19 Best Hotels in Málaga, Costa del Sol’s Scenic Capital | Condé Nast Traveler

"Blending grand-hotel comforts with quirky, site-specific details, this five-star property sometimes places bathtubs next to beds and even reveals sections of Málaga’s Roman walls beneath a glass floor—an elegant reminder of the city’s layered history. I appreciated the lively touches such as weekly performances by local musicians in the bar, an interior courtyard, a library, a swimming pool, and a restaurant serving strong local cuisine." - Marta Sader

Vincci Selección Posada del Patio (Malaga, Costa del Sol) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Considering it’s part of a chain with dozens of hotels across Spain, Vincci Selección Posada del Patio, in Málaga’s old town, is surprisingly full of character. As the name suggests, this luxury hotel occupies a historic posada, but the site itself is much older — glass panels in the lobby reveal ruins of the ancient city walls, including Roman-built stone sections that date back to the fifth century." - Tablet Hotels

Hotel Posada del Patio | Best places to stay in Malaga

"On the edge of Old Malaga, this sleek new five-star hotel envelopes the patio of a previous building and a section of the city’s old Arab walls in its nether regions. Well-positioned for seeing the sights – the Picasso Museum, Cathedral and arty Soho district are a short walk away, the Posada del Patio has big bedrooms in soothing tones, and there’s a small rooftop pool for a cool dip after a day’s sightseeing. The buffet breakfast is excellent, and there’s a smart restaurant, Le Diner and bar. But in spite of all its bells and whistles, it’s the friendly, helpful smiling staff who make it an ideal place to stay for getting the most out of Malaga. " - Dana Facaros

My wife and I decided to book to stay here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, We we’re overwhelmed with the hotel, the staff are so friendly and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel decor is stunning, from the hotel lobby to the beautifully appointed immaculately clean bedrooms. The hotel facilities are spectacular, you can walk a small section of the ancient city walls underneath the hotel which have been preserved during the construction of the hotel. The hotel has a lovely small roof top pool, perfect for an afternoon dip after exploring the wonderful city of Malaga. The hotel’s restaurant was equally as amazing, the menu is superb, combining local flavours with high quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous and the hotel has an impressive wine menu expertly chosen to accompany the dishes on their menu. The restaurant staff are attentive and incredibly professional. We are looking toward to staying here again during our next stay in Malaga !

Had an amazing stay at Vincci Posada del Patio. The hotel is beautiful and located in a quiet corner of the historic centre of Malaga, whilst only a 5-10 minute walk from all of the main sights of the city.||Everything about the hotel and experience was exceptional. The whole team were so friendly, welcoming and professional - from the reception to the breakfast team and everyone in between. We had a couple of examples of where the staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was one to remember. Yolanda (Duty Manager) in particular was a huge help, really appreciated.||The breakfast spread was fantastic, great selection and quality produce. The gluten free section was excellent too.||We chose Vincci after a lovely stay in their Tenerife hotel and we are so glad we chose them again. Would not hesitate to choose them again and recommend to others, thank you!

Recently stayed here, very nice hotel not quite central but near enough to places of interest. Lovely room, comfy bed and gorgeous bathroom with Clarins products. Breakfast was okay, but service is not attentive, have to ask if you want another jug of coffee or missing crockery etc. Used plates not removed . Evening meal was very nice, wonderful bread and oil to start, limited choices if you stay for more than a couple of nights. Desserts could be improved. The swimming pool area gets very busy and there is no place for relaxing. The bar is a let down as bar staff ignore you, not once were we asked if we wanted a drink when sitting there and cocktails are €13! 😲 Enjoyed our stay but didn't feel it was a 5* experience.

The service and attention to detail were perfect. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My daughter was ill and they enquired after her, offering to assist with a doctor. The hotel is beautiful, spotless and full of little touches that make your stay special. Conveniently located, calm and restorative after days of sightseeing.

Our flight home was cancelled and as staying in the villa we had rented was not an option, and the airline wasn’t very helpful, we looked to see where we could stay that night. Not really giving it much thought we booked this hotel as somewhere to stay whilst our flight was sorted. |How lucky were we?!!! As soon as we arrived our bags were whisked away and we were offered refreshments by a very friendly man (Miguel?) which immediately set us at ease. Marta on reception was amazing and although our booked standard room wasn’t yet available (it was only 12 noon so to be expected) having heard our story she offered us a premium suite room for a nominal extra charge. It was an amazing room with ‘club’ facilities of free drink and food. |We enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Lovely staff, comfy beds (I want to take the pillows home!) and fantastic location. Breakfast was lovely.|Sorry I didn’t take everyone’s names but Enrique should also be mentioned.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. We moved here from an alleged 4* that was barely 3. This hotel had it all. Comfort, location , atmosphere , and a great rooftop pool. ||The staff are all attentive and friendly and truly showing it’s 5*. ||A perfect location for a short break or for business and great to see totally set up for disabled guests also.

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had - truly deserving of all the praise it’s received. I’ve traveled extensively and regularly stay in 5-star hotels, and this one unquestionably offers the best customer care experience. The staff genuinely care about you and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. The hotel also has countless hidden perks that are difficult to describe, even if I tried. The food is top-tier. I genuinely look forward to discovering the delightful pastries they leave outside our room each day. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options to satisfy any morning craving, and they’re happy to accommodate custom requests. It’s also a very quaint hotel, designed in harmony with the natural architecture of the surrounding area. As you walk through the entrance, the first thing that catches your eye is the glass floor revealing an underground crypt. Opposite the reception area, there’s a versatile indoor-outdoor lounge and workspace that lets you soak in as much natural light as you like. Most importantly, the hotel is seamlessly integrated into the surrounding neighborhood. Unlike other places I’ve visited that feel like isolated fortresses, this one makes you feel embedded in the local life. Although I’ve already mentioned this, the staff deserve even more praise - we visited early last year and felt so welcomed that we had to return this year. Especially Fatima, who once again graced us with her fantastic presence and, along with the rest of the team, ensured we had a truly wonderful hotel experience.

Honestly don’t know where to start. I’ve stayed in multiple 5 star hotels but nothing comes close to this Vincci location. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Malaga, most things are in walking distance and if not there is a bus stop just outside the hotel. Our room was amazing, super spacious and absolutely spotless. The amenities such as the pool and restaurant are lovely, the pool can get busy but particularly during off season it is not. This is my second time staying here and we came back due to how amazing the staff were. They are just so nice and take an actual interest in you that doesn’t feel disingenuous. Special thanks to Fatima who made our last trip and this trip especially amazing. Also Francisco who made our breakfasts very enjoyable. Another big thank you to all the staff who are all so kind and great at their jobs. I’ve stayed at many 5 star hotels and this hotels is definitely millions of miles ahead of others, mostly due to how great their staff is.

Yelp
A really nice hotel in the city center of Malaga. It is built in Arabic and Roman ruins and they have done a great job preserving the history. You can go down and walk along the walls. Rooms here are good and spacious. Bed was very comfortable and I had two good nights of sleep here. It is well insulated from the noise outside and you have a small balcony. Staff here are good and the breakfast is also ok. The bar is lovely and they make nice cocktails here. All in all a great experience and I would happily come here again.
