"Centre Saint John Perse Adjacent to the eponymous hotel, this shopping center near the cruise ship terminal in Pointe-a-Pitre has several boutiques stocking colorful island-style jewelry and accessories, and beauty products. It is named after the 19th-century French poet and Nobel laureate who was born and raised in Guadeloupe. You’ll also find local shops surrounding the center selling textiles, arts and crafts, and souvenir trinkets."

Where to start. We first were sent here on assumption by an airport employee that "this is a great hotel". When we arrived we immediately had issues. Which we understood the majority of the island is french speaking but here we had no form of communication with staff. Trying the best we could with an online translator, the staff was unwilling to help us find a taxi the 2 days we were here (staying due to an emergency). Or assist us in finding restaurants. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and nothing seemed open for miles. It was in a secluded area lined with filth. The rooms were nasty, out dated, and the WiFi was horrible to non-existent. The Internet worked in the lobby but not in the rooms. The landlines didn't work, nor did the tv... thankfully we met an English speaking local who drove us to a place for dinner then decided to stay elsewhere for the second night.

We stayed in this lovely room this summer and really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was very helpfull, the room clean and well furnished. We visited on a one day trip the island of les saintes and the location of the hotel is perfect for this kid of day trips. I definitely recommand this hotel if you want to stay in Pointe a Pitre for a few days

Great staff, great location. They let us check in 5 hours earlier than expected, no extra charge. Wi-Fi was without problem. Recommended!

Very friendly stuff, but the room is a nightmare. Not very clean, very old, loud, tiny. And totally over priced.
