"Plenty of regulars come here to enjoy the regional and international cuisine served à la carte or in the form of a four-course set menu – a vegetarian version is also available. Diners can sit in one of the cosy dining rooms or on the courtyard terrace to enjoy the seasonal dishes. The guestrooms are ideal for overnight stays." - Michelin Inspector

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant…the food, the wine, the atmosphere, and the hosts! The owner immediately sat our table of four and asked us what we wanted to drink, we said red wine and he brought out a delicious cuvée from Landau. Amazing wine for a great price. I ordered the four course menu and was delighted with my choice. Every course was delicious and the timing was on point. Scallops with salad, fish with mashed potatoes and lobster sauce, steak wrapped in bacon (cooked medium amazing), spinach and potatoes au gratin, and crème brûlée with ice cream and fruit (best I’ve ever had). Not to mention everyone at the table received bread with a spread and radishes as well as a gnocchi from the chef. The hosts were so friendly and attentive. I’ve been going here for 10 years and it only gets better.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience dining here from the food to the service. It's also in a very charming building. We ordered the set menu which had 4 courses and wine with the appetizer and main entre (thanks to the waiter's recommendation). Everything was delicious!! We hear the menu changes frequently so we will be coming here regularly for sure. Perfect romantic date night that didn't break the bank.

This is a very good restaurant; should you go I'd recommend dress pants and a collared shirt. We went to a birthday party, received a 5 course meal, knives and forks (3 each) were placed in the correct positions. The lamb was cooked to perfection. Wait staff is friendly and did a good job distributing food.

I am reviewing both the hotel and the restaurant. I give five stars to both. For the hotel, it was clean, warm, and cozy. The breakfast was perfect with freshly-made eggs to order and the typical German fare, including coffee and juice. The restaurant, which requires reservations even on a weeknight, was fancy, interesting to the palate, and all around a delight. Magnificently executed. I look forward to seeing them earn their first star someday.

The room was spacious, modern, clean, with a balcony. Pleasant owners, nicely renovated, while maintaining the charm of the original building. While I didn't have time to eat dinner there, it looked and smelled great (I intend to stay for a few days on the next trip to enjoy same).

I have to say I am extremely impressed with Claudia and her staff at Hotel Kolbl. My co-worker and I stayed for 2 weeks. This hotel is very clean and comfortable. The restaurant, was amazing! Most of the staff spoke fluent English, which was very helpful when recommending delicious food on their menu. I highly recommend you stay here while you travel around Germany. You will have a very relaxing and comfortable stay!||||Thank you Claudia, for an amazing stay!

Excellent European cuisine, menu, top professional cooking & serving staff. Good value for money with special lunch menus weekdays with court yard dining in Spring/Summer. Recently renovated rooms & toilets. Friendly multi-lingual family owners. Close to train station for access to most major German cities and Paris FR via connections in Kaiserslautern DE. Always a pleasant experience!
