Hotel Alpenblick

An unforgettable place filled with romance. With attentive staff and authentic décor, the hotel lets you experience the traditional atmosphere of the Swiss Alps at a reasonable price.

We paid for a Jr. Suite on Booking.com at $470USD per night. We were provided with a Standard Double Room, valued at $236 USD per night. Upon providing documentation showing the room we actually booked, we got a "free" glass of champagne as an apology. No room change, no refund (3 x nights at $204 per night should have been refunded). Essentially, it felt like we were taken advantage of (and we were). Combine that with experiencing the tall, younger dark-haired server in the restaurant throwing tantrums two days in a rom - slamming doors to the outer patio, raging to his co-workers about English guests out there, smashing glasses on the first night and dropping and entire stack of dishes on the second night - the Restaurant, supposedly a Michelin starred facility, served mediocre food at best. The breakfast provided was also the weakest selection and the most medicore taste of any hotel we stayed in Switzerland over the course of three weeks. It is our strongest recommendation that another lodging in Wilderswil be secured for anyone considering this place. The Hotel Baeren right next door has excellent, tasty food, pleasant, accommodating service, and is a tantrum and rip-off-free environment.

This beautiful hotel is full of character and history. It’s just a short, flat walk from Wilderswil station, ideally located for all the main day excursions. The Schynige Platte railway departs from Wilderswil station, which is especially convenient.|The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The meals were outstanding – breakfast offered an excellent variety of fresh, tasty options, and the evening meals were top quality. We were even provided with picnic lunches featuring healthy food, such as fresh apples and pears from the September harvest.|Our room was clean and well equipped, with a powerful shower and a very comfortable bed. I enjoyed sleeping with the window open and hearing the gentle sound of the fountains as I drifted off.|All in all, it was an amazing week organised by Great Rail Journeys, and I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Alpenblick.

We were on a train holiday and the hotel was a 10 minute walk from the station. The hotel was a classic large Swiss chalet on varying levels, all of wood with an annexe across a single track cul-de-sac quiet road on the edge of the village, making for a very peaceful atmosphere. Our room was a reasonable size, ensuite with wood floors. As with everything in Switzerland, everything was spotless. We were on a group holiday with 37 of us and the value, when taking in all the amazing places we visited, made it good value. There are two restaurants, one of which is on the first floor, which was quite cramped, possibly because of the size of our group. The main restaurant, on the ground floor was much larger. The service was quite disorganised, not that it spoilt it for us.

COMPLETELY DELIGHTED WITH OUR STAY AT THE ALPENBLICK HOTEL.|We cannot find any complaints in any departments. The food was outstanding as were the staff and cleanliness of this Alpine paradise. We would recommend to all our friends.

We have just returned from staying at this beautiful hotel from the moment we arrived we were treated like part of the family, our room was full of charm and clean we had a lovely warm room to come back to each evening, The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice of bread, the staff were amazing and very friendly as were the owners who were there all the time to ask questions We ate at the hotel every night and had the most delicious meal ever Christmas Eve was very special and we were treated to a wonderful dinner and the most beautiful Christmas story that was read by the owners daughter, the hotel was in a perfect location very close to the station and bus stop , all in all we are taking back so many happy memories thank you to all

I was leading a group of thirty to the Swiss Alps and the service and welcome we received at the Alpenblick was outstanding. Food and drink excellent, the property is full of alpine character. The staff were all very attentive and professional.

While incompletely respect the employee's perspective, this review is from a guest's point of view as compared to the other review I see on here. Our stay at Hotel Alpenblick was nice. Front desk staff was very delightful upon check in and continued to be helpful throughout our stay. We were given passes for the bus which got us into Interlachen conveniently and runs once an hour. The small separation in Wilderswil was just enough to stay away from the throngs of Chinese and Arab tourists. The hotel can be a little warm during a heatwave because it is a 400-year-old building and there is no air-conditioning. But opening the windows provided some relief from the heat. We were treated to a personal fireworks display on the Swiss national holiday and a concert in the town square on August 2. Overall a nice day and would recommend it to fellow travelers.
