"There is no question as to the rich heritage of the Barrière de Transinne, but rather than the ubiquitous olde worlde clichés, this former hunting lodge is a picture of modernity and Ardennes hospitality. Enticing gastronomic nosh is served à la carte and in set menus (named after the owners’ sons). A fervent upholder of Gallic culinary traditions, the Barrière respects its region and the seasons." - Michelin Inspector
Simply put, fantastic stay there during a training nearby. The room was so comfortable! Moreover, it is a top notch restaurant, and you can also ask for and enjoy some nice Belgian beers with your friends after dinner in the hall rooms. Highly recommended.

We booked the hotel for 2 nights and dinned in the restaurant both nights. They offer some set menus with or without wine pairing or a la carte. We chose a wine pairing menu, and the food was excellent and beautifully presented. We discovered new wines, and each dish was perfectly paired. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Lovely hotel in the Ardennes. Very close to the book town Redu. Warmly welcomed by all employees. Staff made every effort to make our stay perfect. Rooms large. Comfy beds. Large bathroooms. It's at the junction of a roundabout but had absolutely no traffic noise. Nice bar area but fireplace doesn't draw properly and fills bar room with smoke. Had a lovely dinner with delicious house wine. Small private sauna area available but must be booked. Didn't have breakfast as felt 12 euros a person a bit dear. Otherwise a great value for money and would highly recommend.

We stayed one night at the hotel. The diner was very good! Great Flemish Asperges, good fish and very tasteful meat. Also the selection of wines is great.|The room is luxurious but the flat screen tv is rather small but you got free WiFi, so not such a big deal. The breakfast is only till 10:00 o’clock on a Sunday morning and when you arrive at a quarter to ten you get the feeling to be a little bit to late to have the full offering of choices.

Had a very pleasant stay here over the Easter weekend. Quick check-in and check- out. The rooms were Also extremely clean. I don’t think that I’ve ever seen such a clean room. The bed was also very comfortable. The shower was powerful too (the door didn’t close properly though, room 33.) However, the noise from the swinging doors between the bed and bathroom from the other rooms kept waking me up. Other guests should really be more considerate but pls get rid of them or find another solution. You can’t teach guests manners but you can do something about these annoying doors.

I've stayed here plenty of times and always like it. The rooms are well provisioned and comfortable, especially if you get one in the converted barn/hunter's lodge. The location is gorgeous, surrounded by woods and the quaint village of Redu just a stone's throw away. Just don't go wandering through the woods during the hunting season.
The food in the restaurant is exceptional and the chef is even willing to provide vegetarian dishes if requested (almost everything on the menu has meat in some shape or form).
Only 4 stars because lodging + food can get expensive quite quickly.

Had a very pleasant stay. Room was well-appointed with a cute little kids room attached. Breakfast was very good.
Dinner also to a high standard, with an excellent selection of local brews to accompany it.
