Vincci the Mint | Best places to stay in Madrid

"This character-packed hotel, with its striking interiors and relaxed social spaces, is just as refreshing as its name suggests. Located on downtown Madrid’s main street, the Gran Vía – just steps away from the buzzing, bar-filled district of Chueca – it feels slightly removed from the main touristy areas of Madrid, but you’re only a 10-minute walk to the Prado Museum and Retiro Park. Rooms are comfy and soothing in teal and gold, the suites have terraces with great city views, and the rooftop bar is a favourite hangout, with food and drinks served from an urban food truck. Even checking in is fun — the front desk is a bar. With switched-on staff who know the best non-touristy hotspots to go to, it’s a good bet for couples and first-timers who want to dip into the local scene. " - Dana Facaros

We loved our stay at the Vincci for 3 nights. The location is really great as the gran via gets a little quieter (relatively) at this end of the street. The front desk staff were super nice during our stay, even helping us call a local restaurant to ask about a reservation modification. They also arranged a surprise snack and note in the room for my wife’s birthday which was super kind. We were in a tower suite that had a really large terrace and we appreciated having the extra window that this room type afforded. The room itself felt a bit like an apartment which was very welcoming. The lobby always had water and candy available which was cute and refreshing. My one complaint is that the breakfast was pretty overpriced for the portions and quality of the items I ordered. I had the oatmeal and yogurt with red berries and a coffee. The total was €15 and based on quantity and quality and considering hotel convenience up-charge I think €11 would be a fairer total price as the oatmeal tasted like one-minute oats and the yogurt had maybe 5 tiny berries on it. All nitpicking aside, we would stay here again for its convenience and cleanliness. We wish there were robes but the complimentary slippers did not go unnoticed :)

I did a deep research where to stay in Madrid, it was our first time visiting. We just got back and all the positive reviews are true. The hotel is very nice and everything is impeccable and well located. What impressed us the most is that after traveling all night long from Miami they gave us the room way before the check in time. It gave us a chance to shower and rest for a bit. I highly recommend this hotel and definitely I would stay there if I go back to Madrid

The hotel is very chic and boutique-like. I recommend for a nice place to stay and the decor and the rooms were amazing. The staff there is very attentive and helped us with everything. 100% recommend if you're staying near the center of Madrid right next to the Grand Via. Breakfast was the highlight of the hotel. They have a rooftop bar where you can enjoy the city lights.

This boutique hotel is very charming. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed drinks and tapas at the bar. Their breakfast menu is extensive and made to order. It’s delicious. Their rooms have a great view of the city— and includes a small balcony. Big thanks for the hotel staff—you rock!

Impeccable service - zero faults. The staff went above and beyond on a number of occasions. Location is perfect - close to metro, main shopping district and close to many bars and restaurants. Shout out for the rooftop bar too, really cool hangout

It was my first time in Madrid. We travelled with my mom to celebrate her birthday and the choice couldn't be better. The location is super convenient just walking distance from the Royal Palace and many other touristic spots. The food at breakfast is varied and delicious, the smell of the hotel and the room (mint) is so delicious and the cherry on top is the super kind staff who are willing to help at anytime. They even helped me to make this special decoration and offered a gift to my mom on her Birthday day. For sure I would like to come back and big thanks to all the staff.

Great hotel located on the Gran Via. Modern, clean. Spacious guest rooms and bathrooms. Fully equipped rooms. Friendly staff. Stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the comforts of our room and close access to many restaurants and shops in the area.

An Absolute Gem in the Heart of Madrid – A Must-Stay! I stumbled upon The Mint Viccini Hotel on HotelsTonight and was instantly drawn to its sleek design—but little did I know I’d end up extending my stay for three more nights (directly with the hotel at a much better rate)! From the moment I arrived after a long train ride from Granada, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Yanett welcomed me with such warmth and hospitality that I instantly felt at ease and at home. Ivan and Pablo were absolute stars—going above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, well taken care of, and felt completely safe throughout my stay. The service is top-tier without being stuffy, and the location couldn’t be more perfect for exploring Madrid. Every detail, from the elegant decor to the thoughtfully curated food, is executed flawlessly. But the real showstopper? The rooftop bar—with breathtaking views, phenomenal cuisine, and a vibe that perfectly captures the magic of Madrid. I’m absolutely obsessed, and even that doesn’t do it justice. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Madrid, stop scrolling. The Mint Viccini is the one. I already can’t wait to come back.

Yelp
I had the worst experience I have ever had anywhere. My purse was stolen in the lobby in front of the staff. The security there is non existent! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
This place rocks! Right in the center small rooms but very functional, street facing can be somewhat noisy, not too bad, fantastic location. 1. Breakfast until 2pm every day! For E14 you can pick any item on the breakfast menu, unlimited refills on cofee, tea, beer and aperitifs! 2. Rooftop bar open until 1pm, great view and chill, serving drinks and small plates. 3. Super friendly staff and cool ambience. 4. Style Whats not to love!?

Yelp
Mint anyone? The moment you enter the hotel until you leave it, all you will see and smell is mint green! This boutique hotel is well decorated and carries its name well. The friendly staff at the reception desk will greet you with a smile and a minty drink. The hotel could not be better located as you can pretty much walk to all the great attractions that Madrid has to offer... and there are many! Whether you are here to see museums, stroll around the beautiful Retiro park, shop, eat or visit historical sites, this hotel is within walking distance from it all. Don't fret if walking is not your thing as there are metro accesses nearby or plenty of taxis passing by the busy Gran Via Blvd. The rooms are comfortable and clean and offer all the bells and whistles one needs whether on business or vacation. The AC works wonderfully well which is a treat during the hot summer months. 2 drawbacks: 1-the AC thermostat was impossible to figure out and therefore the only way to regulate the temperature was to turn it on or off; and 2- the view from the room (or shall I say the lack of view?). The only thing you see from the little window is other room's windows which is quite disappointing when you realize how incredibly beautiful this city is. The room was very quite, however. I did not hear a peep from the outside world once in my room. Breakfast was good but a bit misleading as it is not entirely included as you expect when you reserve a "breakfast included" room. What is included is the basic continental breakfast which included a variety of bread types, jellies, coffee and orange juice. If you want to add yogurt, cereal, fruits and a tiny slice of turkey and cheese, you must add 4 Euros. Then if you want to add eggs, it's 8 euros more a person... Breakfast was not a buffet, however the quality of each ingredient really good. The biggest attraction of the hotel is its roof top bar with its attractive view, great atmosphere, and great drinks and snacks. A good time to go is when the sun sets. The bar itself is actually in a old wagon (green of course) which ads a special touch to the decor. The drinks and food come out impressively fast and the entire roof has a misting system which adds a bit of coolness to the desert hot and dry summer weather conditions. Small tapas are reasonably priced and pretty good. Enjoy your stay!

Yelp
Fantastic! Just completed a two night stay at Hotel Vincci The Mint - very nice! I travel frequently for business and stay in many nice hotels as a result. This hotel is quite clean and nice for the price. Although the overall room area may be a bit small as compared to United States standards (who stays in the room when there is so much to do in Madrid?!), the very comfortable double bed (two twin beds pushed together) rivals the size of a King size bed, the mini-bar refrigerator is great to utilize for any leftover food items, and the room safe is certainly a nice amenity. Although my room was on the busy Gran via street side - nice view, the soundproofing was quite good as only the occasional police/ambulance siren was heard; however, earplugs remedied that. The lobby area is well appointed with several distinct seating areas and an artistic Mint theme. Hotel staff were quite hospitable. I would certainly stay here again. Great experience!

Yelp
Their rooftop terrace is nice. Good ambiance, nice place for a late night drink. Appetizers were cold and underwhelming. Drinks were good if u could get them. After my second margarita they ran out of tequila. Came back three nights later and they were still out and had also run out of my second choice drink which was pisco.

Yelp
Comfortable and moderately priced in the heart of Madrid, close to chueca and the metro. Super cool interior painted in the mint colored theme, the staff was very welcoming and accommodating in both Spanish and English. The breakfast add on is a must since soapy culture food not seem to have a big breakfast coffee brunch scene Vincci hotel the mint did great cafe cortado and eggs with bacon. The bed was large and comfortable the bathroom spacious and clean with still the cool mint decor, can't beat for the price

Yelp
Oh Hotel Vincci The Mint you attractive but difficult little minx. This hotel is a modern and attractive hotel for the trendy hotel person but the hotel is still working out a lot of kinks. One of which we happened to encounter and it was torturous. Our hotel room was not the basic room but an upgraded room that gave us more space and thus, it was at the end of a hall. The room itself was nice but the difficult part was that it was located next to a janitorial access area. Okay, you might think, "How bad can this be?" Well, when the door slams and it sounds like police throwing a flash bang in the hallway outside your door and it will rattle the doors and closets in your room. Well, there are two doors the janitors must go through so there are two rounds of this and they are constantly streaming in and out of them like it's a metro station. From 7am till 2am, this door will open and slam every 5 minutes or so. After one sleep deprived morning, I let the front desk know about the issue and they assured me they would look into it. The next morning it continued, so I told the front desk and the housekeeping about it. Nothing changed -- still the same flash bang disruption in the morning and god forbid if you attempted to take a nap. After this, I got creative and taped a black pencil in the door so it wouldn't slam. This bought me enough time for a nap but then it started again. I then taped some rolled toilet paper in the door jam and it bought me some time till it was removed. This went on for several more days till I basically jumped out of my hotel room and yelled at a housekeeper. Let me just say, for the record, I don't think I have yelled at anyone in about 10 years as it rarely happens. She didn't understand english but I gave the appropriate motions to indicate my sleeping was disrupted due to the banging of the door. I am sure my looking like hell warmed over filled in the blanks. The problem stopped after that as they closed the door more softly and I went to the front desk to apologize for my frustration as it wasn't housekeeping's fault, the issue was really the door pull wasn't slowing the door enough and thus it would close with a ton of force. I hope they fix this for future travelers but I also felt like they should have moved us to a different room or done something due to the issue persisting. Maybe that is my American way of thinking of things and the European mindset was one of where I would ask for that if I wanted it. Nonetheless, the door issue wasn't fixed and it was bothersome. The rest of the experience with the hotel was positive. The rooftop bar is trendy and the drinks are decent. The food is average but the view is nice and so is the ambiance. The food at the hotel is average but they have an AMAZING restaurant that is located one spot to the left of the hotel (if you are facing it). Hotel Vinnci The Mint was clearly a quick makeover of an older hotel. Some of the upgrades photograph well but you can also tell they will wear poorly in time. My wife noted frustration with a lack of an outlet for drying her hair in the bathroom. One other point is that the wifi was really slow at the hotel. Forget trying to download a movie or stream video.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel because it has 4stars rating and because it is centrally located. It is within walking distance from major tourist attractions. It also has very friendly staff both front desk and restaurant. The room is very small but clean. No smell of cigarettes! Our "bed" had two long tween beds pushed together-not suitable for a married couple who likes to sleep together. There were enough shampoos, shower gels and hand soaps. Our problem was this hotel didn't provide hand wash towels or hair conditioners. I also think my suitcase was opened, though nothing was stolen. However my passport was in my suitcase and it could've been photographed. It also had very limited counter space. These are the reasons I am only giving it 3 stars.

Yelp
This hotel was such a find! Very good price for what turned out to be a great location, beautiful boutique hotel, and friendly staff. The beds were really comfortable, which is important after a full day of sightseeing and walking. The onsite restaurant serves throughout the lobby area. And they will even walk the food up to your room even though they technically don't have room service. The hotel looks brand new and everything is super clean; decor is fresh and modern throughout the hotel. Definitely a must-do! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
