a clean bath to soak our tired feet & a mini bar! A beautiful view from our balcony window

Our stay in this hotel was a real disappointment, we’re currently sitting in the airport, waiting for our flight home, irritated, tired, with a general sense of dissatisfaction.||Last night we barely slept, firstly we were woken by a group of teenagers shouting in the foyer at around 11.30. This went on for a prolonged period without any intervention from hotel staff. When this finally stopped, the noise from the street picked up. Despite having all the windows and shutters closed, the noise was unbearably loud. The room was totally un sound proofed, the street noise (partying, shouting and street cleaning) continued unabated until around 5am.||To add to our insomnia, the room also had a harsh white light above the door which couldn’t be switched off.||The room itself was also less than ideal, firstly the door looked like it had been repeatedly broken into. There was an obsolete electronic lock hanging off the door and a number of holes in the door.||The TV in the room seemed to date from the late 90s and appeared to only have four channels.||The walls had various scuffs and stains, it was a bit pokey and there were no facilities for making hot drinks. There was also no indication that the tap water was drinkable.||Breakfast was pretty limited but ok quality. The staff at the hotel were really lovely, helpful friendly and kind. ||All in all though, our stay was disappointing and I wouldn’t return or recommend a stay here.

This hotel was wonderful in terms of location and comfort. It is literally 4 min. walk to the cathedral. The bed is comfy and the A/C is strong. We loved the room and location. Don't get breakfast. It is overpriced for what it is and the poor staff person could not keep up with reception, breakfast, and phone duties. Items were not refilled. Overall not a good value for breakfast. Other than that, highly recommended.

We arrived home tonight from a four night stay at the Hotel Pazo de Altamira. On arrival at the hotel late on Tuesday night we were welcomed by the lovely Alba at reception. Alba was very welcoming and helpful and brought coffee to our room as it was very late when we arrived and everywhere was closed. We had a lovely room with balcony and the hotel overlooked the square which had a few cafe/bars - perfect location. The room was spacious and spotless. We had dinner on our last night in the lovely restaurant, service was excellent and the food was superb. On our last day Maria at reception ordered a taxi for us and again we were treated to coffee courtesy of Maria, while we waited for the taxi. Both Alba and Maria were so helpful, pleasant and efficient. Their attention to small details mattered. We would highly recommend the Hotel Pazo de Altamira and would definitely book again if we return to Santiago de Compostela. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Great hotel in super spot next to Mercado. Rooms very simple but stylish. Covered balcony was airy and nice buzz during the day. Staff very helpful and breakfast very nice. Would have given a 5 but we hardly got any sleep - busy corner but it was the Feast of the Ascension so we perhaps hit a noisy night!
