Hotel-Restaurant Mühltalhof

We were 2 people, had the 4 course dinner, I really enjoyed the experience. The dining room is beautifully and carefully designed, overlooking the river, the little train passing by is just adorable. Made me wish to have arrived earlier and take a walk in the surroundings before dinner. The service was attentive with some minor flaws, but that is just in general always the case for me in Austria (I’m just an annoying Italian I guess). They did not notice that we were missing forks until we said so. The younger waiter was a bit too forward and brisk in his ways. The choice of the plates was sometimes a bit unfortunate (the dessert was made of different ice creams on a warm, flat plate, they melted immediately and being the plate flat leaked on the table). But these small things aside we were treated marvellously, the chef came to our table and was super nice, I appreciated this a lot. I enjoyed everything that was served, of course some things more than others but this was based on my personal taste, in general everything was excellent, carefully thought out, not extremely creative (but you should do the 12 course OIS experience for that, I guess) but well performed, playing with consistencies especially. The wine pairing was just outstanding, big kudos to the sommelier. With 2 menus, one wine pairing, 2 bottles of water and 2 coffees we spent 108 euros each which I found to be a very good value for my money. This was hands down my best gastronomic experience in upper Austria since I live here, thank you for a wonderful evening.

Amazing food and nice staff would recommend

My husband, our baby and I only spent one night at this amazing hotel and we will be back for more! The rooms are furnished in quite a unique style and are very comfortable. The food was obviously amazing. The wellness area was underused by us for sure! I wish I would have discovered it the day we arrived, because then I would have used the sauna and jumped into the river right after! As it was I only used the steamroom. The breakfast buffet left no wishes open.

In this hotel, you primarily go for the food. The chef being one of the more recent uprising stars of the cooking scene, it is well worth the trip! Even my wife who is not easily impressed by food per se, admitted several times that she hadn´t eaten that good in her whole life. The service is immaculate, the dishes extraordinary, elegant, clear and taste like heaven. The restaurant is situated above a small quaint river, with panoramic windows, a very cozy setting, giving you the impression that the real world is miles away. The hotel itself is nice, the architecture a little strange and unusual, but kind of cool. The price for the room is too high in my opinion, but then again, who would want to drive a car after a 6 course carte blanche gourmet dinner with wine degustation? In summer, you can swim in the river, or go boating or biking. Also, they have a very small, but highly professional massage institute. Go there for a special evening of gorgeous dining!

Enjoyed an outstanding lunch with family and took time to savour the local produce cooked beautifully. The restaurant has a wonderful outlook over water and forest and the staff are both knowledgeable and attentive. Loved the fact that field greens such as nettles were included along with all parts of the animal. The wine pairing was very good and a very satisfactory long lunch was had by all.

I spent one night At The hotel and had dinner At The restaurant. The hotel room was Nice and clean. The View on The frozen river was wonderful. Room was Warm and bed was comfortable. The dinner at the restaurant was surprising. I choose The "white card" service, which means that the chef decides what To preparare. All The dishes were good but in particular The hare fillet was incredible. Local beer was very good. The Only weakness, being italian, was The coffee. ...too Long. ...but outside Italy is acceptable.

World-class Restaurant. Everything feels special, it’s an outstanding experience for all of your senses. Can easily compete with the best restaurants in Paris. What I love most about this place is that they get the best quality ingredients and source them locally, plus they keep experimenting and bringing totally new tastes and combinations to the table... love it.

The food was very experimental, the taste explodes in your mouth - that's how uniquely good it is. The staff were very polite and experienced. The view is a lake with phenomenal sites of the beautiful nature of Austria. This was simply an unforgettable experience for me!
