Seven Paris Hotels With Serious History

"Sister hotel to the Left Bank’s Bel Ami, the Hôtel Vernet is blessed with a singular location: more or less right at the business end of the Golden Triangle, yards from the Arc de Triomphe itself, in a century-old, post-Haussmann building by Albert Joseph Sélonier – with a glass dome designed by Gustave Eiffel himself." - The MICHELIN Guide

Hôtel Vernet

"This 50-room hotel offers the best of both worlds: It’s close enough to major attractions like the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe that you can easily check them off your list, but sleek and set back enough that it doesn’t feel like a tourist trap. The early 20th-century post-Haussmann building ably balances the charm of old Paris—see the Gustave Eiffel-designed glass dome in the restaurant, for example—while seamlessly working in the new, with rounded, sculptural furniture (there’s an E emerald green couch worth coveting) that gives just a hit of modernity. Book a table at the restaurant, V, where you can take it all in."

Hôtel Vernet Champs Elysées Paris, a Design Boutique Hotel Paris, France

"Hotel Vernet is a newly renovated hotel situated in the Golden Triangle –arguably Paris’ most fashionable and popular area. With the breezy, tree-lined Champs Elysees and all its high end designer shops close by, as well as some of the most revered historic, architectural and cultural attractions within walking distance guests will be delighted at just how much there is to see and do. In a Haussmann style, typically Parisian building, the Hotel Vernet exudes history and majesty. Having undergone a complete refurbishment in 2014, this hotel combines elements of old and new to give the hotel contemporary feel without losing its sense of majesty. In the rooms guests can expect all mod cons such as free WiFi access an iPad, Movies and PlayStation on demand, air conditioning, a private safe, and 24 hour room service. Rooms are spacious and have a light and airy feel while contemporary bathrooms with superior fittings and super soft towels give an added element of luxury. The hotel Vernet restaurant is a stunning room with a tantalising menu that is sure to delight guests. You can watch your food being prepared and cooked, or simply sit back and admire the carefully selected artworks by local Parisian artists. The bar is also a great place to relax after a long day seeing the sights of the city, a sparkling and splendid room with a majestic ceiling depicting a mural of Jean-Michel Alberola only adds to the sense of sophisticated elegance making it popular with tourists and locals alike." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

I have to edit my stay because previous 5 stars rating was only to support against the negative reviews campaign. I just checked out yesterday and I have to say that we are in love with this hotel. Staff at all department are amazing, attentive and promptly responsive. Rooms (prestige and standard) were very neat and comfy. The location was few steps aways from Champs Elyse. This is absolutely my new favorite hotel in Paris from now and on. Tip for Arabs: they have Shattaf 😁

I recently stayed at Hotel Vernet for 4 nights for a mother/daughter trip. My husband joined us for half of the time. Hotel Vernet has to its credit a great location in that it is very near the Champs Élysée and a metro station that can take you all over the city. The staff is very friendly and the hotel’s design is fresh and contemporary. Not surprising in a boutique hotel in Paris is the small elevator. It is what it is and there is a beautiful staircase that we took some of the time. My only complaint was in the design of our room. We took an executive suite to accommodate 3 people. It had doors that closed off the sitting room from the bedroom where my daughter slept on the sofa bed. The problem was that while the beautiful bathroom with double sinks, bath and shower were right off of the bedroom, the toilet was located through the living room. This was super inconvenient every time we needed to use the toilet but especially annoying when we had to go through the living room in the middle of the night past my sleeping daughter to get to the toilet. If this would bother you, please choose another category of room. Other than that, it was a good hotel. Nothing truly exceptional but good nonetheless.

Whilst the area isn’t my favorite area in Paris, this hotel makes up for it. The staff is wonderful, rooms are beautiful and it’s a fantastic value for a 5 star. Alexander, Stéphanie and Julian are super friendly and will make your stay enjoyable

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Hotel Vernet in Paris for my birthday, and I can’t express enough how beautifully the team made my special day. From the moment I arrived, every single staff member showed such kindness, warmth, and care — their attentiveness and positive attitude truly made me feel at home. The hotel had been recommended to me by one of my siblings, and I’m incredibly glad I chose to follow their advice. Not only was my stay perfect, but the staff went above and beyond in the most thoughtful way. They surprised me with a lovely birthday arrangement in my room and even brought me a delicious birthday cake the following day. It was such a sweet and unforgettable gesture that deeply touched me. Hotel Vernet didn’t just meet my expectations — it made my birthday in Paris feel magical. I wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone visiting the city. I will absolutely return to Hotel Vernet the next time I’m in Paris. Thank you once again to the entire team for making my celebration so memorable. You truly made me feel special.

We loved this hotel so much. It was our home away from home. It was our first family trip to Paris and we had a wonderful stay here. We’ve been to other five-star hotels such as Shangri-La and Ritz Carlton which we also loved but this hotel is the only hotel that made us sad when we left. Amazing staff! They were very kind, hospitable, attentive, polite, and helpful whether you need help with your luggage or to catch a ride. Customer service was top notch. It is a five-star boutique hotel and we were treated like a family. Even my son did appreciate their customer service that he even wrote a thank you letter to them. That was a touching letter how I wish I took a picture. Our room was very cute and spacious. The room was exceptionally clean including the bathroom. The bed was so comfortable. The hotel is beautifully located just steps from the Champs-Elysees and Arc De Triomphe and not too far from the Eiffel tower. We ordered room service several times and the food was delicious. They made our stay a very memorable one. We will definitely choose this hotel in a heartbeat when we come back to Paris. Thank you, Hotel Vernet, for your impeccable customer service. Like what my son wrote on his letter, we wish you guys nothing but the best. Our stay at Hotel Vernet is one of the reasons why we will come back to Paris. Highly recommend to everyone.

I’m writing about the my experience in their restaurant, We celebrated my husband’s birthday here and had a wonderful time. I made the reservation through TheFork app. Although we arrived late due to traffic, the staff welcomed us with kindness and professionalism. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. I’d definitely go back to enjoy the same great experience again!

This was my first trip to Paris to see family. I found Hotel Vernet online after looking at many hotels/reviews. I could tell the positive reviews outweighed any negative remarks & decided we should try it ourselves. We used our credit card travel to book & they were instantly communicating to anticipate our needs. We flew in from America very early & they kindly accommodated an early check-in. Alexander was the gentleman who greeted us & checked us in. He was very professional throughout our stay. All concierge interactions were lovely - they arranged transportation, gave advice on how to get to the sights, printed some important documents I needed & assisted with dinner reservations. During our stay the blow dryer & phone had technical issues, the Vernet team promptly addressed both issues. Cold water & small cakes were in the room upon arrival, the Nespresso was delicious & restocked regularly, & water was always provided. We enjoyed the M&M's as well. The room itself was very modern & aesthetically pleasing. The lobby lounge & common areas all modern & uniquely decorated as well. You can see the old charm combined with new touches have been well thought out. The small balcony opens & was nice to look out/enjoy espresso with the doors open. Excellent shower pressure/temp, robes & slippers provided. The area felt very safe & food deliveries we had were monitored by the staff & brought to our room. The hotel is steps away from the shopping area of Champs-Elysees & the Arc de Triomphe! We did not know before but the Tour de France happened to be going on & the police were abudant in blocking things off yet kind to provide directions. We even got to the see French jets fly over with the flag colors in smoke! What a unique stay & experience. Highly recommend Hotel Vernet & would stay again if in Paris!

Google
I want to share a serious warning for anyone considering this hotel. Recently, a guest had expensive jewelry stolen from their room in broad daylight — this happened in a 5‑star Paris hotel with full staff and supposed security measures. Shockingly, the hotel staff did nothing in response: no investigation, zero follow-up. In a top-tier hotel like this (in Paris, no less), there should be constant surveillance and immediate action — checking CCTV, contacting the guest, notifying the police. Instead, the reaction was a deafening silence. If you’re planning to stay here, think twice before bringing valuables. The staff’s lack of accountability is unacceptable. The hotel must step up their security protocols and start treating guests and their belongings with the seriousness they deserve.

Yelp
I stayed here with my family for a few days over the summer and we had a really nice experience. We booked through AmEx and were upgraded to a spacious suite, which was a pleasant surprise. They even had a small puppy toy and kids' slippers ready for our daughter, which she loved. Room service was very good and reasonably priced for Paris. The breakfast room downstairs is also lovely, with a beautiful ceiling that makes it feel special. The location is excellent--just a short walk to Louis Vuitton and not far from the Hermès flagship. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Yelp
A++++ Experience We took a trip to Paris for my 30th birthday (myself, my spouse, and our two toddlers), and Hotel Vernet exceeded our expectations in every regard. The kindness of the staff, the responsiveness of the concierge services, the hospitality and the rooms...we absolutely loved our stay here. A+ location as well! It was also our first trip with kids to Paris, and the staff went above and beyond to put the most delightful, thoughtful touches in our adjoining rooms. They thought of everything, and the welcome notes + gifts (even for my little ones) were absolutely priceless. Highly recommend that you book here for your Parisian stay! Thank you, Hotel Vernet! We will be back :)

Yelp
What a wonderful place to stay! My partner and I absolutely loved staying at this traditional yet stylish Parisian hotel. The service is truly unmatched and worth every penny. The food and the amenities were amazing. A month prior to arriving, the concierge worked to book chauffeur service from Gare du Nord to the hotel for my partner and I. They were patient with all of my questions, as I had many about the service. Upon checking in, where we got an upgrade thanks to American Express, reception was very happy to give my partner and I a tour of the hotel room. Also, dinner in Le V was an experience worth taking. Complements to Chef Baldassare for making a delicious dinner! Lastly, my partner had lost his hotel room key while we were in the overly-crowded Musée du Louvre, and the staff were glad to deactivate the old cards and give us new ones. "It only costs a 'Thank you'", said Nicholas from reception (it was free). Nicholas (who saw to us upon arrival) and Kevin from reception were so kind. Also, Kayes and Julien were great concierges. Lastly, our room service team were extremely accommodating and attentive and wonderful to be around. I'll add that the staff were happy to speak English at first, but were nevertheless accommodating to me practicing my French when speaking to them. I wish I could've stayed in this hotel longer. I cannot wait to stay here again the next time I'm in Paris. À bientôt, Hôtel Vernet!

Yelp
Our stay at Hotel Vernet was incredible! The staff were extremely pleasant and catered to our every need. I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent hotel - don't be scared off by the closeness to the Champs-Élysées, the crowds do not trickle over. And if you walk out and go left instead of right it's just regular Paris. Sure, a but removed from the city centre but local and normal Paris. Gorgeous historic hotel and the dining room skylight is stunning. The staff are wonderful, and welcomed us with a bottle of Champagne. We'd absolutely stay here and at their other properties again!

Yelp
Magnifique, Incroyable, 5 plus Etoiles! This is an incredible five-star hotel, steps from the Arc de Triumphe! The staff were extremely friendly and spoke perfect English. The concierge made reservations at fantastic local eateries. We were generously upgraded to a massive suite by the manager upon arrival. We were also given a bottle of champagne compliments of the management. The suite had a very large salon, a massive king bedroom and fully equipped, huge bathroom. We stayed two evenings as part of a package that the hotel had donated to a charity auction, Outfest Los Angeles. Breakfast buffet was included and it was incredible. The fresh warm breads, croissants and rolls are all baked on site. The juices are freshly squeezed. The cheese and breakfast meats were fresh and plentiful. I highly recommend this remarkable and historic hotel.

Yelp
This place is Le fantastique and magnifique! What a great hotel and I will definitely go back next time around thank you! I would like to personally thank Mr. Erwan SARRE (Directeur Général) , Lionel, Michel, and Isabel, I hope I spelled her name correctly. To the rest of the staff thank you as well, you are the best!!!

Yelp
Awesome hotel, location, and elevator. Rooms were fancy, but not too fancy. Staff was very friendly and everyone went out of their way to ensure our stay was great. Chef and wait staff even crossed cultures to give kids fist bumps and helped them enjoy the exotic Parisian cuisine

Yelp
Our travel agent booked this hotel for our Paris portion of our honeymoon assuring us we would be very happy. We absolutely were. The location was phenomenal. Being steps away from the Arc de Triomphe and almost directly on the Champs-Elysées made walking to everywhere we wanted to go pretty easy. We were surrounded by restaurants and shops and walked across the street when we ran out of wine. The front desk let us check in to our room at 10:00am instead of 3:00pm after our overnight flight from Boston and they made us feel extremely welcome throughout our stay helping us out with recommendations, reservations, and just whatever we needed. The restaurant was gorgeous but we only ate breakfast there. The food was very French and fantastic and if we didn't make it downstairs in time, we just called and they sent up a grand assortment of breakfast to our room. This hotel is very highly recommended and when we go back to Paris, we know exactly where we're staying.

Yelp
Great location, good size rooms, but the service was ok. This is definitely not a 5-star hotel, if you are looking for a 5-star hotel experience then this is not for you. If you are looking for a decent hotel with a great location then this is a good choice. Hotel is a few minutes from Champs-Elysees/Arch. Train stations are close by, and plenty of restaurants close by also. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel then there are better options out there.

Yelp
I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The building and facilities are incredible, and the website photos don't do it justice. But what really makes the Hotel Vernet special is the staff. Remy, the bartender, and Lionel, the concierge are both incredible...as is the rest of the staff! The location couldn't be better. I only hope I can return someday! Merci!
