We were 2 people, had the 4 course dinner, I really enjoyed the experience.
The dining room is beautifully and carefully designed, overlooking the river, the little train passing by is just adorable. Made me wish to have arrived earlier and take a walk in the surroundings before dinner.
The service was attentive with some minor flaws, but that is just in general always the case for me in Austria (I’m just an annoying Italian I guess). They did not notice that we were missing forks until we said so. The younger waiter was a bit too forward and brisk in his ways. The choice of the plates was sometimes a bit unfortunate (the dessert was made of different ice creams on a warm, flat plate, they melted immediately and being the plate flat leaked on the table). But these small things aside we were treated marvellously, the chef came to our table and was super nice, I appreciated this a lot.
I enjoyed everything that was served, of course some things more than others but this was based on my personal taste, in general everything was excellent, carefully thought out, not extremely creative (but you should do the 12 course OIS experience for that, I guess) but well performed, playing with consistencies especially. The wine pairing was just outstanding, big kudos to the sommelier.
With 2 menus, one wine pairing, 2 bottles of water and 2 coffees we spent 108 euros each which I found to be a very good value for my money.
This was hands down my best gastronomic experience in upper Austria since I live here, thank you for a wonderful evening.
