A Long Weekend in Tallinn

"The Michelin-recommended Swissôtel is a great place to stay and, whether you're a resident or not, drinks in the bar here are an absolute must, as the panoramic views are breathtaking. Their stylish restaurant, Horisont, is also part of the Michelin selection; it's located on the 30th floor and sports an air of formality that makes you feel special. The food is a great match for the surroundings too, with well-judged European dishes packed full of seasonality and flavour." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

Horisont

"Arrive early for an aperitif in the bar, which affords stunning panoramic views towards the harbour from the 30th floor of the smart Swissotel Tallinn hotel. There’s a formal feel to the room, with modern European menus to match; to see the full talents of the kitchen, go for the tasting menu." - Michelin Inspector

This location is close to the harbor and old city and near parks, perfect for walking, shopping and sightseeing. This is a gorgeous, elegant hotel with top notch service. We slept so well in our cool, comfortable room. Every location on the premises is beautiful. We used the spa, sauna, lobby for relaxing, and ate lovely meals in the breakfast room. The buffet had many vegan and vegetarian options, important to us. The pots of summer berry tea were delicious, I couldn't get enough. The coffee was excellent. The staff worked very hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The only thing that bothered us was the glass door into the bathroom. There were so many mirrors and so much glass we had to make certain we did not crash into the door. Other than that we highly recommend this lovely, modern hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, my room was on the 20th floor with an awesome view of the ferry terminal. It is in a convenient location just a short 16 min walk to old town and 20min to the coach station. ||Check in was easy and front desk staff was friendly and smiled. | |I specifically request a quiet room away from stairs and elevators and they delivered. To some it may not matter but to me it does, I found the mattress not to be very comfortable, both sides were sagging and lacked the softness of nice mattress, this made it uncomfortable for a side sleeper like myself. Water was provided the first night but not afterwards, I ended up going across the street to the market and purchased some to have in the room.||The breakfast buffet was extensive with excellent food choices, the best I have experienced so far at any European hotel in my many years of traveling. Food was fresh and delicious and fresh orange juice. ||I visited the spa once, very nice pool a sauna and a steam room. The sauna has a nice view of the street from the 11th floor. When I went it was not busy at all and had a chance to use all saunas and pool while it was time to get a massage. Massage was good, not great, specially for a deep tissue but I enjoyed it. ||I didn't find this hotel to be a true 5 star hotel but I would recommend it to anyone who is planning on visiting Tallinn. I gave it a 4/5 stars just because my bed mattress was not comfortable and the sheets were on the rough side.

We’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times before and decided to return based on our previous positive experiences. We’ve always liked the Swissôtel brand, as they have several five-star properties in both Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates. ||Pros: ||The service throughout our stay was consistently friendly and welcoming. Pre stay communication with the front desk before arrival went smoothly, and they were able to accommodate our room request. Both check-in and check-out were pleasant, and the reception staff made us feel welcomed.||Our dining experiences were also enjoyable, both at the bar and during breakfast. The room was luxurious and spacious, and the twin beds were comfortable — we slept well every night of our stay. ||The food quality at the hotel was excellent and felt thoughtfully prepared.||The spa was also luxurious. We really enjoyed the pool and appreciated the Swiss-style cosmetic products provided in the room.||Cons:||We didn’t experience any major drawbacks during our stay and would gladly return to this hotel in the future!

I've stayed here a few times, starting way back in 2012, and this place still looks great. The rooms don't feel dated at all. Check-in was smooth, no fuss. The basic room is actually really spacious, and I slept like a log. The bathroom is spotless and has everything you need. The breakfast is a real plus – lots of choices, and you can get fresh orange juice. The cappuccino is from a machine, but it does the job. What really stood out this time was the price. I booked through OTA, and it included breakfast and let me cancel if needed, which used to cost extra. For a hotel of this quality, it's a great deal. Parking underneath is 20 euros a day. All in all, a great experience with nothing to complain about

My family of 4 stayed in a Swiss Family Room which consisted of two connecting rooms. The kids’ room was set up with twin beds with Minion bedding and a video game system. It was incredibly helpful to have two bathrooms for our family! I didn’t see this room option on the website site, and it was only because I emailed the hotel was I able to book it. ||Other aspects of the hotel we enjoyed:||The breakfast buffet was extensive and loved all the freshly squeezed juice options! ||We loved the location. It was a short walk to our tours in Old Town and an even shorter walk to the KGB museum. ||But the one aspect we didn’t like and would keep us from returning to the Swissotel Tallinn was the bathroom walls. They were made out of frosted glass and didn’t provide privacy. Perhaps we are prudish Americans, but I don’t particularly need to see my husband wiping while he is on the toilet. Similarly, the frosted glass lets light through. My son went to the toilet in the other room and turned on the bathroom lights and our connecting room was illuminated! Actual bathroom walls are a necessity in my book.

Great spacious rooms with amazing views over the city to the sea. Second stay here and it was still great. The bed is quite hard but the pillow menu has a good variety of different kind of pillows for everyones needs. We were offered a complimentary plate of fruits and sweets due to our special stay. Can not comment the breakfast as never had one so far but surely will in the future. Rooms, at least in the upper floors, are so quite that it feels like you're staying in the hotel alone.

The Swiss Hotel in Tallinn is my absolute secret favorite in Europe 🤩 The entire staff in the hotel is very friendly and courteous. What I particularly noticed, is the cleanliness in the entire hotel and it is really very modern and beautifully furnished. A highlight for me was the bathroom, with glass mosaic stones, underfloor heating and the room was very spacious and very clean ☝️ On the upper floor you will find the star kitchen horizon restaurant and bar, of course not cheap but worth every penny 😍 I highly recommend the sauna in the winter months 🔥 one side is completely glazed and you have a great view of the city

We have been in this hotel maybe 5-6times, made the reservation through hotels.com like I always do if the price matches. One room I paid as business expences and one was a complementary with the points of hotels.com. When we went to the swimming pool. The lady wanted 15€/person of the complementary room. We had our bathropes on and the spa was closkng in 40 min, we were just to anoid - that the swimming pool charge was 15€/person. So we skipped it. Never before they charged us. There are two things when I stop using a 5-star hotel. 1.) they do not serve fresh squized orange juice for breakfast (they have it and it is included) and the other is charging 15€ extra for using the swimming pool. What is this Swissotel? Cheap airliner where you hide all extras to get the price down? I will change to another 5-star hotel in Tallinn.
