Hôtel Récamier

"How did it strike you on arrival?Under the supervision of a passionate owner, a run-down two-star hotel was in 2009 revived into this sophisticated Left Bank inn that evokes the apartment of a well-traveled art and history buff. Accented by the hotel’s signature scent, the interiors by Jean-Louis Deniot are contemporary and bright, warmed by reclaimed wood tables, metallic sculptures, and original artwork and unique objets sourced from around the world. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Guests gather in the lounge or on the terrace for breakfast before heading out to explore the chic surrounding Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood, then trade stories of the day over drinks in the evening. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Spread out over the townhouse’s six floors, the 24 rooms run small, but have been enlivened by eclectic décor; think Art Deco meets tribal art, with lots of patterned fabrics, bold photographs, and shiny mirrors. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Higher category rooms have terraces and Nespresso machines, while all have flatscreen TVs, minibars and complimentary water. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The cozy bathrooms—most with showers only, a few with tubs—are outfitted with Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes, slippers, and house-brand toiletries. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Free Wi-Fi flows throughout the hotel. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. There's no full restaurant, but a charming afternoon tea is served daily, and drinks—and room service—are available until 10:45pm. In-room massages can be arranged, as can babysitting services. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Services are limited and rooms can be small, but a family-run vibe, attention to design, and prime location in the heart of the Left Bank make this a good value." - Sandra Ramani

Having previously visited Paris, and staying on the Champs-Élysées, we were looking for someplace and little more Parisian! A family friend had stayed at Hotel Recamier and highly recommended it to us. It certainly did not disappoint. Of course we toured the iconic Parisian highlights, but we found Hotel Recamier to be wonderful in all aspects - everything was excellent! Furthermore, the location is great for walking around and experience the "vibe" of Paris. The cafe's, the neighbourhood, shops, markets, restaurants and bars within walking distance were "real" Paris! We would highly recommend Hotel Recamier to anyone that wants a true Parisian stay!

My husband and I just stayed at Hotel Recamier last week. Although we stayed for only one night ahead of a flight back to the U.S., we were treated amazingly well. They generously upgraded us to a larger room, which was gorgeous. The staff are kind, helpful and attentive in all the right ways. It was super hot the day we were there, and the A/C in the hotel and our room specifically, was fantastic. Without a doubt, my next trip to Paris will include a stay at Hotel Recamier!

The hotel is in a quiet square by Saint Sulpice, but you are just a few minutes walk from the centre of Saint Germain and the Jardín de Luxembourg. An ideal location.||We booked the Club room which is fairly large by Paris standards, there’s good daylight in the room, no noise at night, comfortable bed, good shower. It’s all you need really. ||There’s a lot of high end hotels in Paris where you’ll pay treble or quadruple these rates, but what for? Paris is a city break so you will be out sightseeing all day and in brasseries during the evening. Why pay crazy rates for somewhere to sleep (I’ve done that in the past 😁).||There’s pretty much everything you need for breakfast, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, pastries, smoked salmon, eggs any way you like, and great unlimited coffee. ||Saint Germain is a cool place to be, and there are a lot of good small boutique hotels like this one to choose from, but based on this visit I would definitely stay here again, in fact we’re already planning the next visit! Can’t fault this place, would definitely recommend.

What a lovely boutique hotel experience in Paris. Great location in the Saint Germain area and walkable to so many sites. The hotel staff were so attentive to our every need and desire. We included breakfast in the salon as part of our 4-night stay and was so nice. Would definitely recommend Hotel Récamier to anyone wanting a quaint Paris hotel experience.

Enjoyed staying here. Great location. Charming boutique hotel with a Parisian feel. The service was great. Also enjoyed some afternoon tea daily. Came here as 3 friends and used the adjoining rooms.

What a wonderful experience! We missed our flight and last minute needed to find a place to stay in Paris, Madame Cecile was so helpful and accommodating from the get go. We could have not chosen a better hotel to stay at for a couple of days! We wished we could have extended our stay. The staff is superb. The location is excellent and the rooms are comfortable. We will definitely be back to this gem of a hotel.

We were fortunate enough to spend 6 nights in Paris at the Hotel Recamier. Along with an excellent location, the staff, ambiance, size and comforts made coming home at the end of a great day truly welcome. Everyone on staff were upbeat and welcoming and it all added to a wonderful adventure in Paris for my wife and I. Thank you!

Yelp
Hotel Recamier is a very special small hotel that comes with all the benefits. The personal attention from the front desk (Cecilia, Marina, and Bruno) is amazing. They are an incredible team and can answer any question and offer a personal touch. They managed to have our rooms ready for early morning arrivals on both of our past trips. The entire staff make this an extremely smooth, enjoyable experience. The location is ideal. It is tucked away in a quiet corner across from Saint-Suplice near shopping, the taxi stand, the Seine, beautiful old churches, and fabulous cafes. The rooms are so quiet. Can't say enough nice things.

Yelp
This is a cozy boutique hotel tucked away in the corner near St Sulpice in the center of Paris. The staff are warm and welcoming. The breakfast is generous with baguettes, cheese, cold cuts, and fresh fruit. The restaurants in the neighborhood are an easy walk nearby.

Yelp
Charming hotel in the heart of Paris. They treated me so well on my birthday ... my room overlooked the courtyard and I felt very warm and welcomed here. The breakfast is freshly cooked for you and served in a lovely outdoor courtyard or in their cozy dining area. Tea & cocktails are also served here in the afternoons. You are steps away from the best shopping & cafes. Easy to rent a bike for exploring. Stay here.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful boutique hotel in the center of everything. Walking distance to most all of the sights in Paris, quiet area with amazing shops, cafes, and restaurants. Staff is spectacular and the breakfast and afternoon tea are fantastic.

Yelp
I visited the Recamier some months ago before Covid. It is a small hotel with a great location and was recommended by someone I trust who lived in France many years. Unfortunately, the hotel is worn out, and the prices are high. At most this is a $200 room. Don't pay more. I took the following notes during my stay. - Didn't give us water - Broken toilet cover - Small bathroom - Ripped towels - Allergies - Things fell out of closet - Clogged drain - Plastic shower basin - No breakfast room. Or near the floor and cramped - Tiny rooms - Tiny night tables - Tiny bathroom - $200 room maximum only for location. Maybe a 3 star hotel - Pillows and blankets stuffed behind cabinet on floor. - Bad lighting - impossible to figure out how to turn on and off - Quiet - Crappy breakfast with canned fruit. Crappy meat. - Nowhere to put anything next to bed I believe this hotel is owned by an individual and they are obviously milking the property based on historical good reviews from when it was newly renovated and repaired. It is not what it was. I will say it's one saving grace was the gentleman who put out the breakfast food and was attentive and nice and trying to do his best under difficult circumstances, and someone I would hire myself. It seemed like he was all alone.

Yelp
This Hotel was one of the most charming (and not in the old, weird way, in the kind and stylish way) boutique hotels I have ever stayed. The staff were incredibly attentive and generous, from the manager to the young woman who cleaned our room. They acted like our patronage mattered and they made every effort to give us a special experience. The rooms are small, but accommodated with all the modern and high end finishes a hotel like this must have. They cleaned our room completely once a day, and tidied it up twice a day. The hotel did not include breakfast, but they do include a tea service in the sitting room which was quite lovely, dare I say civilized. The Hotel Racamier manages all these things without being hoity-toity. I can't capture this place in words, but I'll try: beautiful, warm, French, clean, special, boutique, stylish, fancy, modern, delightful.

Yelp
Very cute boutique hotel. I must admit the hotel overall was much smaller than I expected but it is well designed and very chic. Location is perfect for exploring Saint Germain and surrounding areas. Overall a bit overpriced but that's Paris for you, a very expensive city!

Yelp
Great location, wonderful staff, nice rooms, and Fragonard bath products. Showers are pretty nice, and rooms have blackout curtains which can be good or bad - you may sleep the day away if you don't realize it's daylight out! Breakfast is also good, with fresh juice, eggs cooked to order, and the usual fixings you get at a hotel breakfast. Don't expect luxury but overall cute place just a few blocks from the Jardin de Luxembourg, Gerard Mulot's croissants, and Le Comptoir du Relais. It's also diagonally across the Place St Sulpice from Pierre Herme!
