"Towering bookshelves, comfy leather couches, and abundant reading lights feel like a well-to-do professor's library in this boutique 110-room theater-district hotel. You'll find city dwellers, business travelers, and couples on a romantic getaway mingling around the Hotel Teatro. "First impressions?Towering bookshelves, comfy leather couches, and abundant reading lights feel like a well-to-do professor's library in this 110-room theater district hotel. An inviting fireplace seals the deal. Who else is here?City dwellers, business travelers, and couples on a romantic getaway. How was check-in? Check-in flowed easily and the noon check-out time made for a relaxed morning. And the rooms? The king corner rooms are a treat, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows with city views, and deep soaking tubs to help soothe weary legs. Custom oak wardrobes complement a handsome blue-gray-cream color scheme, and the rainforest shower head makes you want to stay for days. Any other details?Plush terry robes are soft like kitten fur, and an in-room Keurig coffee maker made do when the urge for caffeine hit. Custom bicycles can be signed out at the front desk and the ever-so-important Wi-Fi was free and strong. How about food options?A seasonal menu of farm-to-table creations at the on-site Nickel restaurant packs a punch, taking advantage of local produce and meats. The Nickel also serves up 24-hour in-room dining, so when a craving for an ooey-gooey dessert hits at midnight, you can indulge. Are pets welcome? The Hotel Teatro is the most dog-friendly hotel in the city, letting four-legged friends stay with no pet fees and no weight restrictions. Why book here? The hotel has spacious, well-styled rooms in an imminently walkable section of LoDo, but beware, you could be tempted to stay put: The beds are addictively comfortable." - Megan Barber

"Denver might not immediately come to mind as a cultural destination, but the Performing Arts Complex is one of the largest in the world, with ten different venues. Take in a show, then retire across the street at Hotel Teatro, a Theatre District mainstay that will have you rethinking the city’s creative credentials. A 2014 renovation kept many of the 1911 Denver Tramway building’s original details, like the grand marble lobby entrance, but updated the aesthetic in other public spaces: The Study feels like a chic living room, with coffered ceilings, curio-filled bookshelves, and leather furnishings around a sandstone fireplace, while refreshed guest rooms have high ceilings, deep-soaking tubs, and mattresses thick enough to sink into. A nod to the old trolley fare, The Nickel restaurant serves locally sourced shareable plates and barrel-aged cocktails—pace yourself so you can wake early and borrow a cruiser bike to explore nearby Larimer Square the next morning. Note that dogs are especially welcome with no fees or weight limit, and the staff can arrange for anin-room massage or a “pawdicure” at a neighborhood pet spa."

We stayed at Hotel Teatro for the weekend in Denver for a music festival. This hotel was perfect for what we needed and definitely will be coming back next time in Denver. Location is great access to downtown and walkable. They offered a complimentary drink voucher upon arrival which was a nice touch. The hotel is very clean and pretty overall. 24hour complimentary coffee was clutch and the food options were decent as well as well flavored. Service was top notch and able to use a car to take us to Coors Field area. Very impressed how smooth they made everything during our stay. My one suggestion is to be more competitive for parking. We had a car for the weekend and had to park around the block in a different lot which was a bit of a learning curve. If the hotel could offer parking for the duration of the stay to come and go as you please instead of pay for each enter/exit would make things more enjoyable if possible. Looking forward to coming back to Denver and staying at the Teatro.

Hotel Teatro||Denver||Home away from home.||1014261968||I stayed at the Hotel Teatro at the beginning of June and had a wonderful time. From the moment I was met at the train station the staff made me feel most welcome. The room was just perfect. It was very clean, spacious, and well appointed with everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable and I appreciated the deep soaking tub and rain forest shower.||The location was perfect. It's close to Larimer Square with so many great restaurants and activities.||What really stood out was the exceptional service. Every staff member I met was friendly, professional, and eager to help. Courtney Griffith is a "hands on" General Manager who surrounds herself with a great crew. Natalie Pilsk is the front office manager who is there to see that every detail of your stay goes perfectly. Sara and the rest of the staff are wonderful. Mau is an excellent Bell Captain who is always ready to serve. He is a real pleasure.||Don't miss this hotel if you are in the Denver area. It's a winner!||Kathy Hickey

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend for a conference. Suffice it to say, the experience was pretty disappointing for a hotel that advertises itself as a boutique hotel and comes with a pretty heft price tag. For starters, the first room they gave us had a broken AC unit. The room was extremely uncomfortable and the staff had no solution aside from fans which just pushed around the hot air. I tried to address this with the front desk the following morning since my partner had to go to a conference and I had activities planned, and we were running on no sleep due to the heat in the room. The front desk was unapologetic to our concerns and simply just said "Cleaning Service does not come in until 8am". While we were eventually moved to a room that had a functioning air conditioning unit and the first night was comped (which I would argue is the bare minimum that they could do to make this right). Our new room wasn't that much better. The shower water never got hot and the water pressure was essentially a trickle. On top of that, the TV remote didn't work, which I guess wasn't a huge issue, just emblematic of the myriad of issues that were present in both rooms. At this point, I did not have the patience to deal with the front desk since that experience was already exhausting. I guess for the pros, the bed was all right, the location was good for the conference, and the complimentary car service was appreciated. So to sum things up: this place is all style and no substance,

We stayed at this hotel for five nights and had a really pleasant experience. The room was very clean and cozy, with a nice dark atmosphere that made it easy to relax. There was some noise coming from the mini fridge, but we just unplugged it and it wasn’t an issue. What really stood out was the service — the staff is available 24/7 and always happy to help with anything you need. They were kind, responsive, and made us feel very welcome. The bathroom and shower were clean and comfortable, and overall everything felt fresh and well taken care of. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Teatro! Dinner at the Nickel was so delicious and the Manager Saleem gave us excellent personal service. The room was luxurious, especially the amazing bathtub! We enjoyed the library and had our complimentary Prosecco before we left. Blake, our Valet, also gave us great service and we had a nice chat with him. Overall, a very lovely time. I'd love to stay again.

Google
The Hotel Teatro is simply wonderful in so many ways. Yes, it's quite an old place (1911), but that really adds to the charm. The rooms are nicely appointed with everything you could want and are spacious enough for two people. But here's the bonus. The people who work at this lovely hotel are super attentive and caring. From storing our bags, to parking our car, they were on the spot. And here's the other bonus...you will be one block from the theatre district and convention center. We had an event at Kevin Taylor's which is in the theater area....so feel free to walk in your highest heels...you are so super close. They have a lovely bar area and seating for many...it's larger than you think. The lobby is beautiful.

Google
Very good service and comfortable setting. Hotel was clean and well appointed. If it had a roof top terrace, it would get 5 stars. Natalie at front desk was great along with other front desk and breakfast cafe. Mason did a great job at breakfast on day of departure.

This was a great boutique hotel. This hotel is downtown near a lot of restaurants, bars and entertainment. The rooms were clean. I loved the decor. Great customer service from the valet to the reception area. Make sure you schedule the time for your room to be cleaned. Otherwise, housekeeping will not come in. We scheduled cleaning at check-in, but they didn't clean on the day before checking out after cleaning all the other days. We didn't make a big deal about it since we would be checking out the next morning. When we informed guest services, they came and pulled the trash and brought clean towels. They did apologize. Everyone was very polite. Make sure you visit the restaurant bar in the evening to meet Laura. She's the bartender and makes AWESOME drinks! If ever in the area again, we will definitely stay there.

Yelp
This is the place to be if you want the best service and most amazing venue for your event. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is second to none! From the moment we met Jessica in Sales, we knew this is where we wanted to be! The servers & bartender for the wedding (Saleem, Maiah, Morgan as well as Taylor the food and beverage director) all treated us like royalty and family all at the same time. There was nothing they couldn't make happen, all while having the sweetest attitudes and biggest hearts! The front desk team we encountered (Matthew, Natalie, Ricci, and Beth) went above and beyond in helping us with every single need and detail for the wedding. Matthew even helped us find food on Christmas night when everything was closed. He also went to a nearby store to get some ginger ale when I wasn't feeling well. Every one of the guys working in valet were also incredibly helpful each and every time we left and arrived back on property. I have never been more impressed with a group of individuals who truly all functioned as a unified family. We were incredibly honored to have our daughter's wedding here and can't wait to visit again when in the area!

Yelp
I would've given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that their shuttle service was non-existent. It's like they dangle it in front of you and take it away. Tried for the shuttle twice and both times even though it was available the driver was too busy with valet service. Other than that, the people working the front were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was large enough to be comfortable inside, and the bathroom was too. I liked how they gave you an option of using a bathtub or a stand-up shower that is by each other, side by side. The television didn't work at certain times, which was strange. But the room was clean, and even with light housekeeping, it was fully made up. The hotel is walking distance to Larimer Square, Union Station, Ball Arena, and Coors Field. I would suggest this place to stay at if you're ever in the area.

Yelp
This was a unique hotel that we were really looking forward to trying. Front desk manager Matthew was as great as everybody says he is. Friendly, funny, helpful. We got checked in a little bit early which was nice and the rooms are adorable. I love when there is a shower and a bathtub separate from one another. We ate at the Nickel at least three or four times and had a great experience each time, The food was good and service was super friendly. They seemed a little understaffed but it didn't affect the quality at all. Had room service the first night but we were disappointed the next morning when we couldn't receive it. Not a big deal, stuff happens :-) I will say the elevator is a little slow but it adds to the charm, after all it is an old building. If you are in that much of a hurry you can always take the stairs Can't believe I forgot to take advantage of the shuttle service and the daily happy hour! Just another reason to go back again :-) Highly recommend.

Yelp
Not impressed with this place or the service. The best thing it has going for it is the location, The location is indeed ideal if you are staying in the Downtown area - this is right near Larimer and the Convention center. The place touts it self as being a historic building.....it does have a nice aesthetic front he outside and the lobby area - however once you are up in the rooms - it is painfully aware that it is a 100+ yr old building trying to act like a modern hotel. The rooms are quite obviously the original size (Small) rooms that have never been readdressed for modernization. The bathroom in the room I was in was retro fitted for a long counter that just did not quite fit because the doors nearly hit it and caused you to have to squeeze out. The lighting is extremely poor int he room that I was in and there were stains all over the carpet (Blood? Wine? - I have no idea, but I did not get the vibe of cleanliness). I was only her for a few nights, but on check out - I waited Ed by the checkout counter for close to 25 min before someone actually could help me. there was a service staff that passed by at about the 15 minute mark that I asked if there was someone - they said they would call someone.,.......20 min later before someone actually came by......apparently the desk person was on lunch or a break for some type.....so I guess they don't;t have someone relieve them???? Instead they just make guests wait. I'll avoid this place in the future.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! I just love boutique hotels and this one has a great history (and happy hour)! Matthew is so amazing! My friend and I had great conversations with him and he was so friendly and helpful. He made our stay better than it could've been. Awesome hotel with great amenities!

Yelp
I stayed here for work recently, and this was a comfortable place to stay close to work. The bellhops were cool with opening the doors and greeting me upon walking in, so that was a nice experience that I'm not used to. Same goes for pressing the button to get to the elevator and opening the doors when we'd leave the building. They were on it. The check-in process was easy with obtaining the room keycard, and I had no problems with getting into my room and settling in. We also have a daily allowance of two bottles of water along with two $10 meal vouchers per day. You can't use both vouchers at one meal, but it did definitely help with getting things like a breakfast burrito or pop tart. The gym has a handy water dispenser with cold water, and I'm glad I was able to get workouts in before handling the rest of the day. I knock off one star since both the sink and the bathtub drained incredibly slowly. Even with the drain plug open in the shower, the water height was above my ankles. The last piece was the air/fan. I like feeling a fan since it helps me fall asleep super quickly, and it felt like all I could do was set the temperature, and there really wasn't any air that felt like it circulated in the room. Overall, it was a fairly pleasant stay, and I will consider this hotel again if I have to come back to Denver again for work. It is downtown, so you'll have outside noise which I don't mind at all. Enjoy your stay!

Yelp
A posh, boutique hotel for the gram. I really enjoyed this converted bank into a hotel. A mid-modern aesthetic was fun with board games available in the parlour. There is a restaurant in the hotel that was absolutely delicious. The service was top notch and helpful with local spots and provided information for transportation ie. Car service to anywhere within a 2.5 mile radius (first come first serve).

Brandon R.

Yelp
Took an Uber to have coffee here. Yelp, Apple and Google all indicate it is open 24 hours. Upon arriving at 2:53pm, we were told coffee service stopped at 3pm. We indicated that it was not 3pm yet but the "barista" said all the machines were already "off" and she was leaving for the day. Other than that, looks like the coffee lounge feel we took the trip to get (despite a hotel guest passed out on the couch as you walk in)

Yelp
What an elegant, classy stopping stop right in the heart of the downtown action. The front desk staff were exceptional. It was obvious that pleasing patrons is a top priority. The room is well-appointed leaving you feeling valued and refreshed.

Yelp
Such a great location, but this hotel is falling apart! They no longer park your car. They don't have any amenities in the bathrooms. They don't have enough light in the rooms--I got a suite on the top floor--to read, or work, or even put on makeup. They have a low light lamp by each bed and that's it. No overhead lights at all. They have turned the A/C to 80 degrees. Good luck sleeping. Since they no longer give you pods for the coffee maker in the room, or snacks, or anything, they have a large pot in the lobby. I just went down in my bathrobe. The pot is empty and there are so many people at the front desk asking for refunds to move to the 4 seasons across the street that I can't get anyone's attention about no coffee. UUGGHH. They have a horrid manager named Kevin and he will treat you like you are crap and he is God. I guess I need a new hotel near the theaters, for Denver. And yes...they still charge for amenities--they just don't have any.

Yelp
Hotel Teatro is hands down my FAVORITE hotel in Denver. I just stayed there my third time with my husband, and, as usual, it was FANTASTIC. Matthew at the front desk greeted me by name and managed to get our room ready and provide us with some cocktails even though the restaurant was closed and we showed up two hours early just to drop off our bags. Besides it being a beautiful hotel with nicely furnished rooms, the staff always go above and beyond to give every guest an amazing VIP experience. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating that you're just glowing by the time you reach your room. Matthew, thank you again for the warm welcome and the treats you had waiting for us in our room--we enjoyed them immensely. As always, we had a wonderful stay, and we look forward to visiting again soon. We heartily recommend your hotel to everyone we can! 05/07/23: Hotel Teatro is hands down my FAVORITE hotel in Denver. Yelp
Hotel Teatro owes me nothing. Outside of the $100/night cc hold and the bar saying it stays open until 10:00pm but kept closing at 9:30pm, I highly recommend this comfortable boutique hotel to anyone. It sits in the heart of downtown and in the arts district. Grab a complimentary bike and enjoy the city life.

Yelp
We used Hotel Teatro for our wedding block and had a great experience. We worked with Belle and she really went above and beyond for us. Seriously, I was emailing this woman for a year changing reservations and she was always responsive and able to help me. When it came time for our wedding weekend my fiancé and I were upgraded to their presidential suite which made getting ready with my bridesmaids so much more comfortable! They brought my fiancé and I chocolate covered strawberries and champagne! And they even had a special parents of the bride basket for my parents which I thought was a very nice touch. Belle also helped our photographer reserve the front room for a little bit on our wedding day so we could do first looks and private vows and I love the pictures from that, it's a beautiful room. Great location too, walking distance down to Larimer or over to Sam's No 3 (I think every one of our wedding guests went there at some point) and a quick walk up to Rock Bottom too. They could not have been more accommodating, i can't recommend this hotel enough!

Yelp
Love this hotel! Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Valet is quick and not overly expensive. Rooms are neat/clean/well appointed. Location is perfect for walking over to Ball Arena or over to grab a steak at Cap Grill.

Morgan C.

Yelp
Pros: Housekeeping has to be requested but they did a great job. Mary helped me set up a birthday surprise and pulled it off wonderfully. Room was clean and bathtub was awesome. Amenities in the room were good. 2 free waters per day. Cons: -given a $10 credit for the restaurant for each day. 1 day used it on tea, the next day told tea wasn't applicable to use with the card. -Hotel advertises a car that takes you within 2.5 miles. Valet man said they start at 7am. We went down 2 different days around 745am and they said nobody was working. When we asked the front desk he said "we don't work with them". We tried one more time asking about 30 minutes in advance for the car in the evening, which they said yes. We get out there at our appointed time and no valet was present. We took a Lyft. -gym is 3 treadmills, peloton bike, and a rack of weights that goes up to 30lbs -I inquired about a $511 hold on my credit card (I had paid in full months ago) and they said it would drop off but cannot explain why that high amount was held (usually hotels are $200-300 holds) Lots of city noise (expected near downtown and Union Station). Overall if you're looking for a hotel to sleep and relax this is it. If you want amenities and service features, look elsewhere.

Yelp
Hotel Teatro is absolutely stunning. Just beautiful! Notable architecture with a splash of modern to glam the place up. The lobby is remarkable. You just have to see it the photos online does it no justice. The front desk staff was super attentive and personable which I love because it truly made my stay a breeze. Check in was smooth no issues I was in and in my room within 10 mins. My room was perfect for the occasion, I got one of the petite rooms but it was just me and I was barely there but the room was super cozy. But they do offer a variety of layouts. The bed was comfy I wasted no time snuggling up for a nap after a long flight. My room had amazing natural light that kept the room fairly warm on cold days. I was never able to dine at the onsite restaurant due to it either being closed or packed so I cant to much speak on it but Larimer Square and several other eateries at located within in walking distance. The WIFI is trash and I was there for work for that really didn't work for me. But not a deal breaker I would for sure come back to stay just not for a work trip. Parking, UGHHH! Valet is a INSANEE! $50 per night. But I read reviews prior to going and I must say it easily costed me $10 per day to park across the street. Just a heads up.. if you have to leave the hotel super early in the morning like I did, the doors will be locked but someone will be near by to unlocked them for you. Talking about feeling secure!

Yelp
Wonderful staycation at Hotel Teatro!! I can imagine this being a great spot for tourists. The service was wonderful from start to finish and the guy from the front desk never failed to make us laugh with the jokes and made something as trivial as asking for toothpastes to be delivered to our room a fun time! Very positive and welcoming service. They even helped us with getting us seated at The Nickel since no one was helping us there! The room itself was very nice. My friend really enjoyed the bathtub and I thought the shower was refreshing. Everything seemed so clean and spacious. Great experience!

Connie P.

Yelp
Our reservations got messed up, but, Matthew Slavsky went above and beyond to take care of things. It was a sold out evening and he accomplished the impossible! Thank you!

Yelp
Watch out they will overbook this hotel and then try to send you out of Denver at the check in !?!

Yelp
Loved this hotel. Beautiful place and amazing customer service. Loved that the suite had two separate entrances. Will definitely be back! Thanks to all!

Camilla B.

Yelp
Had a very lovely stay at Hotel Teatro yesterday, and it was made all the more enjoyable by Matthew at the front desk. He had learned it was my husband's birthday on the day of our check in, and he went through the trouble of purchasing two birthday cupcakes and gathering a group of people to sing at the time of check in. What an incredibly special touch! Thank you!

Chuck S.

Yelp
Loved our stay last weekend! Great staff! Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is full of history and modern at the same time. Huge windows and high ceilings let in a ton of light. The restaurant/bar is right out of a movie. Food was delicious and a great wine list. A cozy parlor type of room with a wall of book shelves encompassing a fireplace opposite of the front desk. Just a cool and comfortable place to relax if in Denver. Highly recommended and we will return.

Dennis H.

Yelp
Location is the only good thing here.no room service, valet is very slow and most of the time just hand you keys no help with bags or doors. Housekeeping, if you want to call it that just drops towels and leaves, no cleaning up refilling paper or anything in bathroom. We stayed 4 nights and and bed was made one time and all my dirty towels stayed in my room until checkout.

Yelp
This is a boutique hotel resulting from the transformation of the landmark Tramway Building, a historicist office at the hart of Denver's downtown, into a trendy medium-sized hotel. Everything is what you would expect. The first renovation, was later redecorated to bring more of a hipster retro feeling to the interiors. The design lacks sophistication but it does the job, with a bit of a defeat in refinement. It is not the Standard, or Mexico City's Condesa DF. it is less of a celebration of design and art. Same with food, it us not bad, but definitively not at the creative level of other boutique hotels. Rooms are not bad, but neither really great. In a city with amazing hotel culture, mostly associated to the Conference Center; the boutique offer would be expected to be more imaginative, delicate and daring. Being quite good, it is definitively not creative enough to compete with boutique hotel of it's kind.

Bailey M.

Yelp
While beautiful and in a great location to local attractions there seems to be some leaning into the past they are doing. There was a sewer smell in the lobby for 3 of the days we were there, the last night our toilet was bubbling loudly for quite some time. When we mentioned this at check out the lady at the desk scolded us for not calling them to tell them. Sure. I'd love to have people come to my room with sleeping kids at 10 at night. Speaking of the room, missing and broken tiles in the shower, wobbly toilet seat, everything takes forever to drain (see above for sewer problems they were having) , one of the days we were notified we wouldn't have water and that we could get breakfast to go but just a shrug when we asked why not notify us earlier. Paint needs refreshing in rooms and common areas. Room 202 looks out at the ac units where they were doing work at 7 am every. Single. Day. Valet was friendly and the attached restaurant kept us from just up and leaving to another hotel to be honest. As a property manager myself and I am hopeful management will take this opportunity to get out of their offices and inspect rooms, common areas, and speak with the front desk over any comments your guests may be mentioning.

Yelp
Very dingy hotel. Good location, but rooms were pretty dirty with stains on the towels. The bathtub and shower were also very grimy.

Beth S.

Yelp
I booked this reservation 2months ago. I have a change in plans due to my disable son. i am is caregiver & needs me to attend several dr. appt that week. All I asked the hotel to do was change my dates or give me credit for another week. No No No was their answer even with a medical excuse. I lost over $562 for this reservation. I would not recommend booking a reservation with this hotel as they have No compassion and No customer service!

Yelp
We came here for a little staycation and had a wonderful time. Hotel Teatro is located in such a convenient location and made it easy for us to enjoy the Performing Arts Complex and all of Larimer Square. Also, I loved that this is a historic building that has maintained aspects of that but the rooms have been renovated and still have all the modern amenities expected in a hotel room.

Yelp
Cute hotel and love the industrial, rustic type of design. All rooms look differently and the sizes of the bathrooms differ. I was lucky enough to have a whole bathtub separate from my shower which I definitely took advantage of! The desk and mini fridge was a little tight being on the side of the bed, but it was nice to have. There were many outlets near the bed which is always helpful. The lights could've been brighter, but it still served its purpose. There are no "do not disturb" signs but there is a tassel, I guess works the same way. They also have bathrobes in the closet which are very lush and comfy. I was not able to eat at the Nickle restaurant but their menu sounded delicious so I'll need to come again and make that visit. They have a coffee bar and some board games in their lobby for your enjoyment. They have a complimentary town car that will drive you anywhere within 2.0 miles which was super helpful, not having to request a Lyft/Uber every time. The location of the hotel was definitely prime as it is walking distance from many eateries and conference centers if you're there for a conference. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
I had a reservation at the hotel today. When I showed up to check-in this evening, they told me that they overbooked the hotel. Apparently, they did not have time to call me to let me know. They instead sent me to a hotel 20 minutes outside of the city. I do not have a car on this trip, so I had to uber.

Yelp
I would be careful eating at The Nickle I've had a couple of decent meals there. But then, the next time I returned there was a garnish on my meal that consisted of slimy greens. Under cook meat, and for that my friend and I waited 45 min ! That will be my last visit.

Yelp
It's kitschy for sure - what else do you say about a hotel who offers a printing center in a vintage phone booth? The staff provide good customer service and the room seemed clean. Beyond that, there are a few things that seemed out of character for a hotel at this price point. Overall: Lighting - Lots of people have mentioned this and it absolutely is a problem, both in the room and bathroom. Some light comes from the giant light board on an adjacent building, but the blackout curtains handle that. (Mostly) The crack under the room door is like a gaping chasm, which means you can hear people in the hallways. Bathroom: The lighted makeup mirror doesn't telescope, so prepare to smush up against the wall in front of the toilet to use it. I had to pull the drain plug to get the drain to work properly. No full-length mirror, although other rooms seem to have them? Instead my room has a towel hook behind the door that doesn't actually hold the towel for longer than a few minutes. The towel rack - including wash cloths - are directly above the toilet. Yes, there's a lid but let's be real - they aren't sanitizing the rack between guests. Enjoy washing your face and drying your body with towels that likely have fecal bacteria on them. (Norovirus, anyone?) Room: Bed is comfy, but TV is basic cable with few functional channels. Lamps are weak and on various switches or toggles, some have crooked shades that need to be fixed. There's a fridge but no ice makers available on the floors. Room service doesn't actually seem to exist even though it's advertised - the restaurant hours seem to be more of a suggestion than anything else. (Breakfast in the restaurant was VERY good.) I didn't drive, so no opinions on the valet. It does seem like they could offer their car for airport transport rather than taking a ridiculously high taxi or ride share based on what they charge per night given that you don't get a lot of basic things (like light). If you're after downtown locale, sure. Just don't expect it to be the lap of luxury. Beyond the kitsch, it's just an average hotel. Not the worst by far, but not up to the standard their marketing and price point suggests.

Yelp
Overall very below average hotel. Service was sub par-- staff was not trained to be helpful or have a proactive "how can I help" good attitude. The valet was good natured, however. Overall did not feel like welcomed guests. Rooms are tiny! Smaller than a cruise ship. It's just a mediocre experience. Nothing stood out. And our room had no windows, but we did have industrial air conditioning units right outside which produced a lovely high pitch whistling that prevents any hope of sleep. Of course I am writing this at 5am with no sleep! (And by whistling I mean turbine jet engine). Literal nightmare. And yes I called the front desk and told them about the noise and the fact that my fiancé and I have not slept all night. And no they didn't offer to move us, or fix it. They just said they'd let maintenance know when they get in in the morning. I implored them to send someone up to observe the noise, but this was disregarded. And this was after they told us they have many open rooms available. The hotel itself has been updated with some nice facades and a more trendy upscale look to capture higher end clientele. But it's not the classy upscale hotel it claims to be. It's mostly smoke and mirrors. Stay at the Kimpton Born. Or heck, the Hilton/Hampton Inn. Will not stay here again, nor would I recommend this place to others. Far better options for the value at $300/night.

Yelp
For those of you fortunate enough to have read my reviews, you'll know that I love bringing Wonder Wife to Denver every once in a while for a getaway weekend. With Valentine's Day falling on a Friday this year, it was the perfect opportunity to indulge in a romantic weekend, so I started looking around for a hotel. Normally, we stay at one of the larger nice chains like the Grand Hyatt, but Hotel Teatro caught my eye on a travel site. I went to the hotel site directly and found a great rate on a King Suite and decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. The hotel is conveniently located and there is a lot to do within walking distance, and they have a Lincoln Navigator to take you where you need to go if it's a little further than you want to walk. Front desk staff was friendly and the room was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. A special thank you to the concierge, Matthew, who made the weekend a brilliant success. I had waited far too long to try to get flowers and dinner reservations for Valentine's. I made reservations at restaurants that were 'okay', but not great. Then, I looked up florists (on Yelp, of course) which would deliver to the hotel. I called the hotel to ask if they'd make sure the flowers got to the room and I was connected to Matthew: "I know a couple of florists who do really great work and very close by. What's your budget?" I told him and he asked about our plans. I told him I had made reservations for dinner and he said, "It sounds like you're not thrilled about your dinner reservations. But, the flowers are the most important - let me see what I can do to get that taken care of first. I'll give you a call back." About an hour later, I get a picture of a gorgeous bouquet of roses and other flowers which was sitting on the coffee table in the room with a "Happy Valentine's Day" note on the table and two high quality specialty chocolate bars. About an hour after that, he texts me to let me know we had 7:30PM reservations for two at Avelina which was a few blocks away. Matthew went WAY above and beyond to take care of me, and I'm truly grateful for his wonderful service. We love this hotel and it will probably become our go-to from here on out.

Yelp
Gave away my paid room because I was late and offered nothing in return. Not a great experience. The hotel is fine, rooms are extremely small.

Yelp
Hotel Teatro is a modern, vintage, historic hotel and is known as Denver's Original Boutique Hotel and really prides itself on exceptional service and attention to detail. When you walk in, you can see a lot of marble and woodwork that has been done. You also see a lot of character with modern flair in the interior. On the left-hand side, you will see Nickel restaurant which I will explain a bit later, and on the right side, is the check-in, and a library/lounge area for you to either work, study, or relax. It's a very nice comfortable area and this area was so beautiful for me to do work. I love the interior style of the lounge area where you get a nice historic vintage feel but it gave modern flair to the room as well. Hotel Teatro has 110 rooms with nine floors and there are 2 meeting spaces upstairs that can be turned into one room. The amenities of the hotel features free coffee and tea in your room, free Wi-Fi, laundry services, spa, and massage services, there is a 24-hour fitness center on the C floor, valet parking which costs $50 per night, dog-friendly, and daily housekeeping. The most exciting amenity that this hotel feature is FREE bike rentals for you to explore more in Denver. You can rent the bike as long as you want as long as you return it and sign a waiver. The Nickel restaurant (located inside the lobby) opens for breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday - Friday and 7:00 a.m to 11:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays. If you want to go for dinner, it opens from 4 pm to 10 pm Tuesdays-Thursdays and 3 pm-10 pm Fridays and Saturdays (it closes on Mondays). I got the pleasure to stay on the 4th floor at the Deluxe Corner King Suite. When I first walked in, I noticed right away the bathroom was massive. It had double sinks, a standup shower with a rainforest shower head, and a jacuzzi to relax at the end of a hot day. It was very beautiful and love the modern feel with historic touches in the bathroom as well. The bathroom was pretty much my favorite part of the hotel! I would love to have a bathroom like that someday! The bedroom was very nice as well as it was pretty large! Each guest room carries that same vintage and modern look as the lobby area and I love the vibe in the bedroom. The carpet fitted the theme well as that was a beautiful, well-designed, modern, vintage carpet. I also love the modern vintage light fixtures because I felt they added character to the room. There was also a nice lounge space where I got to sit and relax as well. There was also a refrigerator as well as a lock where you can store anything you don't want to leave out. I also really loved how high the ceilings were because it feels like the room is bigger and you don't feel claustrophobic inside the guest room. I loved the TV as well but I thought the layout of where the TV was a bit strange layout because the TV wasn't facing the bed where you can watch. The other rooms don't have that problem but that was one of the things I noticed. Another thing was that the view of my hotel was okay because I was facing a tan wall and the four seasons hotel and I didn't get much of a view while I was in my room. If you get maybe one of the higher rooms, you can probably see a great chunk of Downtown and Colorado itself. The room was great overall as it was super clean and spacious. Overall, beautiful hotel with stunning character and has a great personality. I highly recommend booking a stay here if you can because this hotel has great history while having modern touches here and there.

Yelp
I have dined at the Nickel and also have attended a meeting here at Hotel Teatro but had not stayed before. What a great experience! I had booked a queen room that had a sunken tub and balcony, so when I checked in, I was given a plate that had bubble bath and bath salts, as well as a $10 food credit and a free drink from the bar! Off to a great start. The room was super cozy and comfortable. I took advantage of the free cocktail and grabbed a prosecco to bring up to my room, filled the tub with bubbles and salts, then soaked. I also ordered a carafe of coffee to be delivered by room service the next morning. That was promptly delivered at 7:10 am - coffee was hot and brewed strong. Everything was PERFECT. I had a wonderful experience and felt super spoiled. Great digs - wonderful service as well. Next time I stay for a staycation, I'll bring my husband.

Yelp
Hotel Teatro saves the day! My fiancé and I were in Denver and needing a comfy spot to stay after a LONG day at a festival (and tour for him). We no longer live in the city and the closest place for us to sleep is an hour and a half away, so having a spot right in downtown Denver sounded more than a-okay. I will note that I won a giveaway for one night's stay (!) so our room was complimentary for the night, but I'm one hundred million percent sold and will be booking a stay here again ASAP. I was pretty familiar with Hotel Teatro from their dreamy study/bar/restaurant downstairs but had never had a reason to stay in the rooms. I called and made an appointment over the phone which was super easy. They asked if I wanted a queen room with a balcony and I told them that sounded like a dream. They then realized they were out of that room but had a deluxe king where we could stay. Sure! We had a crazy day leading up and while we were hoping to stop by before their 3 pm check in time, we ended up not being able to get there until after midnight. I called and made sure the staff was aware we would eventually be there, and they were really kind and helpful on the phone. We were dropped off and didn't do overnight valet, but it's $44 a night if you choose to do so (I'm sure there are cheaper lots nearby if you're looking for a cheaper option). Check in was easy and we headed up to what ended up being the nicest hotel room either one of us have ever stayed in. This room had not one, but TWO bathrooms, a fancy bathtub, two TVs, a living room, king bed, and two sets of fluffy robes. The room was as clean as could be and I promptly took advantage of the bathtub + robe situation. The bed was the comfiest thing I've laid down on in a super long time and I totally crashed until 11 am. We then had coffees and watched scary movies on TV until it was time to go. Sheer perfection. We didn't take advantage of the room service this time, but it's good to note that they offer it 24 hours a day (late night snackers raise your hands!). The rooms are stocked with all the things you might need (a keurig, hair dryer, extra towels, aforementioned robes, reading material, and the like). Check out is at noon but you can add an additional hour for free, which of course we did. We were hungry by that point and wanted to venture out for lunch on foot--the staff at Teatro was really helpful and hung onto our bags for a couple hours while we adventured. We left totally happy and refreshed! Many, many thanks to Hotel Teatro for being the comfiest spot to rest our tired bones. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
My stay in this hotel ended up being more significant than I ever imagined. Please take the time to read this if you are unsure of Hotel Teatro... My boyfriend and I were planning to take a road trip to Denver from Dallas and decided to book through Hotwire. We specifically searched for pet friendly hotels as we were taking our 9 y/o dog Rio with us. We ended up booking a hot rate deal and got the Brown Palace Hotel for four nights. On their website, they mention "The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa is pleased to be one of the most welcoming pet friendly hotels Denver offers. Please note that the hotel welcomes one dog under 60 pounds for a non-refundable deposit of $125." However, upon checking in at 11 pm after a terribly long drive, we discover that the so called pet friendly policy is not friendly at all! No complimentary dog bowls or bed were provided and dogs are not allowed to be left unattended in the room at any time. The pet fee is one of the most expensive I have ever encountered yet I have no idea what the cost is even allocated towards. I tried to explain to the hotel yet they were not helpful at all. Fortunately, I was able to speak with Hotwire who helped change my booking to a stay with Hotel Teatro. I had called prior and spoke with Matthew on the phone who reassured me that well behaved pets were allowed unattended in their rooms and there was no pet fee. Once we arrived at Hotel Teatro, we were greeted by Matthew who helped us get checked in. Since we had spoken on the phone earlier, he was aware of the ordeal I had with the BP. He kindly upgraded us to the deluxe corner king room which was such a sincere and thoughtful gesture. I really appreciated his hospitality and effort in making sure we felt welcomed and appreciated as guests. He even brought some treats and bowls for Rio to our room. The difference compared to the BP was night and day. Not to mention, the room was so beautiful and cozy. It definitely made my night that we were met with such kindness and were looking forward to the rest of our stay. Fast forward to Friday, my last full day at the hotel. I was in our room with Rio when all of a sudden, he collapsed and suffered from pericardial effusion. I attempted to rescue him with CPR and we quickly rushed him to the animal hospital. Unfortunately, he had already passed and it was too late. My trip which was supposed to be relaxing and fun quickly became overwhelmed with sadness and grief. I was in so much shock and felt completely heartbroken by my sudden loss. Rio was my first dog and meant so much to me. After we said our goodbyes, we arrived back at the hotel. I sat in the room crying as my boyfriend went to inform the hotel of the recent events. When Rio was passing, he lost control of his bladder and urinated on the carpet which we wanted to let them know about. As we were both grieving in our room, we received a knock on the door and a visit from Melissa who came to give us her condolences. She brought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate Rio's life along with a heartfelt handwritten letter on behalf of the hotel. For someone who has never experienced loss and felt so numb, this genuine act of care truly put me to tears. It gave me comfort to know that Rio's last moments were at a place where he was welcomed and loved even by strangers. Although we still grieved and cried many tears during our last night, we were able to make a special toast to our angel above. That horrible day will always be in my memory but I feel so grateful towards Hotel Teatro for making it as painless as they could. I couldn't imagine how I would've felt if we had been stuck at the BP instead. Thank you so much Matthew, Melissa, and the entire staff at Teatro for your incredible compassion, warmth, and generosity during the most significant trip of my life. I hope to return one day to be able to cherish my last memories with Rio.

Yelp
We loved our stay here! Situated right downtown across from Four Seasons close to the 16th street mall. Stayed in the top floor with the balcony rooms. The balconies are tiny, no seating. And it's not private. The room has a coffee maker and a fridge. The cafe was good. The food was limited due to covid but the burger was AWESOME. All staff were very pleasant. And the hotel is walking distance to like 3 different 7-11s lol.

Yelp
I had a lovely short stay in Denver at the Hotel Teatro. The check in and check out process was smooth and pleasant. I stayed on the 2nd floor and the room was the perfect boutique size for me. The bed was super comfortable and I loved the pillows. I must know where they get them because I need one! The room was super chilly (set to 65!). It was in the 90s outside so the cool air was nice, but I upped it to 68 for a cozier feeling. There was a desk and fridge. I appreciated the couch at the end of the bed for a mini seating area and spot to set some things. The bathroom was so spacious too! A bonus in a boutique-style room. There's an allure of a giant rainfall-style shower head, but in actuality I find it to be an experience I don't enjoy, especially when it's a small space. To find room to shave or avoid getting my hair wet is a debacle. There was also a bathtub if you're into that. The one downside was that the Chalk Art Fest was going on during my stay so after a very long travel day (up at 4am), I wanted to head to bed at a decent hour to catch up on my sleep, but the music stage was a block away and I could clearly hear the music, which started around 7pm and lasted till 10pm. I wasn't able to fall asleep until after it ended and found a sound machine app to attempt to drown some of it out. As a tired adult, I was frustrated. I couldn't imagine if there were families staying that weekend and trying to get their kids down. I would have appreciated some proactivity on the hotel's part to mention it at check in and offer up complimentary ear plugs. Regardless, I learned my lesson and will be packing my own for future trips.

Yelp
Dear hopeful traveler, We are locals who stayed here for a New Years field trip. This hotel is stunning! If we hadn't been determined to explore downtown (safely, masks on always I promise) I would have spent all day reading in the lobby. The location of Hotel Teatro is prime for anyone hoping to be a tourist downtown. It's a short walk to Larimer and 16th street which allowed us to take advantage of the free mall ride-making exploring even easier/faster/less cold. The room was beautiful and cozy. We had hoped to have a movie night in the room and there is no way to access any of your own streaming services accounts (I.e. Netflix). Not a huge deal, just a convenience we've grown used to at other hotels. The restaurant wasn't open during our stay but they did offer grab and go food/snack boxes. We purchased a charcuterie style box one night and it was...meh. I'd recommend bringing your own snacks if the restaurant is still closed! Overall, we loved our stay and hope to return for another staycation in the future :)

Yelp
We absolutely adore staying at Hotel Teatro! The service is phenomenal and the rooms are so spacious and lovely! We always reserve a balcony room to take in the gorgeous views of the city. Matthew always greets us with a huge hello and remembers us by name. He really cares about the guests that stay here. We had evening cocktails at the bar in the Nickel and Brian was so friendly-get the brussels appetizer-perfection! A huge thank you to the entire staff at Hotel Teatro for making my birthday and Valentine's celebration so wonderful!! Looking forward to staying with you all again very soon!

Yelp
I've been here both for a company holiday party and most recently for a holiday happy hour and both times were great. Hotel Teatro is one of those chic and cozy hotels that exude class without being pretentious. With large windows, warm colored walls and an oak bar, the space feels homey, even more so when it's all dolled up for Christmas! Staff is so welcoming and accommodating (most recently to our group of about 40) and made sure our drinks were never empty. Extensive drink options are available and the bar is always busy! There is a little restaurant to the left of the entrance that looks inviting and quaint! Although we didn't dine there, we were supplied appetizers for our party. Was a little disappointed in the appetizers offered, as nothing wow'd me or was replenished throughout our time there. While I haven't stayed here, I'd gladly like to and explore the city more!

Yelp
Have to think they're on the verge of closing. Restaurant was painfully short-staffed, weren't offering some menu items and zero beers on tap (despite having many draft beers on their menu)....only good thing I can say is our waiter couldn't have tried harder or been nicer. Only one elevator worked (also painfully slow) and our room was HOT. When I inquired about having the AC serviced, I was told by another very nice employee that they've had issues with the AC lately (in the entire hotel? Just our room? It was unclear). Front staff was quick to offer a portable AC unit for our room which, no surprise here, wasn't blowing cool air. Towels were damp (caused by the humidity in our room?) and the grout in the shower was dirty, to say the least. HVAC vents in the public restrooms on the bottom floor were missing covers (yes, all of them). Inexplicably there was a giant moth in our room....on the 9th floor. Maybe it came in through the missing vent covers! All in all, this is a 3 star hotel at best. Which is disappointing because it's a gorgeous old building and the employees are so eager to please....they just don't have much to work with.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for intimate boutique hotels and this one was charming. Stayed just a night and still felt very well taken care of. When I called prior to arriving to try and get a room with a giant soaking tub in the bathroom, I was accommodated with a cheerful "no problem!" The lobby is a bit odd as when you walk in the door it's not right in front of you - it's off to the right and very small. I checked in with no issues and went up to my room. Tile entry, long skinny bathroom to the left (the Vanity had room for two sinks, but oddly there was only one.) Shower and tub were separate. Make up mirror light was broken. Sleeping area had a large tall bed, with four different kinds of pillows. Huge flatscreen TV I never turned on. A small "loveseat" at the foot of the bed with a coffee table in front of it faced the TV. Across from the left side of the bed was the desk with just barely enough room to pull out the chair. Next to that was a countertop with the Keurig on it with several types of coffee and tea sugar etc. Under that was the mini fridge which was actually empty of $7 tiny liquor bottles and $10 cashews. Tub was lovely, robe a nice touch. I slept well and never heard and outside noise. We had a reception the night I was there and the food was quite good. I'm guessing it came from the attached restaurant, which I'll try next time.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at the (Hotel Teatro). Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in were delightful and eager to help! Thank you! Will recommend to my colleagues! The hotel is located just steps away from the 16th street mall. Although downtown was a little slow (most shops were closed) The convenience of the room nearby was really worth it. This is the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in Denver. The restaurant The Nickel was classy with an awesome menu with room service. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Matthew Slavsky, this guy doesn't sit behind a big wooden desk in the lobby looking bored. He circulates and finds YOU and really makes sure you are well taken care of. Any questions, issues, or directions he is the Go-To guy!. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown Denver. We will come back. Thank you Team Teatro well done.

Yelp
After attending a Christmas work party here, I found myself in awe of this hotels charm! It's chic, warm, and trendy! While the bartenders walked around offering a wide range of speciality cocktails or wine, we snacked on various apps consisting of cheese and crackers, mini sliders, and artichoke hearts. I ordered an old fashion drink, and not only found the presentation to be classy, but it tasted killer! Featuring a beautiful oak bar and large wooden doors, our group mingled in the event room to the right of the main entrance. Decorated with Christmas trees and high top tables, it was classy and warm. Although I have not personally stayed at this hotel, I would like too, and can absolutely recommend this as a great place to host a party. Location is prime, as it's right off 16th and Stout and everything about this hotel is chic, warm and inviting!
