Newly opened hot pot place. We went around 7pm and while the area was quiet, the restaurant was full. Ordered the set for two — good value for SF. Fresh meat, lighter and not greasy. The crispy pork was great. Self-serve sauce bar, snacks available, and complimentary coconut jelly at the end. Would come back.

Really nice attentive service! The meat and vegetables are high quality and fresh. There is an excellent sauce bar with tons of options and extras. The coconut dessert is amazing. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Had such an amazing experience at Hotpot Bay! The quality of the beef and other meats is seriously top-tier — super fresh, tender, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered tasted delicious, and you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The customer service was also outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. And the best surprise — we won a big prize from their drawing… a huge Labubu! That totally made our night even more special and fun. Great food, great service, and such a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend if you love good hot pot and premium beef. We’ll definitely be back! 🔥🍲

Fantastic new restaurant! The food was all fresh and delicious! My new favorite hotpot spot in SF! Parking wasn’t bad and the service was excellent!

As someone who doesn't overindulge but also hates leaving hungry, hotpot can be hit or miss. That being said, I've never left HPB hungry. The combo for 2 is perfect for my partner and I, and you can select 3 plates of wagyu beef if you wanted to. The meat quality is great, especially for the price ($78 for the combo, 3 dishes, as of 03-2026). The veggies and other side dishes are fresh and equally delicious. The green peppercorn and tomyum broths were our favorites. Their sauce bar also has everything you need, including some free rotating cold dishes, and even sweet brown sugar jelly to cool your palate after the meal. For their soft opening, they've also been gifting really delicious coconut jelly that comes in an entire coconut. It's a dessert worth trying, even if it's not free in the future. And the crispy pork appetizer is really really good. Everything has been really clean on both of our visits and service is outstanding. The owner and servers are welcoming, accommodating, responsive, and overall create a great atmosphere for a comforting hotpot experience. Really nice people. Ambiance is great. There's music, but it's not too loud, there are multiple TVs on the walls playing basketball games, and also aren't too loud. We were also a big fan of the warm lighting and comfy booths we usually sit at. It's a great place to be able to just sit and eat, or, to bring friends and be able to hear yourselves talk and have a conversation. Great vibes. I really hope this place succeeds and stays around for a long time. Already a big fan of HPB! Come try them before they get too busy.

Food is great and tasty. Stuffs are very nice and did not disturb us when we were eating and talking. We received free coconut pudding as it’s soft opening.

Amazing hot pot experience! This place is a hidden gem for hot pot lovers. The broth flavors are rich, authentic, and well-balanced -- you can really taste the quality. The ingredients are super fresh, especially the meats and vegetables, and the portion sizes are very generous. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly, attentive, and happy to explain the menu if it's your first time. Service was fast even during busy hours. You can tell there's new ownership putting a lot of care into the food and customer experience. Definitely one of the best hot pot spots in the area. Highly recommended -- we'll be back for sure!

Stopped by again recently and really enjoyed the experience. You can tell the food quality has improved -- the broth is flavorful and the ingredients taste fresh. The place feels clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Service was smooth, and everything felt well organized. If it's been a while since your last visit, it's worth checking out again. I'll definitely be back.

This is the third time I've been to Hot Pot Bay since they opened in December! The meats and seafood are always fresh and delicious- the sauce selection is satisfying with extra side dishes like edamame, chicken feet, cucumber salad, and Chinese donut. I mentioned it was my birthday today and asked if there were any specials - the manager came over and offered us an extra portion of Wagyu beef! It was very generous especially as this was not an advertised special. The space is very clean and open and inviting. It is not too loud in there despite music and TVs on. The staff are very attentive and friendly and speak English and Cantonese and Mandarin.

[Taste: ] You can taste the quality in the beef AND in the broth. The sauce bar selection was very impressive (recommend their mushroom & ponzu sauce!) Good selection of sides that you can also add in à la carte. Very consistent taste both times I dined here. The coconut pudding was also show-stopping coming from someone who doesn't like coconut! [Service: ] So attentive & gave us extra coconut desserts at the end! Our server jack was particularly attentive. [Comments: ] You definitely get what you pay for and more! Usually hotpot places put so much MSG I am chugging water afterwards. BUT what amazed me the most was that I was not thirsty at all after dining here! [Bathroom: ] Yes

We tried HPB shortly after the grand opening. We ordered the build a bay combo which came with two meats and some side dishes. The Wagyu beef meat cuts (short rib and chuck) were both delicious and high quality / fresh, and the portions were filling for two hungry people - bear in mind that this place isn't AYCE and that you're paying for quality. The veggie assortment was also good and came with choice of noodle or rice. I appreciated that the spicy Szechuan soup was actually spicy, and that the sauce bar was clean and well stocked. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. Since we came close to the grand opening, they were still running a 15% discount special and $1 draft beers. We'll be back!

I love a good hotpot and am always on the hunt for one in the city. Hotpot Bay is a new spot on Taraval that everyone should be flocking to! Ordering was easy. Get the combo so you get a little of everything. I tried the meat-a-bay combo since I was feeling carnivorous and greatly enjoyed the boneless beef short ribs and beef chuck eye roll. The lamb was a bit too gamey for me here. You also get an assortment of fresh veggies and two choices of noodles. Plenty for two very hungry adults. The sauce bar was fully stocked with all the toppings and sauces one can imagine. I did think the layout of the sauce bar was a bit awkward and limited 1-2 people at most to comfortably access the different sauces at the same time. Service was prompt and great. I'm definitely making this my go to hotpot place now!

Individual Hot Pots, Excellent meats and a focused menu with just about all of the essentials you normally find at a Chinese Hot Pot Place. Inside you'll find a bright modern cozy interior with bench/table seating around each hot pot table of 4 hot pots per table. It's an energetic happy vibe here. There are many screens along the upper walls silently displaying the latest ESPN/Warriors coverage so sports fans don't miss out on anything! Electronic dance music playing somewhat gently over the speakers. This used to be the original location of Fiery Hot Pot, which was our go-to place for many years, but since they moved to a larger location over on Irving, Hotpot Bay has now taken up the baton back here on this quiet block of Taraval St between 26th and 27th Avenues. The menu here kicks off with a decision to make - order stuff ala carte, or run with their set menu combos which are good for party sizes divisible by 2, with an individual single-person combo menu for $35. We went ala carte, and for us, the price turned out around the same anyways with 2 plates of meat, shrimp paste and a ton of veggies and a plate of noodles or two. The meat plates were big, fresh and had the right ratio of fat to meat and were certainly way more than enough for moderate eaters. (5/5) Udon was good too. (4/5( Shrimp paste wasn't bad, but we've had better on that one. (3.9/5) We all enjoyed our different soups - mushroom, tomato or miso for us, though I wish there were more choices of mushrooms. Pro tip: When cruising the condiment bar in back, the Ponzu sauce and Sesame Oil are in large jugs on the other wall! This is a solid spot for Hot Pot. I wouldn't mind coming back here.

This is a new hot pot spot that opened up on Taraval. My family came on Christmas Day, and it was fairly empty. You mark what you want on the menu with a dry erase marker, they have variety of combos for individual pots and ala carte items to choose. I like how it is individual pots here so you can customize everything to your liking. I just wish the meat was more tender, some cuts were pretty bland. My family enjoyed the coconut pudding at the end!

We got the Meat A Bay combo and it was plenty of food for two people. Portions were generous, and you can also add extra meats or sides from their a la carte menu. The tom yum broth was really flavorful, and all the meats tasted fresh. Our order came with lots of fresh veggies and meat. The sauce bar had a good variety, plus extras like cucumber salad, orange slices, and even chicken feet. The coconut dessert they gave at the end was the perfect finish to our meal. Staff was super friendly! The inside is spacious with plenty of tables.

Food was good, service was good and very comfortable seating. Will definitely go back!

I accidentally came across Hotpot Bay during the soft opening this past weekend when looking at hot pot restaurants on Yelp and was instantly reminded of my favorite hot pot place -- Mumu Hot Pot (spoiler: not related!). Mumu has discontinued their green pepper broth which was my favorite by far, but I was happy to see it available at Hotpot Bay! My friends and I came for lunch and ordered two combos (Build-A-Bay and Meat-A-Bay). There is a discount for lunch time ($62 vs $78 for dinner). If you're not interested in the sides and only want the meat and veggies, Meat-A-Bay is definitely the way to go since you get an additional platter of meat for the same price in lieu of sides. I really love the idea of a personal hot pot as I can throw in whatever I want to eat without having to accommodate for others haha. The variety of broths and sauce bar was great! It seems like they took a lot of inspiration from Mumu which I definitely don't mind since this is a great alternative! I really enjoyed the Beef Tallow and green pepper soup broths! My favorite sauces were the mushroom and green chili, but the sauce bar allows you to make the sauce combination of your dreams. My three suggestions for Hotpot Bay would be to: 1. add additional availability for sides such as fried beancurd roll which they offer as a purchasable side 2. add additional broths for those who would like a meaty soup but can't handle spice (e.g. tonkotsu) 3. change the beef belly/shortplate meat as ours was 70% fat and basically inedible :( Service was fantastic. Overall, a super solid spot and I can't wait to come back again! :)

This was my second time at Hotpot Bay, and it was even better than the first! The broths are flavorful (the spicy one is a must-try), ingredients are super fresh, and I love how customizable the dipping sauces are. Service was attentive and friendly--staff checked in often without being overbearing. The atmosphere is lively but comfortable, perfect for sharing a meal with friends. Consistency, quality, and hospitality really stand out here. Hotpot Bay is quickly becoming one of my go-to spots in town!

Went to this new hotpot place two days ago, $78 for two people combo, surprise me there is very good quality meats, fresh vegetables , free snacks and all different sauce . good services, highly recommend

Didn't realize we came to their soft opening but was so impressed! It was a full house which is a great sign. The portions are huge and the meat and vegetable quality is fantastic. We had a party of 4 and ordered 2 of the 3 meat combos which we barely finished. It's a ton of food. They have a yummy brown sugar jelly at their sauce bar. Also you must get their coconut pudding for dessert. It was so good we had to order seconds.

Amazing delicious hearty soup we had the tum yum and extra spicy broth my boys loved it a lot of food friendly nice staff clean that frozen young coconut for desert perfect will definitely come back! Great ambiance cozy, plus a salad bar with all the dressing topping spices and sauces and delicious crunchy cucumber salad

I was so full! We ordered a combo including beef, lamp, and fish. It was more than enough for two people. The ingredients were fresh and well presented and everywhere was so clean. I would definitely go back again with friends or family. This place used to be another hotpot restaurant but it changed ownership and seemed to have improved a lot. The coconut pudding gifted in the end is the best coconut dessert I've ever had---also, made in house at the restaurant. I wouldn't be surprised if they start to charge money for that cuz it's so good and healthy.

Had excellent service courtesy of Jacky. The meat was solid, and they have a good selection of Asian vegetables included with the combo. I'd say the price is reasonable for what you're getting too, but the service was what sold me and my friends. Would go again!

Food is good and space is clean and bright! Definitely not the cheapest hotpot food ever but what you pay is definitely worth it. Waiters are kind and attentive; the ponzu sauce in a pitcher with a spigot is lit!
