Hotel Schloss Mönchstein

We were so excited to get to the hotel as we had high expectations, and it exceeded them all! The hotel is simply beautiful, but their staff makes a stay there so worth it. From the moment we arrived we were treated like a king and queen. You are welcomed with champagne or whatever beverage you prefer while they took your luggage to the room. And then Linda made sure we had restaurant reservations that we wanted in Salzburg. That extra bit of care as it was Christmas time and many places were booked up. But, she got us into a fabulous Italian Restaurant that had the best homemade pasta we have had. ||Each morning the wonderful staff working the breakfast area always made us feel special, and what is even better they treated everyone like they mattered. And wow, the dinner at the Glass Garden was amazing. Truly 5 star. ||We had so many wonderful interactions with their staff, that I hate to list in case we miss someone, and we sadly don’t have all their names. But, the young lady that ran the bar and seemed to work 24 hours a day was exceptional. Always sweet and helpful. The crew that managed breakfast was simply the best. The reception staff, including Linda, were world class and such an asset to the hotel. ||We HIGHLY recommend staying here if you can. Spending Christmas in this castle is a special experience and memory.

We were six adults traveling to see Salzburg and later Germany. We have traveled extensively throughout Europe and, having worked hard and been blessed, stay in the finest places. Schloss Monchstein is superbly located, walking distance to anything. The staff are true professionals and every worker we encountered was friendly, helpful, efficient and eager to please. Special shout out to Felix and his schnapps recommendations! The hotel itself is lovely. Ours had private patios overlooking a park. We could come back after touring the town, sit in the bar surrounded by natural beauty and "chill", and later either have dinner at the Schloss (interesting, tasty, innovative, but portion sizes of entrees not quite big enough for hungry American men, although the ladies loved it). Great restaurants within walking distance. Nothing not to like and everything to love in a hotel experience. We went slightly off season so there were only a few other groups in the hotel, fyi.

My husband and I went to this Hotel/Castle as a special way to end our trip to Austria. Hotel Schloss Monchstein exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by wonderful staff at the front entrance and from that point on it was a fabulous stay. The staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast was delicious and the meal we had at the Glass Garden was beyond delicious. It was served with elegance and presented beautifully. We have never had a meal so beautiful with the pairing of fabulous wines. Beyond explanation worth the money and the experience. The spa was clean and well run. The hot rock massage was done by an expert who made me feel comfortable from the start. We can’t say enough great things about this Hotel and our experience there.

Beautiful rooms and facilities, great location, and impeccable service. What a gem of a place ! It was like a dream. The breakfast included is 10/10 delicious and the restaurant for dinner was possibly a bit experimental for some but still very well done. I hope to be back one day !

A beautiful experience. The hotel was exquisite. The views were breathtaking. The grounds were a perfect setting for all your photos. It has an elevator from the top of the mountain down to the heart of Salzburg, where we experienced the running of the Krampus, the hot tub and spa were a perfect ending to a beautiful day.

This hotel is perched on the top of a mini mountain overlooking the beautiful Salzburg.||||When we first arrived we were in a hurry to get on, but the team were absolutely amazing. We were worried it might be a long walk up and down the hill, however the team gave us some passes to a lift 100m away and it dropped us in the centre of the city.||||The room was well appointed and we had some lovely amenities waiting for us. It was one night but after getting to our next hotel we wished we hadn’t left this one. ||||We will be back

Our stay exceeded all our expectations with its magnificent views, seamless accessibility to Salzburg, and outstanding service! The hotel itself is a stunning blend of historic charm and modern luxury, perched atop a hill with breathtaking views of Salzburg. The panoramic vistas of the city and the surrounding mountains are simply magical, especially at sunset. One of the highlights of our stay was the easy accessibility to the town via the Mönchsberg Elevator. Within minutes, we could descend directly into the heart of Salzburg, making it incredibly convenient to explore all the local attractions. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every detail of our stay was perfect. Our room was elegantly appointed, providing both comfort and sophistication.

We have stayed at 5 star hotels around the world and taken 20 luxury cruises. This is the finest hotel and absolute best staff and facility we have ever experienced. Any other hotel will be a step down and any other staff cannot hope to match the staff at Schloss Monchstein. Thank you!
