We stayed here for two nights in June . We had a very warm welcome and were shown to our room . 14 with a small outside area. The carpark is tight with a 4x4 but we did it.! A cool room with aircon a good bathroom and quirky bedroom furniture, very french. The breakfast is good and was taken outside in the garden . We had the 5 course Gourmand menu it was outstanding in taste , presentation and choice. Service was excellent from everyone , friendly, polite and professional. Lovely pool in the garden , a few minutes walk from the centre of Amboise. The chateau and Clos Da vinci are not to be missed. The town is fabulous buzzy and there are lots of places to eat drink and people watch. A great stop over on our journey south . Would stay again .

On the final 2 nights of our 16 night stay in France we treated ourselves to a suite at this lovely hotel. We were delighted with the huge area: large and exceptionally comfortable bed with quality linen, seating area, second bedroom (which we decadently used as a dressing room), good bathroom with ample space and a great shower over the bath, all overlooking the fabulous garden.||The service was great, lovely welcome on check in and very friendly on checkout.||Our only slight niggle was that our water wasn’t replenished and it was too late after realising for us to go to reception.||Beautiful room, great location close to town.||Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Hotel Clos d’Amboise! The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The little touches made it very special, including the soap products in the bathroom that smell delicious. We enjoyed a very special dinner in their restaurant. It truly reminded us of the only 3 Michelin Star restaurant in our home region. The hotel is located in a walkable small town near to many sights and wonderful restaurants and cafes. We would highly recommend Hotel Clos d’Amboise!

I had to pleasure of staying at Hôtel Restaurant Le Clos d'Amboise when visiting the region. We arrived later in the evening but was still greeted with warm hospitality. Knowing that we did not have any dinner plans nor reservation, they kindly offered to have the bar make a charcuterie plate for us. It turned out to be a lovely "dinner" in the lounge area where we enjoyed the fire place and some board games. We couldn't have asked for anything better after a long day of travel. As for the room itself, we were upgraded to a larger room which we appreciated. There was modern amenities within the room itself and also in the bathroom. Towel heaters were a plus during this time of the year and we slept like babies. In the morning, we finally got to view the property in all its glory and what a lovely treat it was! The garden was quaint and perfect place to sit quietly and have a cup of coffee in the morning. My favorite was definitely the lovely service we received from everyone, including front desk, restaurant staff and housekeeping. I highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

This was a great place to stay in Amboise. Good location near restaurants and sights. Easy to get out of the city by car for day trips. Dinner was excellent. And a swimming pool for those hot days after sightseeing!

We booked this hotel about 7 months in advance, staying for 4 nights, and were given what was probably the worst room in the hotel. It was squeezed into the attic with two slanted sides in both the bedroom and the bathroom.||It was impossible to get in and out of the bed without banging your head on the wall. Likewise, there was a skylight strategically placed over the toilet to give more headroom, but you still hit your head standing up. You couldn’t stand up in the bathtub without bending. Trying to shower with the handheld spray only drenched the bathroom floor. I would have thought a 4-star hotel would know that Americans shower every day!! The receptionist only commented “some people prefer baths to showers”||The hotel’s website’s photos of the bedroom showed no resemblance to reality. Although the website quoted square-footage, that might have been true at feet level, but a head level it was probably half that. ||This might have been a good review had it not been for the allocation of this room. This is not the expected treatment from a 4-star hotel. This room should never have been used without being warned in advance that it is an inferior room.

Yelp
Great restaurant experience. The five and seven course prix fixe are good values. The service and food are top notch. Great wine list from the region.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights as part of a bike tour of the Loire Valley. The room was beautifully appointed and spacious, with a beautiful view of the courtyard and the spires of the chateaux behind it. The service was excellent, and the location was great, walking distance to everything in town. We also enjoyed the lovely pool surrounded by gardens and bird song. The restaurant on site had delicious food for both breakfast and dinners.

Yelp
This is a wonderful hotel. Very beautiful gardens and relaxing rooms. Had a spectacular stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast was really nice in wonderfully appointed rooms. It was a great contrast with our stay in Paris. Also, our room did have air conditioning, so it may be wise to ask when booking.

Yelp
This is an ok hotel but it's not a four star like it advertises. Reasons: just ok room decor, a hair on my sheets, some minor stains, a pigeon roost above my window so there was debris and pigeon feathers on my bed when I came back, nice front desk attendant when he is there, broken fixtures in the bathroom left broken. All No big deal if a suite (number 21) didn't cost 295euros per night. If you want a hotel in the area that sets the standard at four and probably approaches five star, check out Hotel Domaine de la Tortiniere.

Yelp
Enjoyable little place to hide away. Next to everything really. Appreciated that the night staff didn't mind us staying up late and reading our jet lag away into the wee hours. Also a wonderful breakfast! Thanks!

Yelp
Wonderful old hotel. Inside the gate is a great jarden and swimming pool. Rooms are relaxing and all are uniquely decorated. Private free parking is a bonus. Staff is extremely helpful and willing to do anything to make your stay comfortable. No a/c in the rooms but the tall ceilings and shade from trees make it comfy

Yelp
Looking for a one night get away from Paris for our 24th wedding anniversary, my wife, after much research, choose this hotel. This was a lovely choice for many reasons. The location is on a quiet street quite near the center of town. The property, an ancient manor house, gives onto beautifully manicured grounds with some of the most magnificent trees imaginable. Toward the back of the gardens is a lovely swimming pool for use in better weather than unfortunately we experienced during our stay. But, never mind. We stayed in one of their basic rooms on the top floor (room 10) and couldn't have been happier. It was as if we were invited into someones home with a guest room only for us. Breakfast, included, is served in the main room on the ground floor and featured a very nice spread of delicious food. The staff of this hotel is helpful and professional without being stuffy. I would highly recommend staying here and I hope that we have the opportunity to stay here again in the not too distant future.
