The food is simply excellent. You will not go wrong here, if you are looking for an above average culinary experience. And let's face it: there are more below average restaurants in the region than you would expect. The Talblick certainly stands out for its excellent cuisine, serving local venison and some fine Swabian delicacies, and has a wine list that compliments its fine food. The name Valley View however is somewhat misleading as the view is decidedly not overly attractive, the ambience typical for the region and the service is an experience most could do without. Most people would consider the staff abrupt, some would call them downright rude. However, the fine food makes up for it, and the fact that your table (and 4 other tables) are forgotten on the terrace is not such a big deal. After all it's just a few steps to the bar to remind the staff ("Oh! You are still here") that some 15 people have been sitting in front of empty glasses for half an hour. I guess the experience is typical for a region where you are invited to visit after the 4 o'clock coffee has been served to ensure that you are back home again in time for dinner - you are in the Black Forest after all, and the folks here are a bit peculiar. |Bring with you a healthy appetite and some patience and you will have a great evening.
