Hôtel Scarlett

What a lovely hotel! I usually opt to be closer to Gare du Nord but took a punt on Hotel Scarlett based on price and reviews and was not disappointed. Located on the top floor the room was quiet, comfy with big windows, a super comfy bed, a great shower and a minibar. The staff are friendly and helpful and there's a cool seating and breakfast area off reception. Belleville is a busy vibrant area and there's plenty of places to eat and drink nearby with the hotel conveniently situated down a side street between two metro stations, Belleville (bottom of the hill) and Pyrenees (top of the hill). It's about 20 mins travel time to Gare du Nord and also an easy stroll from the hotel to Pere-Lachaise, Atelier du Lumiere and Parc des Buttes Chaumont. Would definitely stay here again and will also look at their sister hotels Hotel Clarisse and Hotel Bridget.

We loved our stay at Hotel Scarlett! The room and bathroom are small, but, to be honest, that’s what we expected. The front desk staff members, particularly the man working overnight, were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. And the location is excellent, as well. It’s close to two metro stops and near a lot of bakeries, kebab shops, restaurants, bars, etc. It’s not right in the center of the tourist area, but, honestly, that’s what we prefer when we travel - we loved the vibrancy of the Belleville neighborhood. We’ll definitely stay at Hotel Scarlett again the next time we’re in Paris.

Great bed and amazing shower, decent breakfast and friendly staff. The rooms could do with a bit of TLC, but everything is good quality so a bit of wear and tear doesn't make too much of a difference. I asked for a quiet room, so was kindly placed away from the main road, but I could still hear someone snoring in the next door room! Belleville is lively and there are plenty of nice places to eat and drink nearby - and it's really easy to get into town and to the main stations.

Good budget option if you are searching for a boutique hotel with a metro station nearby. There are convenience stores, MCD, eateries etc. nearby. The rooms were charming/clean and the bed was quite comfy. The only downside was that the elevator was quite small and wouldn’t stop at your exact floor. Plus it does not go down. So became tricky while checkin/checkout with luggage. But that’s not really an issue and it’s manageable.

My family (2 adults & 2 teens) had the opportunity to spend 1 evening at the Hotel Scarlett, which is in the 20th Arrondissement, before traveling back home. The hotel is super cute and was located in walking distance to restaurants, transportation, and grocery markets. The staff was super friendly during our stay. We were assigned to room 602 which is on the main floor. It is a large room across from the breakfast area and has it's own little courtyard before entering the actual room. The room has a queen bed, pull out couch, sitting chair and a large TV and fairly large bathroom, it does not have a "look out" window, but lots of natural light flows in via the courtyard and the bathroom does have a window in it too. (Unfortunately, for us, there wasn't an ample curtain/blinds to cover the window in the bathroom especially for showering at night. We remedied that by propping cardboard and towels over the window for privacy.) Overall, we would possibly stay here again, if only a night or two. We spent the majority of our stay in the 7th Arrondissement and liked that area better for seeing the Paris sites. Hotel Scarlett is right near a metro station, so if you're comfortable /knowledgeable using that, then staying at the hotel may be a more cost effective way to see the Paris sites, without having the expensive hotel costs in the city center.

We decided to stay at this hotel even though it is a little further out if you are there to see all of the main touristy places. However, there are two metro stations very close to it that we used the entire time we were there to get wherever we needed too. Elie was working the desk when we checked in and every morning when we came down to leave for the day. He was awesome, he always asked us what we had planned for the day and gave suggestions and answered all of our questions. Our room was nice and perfect for us. The only issue was the bathroom door made an incredibly loud noise when you opened and closed the door but we honestly didn't care enough to say anything to the front desk. The room/hotel was clean, and staff were super nice. It is in an area that may not look as nice as some of the more upscale areas but we never felt unsafe and would definitely stay here again!

Terrible hotel !!! Bathroom is so tiny my knees touch the wall when sitting in the toilet. The rooms are full of humidity, you wipe ur finger across the desk and it is all wet. Smells like mold. AC doesn’t work. The shower is good so I’ll give them 2 stars instead of 1. Unbelievable.

Nice boutique hotel with very friendly manager. Cosy, clean, great shower. Honest breakfast with all you need, but do not expect a 1000 of things to choose from. Rooms at the street might be a bit more noisy. Close to metro station. Recommended for a small price is multicultural neighboorhood where food options are various for a cheap price, according Paris standard. Recommended hotel & food neighbourgood so you can spend your money on other thibgs.

I've had the best stay here!! The hotel is clean, hip and cozy. This is a beautiful and elegant boutique hotel in Belleville. Within this area you can find lots of bars and a few blocks over you'll find some hippy cafes and bakeries with delicious pastries and sandwiches . You can also find a lot of Cantonese and Indian food. This hotel Is well situated, the rooms are small yet stylish and the bed is very comfortable. We stayed in room 704 (I think lol 1st floor) which was well appointed with a mini bar, safe and shower in bathroom. The staff is attentive and very professional yet open and friendly, making you feel just like a friend visiting. Although our flight back home was 8pm, we checked out normal timing (before 12pm). They were still able to hold out luggages while we did our last min shopping. Somba and The lady with the short hair style, (I loved her) I'm mad with myself that I can't remember her name because she was sooooo sweet and very kind, attentive and friendly. This location is not a big tourist area which for me was GREAT because I got to get the real feel of Paris and the diversity that I love. There are metro stations and buses just steps away that take you right into the city in LESS than 15 mins. I myself plan to travel back to Paris feb2017 and will be back at hotel Scarlett. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Paris. #jamaican #newyorkgirls

I am in France for the 1st time and I rolled the dice and booked this hotel in the 19th Arr. Wow! I love it here. It is a very cool area with lots to offer. It is on a hill! So keep that in mind when you think about walking to this neighborhood with luggage. It's a great workout tho. There are a number of amazing restaurants down the street so take your pic. The patisseries around the corner will satisfy your sweets cravings every morning. A few short blocks from the metro and the 26 bus that will take you to the Gare Nord (high speed rail to England). The room was so nice. The nicest I've had in France on my budget. Everything I needed was supplied. The staff was wonderful. Multilingual and helpful. I can't wait to come back.
