Absolutely loved my stay at the Villa Honegg. Tucked away in a quiet spot in the mountains, this hotel is the most idyllic backdrop for a peaceful getaway. The pool is the star of the show - and for good reason! The heated water at 34 degrees and views made for a once in a lifetime experience. The rooms were beautiful with lovely luxury touches, although more on the smaller side. Overall, we had the best time here and can’t wait to go back in the near future.

This review is in comparison to other 5 star hotels. Wife thought it was a nice experience. We had the alpine view with balcony. The reason why it’s not a 5 is because restaurant waiter was rude, there isn’t much staff in the evening so service is slow, and not sure why there is a dress code for the restaurant. On a brighter note, really enjoyed using their cinema room and the heated outdoor pool. Will be trying a different hotel next time I’m around this area.

We wanted to spend a quiet weekend there and it was just that- very relaxing and quiet. The service was a bit slow, but since we were in no rush, it was totally okay. The views are amazing and the pool as well- we would come again.

Our stay at Villa Honegg was nothing short of magical but perfect! A place where luxury, tranquility, and nature come together in flawless harmony. Perched high above Lake Lucerne, this unique house offers a breathtaking setting that is truly one of a kind. One of the most memorable moments of our stay was the incredible breakfast in bed - a dreamlike start of the day. Waking up to a beautifully arranged tray of fresh pastries, seasonal fruits, and perfectly brewed coffee while enjoying the warm sunlight and breathtaking panorama from our room & balcony was pure bliss. It’s that kind of luxury that makes you never want to leave. Especially when the weather is fantastic and there is a golden sunrise. Villa Honegg is a place like no other — it’s an escape into a world of beauty, peace, and indulgence. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a wellness retreat, or simply a place to relax and recharge, this hidden gem in the Swiss Alps is the perfect destination. We will cherish the memories of our stay and can’t wait to return!

We stayed at Hotel Villa Honegg from June 17th - June 19th, 2025. We had a wonderful experience! This hotel is stunning, comfortable, and well run. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of! I emailed the hotel before our visit asking questions and their reply was very helpful and prompt. We arrived from the train and bus and called for our pick-up and they sent someone to get us immediately. Our room was beautiful and very clean, the spa/pool was heaven, and the food was delicious. We went out for a hike to Mt. Titlis the one morning and since we'd be missing breakfast, the staff gave us a little boxed lunch to take (it was delicious - best croissants I've ever had!). We had drinks on the terrace and breakfast on the terrace. I read some reviews that the service is slow. In Switzerland in general the service is slower. It's vacation... slow down a little and it's perfect! The breakfast was amazing, with many options! We spent a good amount of time in the infinity pool. It was not crowded at all! We had to save up to be able to stay at this gorgeous hotel, and I can tell you it was worth it! I am so happy that we were able to spend time at this elegant and yet comfortable resort hotel. We were so blessed with an amazing experience and perfect weather. I will cherish the memories for as long as I live! Thank you to the staff for making everything extra special!

One of the best experiences I’ve had in Switzerland and Europe. Everything was made with so much love, care, and creativity. You can really feel the passion in every single detail!

A beautiful location overshadowed by pretentious service, inattentive staff, and a consistently unwelcoming experience that fails to justify the high price. Despite the stunning location, our experience at Hotel Villa Honegg was disappointing and far from what one expects of a luxury hotel. The service was consistently poor, disorganized, and insincere. We were repeatedly told we couldn’t sit or eat in various areas—“this place is for special guests,” “this area is for a private event,” or “this is not available right now”—even when the spaces were mostly empty. This happened at breakfast, lunch, and even during simple seating requests. It gave the impression that the hotel is trying hard to appear exclusive, but instead comes off as pretentious and unwelcoming. Staff were inattentive and slow. It took 10–15 minutes just to get seated or have someone take an order, even when there were only a few other guests around. More frustratingly, staff members approached us speaking only in German without checking if we understood. Even after we said we don’t speak German, they continued to speak in German—despite the fact that most guests were clearly international. We were told that breakfast was available until 2:00 PM both indoors and on the terrace. However, when we went to the terrace at 11:00 AM, we were told it was being prepared for lunch and that we couldn’t sit there. When we pointed out that breakfast on the terrace was supposed to be available until 2:00 PM, we were allowed to stay—though with visible reluctance and an attitude as if they were doing us a favor. The same issue happened again on our check-out day—after waiting over 15 minutes on the terrace with no service, someone finally came and told us it was closed. When we pointed out that others were eating there, we were told they were “special guests for a private event” and that “it was supposed to rain so we closed it. It is taking too much time to prepare here.” Breakfast quality was underwhelming, and the general lack of attention to detail and basic customer courtesy was noticeable throughout. Overall, the hotel seems to prioritize appearance over genuine hospitality. For the price charged, the experience was not worth it. We would not return.

Yelp
Spent the Christmas holiday here with my husband in one of their superior rooms with a very generous terrace and view of miraculous mountains and placid Lake Lucerne. Nothing short of an absolute dream. The staff was very helpful, accommodating and pleasant. We enjoyed the lovely breakfast of locally sourced foods, perfect private theatre, intimate spa and of course the truly astonishing infinity pool heated to a wonderfully balmy temperature with utterly breathtaking views. With only 23 rooms, the hotel is an exclusive retreat for the discerning traveler. Totally unforgettable experience that I highly recommend. My only regret is that we did not stay longer, a mistake I won't make on my next visit :)

Yelp
Where to start?! We loved every moment of our experience at Hotel Villa Honegg and 10/10 would recommend to anyone who asks. We hope to visit again someday! From the moment of booking, the team at Honegg was already very accommodating. We reached out for various questions in the weeks leading up to our stay and they promptly responded each time. Before even arriving, they booked us for massages at the spa and dinner reservations for the first night, as well as helped us coordinate our transportation and arranged for a driver to pick us up at the bus stop. When we arrived, they took care of our luggage and gave us a tour of the house so we knew where to find everything during our stay. After the tour, we were taken to our room, where we were met with a stocked mini bar and snacks, and a great meat and cheese tray our travel agent coordinated for us. The hotel also had a hand-written note to welcome us! After settling in, we went to the spa to relax before our massages and immediately fell in love with the gorgeous views from the infinity pool. There are definitely moments the pool gets crowded with people taking photos or videos (can't blame them- we did too! It's too gorgeous not to). But we had many times when we had the entire pool to ourselves to really enjoy it. We both had wonderful massages in their spa! Onto the food- dinner was incredible. They brought us a note of congratulations for our recent marriage- signed by the staff at the restaurant. We were given an amuse-Bouche to start. I had the 6-course Honegg Gourmet menu with corresponding wines. Everything was good, but the cream of corn soup was absolutely delicious! I wish I had the recipe. My husband enjoyed every bit of his meal, too. And please do NOT miss the Honegg cream slice! Maybe it was the wine, but I teared up eating this because it was SO good. We even ordered a slice for a late night bite the next evening. Breakfast was also fantastic! They always started with a nice meat, cheese, and fruit tray. Then you could order what you wanted from their breakfast menu- all included in the room rate. I loved the Egg Honegg! We also chose to get their picnic basket and hiked over to the Hammetschwand Lift to enjoy the lunch they packed for us. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful this mountain oasis is. Service was impeccable from start to finish and we look forward to making another trip someday!

Yelp
The view is spectacular and the people are very special. Hotel needs a face lift. Rooms have a musty smell and are very dusty. Lots of people from the outside visit so it doesn't feel exclusive. Main dining room is dated, chairs are worn out, drapes are not very nice and lighting is way off. Again people are amazing here. The hotel needs work.

Yelp
This place is heaven on earth. A beautiful hotel that sits on top of a mountain with a view of lake Geneva and Lucerne. The hotel staff are pleasant and they have expedient service. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Hotel Honegg is hands down the best hotel near Lucerne, Switzerland. The views of Lake Lucerne are beyond spectacular! You also wont be able to beat the customer service. The servers at the restaurant are friendly and attentive and the hotel concierge was incredibly helpful.

Yelp
This hotel is a fairy tale. 5 star for A reason. The pool, the views, the room, the service: everything is tailored for your needs and amazement. This place is very classy, cosy and quiet. We thoroughly enjoy our nights there and we can only look forward to coming back in the future.

Yelp
I write this review to ensure that ENGLISH SPEAKING travelers can be aware of the level of service they provide. Frankly, very disappointed. This is the most disappointed of any 5 star hotel I've visited. In fact, I'm so disappointed that I'm writing a review in YELP AND TRIPADVISOR so you can think thrice before spending money here. I basically centered my Switzerland trip around Villa Honegg ("VH"), a beautiful resort in the Swiss Mountains and often featured in Travel Magazines. I LOVE to swim, and have traveled to many of the world's best places to "splishy splashy" (as my husband calls it). I wanted to swim in VH's pool. Nonetheless, I emailed VH FIVE DAYS in advance to request directions asking for options to get to VH from Lucerne (which I was traveling from). It took three days, yes, 3 DAYS, for VH to write a one-line response stating that I have to take a bus from Lucerne, then another bus, then walk 25 minutes. Well, if I were my usual self, sure, I could walk 25 minutes. However, thanks to fellow travel reviewers, they had mentioned that the 25 minutes consists of a hill which my injury cannot sustain. Point 1 - VH did not mention any uphill climbing. Next, I respond to VH asking if they could help me call a taxi (you have to understand that this place is quite "out there"). Another 2 days had passed, and by then, my spa reservation has come and gone. Oh, right, you have to pre-reserve your spa time (which I did three months ago). The day AFTER my spa time had passed, I receive an email stating that they could take two buses and then VH could help me call a taxi provided that I tell them beforehand my arrival time which obviously I could do because I have (1) never take either buses before, (2) never been to VH before, and (3) umm.. need I say more. Sure, I could've just arranged for all of this when I bought the VH spa tickets months ago. You might even say that it was my fault for not getting this ahead of time. I even blame myself a little bit, BUT I'M PAYING A FAIR AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR HOSPITALITY!!! I would've called if I were dealing with the government, but should've a FIVE STAR hotel be more responsive? I respectfully requested VH for a refund due to their communication of lack thereof... It's been three days and I have not heard a yes or no.. so typical.

Yelp
Location and Service at it's best! The Honegg is a great place for a day trip to central Switzerland. The last 3km of the road already suggest a mountain feeling, it is steep (even though we have seen people on Bicycles). But you want to enjoy the remote mountain feeling in perfect and XX-Star atmosphere, right? It is worth while to stop for a light snack at the terrace with its stunning view to the lake and the mountains. And, yes, Dinner and Lunch are very well prepared and furthermore served by very friendly people in perfection. BUT, if you can, use their Spa (call for reservation in advance). See the pictures and you know why. And, yes, it all goes together as a one-day trip: snack at the terrace, spa, dinner....

Yelp
Where can be more romantic to have the Valentine's day lunch at this nicely situated hotel dining room while watching snow flakes flowing around outside? Feels like in the heaven. Besides the great ambiance, the food was carefully selected and well prepared. The service is polished yet friendly. Love this place.
