Hotel Ristorante La Lanterna

The pizza is excellent, with a perfectly balanced flavor and texture. The service is quick and efficient, ensuring you won't have to wait long to enjoy your meal. The beer selection is solid, complementing the food beautifully. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding a touch of warmth to the dining experience. Prices are fair and reflect the quality of both food and service. What else could you ask for? Highly recommended!

Read first - the food at the ristorante is excellent! We had meals all over Castelnuovo and by far this was one of the best restaurants! The octopus was tender and savory. The tagliata di manzo was tender with an excellent crispy crust. The branzino and vegetables were perfection. Bravo! As for our stay, we ended up at Hotel La Lanterna after a 3 night January stay at a hotel in Castelnuovo where the common areas were not heated -- cold and dreary. Alternatively, La Lanterna is a lovely and warm property. The decor is late 80's but it is well maintained. The rooms show wear and tear but are very clean. The staff are family and are like family - friendly, helpful, warm. I can't wait to stay here when the fantastic pool is open! We'll be back!

Great hotel! Good continental breakfast. They even made eggs for us. Nice garden with swimming pool. The staff is very polite, friendly and accomodating. Ringraziamento speciale a Massimo alla reception!

Great hotel! The rooms||Are very quiet and comfortable and boast gorgeous views of the pool and mountains. The perfect place to wake up! The hotel restaurant is by far the best restaurant we ate at (we say in all of Italy) but definitely in the area, (and we certainly||Tried others) and it's right at your doorstep! The pastas are made fresh in house, and the sauces are delightful!

This is a very nice hotel with very friendly staff, great food and a nice pool. The restaurant was almost empty but I don't know why as the food was delicious and they are very well known (apparently) in the area as the hotel was added on to the restaurant. A short walk from the hotel you have quaint villages to walk around and get a coffee and an ATM, which are few and far between in Garfagnana, particularly as you go further north. The rooms were perfectly adequate although a little cave like, the windows not huge and so you didn't get a great sense of how beautiful the area was. However, they were clean and spacious, good hanging space and large beds.

We spent three nights at La Lanterna for a wedding and had a fantastic stay. The room was fairly basic but clean and had s stunning view of the mountains. The pool is brilliant and never very busy and they allowed our friends with kids to Come and use the facilities. The restaurant is top quality and very affordable. Overall an excellent experience

Stayed here for 3 nights and expected more a vacation hotel instead of a business place. To be clear its a very well maintained hotel , beautiful pool area and gardens . Clean as a whistle and enjoyable terraces . The room is also acceptable , but in general what this place misses is the friendly touch to make you feel at home . Nobody speaks an other language than Italian and there is no service in the mentioned areas . Still have no clue who is in charge or the friendly smile in the morning. About the breakfast they don't serve eggs , Not boiled Not cooked , just not. And the wifi you really have to search, doesn't work at the room but only in the public areas. Even they offer 100+ channels of perfect quality again only Italian , no CNN or BBC ..... and as last the Airco makes a lot of noise and if you switch it off you will hear the neighbors one.

We had a pleasant lunch at La Lanterna, excellent setting in covered terrace. I had maccheroni cacio e pepe followed by tagliata di manzo. Really good quality of food, but a bit pricy for that part of Tuscany. Nice hotel, good service, and large doing room. Plenty of parking available.
