This was one of the most haunted rooms I've ever stayed in. It was a couple floors up from the lobby, a double room with additional child-sized beds and an out of tune upright piano. We helped a few of the stuck souls to the other side, but there were many more. This seemed a function of the whole block rather than just this building. Both my wife and I felt like we were being watched all night. We kept our clothes on and slept above the bed sheets. If you are into the paranormal, you should ask for this room. This was in April of 2022, so perhaps someone has come in to help move the rest on, though I doubt it. I really enjoyed the owners, who we found to be very friendly, and their beautiful parrots- my kind of eccentrics. The three starts are for the haunted factor and the place could use some deeper cleaning and renovation. However, if you are actually looking for a haunted place, 6-stars. And, if you immune from that sort of experience and don't mind a place that hasn't been updated, it's hard to be beat the combo of price and location.

The most charming find in Paris. Thank goodness its unpretentious interior isn't for most people - lets us average folks afford Paris. Proprietors Jean & Anna are a treasure to get to know. Don't judge this book by its warn cover, or maybe do judge it by that - Hotel Stella in all its old world authenticity lets you step back into a part of Paris' history! Of course if authenticity isn't your thing go ahead and stay at the name brand hotels and overpay to your hearts content. We'll stay here every chance we get to be in Paris.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!||We checked into our room and upon exiting the elevator the floor and room smelled like mold. When we entered the room we found hairs on our bed as well as on the coat hanger. We tried to air out the room by opening the balcony door but that did not help. We called front desk and the man can duo and sprayed but that only lasted 20 minutes. When asked for a new room we were told that they were sold out and couldn’t change us. I questioned if the room was clean or not when we found a half drank soda on the refrigerator. My husband has asthma and is now sick as a result. ||The hotel is refusing to refund us despite being unwilling to give us another room.

This was my third stay at Hotel Stella, and I still love it as much as ever.||||Hotel Stella isn't for everyone. For those who favor modern hotels with modern conveniences---elevators, a 24 hour concierge service, spiffy new furniture, television and no quirks or surprises---you'd best look elsewhere. There are plenty of chain and independent hotels in and around Paris to suit your taste.||||But, if you love the idea of experiencing the charm of old Paris, and don't mind climbing some winding stairs to get there, Hotel Stella is a delight. This seventeenth century building has exposed beams and the kind of decor you don't see much in Paris hotels any more: flowered wallpaper, oriental rugs, ancient armoires and (if you reserve a big room) even a couple of not-very-functional old pianos! ||||The rooms are a decent size (the triple/quadruple rooms are really spacious for Paris!); the neighborhood is attractive, with many small businesses and restaurants. Best of all, this hotel is very affordable by Paris standards. The proprietors (who speak good English) are pleasant and helpful. They do request that payment be made in cash, at the end of your stay.||||The Luxembourg RER stop, and the Odeon metro stop, are within easy walking distance of the hotel. There are many cafes in the area that serve breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay. Reception was very kind and friendly. We even had a chance to talk with the owner of hotel. If you like vintage style and traditional decorations the Hotel Stella is just for you! It is also located in the centre. Just 12 minutes to the Cathedral Notre Dame and you can take a the subway to go to Eiffel Tower from the hotel. You can take the subway from Odeon Subway station and it is just 3 minutes by walking from the hotel. We cannot wait to visit Paris and Hotel Stella again! ☺

Just try to feel the atmosphere of old Paris & were targeting on the hotel like that during our one week travel to Paris so we book it for a one night. Actually we found what we want but the place could be more cleaner - there is a lot of dust on the floor & tables, so do not expect any modern condition such as air conditioner or dispensers but it have own charm. And it's a must to visit POLIDOR restaurant that neighbor of this hotel.

Hotel is situated in a very interesting location, 5 minutes from Notre Dame and with Luxembourgh Gardens around the corner (where RER train from CDG airport has a stop). Old hotel but nice atmosphere with a very kind owner. It was not a luxury room, not super clean, but fine enough to spend few nights and take a rest :)

We booked this hotel one day before we arrived, it was one of the cheapest we could find. It suited our needs perfectly, clean beds, clean towels and hot water to shower. We loved the quintessential French decor, very cute.|It's in a great location situated very close to St Germain with all its brilliant places to eat. |We recommend drinking at the little big bear pub a few doors down. ||
