My wife and I spent a month here after moving from the east coast, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was wonderful, and we really appreciated the hotel’s stylish design. It was also a big plus to have a restaurant and a Starbucks right nearby, making it easy to grab a bite or a coffee without having to wander too far from our room.

Google
(Stayed here August 2023) Hotel Vance in Portland offers spacious rooms that are quite substantial in size, though they lack a certain charm or character that could make them more inviting. The accommodations are functional and comfortable, which should suffice for most travellers, but they don't quite stand out in terms of ambiance. Upon checking in, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, addressing any queries promptly and ensuring a smooth start to the stay. Making the overall experience pleasant and hassle-free. In terms of location, Hotel Vance is situated a bit off the beaten path. While this might not be ideal for those seeking immediate access to downtown Portland, it's not a major issue if you have access to public transportation or your own vehicle. The area is relatively quiet, which can be a plus for those looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Overall, Hotel Vance offers a solid choice for travellers looking for spacious accommodations with reliable service - Would recommend.

Google
Positive: Hotel Vance has a convenient central location with a nice bar/restaurant and Starbucks you can access through the lobby. It's simple but very clean. The trash was taken out and water/coffee supplies restocked daily. It's a good value overall. Negative: I've stayed here twice this year and the beds are not my favorite. They're too firm.

Google
I have been to many hotels but, this is Best hotel I've ever stayed in Portland Oregon. The art and the cleaners of the hotel is an A+. The staff is very professional and courteous. They actually makes you feel very comfortable. The manager Mark is so polite and professional as well. I recommend everyone to stay here it is definitely a 5 star portfolio hotel for sure.👍

Google
This "boutique" hotel is too boutique for its own good. To echo what a lot of other people are saying the rooms are cheap but dimly lit and very cold design wise. Parking was $50, that price is not listed on their website at all. I want to like this hotel, really I do. But it doesn't matter how "boutique" you are, when the rooms are not welcoming and there are hidden fees at that point it's just a poor product/service. Stay here for a couple of nights max if you're looking for a place in a good location, but that's it's only selling point. Otherwise you get what you pay for, which isn't much.

Google
Despite the overall 4.1 rating it makes sense why rooms here are so inexpensive. The atmosphere and design of my room was cavernous, cold, and creepy. The lighting is dim and not warm at all and, other than the bed, furnishings are uncomfortable and spartan. The floor was sticky, and in general the room has a lot of visible wear and tear and looks dirty. The shower is only an overhead rain type which does not work well if you actually want to get clean and finish within a timely manner or not get your hair wet. Staff was nice. Parking is $50.

Google
Booked the Hotel Vance through the Bonvoy App because it was relatively close to where my daughter was having medical tests. Upon checking into our room and checking the queen beds, it was obvious one hadn’t been cleaned, there were lots of hairs and what appeared to be feces stains on the sheets. We called the front desk and they moved us to a new room on a different floor. We hauled our repacked stuff to the new room. There the beds were clean but multiple towels were stained or dirty. No follow up from the staff, no other accommodation. I’m surprised this is a Marriott hotel. I don’t recommend you stay here until management improves the cleanliness of the hotel.

Google
The rooms were a let down. The bed was hard as a rock, the lighting dim, and there was no fan in the bathroom. We did like the Starbucks on the ground floor and the excellent blackout curtains. We would not stay again just to save our backs.

Kristen M.

Yelp
Loved the modern vibe, cleanliness of the space, helpfulness of the staff and the best blackout curtains, ever! The parking entrance was a bit tight, but there was plenty of space and the concierge explained how to get in and out without paying. At night the parking is secured by card entry. Would stay again in a heartbeat, even though the neighborhood is a bit urban, and I didn't feel totally safe walking at night. Daytime felt safer for exploring.

Amy D.

Yelp
This hotel is in the middle of the business side of downtown. It was safe walking around at night. The hotel itself looked new. My room was super clean. Loved it I had a room with a bit of a view so working in the room wasn't so unbearable. But there's also a nice hand out area on the second floor with plenty of tables and chairs and sofas. I also used the fitness center. It's a pretty basic and underwhelming amenity with limited free weights, some cardio machines and a cage with missing parts. The restaurant downstairs is promising. Had a couple drinks there that was good. The Bugolgi was okay. I want to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
A truly first timer at this modern looking Hotel Vance! Stayed here for 1-night to attend a Comic Con event at the Hilton hotel. Parking lot was extremely small and tight to maneuver in, especially with a large SUV!!! The rooms were very nice, ambiance was good and view from the hotel room was great! Could see downtown Portland. The atmosphere outside of the hotel was so-so, as a lot of the shops and restaurants seemed old and run down. Didn't really get a true touristy feel. The hotel seemed like brand new compared to other buildings on the street. Overall, a pretty decent hotel and service at the front desk was excellent!

Alicia A.

Yelp
Spacious rooms and clean. Very modern. Beds are super comfy and inviting. Good water pressure in the shower. Only weird thing is the half glass shower door which got everything wet but it's clean and comfortable.

Scott H.

Yelp
Big empty room. Plenty of room for a sofa, especially for a four-night stay. I love the minimalist feel, but this room seriously lacks amenities. Two out of three elevators not working. Waits up to 15 minutes to board an elevator. Competing with staff who are using elevators for housekeeping. That is, housekeeping they failed to do on my room despite my specifically requesting it. They're getting two stars, not one because I like the view from my room. This hotel is trying to be something that it is not. Why do I have two desks in my room and no sofa but giant expanses of wall screaming for something.

Jennie T.

Yelp
I stayed in here for three nights, and overall it was a peaceful stay. The hotel is located near all the action Portland has to offer, and it is also just a minute away from Portland State University (if you know someone there, this can be helpful). Unfortunately, the area is also known for a lot of homeless wandering around, some even doing drugs in the daytime, so be cautious. The bed was super comfortable, and the outlets worked just fine. It was a really big space to walk around in with a large flat screen as well. I was impressed by that. But, I was confused at how their shower screen didn't close, so you're bound to get the floor wet. Plus, some of their towels were stained and it was discomforting to see. Staff was friendly, and in the building they do have a Starbucks and a restaurant to eat at. In addition, they have a parking lot you can use during your stay- for a fee. I was happy to be here, and would do it again. The location is great, but also comes with certain risks, so proceed carefully.

Chanel B.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was beautiful, modern and clean. However, they were short staffed with housekeeping on some nights, but tried their best to accommodate with our needs. Their public restrooms also needed to be restocked and they were out of soap and paper towels for the days I stayed. The lobby is a nice meeting area and they have a few conference rooms available for meetings, a good size fitness room, a convenient restaurant called Beastro with Hawaiian/Korean fusion-- good food and the lounge area upstairs on the 2nd floor. It is relaxing and spacious. Good area to sit and wait somewhere to read a book, catch up on work, or wait until your departure. I would definitely be back to stay here. The downtown city views are great as well!

Piyush Y.

Yelp
I can't stress enough Amazing staff Very helpful Very accommodating My fav hotel In Portland

Yelp
I stayed at Hotel Vance while on vacation in Portland. We were very happy with this hotel! I would certainly stay here again with how clean they are. No complaints.

Yelp
SERVICE & CHECKIN Record for the fastest checkin... ever-- Well done gentlemen Good customer service throughout our stay & phone service was consistently efficient. Late checkout is costly & more of a deterrent: $75 until 2pm. Early checkin was free. LOBBY, ELEVATOR, CORRIDORS Swanky vibes from every transition. Lots of strategic negative space & comfortable lobby seating. Clean, chromatic, contemporary lifts with LEDs & plenty of space. Artsy decor. ROOM https://youtube.com/shorts/k-d0WQ_SiOY L-shaped guest room featuring a contemporary theme, high ceilings, & wood floors. The design is off-putting; the dreary lighting, poor color psychology, & imbalanced use of space creates a bleak dungeon-like atmosphere. There's a hodgepodge of seating options, medium-size armoire, & huge workspace (undermined by lack of ergonomics). Power outlets are in very specific & limited locations. This was a stressful & uncomfortable accommodation. BED Decent bed config: A King Beauty Rest mattress that provided excellent support enhanced by a soft plush topper. Good sheet selection, soft 100% cotton, & a cozy insulating duvet. The pillow situation was 'silly'; undersized (Standard) on dimensions, quantity, & and weak fill. BATH Oof... Good water pressure with designer (Gilchrist & Soames) products, but a painful shower experience: a cramped glass half-barrier walk-in. Width is insufficient for an average build adult, requiring a focused effort to avoid painful contact with the wall. The limited length is further shortened by their shower head choice & ledge installation. After all the trouble of bathing, you're left in a plume of fog due to poor (0) ventilation & the sealed windows. The other fixtures were proportionally small & worn. TV & ENTERTAINMENT Impressive picture quality. A 55" LG UHD flatscreen with basic programming. The fixed mount makes it impossible to connect an HDMI device or take advantage of the pre positioned setting. Thankfully it's Chromecast-ready if you can get that to work. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION Unencrypted free WiFi was underperforming for work & most things. No alternative premium offering. Cell coverage was good enough to hotspot. --Performance-- Video streaming - poor Online gaming - poor Video chatting - poor --Nerd Stats-- 11-14 Mbps download 11-14 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 33 ms latency 33 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK DoorDash contactless delivery is supported. In-room amenities included: a small mini fridge, 2 free bottles of water, & a mini cuisine art coffee bar stashed cleverly in the armoire. NOISE It was a quiet stay initially, like Ghost-town quiet. After our neighbors checked in, it was no longer peaceful; full conversations & slamming doors echo loudly from the entrance. VERDICT Good cleaning standards & upkeep but the room was such a drag; we walked away with 0 curiosity for returning and/or exploring other floor plans. The interior design is too clever by half & I wouldn't recommend this one if you're optimizing for comfort or work(cation). Competition in the vicinity is too good 2.5/5

Yelp
While the hotel was fine, it proved not a great fit for business travel. There was no hotel restaurant to speak of (the only option was a separate Asian restaurant with a menu of fried/semi-fried food) and a fairly stark/uncomfortable desk/chair (which was inadequate for any sort of work or Zoom call). Worth noting that the staff was very friendly. If you love the minimalist, fairly dark (meaning not well-lit), modern look, then this could be a great spot for a social stay, but overall, not the warm, comfy respite I had been hoping for after a day of meetings.

Linda Y.

Yelp
Very cute and clean hotel! There is usually one staff working the front desk so you may have to wait! The corner rooms have the best views! This hotel is local and walking distance to a lot of food and bars! They don't have robes but they do offer slippers. The towels are not the softest but their bed is extremely comfortable! Lots of outlets in our room which is very convenient!

Maria P.

Yelp
Excellent location and service with Meghan and the gentlemen who was able to let me check in early was great. Since I arrived early at 1pm, I didn't get the top floor. Thou the room was quiet and comfortable. I slept so well. Benefits staying here: Central location in downtown Portland Clean hotel Quiet and hip Restaurant at hotel a popular meeting spot for hipsters and dining foodies Amenities like the gym is a plus Excellent service Price point competitive Great for travelers or couples wanting a modern atmosphere with a cool vibe

Terrence M.

Yelp
Hotel: King Size Bed Pros: was able to check in early!!! The host were really cool. I enjoyed the vibe of the room and the black and white color with the pop of red! The bed was super comfy and it was clean. Enjoyed the smooth jazz that was playing on the tv when I entered my room. Cons: bed was super wrinkled (rush job). I duno why the shower knob is opposite of the shower head lmaooo. Not deal breakers but random. Parking is $45 bucks a night. Helllll no.

Katrina A.

Yelp
DONT TAKE THE STAIRS. YOU WILL BE TRAPPED. Hotel Vance/Marriott DOES NOT COMMUNICATE THROUGH SIGNAGE OR TELL ANYONE that GUESTS CANNOT TAKE THE STAIRS TO THEIR ROOMS. I was stuck in the concrete staircase for TEN MINUTES TRYING TO GET OUT because there is no communication stating that guests cannot access their rooms through the stairs. I try to take the stairs as a healthier option and this is the first time I've been TRAPPED with NO CELL SIGNAL. There was NO STAFF through ALL 8 FLOORS that could help me. I had a massive panic attack. I would appreciate if Hotel Vance/Marriott put up signs to PREVENT other GUESTS FROM having a similar, TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE. Hotel itself is fine, it's very clean which I appreciate. Parking is a rip off even for guests ($40/night for guests, $45 public price). EDIT: I would like to note that the General Manager responded to my review and expressed his apologies for the experience and mentioned he will bring it up, not confirmed if this was implemented.

Coral V.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel is. The fact that it's connected to a restaurant and and Starbucks is really cool. The convenience and quality make the stay here quite enjoyable.

Nisi N.

Yelp
This place was great!!! We went to another Marriott look at my review and it was terrible This was so good 1. Clean clean clean 2. Great location 3. Nice nice staff 4. Look at pictures so fun and roomy 5. Workout room and game room wish it had a pool but can't have everything and somewhat clean is the most important 6. They let me check in at 8 am to get away from the other dirty Marriott I'll add more pics soon Also parking is $45 and that ok to be able to come and go abs that's how much the other place was

Christopher S.

Yelp
We stayed for a few nights to visit my brother and go sightseeing in Portland. I booked this hotel through Delta Stays when they were offering the MQD promotion, and this was the right choice. This hotel is modern and clean, with nice views of the city. The rooms are nice and cozy. I highly recommend this hotel.

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
Hotel Vance in the cultural district of downtown Portland is situated by the Portland Art Museum, Performing Arts Center and Portland State University. A Tribute Portfolio hotel by Marriott Bonvoy, it's an edgy property filled with local artwork, ideal for the business or leisure traveler. Multiple restaurants, coffee shops and bottle shops are within walking distance. The waterfront is about a ten minute walk, and the popular pioneer square with high end shopping about 5 minutes. On site is a Korean-Filipino restaurant and bar, @beastropdx which offers dining from 7a-10p daily, and room service during the restaurant's hours of operation. The staff is awesome (one of the bartenders, Parker, even played food all with my daughter while the drag bingo was happening) the food and cocktail program impressive with Korean and Filipino fare. A must try is the Korean brunch on the weekend. Featured: Pandan Mochi Waffles Pandan Mochi Waffles with Fried Basil Popcorn Chicken and Maple Syrup. Island Old Fashioned Pendelton Whiskey, Pandan Infused Demerara, Plum, Aromatic Bitters. The Pros: *lively artistic property *Spacious, high ceiling rooms with laminate flooring and exposed concrete walls *black out blinds *low noise *down pillows and comforters *walk in shower *in room refrigerator, safe and coffee maker *spacious work spaces *drag queen bingo monthly The Cons: *no dressers, only wardrobes *limited counter and storage space for toiletries in bathrooms *no pool *no 24 hour room service *no in room mini bar *self parking is $45 a day *no bell desk

James Y.

Yelp
The rooms here are very modern looking and comfortable. The room rooms are small but cozy. The bathroom was pretty big with very colorful tile. All in all a nice place to stay.

Mindy C.

Yelp
This is the worst hotel where I have ever stayed. As soon as we walked in, I noticed that the bed linens were dirty. When we told the front desk, they didn't even apologize or sound concerned when they said they would send house keeping to remake the bed with fresh sheets. Then we discovered hair all over the bathroom and partly-used toiletries left by the previous occupant. The fun thing about staying in a hotel is the free toiletries, but I have never booked a room that stocked used toiletries which is unhygienic and gross. Each time we asked the front desk for help, they were slow, apathetic, and unfriendly. When we tried to check out the next morning, the front desk was also incredibly slow and apathetic to the point of seeming downright rude and uncaring. I would not stay here again. Worst hotel ever with dirty rooms and terrible service!

Amy S.

Yelp
We took a gamble booking a hotel on hotwire near downtown Portland this weekend for a one-night stay that we had not planned in advance. We had to make flight reservations for same-day travel and initially had planned to return home the same day we arrived, but we decided to meet with friends and get a couple of rooms for the night before catching a red-eye the next morning. We were so lucky to be booked at this hotel! I was disappointed that there is no pool or hot tub, but they do have a 24 hour gym and also arcade games, foosball, shuffleboard table, and a cute little restaurant/bar near the lobby. The interior is very modern and the rooms were just as chic! Also, super clean rooms and very, very comfy beds. Wish we could have slept in a little longer, rather than checking out at 5 a.m., but we enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend it. Parking however was like $45! Given the room was only about twice that much, we felt a little scammed putting our two vehicles in their garage, but I guess it's better than waking up without your cat converters when you're trying to fly home in time for work!

Nathan A.

Yelp
Oh my gosh this place is so cool! They've got red glass and a super modern trendy look, I don't think I've ever really stayed in a hotel quite like it before. Staff is super friendly and welcoming, the only downside I would say is the hipster-industrial theme kinda makes the room super echo'y and you can hear everything happening in the rooms and hallway around you. Had a fun time listening to some important business meeting happening in hallway last night though! haha

Yeshiharig K.

Yelp
I was so excited when I saw the reviews how clean this place was but little did I know, when I uncovered the sheets, there was brown spotting or what look like someone already slept on it or spilled something on the sheets/covers that's very disappointing because I had high expectations due to the reviews . Unfortunately the front desk employees was/is a disaster as well she seemed extremely upset to see me very unprofessional. Let alone ti greet me ! .The Cleaning staff didn't bother to clean my coffee machine or surrounding areas. I wish could write a positive review unfortunately that's not the case

Gabby C.

Yelp
This hotel is so nice! I only stayed one night (Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon) but our stay here was amazing. The room was clean, and was stocked with plenty of amenities. The fitness center had a lot of equipment and was open 24/7. The little arcade/gaming area was super cute and fun to spend a little time in. I had also called the day of to inquire about a late check out for the following day and they were totally able to accommodate it for us! Would highly recommend staying here if you're in downtown Portland. The only thing I want to note is that I didn't realize their isn't any parking on site. They have a parking garage but it's $45 for overnight parking. Thankfully when we arrived there was plenty of street parking and we didn't have to pay for it because of when we arrived. Coincidently, I could also see our car from our hotel room! So that was a nice bonus! I got a sandwich from the restaurant in the lobby after checking out (a deluxe sandwich) and it was seriously bomb! When I'm in Portland again I will definitely be staying here.

Joshua N.

Yelp
I was looking to book a room for a night near McMenamins Crystal Ballroom, and hotels.com had a phenomenal prepaid deal. Parking is hourly or nightly and is priced fairly reasonably. The parking garage appeared to be very secure and was easily accessible. There were elevators near many of the parking spots. I called the night before checking in to see if an early arrival was possible as my plans changed. Nothing was promised, but they assured me they'd do their best to accommodate me. I was able to have them add my reservation to my Marriott profile, so I was able to do the early check-in online, which was a breeze. Check-in was quick and painless. The check-in representative was friendly, knowledgeable, and polite. I was issued a room on the seventh floor. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I was very happy with my stay and I'll definitely consider them for future stays next time I'm in the area.

Lauren D.

Yelp
Quick-n-easy check-in, luggage carts available, super clean room, black-out curtains, huge flatscreen television, cozy bedding, and incredibly friendly staff (especially Gina with the cleaning crew and the AV tech who repaired our TV on night 3). Perks: Gated underground parking, daily $10 gift card to Starbucks (which is in the building), reliable WiFi, Chromecast capability on the television, 2nd floor lounge with games, 1st floor diner & bar, and umbrellas are available to borrow. Cons: low quality toilet paper & towels and cramped fridge access.

Keen C.

Yelp
Nice hotel with creaky window walls. We'll located in the Cultural District (Portland Art Museum, theaters, etc.) and nearby streetcar and Max light rail. Nice staff and pleasant rooms, although already dated "trying to be hip 2000's" design. Typical hotel expensive ($45 per night) parking, but felt quite safe. Two free level 2 electric car chargers located on level one of the garage. Be prepared for creaks and pops coming from the exterior window walls as the sun hits the facade. Could be unsettling for some. Only reason for not giving five stars. I'd stay again.

Sean H.

Yelp
Excellent modern hotel near Portland State University. Plenty of food options that are walkable, hotel is clean, and staff is always friendly. Check-in is always quick, and the restaurant is efficient, tasty, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend Hotel Vance.

Julie D.

Yelp
Everything worked in the hotel room. Room was definitely able to get nice and warm. A little too warm at times but I simply adjusted the temperature. Mason was fantastic as well! Hilarious, personal, and great recommendations! Mason definitely made the experience of this hotel 10x better.

Melissa W.

Yelp
Stayed here the week between Christmas and New Years Eve. Front desk staff was very friendly and the rooms were quiet large. Biggest plus is the free parking in the building's parking garage with the hotel room, which is clutch in downtown Portland. We had a great stay and the hotel was local to all the sites and restaurants we wanted to check out. They were also really great about giving us a little bit extra time to check out. The only thing I would change is the decor which seems a bit strange, but not terrible!

Mel E.

Yelp
The hotel is centrally located and surrounded by tons of places in walking distance. There are homeless people surrounding the hotel, with the exception of directly in front of the hotel. Erin and Megan (pronounced Meegan) are the reasons why this hotel should be rated a 5 because they're incredible! They made great suggestions for my experience to be a wow! The only reason why I didn't rate it a 5 is because of house keeping; failure to clean, which makes no sense, especially at a time like this. With that being said, any situation I ran into, Erin and Megan were reassuring and made things better.

Chad B.

Yelp
Everything I wrote before is true, I just want to address the poor reviews nearly entirely are from non picture/anonymous type profiles.. seems a little sus.

Karlyn W.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this art deco hotel in the heart of downtown Portland in close proximity to major attractions and not far from the PDX airport. My favorite part of the hotel was my room. The hip stereo mural with red accents in the bathroom, closet, and bedroom kept me energized on those cold winter days. One drawback is there is no onsite business center although the front desk will print documents if they are emailed to them.

John W.

Yelp
Incredibly rude front desk. My stay included parking but he wouldn't honor it and basically called me a liar. Once I showed him my confirm again they honoured it yet no apology. Terrible attitude needs to learn about customer service and how to speak to people. Staff need some customer service training. Was a bald man with a goatee. When I first checked in the lady that assisted us was very helpful and nice... they just employ a bad apple. Weird rooms, don't have a full length mirror. Rooms were clean and are in a safe area.

Lexie S.

Yelp
It was a Friday afternoon that we arrived on scene. We, meaning my dearest, longtime friend and beloved sister and the scene meaning Hotel Vance in SW Portland. We got checked in quickly and went up to our room - the decor was bright, modern and a bit mesmerizing. Our room was fun and new and felt like a major upgrade from any hotel I stayed at in awhile! Oh! And the bed. One of the MOST comfortable beds I have had the pleasure of spending a night in! The icing on this Decadent Cake was Matt at the front desk, who took photos of us gals before our big night out on the town. This hotel is a yes for me, dawg.

Casey S.

Yelp
Very clean rooms that are easy and fairly spacious, great location, friendly staff, decent food. Would be nice to have either a pool, hot tub or a bath tub of some sort instead of showers only. Definitely not a true 4-star hotel given the lack of amenities and cheap design elements but certainly nice. The reason they don't get a 5-star rating from me is because parking is stupid expensive. Cost me $90 to stay 2 nights which is almost the price of the room. It should be comped if not at least significantly cheaper. Probably won't stay here again because of that and the fact it isn't mentioned anywhere during booking. A big decision to pick this place was for its affordability but tacking on a $45 per night for parking defeats that purpose completely. Not happy about that!

Kari C.

Yelp
The desk and bar personnel were very friendly and helpful. However, the description of the hotel being sleek is apparently code for not enough places to put luggage, clothing or bathroom supplies; in addition to a cold feeling to the entire hotel (not to be confused with a lack of heat, the heater worked well in our room- which was good since the blankets weren't warm). The open shower had a shower head that sprayed awkwardly leaving massive amounts of water on the floor even after a short shower. The first 2 days housekeeping cleaned our room nicely. The 3rd day we got to a late start, we made a special request for housekeeping. Upon returning much later it had not been done, we contacted the front desk, left for a bit to find it still not tended to. We had wet towels on the floor mostly from cleaning up the shower mess, not enough dry towels. It took another call to get towels and get the wet towels removed. I wanted to like the hotel but was sadly disappointed.

Jayna S.

Yelp
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean and cool feeling atmosphere. Bed was so comfortable it was hard to wake up. Price-wise not bad as well. Hotel has own parking garage with ample spots. Hotel lobby has an open space feel and has a Starbucks on the left, and game room upstairs. The most surprising perk of the hotel was that they had the beastro restaurant/mini bar with high rated cuisine ---not just a bagel.

Elda P.

Yelp
If i can give 10 stars i could. Overall check in staff very friendly and very nice , location are good . Close to pioner mall and room are nice and clean and good reasonable price

Gregory D.

Yelp
Apr 2023 for four nights and generally enjoyed my stay. Room was immaculate, lobby staff pleasant, onsite bar and restaurant tasty and fairly priced. When I got home, I realized I'd left a small toiletries bag in my room; it contained some medicine and self-phone attachment I hoped to retrieve. Two staff members, during separate calls, told me Housekeeping would send me a link via which I could claim the item, make arrangements for delivery reimbursement, and so on. Both were extremely friendly and seemed knowledgeable. However, I never rec'd such a link from Housekeeping, or anyone else. Maybe this is standard hotel behavior and I drifted out of my lane. Later, I assumed staffers had been following a script prepared for such calls. The thing is, now I won't stay there again. Plenty of homeless in and around the hotel, including the corner Starbucks, part of the same building.

Yelp
From the moment I walked in, I fell in love with this charming hotel. The front desk registration was delightful-they are friendly, quick, and knowledgable. Even offered umbrellas! The room was sizeable, trendy, modern, and beds were comfortable. Cute bathroom. Also, the BEASTRO, an Asian Fusion restaurant was EXCELLLENT! From the servers Jake and Kito, to the food (Spam Masubi and sizable salad and fruit dishes)- it was great! Not to mention Starbucks is right next door, of course, for my Starbucks lovers. While it was a short stay in Portland, this hotel was perfect for my brother and I who did a quick self-care trip before our mama went into surgery for breast cancer (cancer free:)). It totally exceeded my expectations, as on Expedia, I think it was rated as a 3 Star. Thank you and I will be recommending to colleagues, family, and friends.

Yelp
Booked room for Say Oct 15, 2020, arrived at 3:30pm Ams wqa told room would be ready "soon.". After waiting 30 mins, we were given a complimentary upgrade, and the room itself was delightful. It was a weekend wi the a special old pal visiting from out of state; the hotels restaurant had a great breakfast and ended out an overall good experience.

Yelp
Please do not book here. We came back and our bedroom is not serviced. There is no toilet paper and we called the front desk and they said I am the only person here and he has 3 other requests before ours. Only 1 person is running 8 floors. Please people do not come here. Also the showers is engineered to leak water outside.

Yelp
I thought the staff was nice enough but they never turned over our room. The real reason for the 3 stars is that the parking ticket kiosk continuously shocked me so horribly I honestly thought my heart might stop. Please fix that thing for the love of God.

Yelp
This hotel will be a slum within a few years. The RED grout in the bathroom is bleeding onto the tiles (not to mention how ugly it is), there was NO maid service AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, they TRIPLE charged my credit card. THAT"S RIGHT- they charged me for three extra nights. When I checkout, they said they would correct their error and credit my account, but they didn't! Besides double charging me for one room on August 13, the illegally charged me for two rooms on August 14 when I wasn't even there.

Yelp
Comfy beds and pillows with good security. Shower was grimy - so gross. Hotel says they have special cleaning due to Covid, but the shower showed otherwise.

Yelp
I definitely wish that I had read reviews prior to booking. This was by far the worst hotel by Marriott that I have EVER stayed at. I would say a half step above a hostel just because you aren't sharing a bathroom with the entire floor. Customer service? Garbage. Checking in experience? Garbage. The room itself? Garbage. The beds are rock hard leaving both my husband and I with an aching back. No extra amenities. No pool or hot tub or gym. Parking you would think would be discounted or free. Nope. $45 a night. Which is basically half the cost of the room. Super minimalistic which I guess some people could enjoy but not us. All and all, definitely won't be staying here in the future and I suggest you don't either.

Yelp
We will definitely be staying here the next time we're in town! Everything about our stay was great, from getting to check in a few hours early (obviously this won't happen to everyone) to the chic, industrial room to the lovely drinks at the bar. Most of the negative reviews seem to be because there are no dressers in the room and the shower has a half-door, leaving it half open to the bathroom. These were not issues for us at all, so don't let them deter you from staying here! The shower was really not an issue; it's not hard to not be messy, haha. Overall, this was an especially great location in terms of transit & getting picked up by rideshare, and it felt newer and more comfortable than a lot of Marriotts out there. The staff was so nice and this is just such a fun hotel to stay at for not too bad a price!
