Hotel Tugu Lombok

"The lobby of this intimate resort is a 100-year-old carved wooden house incorporating Malay, Chinese, and colonial influences and stocked with funky antiques; dining is in a soaring pavilion by the pool, presided over by sculptures of Hindu deities. (Tugu Hotels' founder and designer has amassed quite the collection of fine Indonesian antiquities.) Spacious bungalows nestle around shaded walkways and brilliant tropical gardens, giving the place the tranquil atmosphere of a secluded compound, with hand-hewn furniture and copper tubs in the outdoor bathrooms. The Bhagavad Gita suites have detached bathhouses equipped with Lombok-style bucket-showers; out front, private gardens with plunge pools open onto the white-powder Sire Beach. The feeling of isolation is maximized by Tugu's surroundings—farming villages and virgin wilderness—with the only other modern note an adjacent 18-hole golf course."

The Best Beach Hotels In Southeast Asia That Embrace Local Culture

"The Tugu Lombok is over-the-top, to be sure, but the aesthetic is firmly rooted in the region’s rich pre-colonial history, most particularly the ancient Majapahit era, when a prosperous Hindu kingdom ruled the island." - Mark Fedeli

If you’re looking for a luxurious, authentic, and unforgettable stay in Lombok, look no further than Tugu Hotel. We chose this hotel as our last stop for our trip through Indonesia and feel this was an excellent decision! (Also: we chose this location over the accommodations on the Gili islands as these seemed a bit crowded and limited to go places + tugu has 2 boats of its own) From the moment we arrived, we were completely enchanted by the charm, serenity, and unique character of this beachfront haven.||The hotel’s beachfront location is absolutely unbeatable. With panoramic views of the ocean, mount Rinjani and the gentle sound of waves, it feels like stepping into a tropical postcard. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, enjoying breakfast with a view, or strolling along the shore at sunset, the setting is nothing short of magical.||One of the most unique aspects of Tugu Lombok is that it’s not just a hotel — it’s also a living museum. The property is filled with beautifully preserved antiques, ancient statues, hand-carved doors, and relics that reflect Indonesia’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Every corner tells a story, and exploring the grounds feels like walking through history. It adds an atmosphere of timelessness and wonder you simply won’t find anywhere else.||We also had the pleasure of snorkeling and fishing organized by the hotel, which were both top-tier experiences. The snorkeling was spectacular, with vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life, and the fishing trip was equally memorable. The best part? The chef prepared our catch of that morning for lunch that day, beautifully presented and full of flavor.||And then there’s the staff — warm, professional, and truly attentive. Every member of the team went the extra mile to make our stay unforgettable. From personalized welcome notes to thoughtful surprises in the room, their level of care and attention to detail made us feel like honored guests.||Tugu Hotel Lombok is more than just a place to stay — it’s a cultural experience, a peaceful escape, and a feast for the senses. We can’t recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to return.

Tugu will forever hold a special place in my heart as the location for my first healing wellness retreat. They have the best service I’ve encountered almost anywhere in the world - genuinely kind staff who seem to truly love their jobs and care about each guest. Photos of this place do not do it justice in the slightest. I think it has something to do with the size. The buildings, the grounds, the rooms - everything is huge and breathtaking! The antiques, the food, the pools, the special events they plan, the quick response of the staff to any request, the sustainable artistry they use when decorating with plants and flowers… it’s all exceptional. Yes, there are lots of bugs because you are basically in the jungle. They are constantly working to keep nature out, and succeed pretty admirably. I spent a week here with my guests and already miss it… and am already planning to come back. The value you get for money is incomparable to anywhere else I’ve been. There is simply no other place like it!

I am only giving the rooms a 4 because my wife couldn't handle the bugs in our first room. They moved us to another room, which was way better and an upgrade! The food was pretty good. I saw that because I really loved the dinners we had in the nearby village better... which is walking distance from the hotel. But, the service was great and the fruit and ice cubes are safe! Lastly, i did get eaten alive during our couples massage, so i had to take a point off for that.

Honestly just wow. The imagine I had in my head of a beach hotel on an island, this hotel lived up too. The beach itself was beautiful, onto the clear calm sea. They have beach loungers and shade and a cute swing to enjoy time by the beach. The pool was so warm I was so impressed as I’m often the one saying how cold pools are! It’s beautiful and peaceful. You could easily spend days by the pool and beach. We tried the hotel spa, I’ve never had a treatment while looking out on the beach - amazing! The restaurant food was delicious. I’m vegetarian and did have options. We did dinner on the beach and they kindly customised the menu to meet my dietary needs without any fuss. The hotel made us feel so welcome and special which just added to the amazing stay. Highly recommend

We arrived at Hotel Tugu after a wonderful but exhausting trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani - and there could have been no better way to recover. The hotel itself is hidden away on the Siri peninsula amongst tropical gardens and sandy coral lined beaches. Our room was amazingly spacious, with an outdoor bathroom, private pool and separate bedroom and bathroom for our son. The ancient and local decor of the place makes you feel you've been transported away to a lost temple. The staff were amazingly helpful, knew everyone by name, and knew what your agenda was for the day - making you feel very well looked after. We thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class, half day snorkelling trip to swim with turtles in the Gili's, and the romantic dinner on the beach. Thank you Tugu, will will be back.

We stayed at Tugu April 2025. Believe me, this hotel is one of a kind. The moment you enter the resort, it feels like you are in some ancient place with all the art work around. The rooms are spacious and the interior work is something that I have not seen anywhere else. Private beach with white sand. The food was superb and we enjoyed every dish that we ordered. They arranged for a dinner on the beach as well which was very nice. The staff takes care of you like a family. The half day snorkeling trip to the Gilis was great as well. Thank you for everything. We will be back.

Everything at Tugu Lombok is amazing, the villas, food, drinks, beach & the facilities. The overall atmosphere at the resort is a serene luxury experience. However the undoubted highlight is the incredible staff, by far the best we have ever encountered ! They have an unbelievable combination of friendliness, generosity & a genuine desire to make you feel wellcome at all times. It makes you feel so lucky to be staying at Tugu. Special mention to Khabir, Dedy, Windha,Ruslan & Fahred. We truly hope to stay at Tugu Lombok again, it is exceptional & perfect.

I have travelled a lot, but I don't think I ever came across an hotel like Tugu. From the moment you arrive and enter the hall, the music, the atmosphere, the koi, the arts, you feel you got in some sort of movie set, or a fairytale. Then you start exploring the hotel and there is no one single corner which is not being curated to leave you speechless. The room is nice until you discover that the whole bathroom is outdoor - mind-blown! The level of service, the staff are comparable to top 5 stars hotel and tbf some of the details are way better. The food was excellent, high standard for Lombok and for usually pretty average hotel food. Everything is so well curated that you really don't want to leave... but you have to with the hope to come back! PS. The pictures on the booking websites don't give justice at all to the place.
