This was my first trip to this hotel.||I was on business travel event rather than for personal pleasure.||In all correspondence with the team they were professional and very capable despite some challenges that they faced with a software upgrade.||The room/suite was available ahead of arrival and the team well prepared on the organisation side.||Design||The entrance to the hotel is through Dam Square, with the entire hotel centred around an atrium leading up to the sixth-seventh floors.||Reception is on the ground floor as well as the Concierge, and restaurant and bar on the third floor with rooms above.||As the rooms are all from the fourth floor upwards, they have a good view and, despite the location in most cases on Dam Square, the sound proofing is excellent. ||Each room design is distinctive and the photographs do not do justice in that they are quite dark in nature, but what is not clear is the quality of the furnishings and the cleanliness and crispness of the room. ||The photographs sometimes give the impression of a slightly dark and seedy hotel, but it is anything but.||Appliances, features, the bathroom are all modern, fresh and well apportioned.||The hotel, I understand, plays to couples, honeymoon events and this is evident by the nature of the furnishings and the quality of the bathroom arrangements.||There are Butlers on the floor and a well apportioned fridge, and a good turndown service.||Unusually, the team offer two types of toiletries, Lalique and Lanvin, which was a refreshing change.||Breakfast, which has a good reputation, is served in the main restaurant on the third floor.||The breakfast seems to have many comments about its quality and diversity, and whilst the standard was good and the range good, I am afraid I would not rank it any better than other high-quality five star establishments.||Summary||This hotel deserves the high scores on Tripadvisor and other areas, as the other hotels which position themselves of a five star standard, do not seem to tick all the boxes. ||We are also Rosewood and Four Seasons fans and so it will be interesting to see how the new Rosewood compares when it opens in Spring 2025. Irrespective, for those who love the décor and the design, you will thoroughly enjoy this hotel.
