"While there are several Praktik mini-chain outposts in Barcelona, only one has a Baluard bakery right on site, meaning the scent of fresh-baked bread and pastry is included in the rates (which are some of the most reasonable in town). The whitewashed Lazaro Rosa-Violán-designed rooms are small but comfortable and come with all the basic creature comforts. And whatever the hotel lacks in glitz and glamour it more than makes up for in location…and carbs. "

To be honest, we’d rate our overall experience 3 stars, mainly due to the service. We had an incident that felt a bit outrageous: when we returned to our room after cleaning service, the dirty cups we’d left were still there. We assumed it was just a mistake, so we called reception, only to be told quite rudely that we needed to bring the cups down ourselves. (These were the hotel’s own cups, not room service items.) I ended up having to go down in my pyjamas just to swap them out, which was frustrating. It makes you wonder what the point of cleaning service is if basic things like replacing dirty cups aren’t handled. Considering the price of the hotel, this felt more like hostel-level service. The room also lacked a mini-bar and an iron. On the positive side, the shower was very spacious, and the location itself is excellent. As for the bakery, it’s definitely a unique perk to wake up to the smell of fresh pastries. However, since the bakery is also open to the public, as hotel guests we sometimes had to wait around 10 minutes in the same queue as everyone else to get breakfast if we didn’t use the buffet. It would make sense to prioritise hotel guests, perhaps with a separate line. Overall, for the price, I’d still say it’s worth staying here, but addressing these issues would really elevate the experience because the place clearly has great potential.

We stayed here for three nights and it was an amazing location! The concept is cool. There is a bakery on the first floor and then the hotel above it. It is like a 5 min walk to 3 different metro lines so it’s easy to get around. L3 takes you right to Mercat de la Boqueria. It’s also really close to Casa Mila and like a 8 min walk to Casa Batlló. Really close to the main attractions of Barcelona and it’s nice that they have a 24 hr reception. The baked goods are made daily and for the most part super yummy. I did try a cupcake looking thing and it wasn’t the best but that could be just me. The rooms were slightly on the smaller side but we got a window room and that was really nice, it is on a more transient street so in the morning we could hear the city start to wake up. The showers are also super amazing and well needed after a long day of traveling.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during our trip to Barcelona. It is above a really lovely bakery which is a great place to get breakfast. The rooms are very small but functional. I did not find it loud at night. There is a nice common room and place to fill your water bottle. You can use the elevator or the stairs. Great location to explore the city and very central. The housekeeping was lovely, and I really enjoyed my stay here.

Google
The hotel was good for its price, mainly because of its very central location. However, the room felt quite cramped even after we upgraded. The hallways were also quite dark, even with the lights on, which gave a slightly gloomy feel. The bakery in the lobby gets very busy, especially in the mornings, so don’t expect the usual quiet hotel lobby experience. Overall, it’s a convenient choice if you want to stay near the city center.

Super great place to stay! The rooms may be a little on the small side, but they have everything you need plus more. The only reason I gave service of four was because it’s a pretty self-sufficient hotel. I never really needed anything and for this, I did not get service. Everyone is super hospitable at the bakery and the housekeeping staff are lovely. The location is perfect! This was our second day and we will stay there again next time in Barcelona

Google
Praktik Bakery has a prime location, very very closed to Paseo de Gracia, the equivalent to Fifth Avenue in NY. Rooms are very comfy, spacious enough. Although, some luggage racks would it have been a plus. Nonetheless, having a Bakery downstairs it was an absolute pleasure. And our last and most important praise goes to Guillermo, Front Desk attendant. He was an absolute charming and funny guy. We truly enjoyed having that “last conversation” of the evening with him, every night. A very professional and friendly host. Muchas gracias Guillermo y éxito en todo lo que te propongas. Saludos desde Puerto Rico. 🤗

First, let me say, if there were more of these hotels in cities I visited, I would always stay there. The concept is a great business model.||The check-in was not as pleasant as I had expected. The young lady was not friendly ( not rude either) but acted like we were an inconvenience to her. There is storage available if you arrive before check-in time for your luggage. Breakfast can be purchased for extra price. ||The rooms were small but clean, the sink was in the entranceway of the room and the shower was a nice size. Our window opened up to the outside park area. ||The bakery was excellent. Great breakfast and lunch items. You could watch the bread being made. They do not post their hours, but they start cleaning the coffee machines very early, so don't expect to get any 30 minutes before closing. Also, we checked out before the bakery opened, which was sad, I really had hoped for something prior to leaving. ||The checkout was easy, and that staff member was nice. ||The elevator was very slow and small. If you need to go to the bathroom while in bakery, you have to walk downstairs. We were shocked while we waited to use the bathroom to have a man coming out of women's bathroom. ||The location was great. Lots of restaurants and stores in the area.

Appreciated the location, easy access to food, polite and efficient staff and luggage storage after checking out. The balcony is fantastic and the room space is great. Having a bidet in the WC would be due to the separate shower and WC area Pricey for that particular week though probably due to high demand during La Merce but still considered quite costly. Thank you.

Yelp
I loved my stay here! The hotel exceeded my expectations, especially for what I paid. It's in a central location in a walkable area. I was traveling solo and I felt safe in this area, even at night! I also loved that there was a bakery downstairs -- the smell seriously wafted all the way up to my 6th floor room every morning. It was amazing. It was also a nice perk to have grab-and-go sandwiches and breakfast located in the lobby (not included in the price of the room, but everything I had from the bakery was incredible). I'd definitely stay here again!

Yelp
We had a great visit. It was recommended by friends and it lived up to their kudos. We liked the location and the bakery aspect of the property. They have a bakery on the ground floor and their creations are delicious.

Yelp
My first time visiting Barcelona and I must say, I made the perfect choice for hotel accommodations. Hotel Praktik Bakery was quaint, had a homely feeling and I loved waking up to the smell of fresh bread baking every morning. My room was the perfect size and I especially loved the minimalist design. I opted against the breakfast option offered for 10 Euros a day by the hotel and instead saved more buying from the bakery itself or grabbing something outside. The neighbor is very central (a block away from La Padrera) and very close to the bus and subway station. At check-in, the hotel offered a free pass to its guests for public transportation (up to 10 rides) which came in very handy. The neighborhood was great and never did I feel unsafe walking the streets late at night. Housekeeping did a great job with the daily upkeep and on New Year's Eve left two bags of twelve grapes to eat on NYE at the stroke of midnight (Spain tradition). My favorite part of the hotel (besides my room) was definitely the ambiance downstairs. Loved the eating areas and patio and the customers and hotel guests coming in everyday for their breakfast while socializing with other patrons and staff. The hotel concierge was much ok, they were willing to help with any questions I had regarding various routes and were very knowledgeable about the locations/sites I was interested in visiting. I will say consider yourself very lucky if you interact with Joaquin. He's a gem! Very patient young man and didn't mind answering my many questions and even offered suggestions for things to do and places to visit. Joaquin deserves a pay raise and promotion. I also appreciated that the hotel concierge staff and some of the bakery staff spoke down English. Thank you for an awesome time. I will definitely stay there again and refer this hotel my many friends who travel to Barcelona.

Yelp
I had a decent stay at Hotel Praktik. The hotel has some definite pluses and minuses. Pluses: Location! It's in a great location, walkable to the major sites in Barcelona. It was also easy to get to from the airport as it's near both a metro and a Renfe train stop. Price! It's well priced for the location. The rooms aren't huge as others have noted, but was suitable for two travelers. I would note that the rooms have very limited closet space. Cons: The customer service was a bit iffy. Upon check in, the staff member was not very friendly or informative, an experience we found to be true of all the staff we encountered. The bathroom didn't smell super clean. It had a weird lingering space reminiscent of a public restroom. Tip: Don't pay for the hotel breakfast, instead do a la carte at the bakery. It's much cheaper.

Yelp
Modern, clean hotel, lovely location, just a few tiny misses. There is something delightful about the hallways smelling like a bakery. The delicious, non complimentary, breakfast felt a little expensive at $10 as you can get a pretty amazing, customized, breakfast out around town for that. While the actual bakery has some seriously fancy baked goods, those don't really make it to the breakfast station. They have tiny muffins, breads, meats, fruits, fresh juice and a keurig. I would've rather they rolled it into the cost of the room. The rooms are tiny but have everything you need. Wi-fi is a little iffy and slow. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - It just need it to be clean, and it was to the utmost percent. The insulation was not great and you could hear people around the hotel and the street below pretty clearly. My biggest upset was that when taking a shower, water got everywhere. There was a hole between the glass door and the tile. The first time I chalked it up to human error but nothing I would do could get it to stop. It was just obnoxious and took away any relaxation from the massive above shower head which I otherwise would've loved. The lounge area doesn't have natural light and doesn't really lend itself to lounging. Since the room was so small I would've liked another option to read in and prop my feet up after walking around. For the price this place is an absolute gem. Unless you're going to spend a bunch this is likely one of your best bets. I will stay I stayed at the Garden Praktik, close by and the same price point, for the other half of the trip and enjoyed it much more. Long story short, book with confidence, it'll be nice.

Yelp
We couldnt use the AC cause it was winter and the whole building is central heat and air, so once they turned the heater on for the previous week's cold weather, we were screwed. Had to crack the windows to chill the room. Only problem with that was the construction on the street corner lasted til 2am which means itll hopefully not be a problem soon. Superb breakfast. I cant wait to get home and try making some of the breads they have. Room was clean and minimal. Maybe 12x12' with 30" tv(who needs it). Central to many attractions and transport. Overall will decor and ambience included, cant pass it up

Yelp
This place is the best place to stay in Barcelona in my opinion. It is very close to all important places in City, also very easy to get from the airport. Staff really nice and helpful. Rooms are not big, but comfortable. Quite strange is entry for the room (just after main doors you 're In a bathroom, from where you can enter sleeping room). If you go to Barcelona to sightseeing, you'll only sleep there. It is worth to mention that windows are really good isolated from outside (inside there is really quiet). Room is also equipped with clima and safe deposit. Room was cleaned every day Really nice is fact that on a ground floor there is bakery. During the night (from 3 am) you can smell fresh bread. Breakfast costs 8€, so those are not too expensive and are quite good . Hotel has got public toilets at -1, and language room.

Yelp
Affordable, clean and comfortable hotel conveniently located near the Passeig de Gracia and Gaudi's La Pedrera and Casa Batllo. The room was not big but a good size for 2 people. The staff was helpful and accommodating. We opted not to pay for the hotel buffet breakfast at 9 euros per person but purchased our own coffee, pastries, and sandwiches from the bakery at a very affordable price point! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I cannot say enough about this hotel! Staying above a bakery was amazing. We smelt the bread and pastries baking every morning/all night. The staff was very friendly and gave great recommendations and tips during our stay in Barcelona. Rooms were very clean and modern, although a bit small. I would just be sure that you are staying with someone you are comfortable with as well, as the shower sort of leads out to the main room. Hotel was also in a great location, just off of the Passeig de Gracia and within walking distance to the Sagrada Familia. There were lots of great restaurants nearby. I would definitely return here!

Yelp
This charming hotel is located in a great area of L'Eixample, close to Passieg de Gracia and the more quaint Gracia neighborhood of Barcelona. You're hit with the smell of freshly-baked bread before stepping through the door, but when you do you're greeted with a glass case and baskets piled high with freshly baked bread, fresh pastries, and a few grab-and-go options perfect for lunch. This place gets packed on weekend mornings but the queues moves quickly. There are also two queues - the first for bread and pastries to take away, and the second for pastries and coffee which can be eaten at tables in the back or on a small outdoor terrace. Seating is a bit hard to come by first thing in the morning, as hotel guests get first dibs. However, it's a great place to stop for a mid-morning cafe con leche or an afternoon treat. Try the white chocolate croissant (so flakey!) or the fig tart.

Yelp
This hotel was well priced clean, comfortable and conveniently located . I would recommend this hotel to anyone ! The service is amazing . Ruth helped me find a spa when I was jet lagged and sore . she looked up multiple numbers and helped me call everyone of them . I am so appreciative for her service :-).

Yelp
The hotel is a concept built around ground floor that houses a real live bakery. You can actually watch them bake their delicious goods. The rooms are quite small but are organized in a fashion that is very efficient and therefore good. The hotel is brand spanking new so the beds and all are not up to discussion Each room seems to have a large flat screen TV, telephone, WIFI (fast). I would come back here any time.

Yelp
I had a great stay at Hotel Praktik. Not only did the hotel smell great with the bakery in the lobby, but it exceeded all of my expectations for being a 3 star rated hotel on Trip Advisor. The room itself is not that big, but since I was alone it was the perfect size for me. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet allowing me to get a good night's rest. The metro was easily accessible and it was walking distance to many of the sights I visited. I would definitely look into staying here if you're in Barcelona and do not want to spend an arm and a leg on a hotel room.

Yelp
Loved this hotel. Spent 3 nights here and slept great. The beds were comfortable, the rooms quiet and calming, and it was the perfect millennial minimalist's room. Free WiFi made it easy to plan our days of sightseeing. The bakery downstairs feels like something out of a story book - the food is almost too pretty to eat, and I loved eating amongst their plentiful and lovely ferns and other green leafy plants. The breakfast buffet is completely worth it - unlimited coffee and a variety of sweet and savory pastries with house-made jams and fillings (my favorite being the marmalade). The location is also very walkable to a number of sights, bars, and restaurants. We walked to La Sagrada Familia and all the way down Las Ramblas to the water. Would gladly recommend this place to a friend, and say in another Praktik Hotel during future travels.

Yelp
What a great hotel!! I really enjoyed my stay here, very clean, nice staff, free wifi and of course the awesome bakery right inside the hotel. Feels great walking downstairs every morning to grab breakfast before starting our day.

Yelp
Very clean cute hotel. Small, but all you do is sleep there. Bakery goods are awesome. The location is great. Very nice neighborhood. Great tapas bar around the corner.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee & pastries places esp on a rainy day sitting by the glass ceiling

Yelp
centrally located rooms kind of a hipster hotel with pricey bakery downstairs, I don't understand why hotels like this don't have fridges, when we asked staff two days in a row where the ice machine was or for ice they were rude and nonchalant. will skip this place next time
