"Marie and Lorenz Wissler represent the fourth generation of their family to run Berghotel Wiedener Eck, which enjoys an idyllic location at over 1 000m above sea level – the view of the valley is stunning! For overnight stays, there are attractive, cosy guestrooms, and the restaurant is brimming with traditional Black Forest charm, interspersed with modern touches. In the restaurant, you can look forward to friendly and courteous service, as well as regional cuisine and dishes that draw on the culinary traditions of France and the Mediterranean, all made from fresh high-quality ingredients – the chef even hunts his own game. In the evenings, there is a set menu that changes every day, plus the seasonal "Wiedener Eck Menü". You can also order the individual courses of both à la carte. Tip: The surrounding forests and meadows make this hotel a perfect starting point for hikes!" - Michelin Inspector

A very nice hotel with a fantastic view. The staff is very friendly. I stopped for short break and for coffee and plum cake which are great! I will definitely visit this place again. My warm recommendation!

I stayed here while hiking the Westweg. Its literally on the trail so treat yourself, you’ve been hiking all day through the mountains! It’s a little pricey but not terrible for Germany and you do get a lot for your money (sauna, pool, fancy room and incredible view). Dinner isn’t included but breakfast is and it’s a decent breakfast spread.

Situated in the Black Forest, South West Germany.||This wonderful, family maintained, hotel is a place to cheerfully sing about.||We were lucky enough to be here, over Christmas and New Year,||and we were treated to spectacular festive food with live music and singing.||Dancing into the New Year was a pleasure, that we were relaxed enough to fully enjoy.||||This 4 star hotel, actually, gets a five star rating from me. On account of the genuinely cheerful “good mornings” from the staff who keep the rooms in immaculate condition.||Breakfast is a real pleasure here. The variety and quality of food lets you know, first thing in the morning, that you are dealing with a chef who knows exactly what he is doing.||||We experienced friendly staff in traditional local costume. Always caring, and happy to top up the coffee jug. The service was a delight. It was also a treat to admire the artistic Christmas decorations; The Christmas trees, providing an atmospheric light, both outside and inside.||Always something for explorers to focus their eyes on.||||The refreshing local walks included a circuit that traced the footsteps of famous philosopher Martin Heidegger, from his modest house all the way around a nearby village. His search for the truth of ‘being’ sparked a coherent body of thought known as existentialism. But it is also a wonderful place to enjoy a lunch with skiers providing dynamism to a beautiful wonderland scenery.||||Returning to the hotel for a swim in a large pool. It is warm enough to relax by the pool afterwards. For the more adventurous there is a Spar area with saunas to explore in the basement.||Eventually emerging relaxed and contented for the evening meal that you have been wondering about since breakfast. The food is excellent of course, and as you would expect from this region, the wine is too.||||While in the midst of an evening coffee, and a chat with other guests, you may even notice yourself looking forwards to the next days cheerful good mornings. What a pleasant atmosphere. No wonder some guests return year after year to savour it.

The Hotel Wiedener Eck has a great location with a beautiful panoramic view and is located directly on various hiking trails (e.g. Westweg, Belchensteig). We spent two nights (Belchensteig special offer) in the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. When we left for the hike, the staff even offered to pick us up by car in case of heavy rain. The room was nice, the bathroom was a bit dated and not 100% clean. The kitchen deserves a special mention. The offer included a 4-course menu, which was absolutely excellent on both days! There was also plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. The indoor pool is good, especially the panoramic view from the sun loungers is very nice. The wellness area is a bit rustic. Unfortunately, only one sauna was in operation during our visit (overall there was relatively little going on in the hotel). The relaxation room with "starry sky" (illuminated ceiling) is nicely done. The massage, which we booked extra, was very soothing and relaxing. Unfortunately, there is currently no service on the panorama terrace due to a lack of staff. However, there is a vending machine for external visitors as well. A small farewell gift (wine cooler) upon check-out was also a nice touch.

I grew up in that region and I left it behind myself, many years ago. So it is special to come “home” observing things from a “special” perspective. Dinner was great - not extraordinary - but really ok., recommend. We stayed, unplanned, over night because - have been trying to much of local wines and other stuff. 4-Hotel-stars is one too much for me, even if they offer a pool and sauna. ||Offering some bottles of water in the rooms, a real vegan breakfast corner and some alternatives to ordinary diary products would make the guest experience far better. And - What about some baked Black Forrest Speck in the morning?||The staff’s attitude is kind and friendly. ||The room, they booked us in, was well prepared - even on short notice. And the manager offered us a 24h WiFi-code for free; very kind. Nevertheless I would expect that a free access to the internet should be there for everyone. Come on! A indicated 4-star Hotel in our days!||All the best for you guys - I’ll be back in 25 years for checking... 😎🙏❄️||br

The staff is super friendly and the food was excellent! Better than most restaurants. They not only accept dogs but welcome them. Our dog could sleep in its own little bed. The scenery is also fantastic and very quiet.

After a bad experience with a hotel very close by, we were welcomed by the Familie Wissler, and made comfortably in every way! Lovely clean room, with lovely views, very nice sauna and pool. Beautiful sunny dining/breakfast room, but it was also possible to eat in the hundred-year old "Stube" of the hotel, with oakbeams and candle-light.||The pension-menu was excellent with a choice of 3 maincourses (meat, fish, vegetarian). People from the nearby village Wieden come here as well to eat. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff very helpful. The hotel is located on a beautiful spot, very quiet, in the midst of many "Wanderwege" (walks!). ||No doubt we will return here!
