We paid for a Jr. Suite on Booking.com at $470USD per night. We were provided with a Standard Double Room, valued at $236 USD per night. Upon providing documentation showing the room we actually booked, we got a "free" glass of champagne as an apology.
No room change, no refund (3 x nights at $204 per night should have been refunded).
Essentially, it felt like we were taken advantage of (and we were).
Combine that with experiencing the tall, younger dark-haired server in the restaurant throwing tantrums two days in a rom - slamming doors to the outer patio, raging to his co-workers about English guests out there, smashing glasses on the first night and dropping and entire stack of dishes on the second night - the Restaurant, supposedly a Michelin starred facility, served mediocre food at best.
The breakfast provided was also the weakest selection and the most medicore taste of any hotel we stayed in Switzerland over the course of three weeks.
It is our strongest recommendation that another lodging in Wilderswil be secured for anyone considering this place. The Hotel Baeren right next door has excellent, tasty food, pleasant, accommodating service, and is a tantrum and rip-off-free environment.
