"The Hotsy Totsy is a San Pablo Avenue mainstay that got an update when new ownership took over the space in 2009. Despite the changes, the bar manages to keep its longtime local clientele happy while attracting new East Bay denizens to its location with well-made specialty cocktails. Besides the solid drinks, there’s shuffleboard available, and a food truck parked outside for a convenient post- or pre-drink bite." - Dianne de Guzman

"One of the best bars in the Bay Area, period. This divey spot in cute and quaint Albany is alive with retro charm, from the excellent neon sign to the low, pressed tin ceiling that glows softly in the light. Most important, the drinks are consistently excellent, with a big selection of spirits of all types." - Dianne de Guzman, Ellen Fort

The drinks are good. The taco truck outside has decent food. I feel like this is a place where you need to bring your own people as I have been here a few times alone and no one chats with me. When I stepped in Friday night I stood at the bar a full 10 min and no one approached to take my order and it wasn't packed out I literally had a seat. I ended up leaving and not ordering anything. I keep giving it a chance thinking its just a fluke but this isn't the first time. It's a cute spot but the vibe could be better.

Google
Definitely a small local place pub/bar but people were definitely friendly, drinks were big. A little dusty and could use a good deep clean and everytime I asked for a soda it was flat. Still overall if I lived in the area I would definitely stop by more to just have a drink and sit outside and enjoy. (Small intimate outdoor area)

Google
They have great bartenders and great drinks! I usually get the margaritas. Or a whiskey sour. But first, I stop at the taco truck and order my tacos, then go order my drink…then the tacos are ready the and the drink awaits me. I’m off to a great start.

Google
The atmosphere is a fun retro vibe. They play vintage soft core movies on the TV (but you can sit in a spot out of view if that bothers you). Bartenders really know their stuff, seasonal drinks are creative and delicious. There's a lot of regulars and the bar is a little small (and can get crowded on popular nights) but usually we can find a seat. They don't serve food but the taco truck next door is great and you can bring your tacos inside. There's a shuffleboard table and a lounge area in the back.

Google
Cool little bar. Different than the bars in NYC. Had fun. Good drinks. Great vibe. Taco truck outside as well.

Google
What an amazing place! I came here as a female alone but the vibe is great and welcoming! People are very friendly to talk to and they serve great cocktails. Can’t wait to try more on their seasonal menu! Oh and don’t forget the food truck!

Mel

Google
funky and cute little dive bar!

Pedro Gil

Google
Great place for mixed drinks, but not really for beer. They probably have one each of the most popular beer styles. They don't really serve food, but there's always an awesome taco truck in front in the evenings.

Yelp
We ordered tacos at the taco truck in the parking lot and quickly found shelter from the rain inside Hotsy Totsy. Wow, what a vibe inside. My partner says, "I didn't know places like this still exist." The drinks are strong, reasonably priced, and the vibes are immaculate. I would 10/10 return.

Yelp
The Hotsy Totsy apparently is the favorite watering hole for locals, and I now see why. It's a very unassuming dive bar from the exterior, but surprisingly spacious and cozy in the inside, with plenty of seating available. Went for HH on a Tuesday, and it was surprisingly packed and busy inside already. Only 1 bartender working behind the bar the whole night, but she was incredibly efficient in taking orders and dishing out drinks. And we didn't have to try to flag her down for 20mins before getting her attention. Drinks were stiff and well made, CC is accepted without minimums, and patrons of all ages were friendly to interact with. I can now see what the appeal is, and why Hotsy Totsy has been around for so long! Pro-tip: Before or after your drinking adventures, be sure to hit up the cash-only taco truck behind the bar. They serve delicious tacos for $3/ea!

Larry L.

Yelp
This place is my favorite pub. A friendly community vibe; great drinks, Taco truck on site, bartenders and all personnel make you feel at home. A varied clientele. And folks get along and have fun. I've had some great conversations at the Hotsy. Larry L.

Rachael F.

Yelp
Excellent mixed drinks they look like art. Also, don't forget the the taco truck in the parking lot.

Dawn L.

Yelp
Really cute! Looks small in the outside, but in fact is quite large on the inside!!! A lot of comfortable seating! And outside seating. The staff know their stuff and are great mixologists, so was a busy spot! They were quick to pick up dirty glasses! The drinks came out fast too! There's a taco truck outside, so some good eats! The price was medium prices! Clean restrooms. Lots of street parking!

Pauline C.

Yelp
Adorable dive bar, friendly bartenders, fantastic cocktails, with taco truck right outside! Came here around 11:30pm mostly to get some tacos for a late night snack, it was very busy, but still wasn't to hard to find a place to sit down. By the time we got our cocktails and went out to get tacos before midnight, taco truck was closed early (opens until midnight per Yelp), so this was disappointing! However, the cocktails were really great so we'll just have to come back another time a bit earlier to catch the tacos!

Jesse H.

Yelp
My kind of place. Friendly and gruff which feels like home. Bartenders are friendly and make great drinks. Love the aesthetic and feels like my home town dive.

Marcus M.

Yelp
Great place to have a drink and some VERY interesting conversation. Never a dull moment at this establishment.

Marina W.

Yelp
I was in the area for a family visit and desperately needed some alone time and a stiff drink. Enter: The Hotsy Totsy. I made a quick stop on the way home for a drink. No one talked to me except the bartender and I had a few minutes of peace and quiet to myself. Thank god. It was surprisingly busy for 3pm in the afternoon, but, hey I was there too so I guess I can't really complain too much.

Robert M.

Yelp
A time capsule of a dive bar, something I have not seen in a long while. Three of us brought our lunches from Tacos El Autlense food truck. Saw only one draft, PBRs for all, ice cold and reasonable cost. A wide selection of spirits and components for mixology. Great stop on the Lincoln Hwy.

Kyra K.

Yelp
The Hotsy Totsy is my neighborhood dive bar. My favorite taco truck, El Autlense, is also conveniently located next door. My family and I grabbed our tacos and took them to eat at the bar and have a few drinks. As a first-timer, I didn't know what to expect or order. One of the workers gave me drink recommendations and their seasonal and winter wonderland drink menu. Initially, I wanted to try a drink off of their winter wonderland menu, but they were out. I ended up ordering a Carmen Miranda off of their seasonal menu and a Una Paloma Rosa. My favorite out of the two was the Carmen Miranda--both drinks were refreshing, strong, and had a hint of fruit. For a Monday night, they were slammed and only had one bartender--but she worked her magic. This is a great local spot to check out for good drinks and friendly service. Grab some tacos next door with your drink for an even better time!

Tanya W.

Yelp
In love a good dive and this one ranks. First of all they had Cachaça which is the ingredient of some of my favorite cocktails and rarely found, even in fancier places. Secondly, they had a 70s Italian comedy on the TV instead of sports. What a refreshing change of pace! Third, there was a super popular food truck next door. I missed it before they left but I could smell the yummy flavors see the happy faces being stuffed around me so I know what I'm going to prioritize trying next time I'm there.

Thomas B.

Yelp
Carina is the bomb. Master tender mixologist. When we got there the place was jam packed. One bartender and she had a little help behind the Barb not much and she ran it like a pro. The drinks kept coming she did not stop and write down orders she remembered everything it was magic watching her work that bar. It's a really fun place to go. Yes it's a dive bar. Yes it's old timey, but I gotta tell you, you gotta love the neighborhood for supporting it. The customers there are solid gold. You've got a laugh with a sense of humor about the way that it's decorated inside it is so much fun. Very old times... old school. I keep waiting for Boggie to wander in. Another great thing about this bar is they do not serve food. So how is this great? Well it turns out they've allowed one of the best taco trucks in the entire East Bay In their parking lot and you're allowed to bring the food in. It's a win-win.

Charles B.

Yelp
Great people booze and taco truck, and the divey atmosphere is the greatest love the place excellent music and bartenders best bar in Albany more any more

Kelsey L.

Yelp
This is such a fun place! I went here for the first time around 7pm on a Friday night and it was poppin'. They decorated for Christmas and had festive Christmas-y drinks. I had the mommy's hot chocolate. Super tasty! We ordered the hot totsy after seeing the little show they put on to make it! The bar tender was super sweet and friendly, as were the patrons. Everything was reasonably priced as well. Would highly recommend this bar if you're looking for a lively place to grab a fantastic drink!

Yelp
Cute little neighborhood dive bar my buddy dragged me to. The bartender was gorgeous and sooo knowledgeable- worth coming to watch her alone.

Emmeline W.

Yelp
I live just down the block from here... For better or for worse :') Nothing but good things to say about this little local bar. There's a real focus on the people here, which can be hard to find. Everyone from the security guard to the bartender to the regulars was so fun and kind. The people (and cocktails...!!) really won us over. For COVID safety purposes, some staff wear masks and hand sanitizer is readily available. We happened by for a quick drink to round off our bar-hopping night; would have ever expected to have such a good time. Ngl, the outside is pretty... Interesting. It's a unassuming black cube of a standalone building next to the Jehovah's Witness taco truck, advertised by their winking neon sign. There's no doubt that Hotsy Totsy has been a neighborhood cornerstone for some years now, the appearance is pretty divey and vintage. Drinks are great. The bartenders are exceptionally good-- it's stiff competition whether Club Mallard or Hotsy Totsy has the better specialty cocktails. There's a huge shuffleboard along the wall that I realize serves as an easy conversation piece-- it was immediately apparent to others that we were first timers at this bar. Folks chatted with us within 10 mins of being there-- we were so awed by the warm welcome and fun chats that ensued. You would never have a reason to stay glued to your phone here. Definitely coming back; hope to keep the spirit of Hotsy Totsy alive and offer the same warm welcome to other newcomers.

Yelp
Edited, as to provide more detail. Its ok here, the drinks were good and at at 12-14.00 price point. I enjoyed their holiday cocktails. The thing that surprised me the most was the employee that demanded 40.00 when my friend threw up in the bathroom. I'll be the first to admit that when someone pukes it sucks, I gave the male employee 15.00 because I get it. To be clear I did not throw up in the bathroom, I was not even aware it occurred. I was like 3-4 drinks in and someone mentioned it. At this point I think I was trying to ease the tension I felt in the room, was my mistake, no ask was made at that point. He waited until we escorted our friend out to the car, about 30 mins after the incident, and demanded 40.00 for a cleaning fee. I was caught off guard. We had a large group with us so I still wasn't sure why he personally asked me. She drank a lot, the bar and the bartenders appreciated our business and our tips, and mistakes happen. I've had to edit the review as a response to the owner and the some employees reaching out implying that I'm entitled, and way worse. They knew what time we came through and have been quite specific with their comments. I honestly am the last to leave a shitty review and appreciate local businesses. I appreciate people in the service industry, but to imply that I'm responsible when I go out with a large group. I discussed it with the group, and some of my other friends that have visited here as well, their opinion was because I offered up the 15 to begin with is why he asked me for more, and most people don't carry cash, makes sense. I just was surprised when he showed up behind us across the street by another member of our group's car. Apparently, based on the feedback from the staff, it's quite common to ask for a cleaning fee, I've never experienced this. I did see a sign once at a restaurant with bottomless brunch. So do with this review what you will, if this is in line with your expectations than ignore this review.

Yelp
Perfect what I like to call dad bar, but others might call a dive bar. I've been here on Tuesdays afternoons around 3 and am always welcomed by a bunch friendly older men who have been there some how before the bar opened. Drinks are good, affordable and there is a lot of selection. They have some amazing art on the walls and the music skews 50s/60s/70s.

SR W.

Yelp
This is one of the smallest neighborhood bars in the Eastbay, but it has the foolish crowd of great people in Great COCKTAILS. For late night drink or afternoon cocktail it's a great place plus they have a great Taco Truck!

John T.

Yelp
I have read many reviews about Hotsy Totsy, they seem petty and childish however mine is not. This establishment is an embarrassment to our country. After being told what I could and could not say in that place I will not forget this. I wouldn't piss on this place if it was on fire. T.Toler

Misha C.

Yelp
I am not usually one to write reviews, but I came here for drinks the other night and overheard who I believe was the owner, a white person, saying the n word. This is racist and absolutely unacceptable. It made me extremely uncomfortable and I am sure would make many others feel this way as well. I want to warn future patrons that this is not be a safe space for people of color. I will not be returning.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at this bar. On November 23 around 9 PM, my husband and his friend went there. My husband unfortunately grabbed his expired passport by mistake, which looks utterly identical to his new one (we are from a foreign country and don't have local IDs yet). He was stopped at the entrance, which is fair because ID is required by law. He didn't argue, didn't try to get inside. He called me, and I brought him his ID. This is his mistake; understandably, he wasn't allowed inside. The employee at the entrance with long light hair in a black hat (unfortunately, they refused to give me their name) told my husband: "Why do you walk around with expired ID? This is fucking weird," and other not-very-nice things despite his attempts to explain the situation. Then they said they would have to stamp his forehead so he could get in. When my husband refused, they insisted and tried to reach his forehead. My husband got very stressed from this whole situation. Eventually, they stamped his wrist. Then, the employee addressed me, asking if I knew this guy. I said he was my husband. They replied: "I'm sorry about that," and it didn't sound so nice to me. I told her not to say this thing because he is a great person. They said, "He has no sense of humor. He is fucking weird". Then they said, "Ok, give me your fucking wrist". I think this person insulted my husband and me and addressed us rudely and unacceptably. They had no right to give personal critical remarks about a person they just met and refer to a part of my body as "fucking". Trying to stamp a customer's forehead is also not a funny joke. Maybe it was meant as a joke, but we didn't perceive it as such, and they should have stopped immediately when they saw that the customer didn't like it. I consider this to be insulting. I asked them for their name and if I could talk to someone about this situation. They refused. They seemed pretty drunk. I approached a different bartender at the bar and asked to speak with the manager. They refused, and the employee from the entrance came to me and started yelling at me, using the word "fucking" way more than needed and accusing me of having no sense of humor and having a problem and advising me to "lighten up because it's holidays". The second employee confirmed they yelled and apologized, admitting they can be rude. (So other staff is aware of the situation). We left immediatedly after that. I hope the bar can address this situation.

Daniel M.

Yelp
This place is amazing! We always make a point to go here when we go out. Very busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Perfect on a Sunday.

Craig G.

Yelp
What's not to like about a dive bar with a bit of pizazz? Yeah locals, hipsters, foodies, hangers and hucksters all congregate over varies libations concocted with flair and drama by the lady bar keeps. Not a big spot, which makes it intimate and difficult not to strike up conversations. Ah if you like to wallow in your drink by yourself closed off to life contemplating your miserable lot... don't come here. It's impossible not to smile, laugh, high five, and even get hugs and hand shakes from folks lubricated with love for all. Yep there are regulars and cliques of small mobs who try hard to retreat into their own isolated worlds. But too much bumping, jostling "excuse me", and "sorry trying to get through" to melt the faux wall of ice they try to perpetuate. I guess being an A hole is not cool or tolerated here. With PBR on tap... and an endless flurry of shaken, stirred and frothed adult concoctions; a killer taco truck literally next door (cash only) to slow down the effects a bit, this is the late night groove for many east bay locals who want to get their drank on.

Ed U.

Yelp
Who do you think you are, some hotsy totsy? I don't think you have to be a hotsy totsy to come here, not even a totsy. Just somebody with seven bucks and an ID because that's what it cost me to order a Maker's Mark with Ginger (photo: http://bit.ly/2HEpYpT). Jamie W. and I sauntered in here on a Sunday afternoon when we were looking to, how do I put this...tie one on? Hey, sometimes you just need to patronize a hole-in-the-wall surrounded by other kindred spirits and paintings of naked women (photo: http://bit.ly/2YONAOk). And there's shuffleboard. What's not to love, you hotsy totsy. DRINKS - 4 stars...good price for a well drink well turned AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...divey without being dicey SERVICE- 4 stars...they don't water down the drinks TOTAL - 4 stars...you should be such a hotsy totsy RELATED - Looking for libations? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2YJ1IbU

Yelp
If you're looking for a friendly dive bar, this is a great little place in the neighborhood. You can get anything you want here. Craft cocktails, beer, simple cocktails and they all taste. There's even a long shuffle board game.

Mario G.

Yelp
Waited way too long to be served. I asked the white woman bartender if I was standing at the wrong spot to be served, so should I move and stand at another spot. She said yes. She turned around, to mix a drink, talking to another person next to her and was even dancing at one point. I kept my cool. Another girl (black) who I thought was a bar back with another guy (they were busy restocking their bottles) finally turned around and asked if I was ready to order. I said I've been standing here more than ten minutes, So yes, I've been ready to order. Someone told me they have to know you to get served in a timely manner. Well, they're not going to know me for sure.

Cheryl C.

Yelp
My husband and I came here Sun evening for a few beers, and to play Shuffleboard. We were rather surprised when the bartender asked us for our vaccine cards, since we haven't had to show them in quite sometime. Unfortunately the shuffleboard table was already full, which was probably for the best since we were the only ones wearing masks. We sat in the back room, and enjoyed our Racer 5 beers, and hung out. This is definitely a "hole in the wall", but everyone was friendly.

Alicia T.

Yelp
Went here Halloween night and the vibes were festive and chill. Their old-fashioned is strong and delish as it should be. Service was straight up, no frills, as a dive bar is entitled to be. Prices were appropriate. Had a great time, would come back again when in Richmond. Also taco truck outside!!!

Jess L.

Yelp
Got a quick drink with an out-of-town friend based on the recommendation of an in-town friend. I can see why she recommended it! Definitely dive-y but certainly local with a chill atmosphere. Feels like a "homey" and welcoming bar. Joe B got the You Down with AOC? cocktail ($11), which tasted like juice. Not in a bad way. But in the way where you know it's going to go down easy. Unfortunately, I was accidentally served alcoholic beer when I asked for non-alcoholic. The bartender was at first incredulous, then surprised, then super apologetic. (Turns out their whole recent shipment was the wrong type of beer, whoops!) She quickly righted the wrong and made me a custom "fruity but fun" non-alchoolic cocktail, which had a bit of chili in it and was quite unique and tasty. She comped it, too, which was definitely a nice gesture. If I lived closer by, I'd definitely visit regularly. I know it!

Natasha L.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! The staff are crazy knowledgeable, the cocktails are delicious, and there's a wonderful comfortable homey vibe that other bars just don't have. Everyone here is always having a great time, and if you haven't stopped by, I highly recommend it. You can't find a better and more lively, fun, or welcoming spot in the Bay Area, honestly. I especially love the work and care and passion that go on behind the bar here -- you can't replicate it. These people are simply the best.

Shayla B.

Yelp
Oh, you wanna get a lil' Hotsy Totsy, eh? Well, DOOOO IT! Come to Hotsy Totsy and get down with the best of them! After accidentally checking into this place once in the past while in the city, I finally got to check in for real this time! After going to karaoke, a few friends and I decided to walk down the street to Hotsy Totsy. My friends are locals and live right down the street, so I decided to trust their judgment and tag along. It's located in the quaint little city of Albany right off of San Pablo Ave. Before we even went in, the smell of tacos hit our faces and we headed to the taco truck next door. I was working off of a full belly of Venezuelan food and really wasn't hungry at all... but... but... but it was TACOS! I'm just gonna say that my friends made me have one... and it was SO GOOD! That's a review for another day... After hitting up the taco truck, we made our way into the bar. I absolutely loved the vibe here! It was dark and mysterious with a glowing bar and some great tunes were playing in the background. It's a mix between a dive and lounge but I can't quite call it either one. They had a TV playing an old school movie... and I'm talkin' retro, maybe the 1950's? They have a shuffleboard which was being occupied at the time. The bar area itself was packed for a Thursday night. The bar style had a very old time saloonish feel to it, kind of like the movie that it was playing. Their specialty cocktail list is quite extensive! Everything sounded amazing! I'm not a huge fan of Rum and usually go for clear liquor, but my friend's drink just looked so sexy! I asked her what she was having and she told me that it was called "A Pirate's Life For Me" which was consisted of hot buttered rum, ginger, walnut bitters, orgeat, oatmeal stout, and salted whipped cream. I followed suit and decided to grab one for myself. Mmmm, this drink was just as good as it sounded! It was warm, buttery, and sweet. The salted whipped cream was my favorite part and was the perfect added touch! The male bartender was pretty friendly but the female bartender kind of ignored us. Not sure if she was just really busy or what, but I'm glad that we were able to still get helped. We sat in the next room which was more of a lounge area with comfortable black leather sofas and a table set in the middle. There was a TV hanging down and an adorable vintage jukebox on the corner. The light fixture in this room was a sight for sore eyes as well... just stunning! I can see this place getting packed for happy hour and during the games with all of the locals in the area. When we went back into the lounge room it was pretty empty, but people started to fill the room as the night went on. I really like that you can bring the tacos into the bar area as well since the bar doesn't serve food. I'm not usually in this area too often, but it's nice to know that there's a cool little bar that I can chill at when I do come out this way. Hotsy Totsy is definitely a great little neighborhood bar!

Peg S.

Yelp
Excellent and creative cocktails + five stars for a name that just rolls off your tongue. I will be saying "Let's go to Hotsy Totsy!" as much as possible.

Shirene B.

Yelp
I've been to Hotsy Totsy twice and must say it has the things I like. Divey, laid back feel with delicious cocktails. They have seasonal cocktails which is always nice because you know the ingredients are fresh. Liquor selection is more on the premium side. Bartenders are pretty efficient as this place can get a little crowded. There is plenty of street parking as well as a small parking lot in the back. There's also a taco truck outside. I haven't tried the truck yet, but have heard it's good. I definitely recommend stopping by here for a drink or two while enjoying tacos and watching old movies on mute.

Joe B.

Yelp
The one dive bar you need to go to in Albany, the bartenders and staff are no filter fun and can make a dangerous cocktail. Have fun, and try not to take life to seriously. Our cocktail expert quickly came back from serving an alcoholic beer (when requested no alcohol) and they poured it out and took away all wrongly stored bottles in the fridge! Respect!

Fernando F.

Yelp
Really cool dive bar with good drinks at a really good price! All the bar tenders are super cool and knowledgeable about drinks! However at the end of the night, I ordered an Uber at 1:45am knowing that the bar closes at 2 am, but the security guard on duty tonight would not let my friends and I stand inside the bar to wait for the ride. It was freezing cold outside and would not let us wait 5 min for my Uber ride. He was rude, disrespectful, and demeaning. If it wasn't for him I would have had an otherwise great evening.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Bet small bar. Dive bar. Came here in a Saturday evening. Considering the bar is small, it appeared to be crowded. There was no place to sit. We noticed several covered drinks and empty seats. So not sure if people were actually coming back or if they had left for the night. Nonetheless, the most entertaining thing was the tampon machine in the women's bathroom. MIGHT give this place another try, but still debating.

Alex C.

Yelp
As a resident of the surrounding area myself, fuck the snowflake being put in his place by a bartender after going on a bootlicking campaign praising Trump; his mishandling of the pandemic is half the reason we can't enjoy each other's company indoors yet. This place is great. That ex-patron prick can get bent. Cheers from 6ft+, Alex

Luis M.

Yelp
Nice place, strong and flavorfull drinks, bartenders are awesome, the taco truck have amazing food too and you can eat your tacos at the bar, so perfect!

Scarlett L.

Yelp
Hotsy Totsy is an absolute neighborhood gem. I can't wait to be able to come back and have a couple of well crafted drinks in this lovely bar. I have never reviewed them before because they are so well known, but after seeing the ridiculous review from Jack D., I felt spurred on to tack on another 5 star review. If he actually lives in my neighborhood, it would be unfortunate. The kind of person who reviews a local business they went to 2 years ago, and during a pandemic when bars and restaurants are struggling to survive, I can only imagine. Be back soon Hotsy Totsy!

Yelp
Just revisited this place after taking a long hiatus and, wow, was I impressed! Non-douchey, non-pretentious, non-hipster vibe? Check Professional mixologists and bar staff? Check Exceptional, well-made, well-conceived cocktails? Triple Check. Being able to smoke and NOT have to leave your drink inside? Check Order the Figget About It, Night Boat to Caracas and the Green Goddess. All were exceptional, but the Green Goddess is something special and I am not a vodka drinker. If you want something more basic, they make a killer Pisco Sour or Whiskey Sour as well.

Yelp
I grew up in the east bay from the 70s on. As a minority, I never ever thought I'd come to the Hotsy Totsy. Fast forward a bunch of years and some friends of ours are telling us to trust them and try the place. We did, with trepidation. I was shocked after a few minutes there. Not only were the bartender and staff really cool, there was none of the bias I was afraid of and the drinks were really good too. Bonus - delicious taco truck parked on-site alllll the time. We've been back to the Hotsy Totsy a number of times and not planning on stopping...

Yelp
BEST HAPPY HOUR IN THE EASY BAY!!! Everyday til 7pm, drinks are SOOOO good. I have been a regular since college, and the greyhound and lemon drops are amazing here. DO not let the "fruit" aspect fool you, they are STRONG. Added plus, they do server some drinks in cute cocktail glasses, but most are in big ballers with big ice cubes. I am also a big fan of whisky (scotch) and they have a plethora of them: Glenlivet 15 is my go-to. What more could a person as for? You say food, well there is an amazing taco truck right next door (wait times for food can vary depending on how busy it is) AND you can bring it into the bar and drink and munch.

Yelp
I used to love coming here. Fair atmosphere great seating however after my experience 8/7/19 I will probably never come back. the bartender kicked me out because she accused me of stealing a glass when I went to the outside area to smoke. I had placed my glass in the bar while she was at the other side before I walked out. When she comes to the outside area she is already swearing accusing me of stealing the glass or giving it away which doesn't even make any sense. Neither her or the bar-back would admit to bussing the glass but these things don't just disappear out of thin air. Sure there is a camera and I wouldn't of been hard to check it but she (the bartender) decided it would be better protocol to cuss at me and tell me to leave over something that's clearly not my fault. Frankly she was rude the moment I stepped in but I was empathetic that we all have bad nights. After this though they lost a regular patron.

Yelp
I had heard about this place through some old housemates. I must say this place was pretty cool. When you walk in there is the small bar area that has some seats and a shuffle board. From there you go up a very slight staircase that has more seatings, restrooms, etc. There is also an outdoor area for those who smoke or just want some air. There is a limit before you can use a card so heads up to bring cash if you are not drinking that much. There is also music playing and I have to say they kept playing songs I liked. The TVs in the room away from the bar though where playing some weird S***....which actually was pretty cool. This place is a place to go to if you want some drinks after work and chill out with a friend or two. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
This place! We walked in to James Brown and the Fantastic Flames playing over the speaker system and Russ Meyers Cherry playing on the TV. We were immediately befriended by a guy that worked there but was bellied up to the bar on his night off ... he made us feel right at home. Great Cocktails, great beer selection, great vibe, SHUFFLEBOARD TABLE!!!! Later we met the owner who is from Boston, like myself ... that solidified it. I love you Hotsy Totsy! I hope you stay in business forever and a day!

Yelp
I've driven by this spot for years now, practically every time thinking, "Boy, I gotta check this place out!" Well, Saturday was that day! I popped in the afternoon when I had about an hour to kill. It was just as I expected - every seat taken at the bar but one, a dog milling about, and folks seemed to know each other in there. I belly up and order the special - a Pisco Sour - and HH PBR. Both impressed me, for very different reasons. 1. I have enjoyed PBR for far longer than it's been hip and prefer it from the tap. 2. That Pisco Sour was legit. So, a dive bar that can make fantastic cocktails? Yes, please! Oh - and when it came time to pay, I pull out my credit card. The whole time the power had been out but I was...I dunno - not paying attention? I thought it was just the way things were! I didn't have cash, so they pulled out the old school credit card machine complete with multi-copied check. That impressed me as well. The moral of the story is that you don't always need to carry cash into the Hotsy Totsy, but it helps. I hope to enjoy more Saturday afternoons in this joint, it's worth it.

Yelp
Love this bar. I don't get a chance to come here much, out of my neighborhood, but when I do, it's always a good time. Love the mix of clientele, young and old, hipster and normal folks, and the kitschy pornos they play on tv. The drinks are decent, don't come here if you're looking for specialty cocktails, come here for good old fashioned drinks at a good price and the taco truck outside the parking lot.

Yelp
There are many reasons why I am a fan of the Hotsy Totsy and the list is quickly growing after each time I visit. First of all, the signature drink - The Hotsy Totsy is my favorite. Yes, I make this baby at home often (without the flaming cup fire show) and loved to see it on the menu. If you have not tried a real "Hot Toddy", you should try theirs. They make it perfectly and I couldn't really ask for a better drink unless.... You've dared to try the Bourbon and Bitters cocktail. In such a dainty little glass with a strong drink that packs a sweet punch. Perfect for sipping if you are a Bourbon fan. Then there is the Hot Buttered Rum, I have wanted to have one of these for awhile and I'm sure that they make it best. The warm buttery rum drink gave me such a sweet little buzz and put a smile on my face. The place is comfy with plenty of seating areas for groups, a pool table, classic pin up art in the bathrooms and classy cocktails. Did I mention the Taco Truck?! Nope, they need their own review. I know why the HHK loves to come here, it's classic, comfy and they make great cocktails. I know I'll be back, so say Hi if you see me sipping on a Hotsy Totsy. ;)
