Le Quincangrogne

"On the banks of the Marne, over the years, these buildings have housed a mill, a guinguette and even a retirement home before their transformation into a hotel-restaurant. In the kitchen is Franck Charpentier, a chef with quite a CV, including several Michelin-starred restaurants in luxury hotels. A fan of authentic taste experiences, he treats his diners to a simple menu that revolves around high-quality regional produce. Fine and precise combinations of flavours, meticulous and well-crafted visuals: a meal here is a delight from start to finish. In season, you can even enjoy the terrace with its view of the river." - Michelin Inspector

We came to eat with at the restaurant, 2 adults and 2 kids. The place itself is simple, classic nice, and quiet. Staff wasn’t very proficient in English, but friendly, and we managed. Service was a bit too slow for a meal with kids, but ok. Most of the amuse bouche and starters weren’t to our liking. We did enjoy the dried green pea soup mostly. The mains were great, both the saint jacques and fish, and same for the kids fish chicken and their side of purre. We didn’t enjoy the desserts too much, the pear and black current felt a bit lacking in flavor and sweetness. The wines glasses had were both amazing (Château la Bessane Margaux and Château La Négly “Le Cote” Languedoc) and went well with the mains. I felt the restaurant serves solid classic meals, but think the starters and desserts can be better)

AVOID!! We visited so many star restaurants however this one is totally NOT qualified. Here are the reasons: We arrived super on time for our reservation as 12:45pm. Upon arrival, a small family (3ppl) were waiting to be seated, my husband and I were the second. After that another couple came. After waiting for 15 mins (even the conceige pressed the Bell a couple times to urge waiters to come), the waiter came finally but served the latest couple a table first ?!!!! Then the small family then us. When the time we arrived the table and had the menu on our hands, was already 13:05pm. We ordered immediately for the tasting menu. The chubby lady simply told us, after 1300 cannot order this. We said we arrived already at 12:45, it’s not our fault for ordering late. She was so arrogant and said, „sorry, NO“. The other man with suit also came and said „No, sorry“ and made us feel „you can leave now“. Of course (as pic), with this rude and arrogant attitudes, we stood up at 13:09 and left. We didn’t want to spend ANYMORE SECONDS and ANY CENT there. In the pic were the concierge man and the rude woman. We drove 30 mins just wanted to try but never deserve this arrogant attitude. Totally the restaurant does not deserve any stars or even can be found in the star App. Our experience is not the first time, can read the rest of the people’s review, can easy figure out it’s their normal behaviours to customers. We felt like we were there to beg for food or something. Would NEVER recommend anyone to go and spend money there. Zero service given, No excuse.

Don't even try to stay here, it's terribile. Logis hotel should be ashamed to include this **** in their inventory. In the middle of nowhere between the railroad and the river. The room was dirty and poor, without air conditioning. I've been tricked by the restaurant, that I've booked more than 1 month ago and find out one day before that was closed!!! Simply book another place.

We made a reservation for this restaurant and it was confirmed. With my 2 little children I drove 40 minutes to get to the restaurant. Me and my husband looked so much forward to it. Well, founding out that they had NO table, our table got cancelled without even noticing! They did not call us, text or email us. They couldn't do anything for us than sending us home and giving us a table for another day. No solution, no remorse just pure arrogance. We dine a lot in Michelin restaurants and never ever experienced something like this in my whole entire life. This is not okay, you should have come up with at least something because we drove 40 mins to get there with 2 little children that were hungry and asking for food. This restaurant definitely needs to learn how to treat customers.

This is a very nice hotel with a good French cuisine restaurant. The hotel is comfortable and the breedings are comfy. The personnel is very amicable and always ready to help. Rooms are clean and contain all necessary amenities. He restaurant is a gourmet modern cuisine with revisited traditional dishes and pure creations. The location is along the quiet river Marne. This is peaceful. I decided to extend my stay.

We stayed here for 1 night on a cycling trip. The receptionist was one of the most pleasant front of house people I have ever met. The room was as it should be, and had a small balcony looking over the garden and onto the river. There is a nice walk along the old haulage path, a bit overgrown in spots but a lovely place to be on a misty fine morning with only the river birds for company. ||Their Michelin star restaurant was “too gourmet” for the cycling men’s needs, so that is a pleasure that will have to await my return.

Where do I start - trouble started from booking, should have read the signs. Hotel cancelled our booking 3 times before confirming and each time I rebooked, the price went up. We were so desperate for accommodation - I had to rebook. ||We booked to stay 5 nights - our flight got cancelled due to the strikes in Paris - so our stay was cut short to 4 nights - I rang the hotel to advise them we would be flying in a day late (I didn’t care paying for the missed night) - they confirmed all was ok. However that was not the case and on arrival we were told our room was not available anymore / even though I had called and advised them. They had already charged the full amount to my card as well. After he could see we were all visibly upset he made arrangements and got us a room. He did manage to slip in a sly comment “I will have to tell someone they can’t stay here tonight” - how is this my problem? ||On arrival - the man at the front, I think he was the manager (wore glasses) was so rude. Every time I asked a question he would sigh, very loud & roll his eyes. This type of attitude is unacceptable.||We booked a junior suite - it was comfortable - the only downfall, no air conditioning and it gets really hot and unbearable. We slept with the window open and got bit by mosquitoes, can’t win. Room was not serviced properly, amenities not refilled - towels just chucked onto the bed. Disgusting. ||Location - nothing is nearby. No food shops, beware if you do stay here, you are not allowed to take food in - as they expect you to eat from the room service menu or the “Michelin” star restaurant. ||Everything left such a bad taste in our mouths - we stayed 2 nights but paid for 5. |I was happy to wave that place goodbye. ||Highlight - The 3 ducks that roam the property. ||I have stayed in many hotels and this one is the worst.

Excellent address, highly recommend! Delicious food, very well presented, nice service and very present chef ensuring that his guests have a great time (eg serving himself partly). First time I have been to this restaurant and not the last time. In addition it's well located at the Marne River, beautiful nature.
