Hotline Burger

Very good burgers in Chinatown. Stopped by after Hotline has been showing up in my Google searches the past few weeks, and wanted something different from fast food burgers close by. I was not disappointed! Got the patty melt and modded it with a 3rd patty, bacon and jalapeños. It was exactly what I was looking for!!! Enjoyed it on the patio - was a good time. The pics speak for themselves. I’ll be returning next week 😎

Hotline Burger, nestled conveniently close to St. Agnes High School in Chinatown, is a true hidden gem for burger aficionados. If you're in the mood for a classic, no-frills burger that truly delivers on taste, this spot is a must-try. The highlight here is undoubtedly the burgers themselves. The patties are exceptional, boasting a rich, savory flavor that sets them apart. However, while the burgers hit all the right notes, there's room for growth in other areas. As someone who appreciates a balanced meal, I found myself wishing for more diverse/healthier options. Overall the place is a step up from your McDonald’s and ranks well in the smash burger category. I’ll will visit again when I’m in the area.

Hotline Burger is the real deal! The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and super satisfying. The Classic and Hotline Burgers are my go-tos, and the crispy fries — Perfect. Prices are great for the quality, too. The Bellair location is fun to sit outside the pink building, and the Eldridge spot has a cool indoor vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! *They use recyclable boxes and packaging, helping reduce waste!

I love this place. What a great burger. Food: I'm biased. I love smash burgers and search them out in every city I visit. This is some of the best. I'll be back every time I'm in Houston. Good freaking job! The Garlic Parmesan Fries were also very good. Didn't skip on them! Service: the girl who took my order was so nice and welcoming. Thank you for a great experience. Atmosphere: this location is out door seating only. So, that's good or bad depending on the weather. But I like the building and the design!

Had a craving for a smash burger and this place didn’t disappoint! Service was awesome, didn’t feel rushed but the food came out so quickly and it didn’t taste rushed at all. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. I certainly can’t wait to go back. (Drive thru was closed when I went so keep that in mind and parking was a bit limited)

Quick and friendly service - not to mention the burgers were SO good. Everything freshly made. The fries were also fresh. My girl got the garlic fries and they were deliciously seasoned. We will definitely be back to this location!

Neat smash burger joint. Outdoor dining. Highly recommended for burger lovers. The "hotline" burger has their special sauce. And you can't go wrong with the "classic" burger. To compare, I think it is 2 notches above Bub's Burger in NOLA.

Yes, yes and yes!!! I do love some Hotline Burger, and I was craving it mid-week and wanted to get off my healthy kick for the day. I have been to the Hwy 6 location several times, but hadn't been to this one yet, and the day was nice out, so I decided to give it a go. This location does not have indoor seating, but they do have a patio outside with covered tables which was nice for a day like that. I ordered my food at the walk-up and waited, not too long, and before I knew it, the bag was secured, and the food was ready to be inhaled! I got the Hotline burger, single patty, which was just enough, and some parmesan fries. Everything was super hot, and fresh, and with every bite, I just devoured more and more. It is really hard to go wrong with a Hotline burger when they have consistently stayed consistent. Yep, I said it! They have sustained consistency every time I go, and that is what makes me love them so much!

Been curious to try this burger spot out in front of Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes and finally got the chance recently. While it doesn't seem like there is too much dining in here, I must say the smash burgers are excellent. The fries are very crispy, even after a good 20-30 minute ride home. This place is located on the outskirts of Chinatown on Bellaire and serves as a nice alternative to the predominantly Asian food along the street. Prices are in line with other premium burger joints. We will definitely be back in the near future!

Hotline Burger is such a hidden gem!! The building formerly housed an ice cream joint which never seemed to be very busy anyway so I'm happy that Hotline Burger took its place! I generally only eat Asian food in this area but after a long beach day, we were craving burgers. Much needed sustenance! We got the junior (1 patty) hotline burger, the regular (2 patties) patty melt, along with the smack fries. Everything was so good! I'm not crazy about onions but their caramelized onions in the burger and over the smack fries are so yummy and it compliments the smack sauce well. The burgers were perfectly charred. If you like smash burgers, I think you'll love Hotline! There is a drive through but it has been closed the last 2 times that I've been. I wish it was open though because I don't prefer to get out of my car if I don't have to (especially in this Houston heat). There are 3 picnic tables out front but they were all occupied the first time I went so we had to eat in the car which got a bit messy.

LOVED THE FRIES!!! Ordered via their website about 5 minutes ahead and was ready within 5 minutes of waiting in the car. Got the BBQ burger and really liked the flavors. It had bbq sauce, crispy onions, pickles and American cheese. The bun was pillowy and the combination with everything paired really well. Also got two side of fries which was the Hot Fries (almost tasted like spicy ramen seasoning) and Parmesan Garlic fries (really tasty and smelled like Wingstop). One of the most crispiest fries I have ever tasted! Really great job. They had the option of drive thru, but this day I went I guess it was closed. Parking - You can park within the Confucius plaza and walk up to order/pick-up the order

Thomas doesn't like tomatoes. So, don't ask for it. Smashed burger is a trendy dish, I didn't know that. I'm so glad Hotline opened their 2nd restaurant in Chinatown. I was here during a foodie meetup event last Saturday. My friends already ate. So, I ordered mine to go. Well... it's only takeout anyway. I took mine home and I jazzed it up with more vegetables. I'm a picky eater. I have to have vegetables on my burgers. Eating this crispy patty made me want to fry an egg and add extra crispy to the texture. I like the simple concept and the standalone restaurant separate from the rest of the building at Bellaire Gessner Shopping Center aka Fiesta Plaza.

Don't sleep on this tiny smash burger joint! Honestly I wasn't sure what to expect but the burger is delicious! I ended up getting the hotline with no cheese/add jalapeños. Wow! I think it's the combination of the sauce/pickles/onions that did it! This was a solid burger and if you're thinking of trying this place, you definitely should. It lives up to its rating! Also there's plenty of parking and short wait time. The guy working there was also friendly.

Literally nothing bad to say about this place at all. Stumbled upon this gem while in the area and I absolutely did not want the typical drive thru at a traditional fast food restaurant. Walk up window at this location and the cutest Cali style patio. The menu is solid and not overwhelming which I love! I ordered the patty melt, the bbq smash (both junior) and the parm fries. All great choices. Cooked well and crispy. The fries were amazing and not greasy which is something I also loved. The drinks are purchased separately and a little expensive. It's located right next to a grocery store if you want but totally just an idea. For myself and my daughter for lunch I spent exactly $26. I will absolutely try their other location near me on hwy 6. Will return

I'm giving this place 4 stars because there was too much ketchup in my classic burger. I ordered the regular which is a double patty, the meat wasn't seasoned enough and there was too much ketchup but the overall burger was very fresh and prepared well, especially with a nicely toasted bun. They do make it to order hence the high ratings, but I'll have to come back to try it again without too much of the ketchup. The cook was very nice!

Great smashburgers. My new favorite place for burgers. Fries are great and the spicy version is actually spicy. Love the fresh pickles and jalepenos. I've even had this place delivered and the food travels well!

I was on my usual discovery drive around the Chinatown area when I noticed something interesting. The sign saying "Hotline Burger" in a shopping plaza. I thought I would make my way to Hotline Burger's newest location and I was not disappointed First thing I did was walk up to the counter and was greeted. I luckily remembered a bit of what was on the menu from looking online. I decided to go with the patty melt and hotline burger. I cannot say how the patty melt was since I was picking up lunch for my family but I did try the hotline burger. The hotline burger are smashed patties with that nice crispy edge to it. I took a bite and I was hooked. The smack sauce, pickles, onions, American cheese all in between soft burger buns...what else could you ask for? The area is in a busy section of Bellaire outside of Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes. But a good ambiance to just come by and casually pick up a burger and sit or take it to go. *This might be an outrageous statement* I think this is a much better smashed burger than the famous one place in Montrose if you what I'm saying Lol I'm definitely going back for more when I get a chance.

Great burger and friendly service! Cooked once ordered and very tasty. I got the Hotline as is and craving a burger, it hit the mark. No fake meat, stale bread, cheapness... all fresh and tasty! Will go there anytime that burger craving hits in Houston! Did not wait long and parking was easy. Nice tables outside or just wait in your car...

The Hotline burger was excellence with two smash patties, Smack sauce (whatever it is, it's good), American cheese, pickles, and grilled onions. We also had some fries with garlic, cheese, Smack sauce, and some hot sauce. Everything was delicious. Going back soon.

Amazing burger if you have the luxury of eating it right then and there. The owner is very friendly and his crew is chef grade burger magicians. I loved them so much, they set the bar. The fries are enough to feed two people and have a unique crunch. They gave everything they were supposed to give. And left no crumbs. Must try. But extra. Some things you can't eat just one.

Wow have been driving by and finally decided to get some burgers to go. Great burgers, and flavor. I'm usually an add extra lettuce tomato kind of burger but I didn't miss it. The patties were big and filling, the pickles were crunchy, and the fries were crispy and excellent. I ordered online and went for pick up. They send a text when it's ready and you can get it at the window. The drive through was closed when I went. I'm excited to come back, good place for a burger craving. Also worth the $ Next time I'll take pictures.

Been eyeing this place for a while as I drive around Chinatown and finally got a chance to stop by and try it! It's right next to St. Agnes, in the same plaza as Fiesta. It's small and there's no indoor seating, but there is outdoor seating. You can place your order at the window and wait in your car and they'll text you when it's ready. We each got the patty melt and smash fries to share. The Texas toast was so tasty and the smack sauce is chef's kiss!! Absolute perfection! Dare I say this is our new favorite burger joint? I wish I snapped a photo of the food to share. We were waiting so long for them to open so we were hungry and scarfed down our food! They had been closed 2 days due to the freeze and opened again later in the day. I really appreciate how great they are at updating their social media and hours of operation online. Service is awesome so definitely go check this place out!

Met the charming young man who owns this place. He explained its a "smash burger" here. Food was excellent. Had a bbq burger and garlic Parmesan fries. Great for a quick stop. Took the food home. Has a patio out front where you can bring a dog.

Fresh and sizable burger made to order. Gotta say the burger itself was alright in flavor, the hotline burger was sweet in flavor profile which I didn't like myself. There's no place to sit to be ready for that unless you want to eat outside. Fast service, might come back

Great smash burger. Definitely top 3 I can remember. The seating is all outside, so it's great if it's a nice day outside, however more ideal for pick up.

Burger was excellent! Fries were just ok. Assumed this place is new. A couple of opportunities cities I had - and hope they work it out - were: 1. Asked to not add onions, she acknowledged it but my first bite discovered the onions. 2. Need to open drive-thru. In the summer no one wants to sit outside, and that's the only option.

Everything else was really good too, but those were our favorites. It was a nice day, so we opted to sit outside. There's no indoor seating, but there's a drive thru and an option to order online and be texted when your order is ready. Will be returning for sure!

I ordered the classic burger without ketchup and mustard. I added grilled onions. The burger is pretty tasty. I like a good smash burger. I believe the spot is operated by one worker/potential owner. I ordered the parmesan fries. They remind me of checkers frozen fries with a seasoning added. You cannot go wrong checkers fries. I spent around 15.00. I do wish they had indoor seating. Today it felt about 90 degrees. If I come back it will be at night. Not sure if they have a drive thru. I really like that it's halal.

It's located at a small spot with no seating inside, just outdoors. Customer service was friendly and helpful. Ordered a Hotline Burger, and the BBQ Burger along with Smack Fries. The BBQ Burger was decent and the Smack Fries were a better version of animal style fries that you would get at an In N Out. The Hotline Burger was just alright. Would go back just for the fries.

The burgers are halal and everything tastes great . I ordered online. The service was great. The bathroom was clean. Fries were hot.

I was really surprised at how good this place was. It's a like an old school burger hop type of style with a few benches. They text your phone when the order is ready. The fries are very crispy with a great tasting sauce and seasing. The burgers were very tasty, especially the BBQ burger. Not over cooked, not dry and definitely not flavorless. The crispy onions and BBQ sauce were a perfect mix. The hotline Burger was great, but I'd get it next time without pickles. Overall fast service, friendly employee and delicious food.

This place is great. One of my favorite burger joints in Houston. Consistent with their food. Awesome crust on their burgers and always tastes fresh. I believe they are better than Trill Burger. My only complaint is that I'm not a fan of their fries. I believe they are seasoned (not curly fry style) which makes them a bit stale. But a lot of places carry those fries...wish they had a McDonald's style fries. But 5 stars for the burger since I can go without fries!

So so so good! I was debating to go here or go to Trill Burgers since I was in the mood for a smash burger. Decided to go here since I wanted to be in Chinatown to be near other places. I am so glad I decided here! Walk up counter style to order and pick up with outdoor seating. No indoor seating. Took less than minutes to get order. One of the best burgers I have ever had. Not overly salty and full of flavor. I had the hotline burger and it was just perfect with the grilled onions, smack sauce. I usually don't get cheese with my burgers but decided to keep it as is and so glad I did. I ordered hot fries which is sriracha dry seasoning over the fries. Fries were fresh and crispy. The seasoning was had a decent spicy kick to it and generous. Definitely recommend and want to come back!

My oldest son just recently started attending Strake Jesuit, and he has me waiting on him after school for various activities. I was really hungry one day and saw this place. It's literally the best smash burger I've ever tasted.

The Hotline Burger is really yummy for $9 ish, medium size with thin double patties and pickles and onions. I was really hungry and I believe I have to eat 2 of them burgers to be full. If you want you can add bacons (2 slices for $2 ish extra). The person who answered the phone is really nice, I assume he must be the owner because he said that the drive through window is there from previous ice cream shop, but not servicing burgers customers. He said the little builder is too small and the griddle is too big, it took up most of the interior space, making the drive through window unavailable for customers. This is a bummer because Houston is really hot 100 degrees outside and I have to walk up to the window to order my burger. The good thing is that the wait was only 5 minutes. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that CASH is not acceptable, please bring your owner credit card and if you don't want to wait you can order online before arriving.

The burger was delicious. The guy that was working the evening I went was so nice and helpful because I had never been to this place before. I also got all the different kinds of fries and they were all delicious. The hot fries are actually pretty hot! So yummy!

Customer service was 5 star! We liked the design of this place and the food looked good and we were not let down! Burger was amazing and the ranch fries were also delicious. Everything fresh and fries were very crispy! Make sure to get a smack sauce to dip your fries in!!!

I got the hotline burger and it was juicy and delicious! Not a messy burger, it holds well. The buns were toasted but still soft enough where it melts in your mouth. Great service and fast!

I got a hamburger from here that was delicious and the service was great as well. I am a California Native and was out here visiting and found this place on yelp. Because I was in the mood for a good hamburger. I definitely found it here. I recommend the Spicy Jalapeno burger and the spicy fries hands down.

Awesome place to stop by for a quick easy and satisfying combo meal - we got a patty melt and smack fries and they have options for beverages as well. Service is excellent - very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed like condiments and extra wares. Style points on the retro menu and name. A few tables outside to eat and hang out at - no indoor seating as the entire inside is devoted to churning out fresh to made smash burgers. Check this place out!

This place is not only convenient since it was right next to work but it also had very good food, straight up slayed my taste buds. Patty melt with the fries sent me to the lord above with that explosion of flavor!
