While staff was welcoming and the room was beautiful, it was overpriced for what we received. Located at the top of the hill, it was quite the climb every time back to the hotel. Parking was tight and limited despite paying $40 a night for a spot, and we were blocked in when we went to leave for the airport. The hot tub was nice, but the gate was so tall we could barely reach the latch to open, and we had to remove the covers and turn everything on ourselves. We did appreciate that it was a bit quieter of a hotel so there were no disruptions during the night.

We had a group of 11 that had 6 rooms for 4 nights. We all had the lakeview suites that included morning breakfast buffet. Our rooms were updated, clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the lake. Breakfast was delicious and and it was an easy walk into town. There is a hill that you have to climb coming back so on the way back you might want to uber if you are not able to walk up hill. Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to Hotel St Moritz and I hope not our last. From the moment we entered the hotel we were met with warm, friendly staff who made our whole experience a great one. We stayed in a Lakeview Alpine Suite with a balcony and both the room and view were amazing! Plenty of parking at the hotel for a reasonable price and It is a 5 minute walk into the CBD. The hot tubs are in a lovely private spot and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend Hotel St Moritz if you want a luxurious break.

Very nice hotel short walk to Steamer Wharf and all of Queenstown (although hill up/down to water is quite steep!). Superior room was basically a 1-bedroom apartment. Breakfast buffet was superb- we didn’t book ahead (should have!) so paid $5 more, and gladly did for our two days. Great view from restaurant Join Accor hotel club and save $10 on parking down to $30/day. Two small hot tubs - we did once and were all alone. Gym is small but nice with modern equipment - rower, treadmill, elliptical. Very nice shower. Highly recommend.

I would really recommend this place to stay! Great location. Extremely friendly staff, shoutout to the valet from BC! Really felt like a high caliber luxury experience. We got room service one night and it was great. Spacious rooms, high quality bedding, and great ambiance. Only drawbacks are price (it is what you pay for) and I would say the room had slight noise (some buzzing from the central AC system perhaps)? We stayed in a room on the road side of the hotel.

Overall we had a lovely stay. The rooms are large and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful 3 x niggles however. 1. The Parking is expensive at NZ$ 40 per night (reduced to NZ$ 30 if and Accor member) 2. Having specifically booked the restaurant for a special dinner on our last because there was Oysters on the menu…….they did not have any - shouldn’t be on the menu then! 3. Only one of the 3 washing machines was working making waiting an issue. The out of order machines had clearly been out of order for a long time!

This is purely our own experience staying at this hotel as well as using one of the free night benefit from being an All Accor member. The comms prior to our stay and online check in were all very professional and accommodating. We were also able to use our membership benefit for breakfast which gives members discounted rate. The view from the suite was very stunning! Would love to have a bigger size window but we were grateful to catch sunset from our suite. Would love to stay at this hotel again in the future and hopefully with their continuous level of service as well.

We have just checked into the St Moritz for 6 nights and already wish we could leave. Staff has not been helpful or accompanying at all. For example- when given only one key for the room (which are needed to turn on lights ) we were told that they run out of keys so don’t like to give out more than one. Bartender didn’t know about the advertised “golden hour” and old fashioned special which was displayed. When told about it admitted that it was the first old fashioned she had ever made. Pretty standard drink. At no point did staff appear to care. The pillows are rock hard, mattress quality is poor, room is old, dated, tired. More like a 2 star quality than a 5 star. There are no plugs near the bed for phones and no AC. Obviously this has been brought up because there was a letter in our bed explaining why. It’s not hot at this time but without circulation the room is stuffy and uncomfortable. Views are beautiful, location is great. But I am already looking forward to checking out. Edit- after bringing our issues to the front desk both the day time front desk and manager offered easy and quick solutions. One being that we should have received a pillow menu for types of pillow preferences. (Truly our original pillows were hard and lumpy) We were also able to switch rooms which we greatly appreciate especially as the hotel is fully booked. The professionalism and kindness is noted. Especially needed after a sleepless night and aching body due to bed/pillow issues. We were also surprised with a tray to make old fashions in the room along with hand written notes from both Claire and the general manager. Very unexpected and a lovely personal touch. I am certain the rest of our week here will be what we had originally expected when booking this hotel.

This place was LOUD. Our room was awful and tiny for considering what we paid. We could literally touch the ceiling of our room. Our friend's room was double the size for same price. We tried to upgrade but they wanted to charge us $160/night yet online it was less than $50/night. We've been all over the country and all sorts of places. This was the top price/rated and by far the worst experience. Concierge was nonexistent. This place is crazy to have that high star of a rating. I truly do not like to write negative reviews unless warranted.

We choose Hotel St. Mortez for it's location and breathe taking views of the lake. We were upgraded to a suite upon check in. Breakfast was cooked to order and offered everything you might want. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with a separate shower and soaking tub. Molton Brown toiletries was a nice touch. Check in and out was seemly. One thing to note, there is a hill back to the hotel from town. It's pretty short but will leave you winded. Everything you need for a luxury stay in Queenstown.

The hotel is fabulous. Spectacular views of the lake and mountains from our "Juliette" balcony. As for the restaurant, don't waste your money on a mediocre (at best), expensive breakfast buffet. Too many great places to get breakfast just 5 minutes away.

What a spectacular hotel! The service was friendly and great, quick to resolved problems we had. The design is very glam but modern. Safe to say we didn't want to leave. Their breakfast room service (all we managed to eat there) was INCREDIBLE. If your plan is to walk into town it's a bit of a steep incline back up to the hotel but a little workout never killed anyone.

Best of Queenstown, our room/suite was equipped with kitchenette and washer-dryer. Wonderful bar and restaurant looks over the mountains and lake. Small but well equipped gym has one precore and also sauna. Unlimited though slow WIFI is a blessing in NZ. Short walk to EVERTHING.

Overall, very nice hotel and met my expectations for the price I paid. LOCATION: The hotel is perched up a hill along the beautiful Lake Wakatipu, and a 5-minute walk to the "heart" of Queenstown (the city center is very small, so don't expect too much). Because of the hill, some of the rooms have stunning views of the the lake (and some have less stunning garden views). Some people on TripAdvisor have complained about having to go up and down this hill though it's completely manageable ... so they even set up a shuttle that will take you to the city center! SERVICE: As you would expect in a high-quality hotel, the staff is very courteous and goes out of their way to help you. The valet and front desk agents were very helpful and stored our bags until our room was ready, then took them up for us without asking. AMBIENCE: Very nicely appointed lobby; fireplace and comfy chairs entice a lot of people to hang out in the evening and enjoy a glass of wine. There is also a nice restaurant / bar with a great view of the water. My only complaint here is that the bar seems to close quite early, so you can't enjoy the aforementioned glass of wine after 10 pm. ROOMS: First, the thing I look for is cleanliness, and I had no issues there. The sheets and towels were stark white, the bathroom was super clean, and the room had been well appointed. Our room was quite small and had a garden view, even though we told them we're on our honeymoon (I didn't take points off for this). TIPS: -- the hotel doesn't offer free parking, but you can park along the street on the hill fairly easily for free

Unfortunately, our "lake view" room was quite underwhelming. LOCATION Very close to downtown restaurants and bars, however it sits up on a decent sized hill. So be aware if you have small children, abundant luggage or do not want to walk up/down a hill every time you want to go into town. We also had a tour bus unable to drop us off at our hotel since they could not fit in the driveway of the hotel. ROOM The hotel is clean and well designed, however during our stay (which was the beginning of our honeymoon in NZ) we had to move rooms halfway through since we wound up extending our stay. We started in the lake view room on the 3rd floor and moved to a garden view room on the 2nd floor, only to discover we had the same view: the back of a building with a partial view of the lake. RESTAURANT / BAR As others have mentioned, do not waste your money on the bar or restaurant. We had drinks during happy hour that were absolutely dreadful and the continental buffet was ~$32.00/ person for sparse fruit, yogurt and a few baked goods. SERVICE Again, very underwhelming. When we expressed our frustration with paying significantly more for a poor lakeview room, the receptionist apologized, but would not move our room. When we checked out, I mentioned our disappointment again about the view. I also mentioned we were surprised that we had turn down service for our lake view room but not for the garden view room. After I pushed the receptionist, he waived our credit card fee, and told us he would tell the manager about our concerns. It's been a week and we have not been contacted about any price adjustment. The cost of this hotel is not worth the experience. There are a myriad of other hotels in the area that offer more value than the Hotel St Moritz.

I was there mid-week for one night in the summer. It wasn't even hot outside but my room was so warm me and a friend felt like we would faint if we stayed inside. We opened the windows as far as we could and came back at 10pm. Still hot as could be. No answer at the front desk, and no answer again at midnight. In the morning they were rude and said "we are installing air con in the future" not sure how that helps the current customer base. Only stay here in the winter! Not worth the money, terrible customer service.

Our first stop in New Zealand was Queenstown. The hotel has no central A/c but this can be a mute issue as long as you stay on lower floors. Avoid 7th floor as this is the top floor and looks like an addition after the hotel was built. The ceilings in 7th floor are very low and it is extremely hot during summer months. The front desk was extremely uncooperative when we asked our rooms to be changed. It took threatening to move to Crowne Plaza for us to get another room. Subsequent days were lot more pleasant. If you have any issues with walking steep hills avoid this hotel. After a long day the walk can be quiet demanding. Breakfast was good and bar service was great. Gym is extremely small.

We stayed one night in Spring (mid November). Great staff, classy place, and rooms are spacious with nice bathrooms. Serious draw back that really impacted my stay (and my overall rating) was their internet. Even though I only needed to scan through work emails for about 30 mins, it's so worthlessly slow that I couldn't get emails to load and was unable to accomplish anything. And this is just a gmail account. They shouldn't even offer the service unless they get a new provider.

Enjoyed our 12 day stay here! Staff was very professional & helpful. The hotel is located close to downtown Queenstown- making for an easy walk. We ordered room service one night and it was delicious. The rooms are spacious and clean. Would easily stay here again!
