Valldemossa Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par

"Set in a pair of 19th-century Mallorcan stone houses whose walls still embrace parts of the nearby Royal Carthusian Monastery, this adult-only hotel genuinely has peace and quiet in its bones. Located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana UNESCO landscape, the place immediately slows you down after the roughly 30-minute transfer from Palma Airport (the hotel’s premium black vehicles are even parked at arrivals), and the hilltop town of Valldemossa is a pleasing five-minute stroll away. The IT Mallorca team (Miguel Conde and architect Cristina Marti) have executed a stylish, Spanish restoration using local materials, artisans and artists, while introducing African-infused interiors and outrageously large terraces that deliver phenomenal views. Service feels impressive and unforced: you get a relaxed but thorough orientation on arrival, staff remain respectfully distant unless summoned via the black landlines by the pool or spa, and the spa can be booked for an hour daily (I recommend the non‑bruising, rebalancing lymphatic drainage). Small quirks at breakfast—no questioning about eggs, toast as a given, no fussing over latte versus flat white—only add to the authentic, mountainside Mallorca vibe. With just 12 rooms, five-star rating, amenities that include a restaurant, bar, spa, pools and an outdoor gym, and prices from about USD 1,200, it’s a chic, restorative retreat for couples who want to slow down."

This hotel is a sanctuary with breathtaking views of the Tramuntana Mountains and historic Carthusian Monastery. Watching the colours shift as the sun sets is a meditative experience. The interiors are beautifully designed in understated, earthy tones with carefully chosen artworks. The staff are exceptionally courteous, warm, and helpful. I don’t usually dine in hotel restaurants, but I’m so glad I tried De Tokio a Lima where the meals were outstanding. This hotel is a very special place, serene, calming, and deeply restorative. It’s the perfect setting to recharge and feel renewed. I truly cannot wait to return.

Hotel Valldemossa is five-star across the board. Chic spaces, attentive staff, and views that stop you in your tracks made this one of the most memorable stays I have ever had.||From the start, Gonzalo set the tone by meeting us at our car, walking us up the grand staircase, handing us welcome drinks, and guiding us through a map of the island. His tips on beaches, sights, and restaurants came with the insight of a Mallorca native who truly loves Valldemossa and takes pride in his role.||Our room was chic and comfortable, with dramatic lighting and a spa-like bathroom. From the porch we had sweeping views of farms, mountains, the monastery, and the church in Valldemossa. Day or night, the views were breathtaking; even from the shower, you could see the monastery.||The pool area was gorgeous, and the spa felt like a hidden sanctuary with a sauna, plunge pool, and private hourly use. I had a chance to talk with Nathaniel, one of the practitioners, about his approach to Chinese medicine, cupping, and other treatments. His expertise made it clear that next time I will set aside time for a session.||The staff made our stay special. Sara was warm and helpful, full of dining suggestions and reservations. Salim provided endless recommendations. Every night when we returned, the front desk team greeted us with genuine kindness and conversation.||Breakfast with mountain views, comfortable beds, and the intimate setting of only 12 rooms tied everything together. My only small suggestion would be an extra bedside outlet for phone charging.||Hotel Valldemossa is not just a hotel, it is an experience. I left already planning my return, this time for longer, to slow down and enjoy everything the hotel and the surrounding area have to offer.

An Unforgettable Fairytale in Mallorca My husband and I just completed a five-day stay at Hotel Valldemossa, and it was, without a doubt, the most magical and exceptional experience of our lives. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a truly special place. A huge part of this was our incredible host, Selim, who treated us not just as guests, but like royalty. His warmth, genuine care, and impeccable attention to every detail were truly one of a kind. He anticipated our every need and went above and beyond to make our stay a dream come true. The entire staff was equally beyond amazing. Their professionalism and kindness were unmatched. On this trip, we wanted to reconfirm our marriage, and Selim and the team set up the entire ceremony for us in the most remarkable way. The setting was breathtakingly beautiful, and the fact that they took the time to capture the moment by taking pictures for us was a detail we will cherish forever. Beyond the personal touches, the hotel's amenities were flawless. Our dinner at the restaurant was "beyond worlds"—a culinary journey that was simply unforgettable. The flavors, the presentation, and the service were perfect. We also had the most incredible, one-of-a-kind massages at the spa, which left us feeling completely rejuvenated. Hotel Valldemossa is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience that will stay with you long after you leave. We recommend it without any hesitation and cannot wait to return. Thank you, Selim and the entire team, for giving us memories that will last a lifetime.

Understated luxury where rustic traditional Mallorca meets 5 * ultra modern where it counts. With only 12 rooms it is often so peaceful you feel you are the only guests in your very own private villa. |This magical hotel oozes charm under pinned by exceptional service from the entire team. The welcome back from Anna and Salim was truly exceptional with the latter playing back all our previous visit minor comments and how they had addressed them since our last visit - They had…|Jessica the hostess in De Tokio Lima was outstanding too, her welcome as genuine as her enthusiasm for the incredible food. |Adriana and Marina too familiar faces, welcoming us back and delivering understated and exceptional service. ||Often when a small hotel is taken over by a larger property company it can lose its identity and some of its original charm. Here at Hotel Valldemossa the opposite has been achieved, the IT group has with great skill retained the hotels magical history but with brilliant design blended in the luxury modern elements desired by returning guests. ||Once you’ve been, it’s just impossible not to rebook which is exactly what we did (again) as we left. ||Thank you Anna and the whole team. ||A&C …Chopin…..

Our stay at Hotel Valldemossa was truly one of the best experiences of our lives. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning — the architecture, the interior decor, and the gorgeous surrounding landscape. The pool area is so tranquil with the surrounding trees and the serene bubbling of the fountain. We never had trouble finding lounge chairs by the pool. The spa experience is incredible; you get to reserve the sauna and indoor pool area for an hour at a time and enjoy it privately. It felt so nice alternating between the hot sauna and the cool water of the indoor pool. The restaurant is phenomenal. We loved all the snacks that could be delivered to you poolside (the cheese plate, the burger, the pan con tomate) and all the dinner options were sublime (especially the pork tacos, the lobster tacos, the sirloin steak, and the market fish). But what really makes Hotel Valldemossa special is the staff. We could never express our gratitude for how welcoming and accommodating they were. We actually decided to extend our stay another day because of how much we loved it there, and they kindly helped us with this and helped us extend our rental car arrangement. They also provided excellent restaurant recommendations and called to arrange reservations for us. We are so deeply grateful to Selim, Gonzalo, and Adriana for how well they took care of us and for their kind and welcoming hearts. We will absolutely be coming back and I cannot recommend Hotel Valldemossa enough.

Beautiful, quiet, small 12 room Hotel. My Daughter and I felt like we had the hotel for our selfs most of the time, which we like it that way. The accommodations, food, staff were all 5stars! Well worth the money . I has the scalp massage treatment , it was just OK. It was like getting your hair washed 5 times, not worth my time or money.

This place is absolutely stunning. I had done my fair research online and chose to stay in Valldemossa when my wife and I decided to visit Mallorca. Our stay at Hotel Valldemossa was beyond great from start to finish. We got greeted by Tim right when we got there and got to enjoy few tapas and drinks at their restaurant De Tokio a Lima, which by the way had great food - it is almost like the menu was tailored for the amazing view you get to enjoy while eating there. In addition, Adriana was the absolute best. She went thru all the amenities with us and always made sure we were happy. And I don't mean it in a way that was extravagant or exaggerated - she was there everytime we needed like she knew when we needed something - she just knew we needed something before we realized we even needed something. It is like she had a twin sister or something because she was at the front desk before we went to bed and was there the very next day early in the morning, I even had to ask her if she had gone home at all. We loved the private spa, which is by reservation and provided my wife and I a great time together. Getting in the indoor pool having our drinks delivered to us and jumping in the sauna just the two of us made the moment even more special. The hotel has a stunning view, waking up and having breakfast with that view is something you can't really put a price tag on. They also made sure to provide guidance and tips on any services, restaurants, excursions we were interested in. I ended up booking a half day boat ride with Toni Rigo per their referral (boat ride was wonderful by the way), and although I had a rental car to get to the marina, they ensured we would find the right spot to meet up and even offered to get us there on a transfer. I know for sure I am going back as soon as we get a chance. The town is also just 5 min walk away. My wife and I loved our stay, we have the outmost respect for the owners and the management, everything, from the little touches to the food, everything was thought out perfectly. Make sure to check out the other hotels in Mallorca own by the same group, we ended up staying at Hotel Calatrava on our last night in Mallorca, and we experienced the same level of hospitality as we had at Hotel Valldemossa. Bravo! We will be going back hopefully many times in our lifetime!

Wow, what a property truly a “sanctuary”.|We stayed one night and wish it could have been a week. We maximized our time enjoying all that the hotel had to offer-enjoyed the private pool, wandered the grounds and relished the beautiful surroundings, the impeccable interior and exterior design of the hotel and grounds. Tim G was the perfect guide/host, Anna the manger made sure our experience was perfectly tailored to our needs (we were celebrating 36 years of marriage) and Jessica and staff at the De Tokio Lima restaurant made our dinner truly memorable (in our top 50 ever dining experiences). We look forward to returning and also experiencing other “It Mallorca” brand hotels/properties.
