Estonia's Christmas Markets

"For the complete package, make sure you’ve booked a room at the Michelin-recommended Telegraaf Hotel , which is located less than 100m from the main square. As the name suggests, it sits within the 1878 former telegraph centre, a place where people would connect with each other – and this sentiment remains today. It’s one of Tallinn’s boutique hotels and, while its bedrooms retain something of an old-world style in their proportions, they have been brought smartly up to date. It also benefits from a lovely spa – and what better way to warm up after a day at the market than in the sauna, hot tub or steam bath? After this, get glammed up and head to the lobby bar for a cocktail or two." - Elizabeth Winter

Hotel Telegraaf (Tallinn, Estonia) 6 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The historic center of Tallinn is rich with architectural history, even as the city has emerged as a modern European capital. And something similar can be said for the Hotel Telegraaf — though it’s housed in a 19th-century building that was once the city’s telegraph exchange, it’s a thoroughly modern luxury boutique hotel." - Tablet Hotels

This is the best Bonvoy property in the Baltic. I have stayed here a couple times now and have never been disappointed. The hotel is in the perfect location for those visiting the “old city” part of Tallinn. You are steps aways from the main square and the hotel is inside the ancient city walls of Tallinn. The hotel is a fantastic mix of a historic building with fully modern rooms and renovated spaces. The hotel restaurant is excellent and the outdoor space is great for eating a delicious, full breakfast before starting your day exploring the city. Having stayed here multiple times, if you aren’t staying in a suite, ask to be out in the newer section of the hotel as the rooms are set up like a modern hotel room with a nice full soda. The rooms also have balcony doors that open up to fresh air and it makes for a great night’s sleep up have the gentle cool breeze come in off the nearby sea. It is also very quiet and relaxing. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that there is no on-site gym. You have to walk a couple blocks to a local fitness club and show your room key to get in (with no charge). The fitness club closes by 8:30pm, so for those wanting 24/7 gym access, I found a state of the art gym above the grocery store near the hotel where you swipe your credit card for €6 and are let in whenever you want.

This hotel is easy walking distance to all attractions in the old town as well as many great restaurants and shopping. All staff were attentive and pleasant to interact with. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Air conditioning in the summer is a nice plus as well as having the option for heated bathroom flooring. ||We greatly enjoyed the spa and the pool. We did not participate in breakfast at the hotel but instead enjoyed a variety of cafes within walking distance. This is a very quiet hotel. This is the best place to stay in the heart of Tallinn old town.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for three nights at the end of July 2025. Great location in the Old Town, close to all the main attractions of Tallinn. Clean, comfortable rooms. Good service. Very helpful reception staff. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay while visiting Tallinn.||Please note: Do not book this hotel if you are planning to drive your own or a rental car. You will not be allowed to do so as traffic in the Old Town is limited. We were stopped by the police but miraculously allowed to continue. Not everyone will be so lucky.

We had a wonderful 4 days at the Telgraff. Exceptional dining at the Tchaikovsky Restaurant. So well presented in every way. Perfect location to access everything in the historic town. Spa was a nice way to wind down and the facial great. Value for money. The only comment I would add would be to have the spa open in the morning and during the day.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Telegraaf. The location truly can't be beat - right in the heart of Tallinn's Old Town, just steps from beautiful historic sites, charming streets and great restaurants. It made exploring the city incredibly convenient.||Breakfast was wonderful each morning. The selection was generous, fresh and beautifully presented, with both hot and cold options. The made to order omelets were my favorite!||Our room for three was on the smaller side and began to feel cramped by the third night. The main downside was the shower design - I don't know how you don't get water all over the bathroom floor. Enclosing it fully would be better.||Overall, we'd stay here again for the location and pleasant staff.

We booked this hotel with very high expectations as it was our anniversary and the end of the trip. We read very good comments and paid a high price, so expected the best. We informed that we would be arriving at 12am and would love to check out a bit earlier if possible, but the room was not ready even at 4pm, we still had to wait a few minutes as they were finalizing it. I previously informed that it was a special date and having travelled a lot and stayed in similar hotels, they have always prepared a little treat for the celebration, but on this case there was nothing, not even a mention from the front desk. Service seemed very cold and uninterested. I never had a turndown service, even when asking for it on the last night. Room was very nice and good size (Executive room), even though the entrance hall and closet were very small. Bathroom was nice but also small and would get all wet after the shower. Breakfast was very good with high quality products. Also some egg options to order on the menu. Location was quite amazing, 3 minutes from the town hall square. SPA area was very nice too. Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and hammam. Overall the hotel itself was very beautiful and good facilities but lacks the personalized an attentive service that a hotel like this should offer. Would definitely look for other option when back in Tallinn.

My local travel agent recommended this hotel. The stay was generally fantastic. ||Check-in was a breeze, and a hotel attendant assisted with the luggage. The room and bathroom were spacious for me, and the air-conditioning was working even though it was cooling in Tallinn, thank god. The hotel and my local agent were lovely to have included chocolates and champagne during my stay as a welcome gift. Breakfast came with some hiccup (between the hotel and my agent), but all went well in the end. Food choice during breakfast was limited but sufficient to keep your day going. The best of all is the location. Centrally located and within reach (<10 mins walk) of many sightseeing places.||However, please note that the hotel entrance only has stairs and no lift option.

Very nice hotel and extremely well located in the Center or Tallinn. Breakfast buffet very well selected with fresh local food - pretty much everything you expect from a five star hotel. Minus one for the Spa. Opening hours not good and staff quite unfriendly
