"The Mercury News has the latest updates on Saratoga’s House Family Vineyards, which had been illegally hosting tastings on its property for the past decade or so. The city council granted the business a temporary permit to continue while it secured the proper paperwork; it was set to expire on September 30 but has been extended for another year." - Lauren Saria

I’m so glad I stopped by here before catching my flight. It is easy to reach, and the view and wines were fantastic. Very kind staff as well, highly recommend!

Very average experience. Wine quality is average. Food option is limited to packed cheese containers. Tasting menu is red wine heavy, they just have one chardonnay option for white wine drinkers. Views and staff were nice. Generally, OK and average experience.

Although their main deck is not open the secondary deck overlooking a small valley behind the hill of Saratoga is also great! Tasted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and was impressed. No need to go to Napa in order to have some nice wine and great serene atmosphere

Google
We are frequent visitors to House Family Vineyards. Their Izumi point tasting area is amazing and always impressed with their wines and the varieties they produce. The staff is super hospitable and help make the tastings very enjoyable.

My family got to visit here for the first time as a winery. There was no place like this after leaving South Korea. There were most cafes with coffee in South Korea but here the US is different with this winery having a beautiful spot and tasting good wine, cheese, and bread for our light lunch.

Google
Alexa makes our visits so great every time we come! She explains the wines in great detail and always has a smile on her face, no matter how busy she is. The view and the wines are amazing too!

Got a late start on the day w a friend and only was able to arrive 5 minutes til their close. They were very obliging and made us feel no different. The sampling of four was quite enjoyable although maybe one more variety would have helped filled out the experience a bit more as four seemed to go by a tad quick. Each varietal was well crafted and the Merlot was a pleasant surprise. Overall solid, consistent delivery and oh, that view over the whole valley. Downtown SJ and Apple Park were clearly in sight. Great seating, too, as evidenced by all the happy clientele.

Google
It is a small, beautiful place close to downtown Saratoga. Unfortunately, the tasting room was not available and we were outside with umbrellas. The view was nice and green. Wine selection for tasting was nice and they had some interesting wine but it was a bit too hot to be outside, and a cheese plate was sold out. Service was good.

Yelp
Exceptional! My daughter who lives in San Jose picked me up from the airport and surprised me with a visit to this winery within a valley with the most beautiful view and surroundings... I was impressed with the seating, views, the great wines served and supervised with a wonderful staff. The charcuterie and cheese and personal tour of the grounds were "icing on the cake". I hope to visit again when I am in California. I Highly recommend!

Yelp
House Family Vineyard is a nice spot where you can get some decent wine with a beautiful view. Shortly after you enter the gates you'll see their hillside patio seating that affords a view of a hillside with nice houses and their personal vineyards the entrance doesn't afford any view of House's own facilities or vineyard so it almost feels like a pop up of sorts (along with portable bathrooms). $25 for a flight of five or $20 a glass so maybe worth a membership if you come often.

Yelp
Food - the charcuterie board was lackluster. There was no thought behind it. It's served in a cardboard box and crackers are given in a paper bag. Not worth the price. Definitely unfortunate you can't bring your own food. Service - we were served by one individual. I cannot remember his name but he only gave us 4 out of the 5 tastings. It took 2 members of our party asking time for the fifth tasting. They were adamant they had already given us all 5 but we were able to name all 4 of the ones we had received and the one that was missing. When he finally agreed to give it, he showed up to our table, poured the wine, and said nothing. Seems like he had no interest in selling or serving wine. Would definitely not come back. The wine was definitely not worth it. Views - 10/10

Yelp
My group of 3 wanted to do a casual and local wine tasting in South Bay and came across this spot. We made a reservation for Saturday afternoon and had no wait to get settled but learned that the seating was first come first serve for parties in the same reservation batch. There was ample parking but most of the spots were up a hill past the main seating area, so coming down was a breeze but it was a (very) mini hike back up haha. Once you check in at the "front", we were able to order what we wanted. We each got their flight and a charcuterie board to share. The flight was nicely priced ($20 for 5 wines) but the charcuterie board was underwhelming in our opinion. The presentation was just in a plastic to go box, which didn't seem to match the vibe and aesthetic of the place. Nonetheless, the variety of cheeses and meats were decent, and you get a baguette with it as well. Overall the experience was pleasant and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The view was also stunning - just wish we got to sit at a table that faced the view directly. I'd recommend this place and would come back, just wouldn't get their board again.

Yelp
Great winery overall. Beautiful view, shaded outdoor seating, charcuterie and cheese offered, great wines. Nothing bad to say aside from having to use porta potties. Depending on the weather, it can get hot since it is outdoor seating only. Flight of 5 wines for $20, 2 whites and 3 reds. Decent sized pours. Everyone thought that all 5 were good, which is rare. They don't waive tasting fees unless you become a member which is a 3 bottle purchase. Service was good. Reservations only. Parking along the side of the road

Greg H.

Yelp
We had a tasting for 4. The setting was nice, however our server was very short on wine descriptions, no extra info or wine or winery history, etc. I'm reluctant to post bad reviews, but this is an exception. the pours were almost unbelievably small. No offer to bring water to our table, ( even half way through our flight of wines) although other tables had waters poured for them. The wines were nice, service very disappointing. See the photo to see a very small pour.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my birthday - made a reservation well in advance as they are required. Was a shockingly disappointing experience. Apparently they are using a temporary location for wine tastings, yet they don't disclose this on their website or while booking a reservation. Based on the website/advertising for this winery, we were expecting a pleasant experience matching the website advertising along with all the standard amenities (such as a restroom, indoor seating options, and plates/silverware for food orders). However, when we arrived we discovered that at the temp location the wine tasting experience was "more like camping" (our servers exact words)...it was literally just some outside furniture set up outside. Below were the issues: - despite the fact that it was 50 degrees and drizzling in the middle of winter, they did not offer outside heaters (they had them out there, but our server said they have been "broken for a while"). There was also no indoor area to escape the cold, so we were literally freezing the whole time. The fact that they couldn't care to fix even just one or two of their outside heaters for guests in winter (when there are no indoor options) is really cheap on behalf of the people running this place. At the very least, they could let guests know ahead of time to bring blankets and warm clothes because we had no idea we were going to a temp location as opposed to what was advertised on their site. - we ordered a cheese plate and it literally looked like they threw cheese and some cranberries into one of those cardboard takeout boxes. There was zero presentation, and we were not given plates or cutlery. Despite this, we were charged the same as what they would charge at their regular location (with plates, presentation etc). If they are going to just throw cheese in a box and and give you a block of bread wrapped in paper (not even sliced -- we head to tear it off), then they should not charge you the same as if they were nicely plating it. - the only bathrooms they offered were Porto potties - during the entire 1.5 hour tasting, there was a very loud high pitched hum permeating the entire area. So while the view was indeed nice, the noise was almost painful to my ears and it prevented me from enjoying it. - my friend and I did not like the wines (rare for us -- we normally like at least half of the tastings) The pros: view is nice and the server was friendly. But honestly, I feel deceived and scammed. if house winery is not offering what they advertise on their site -- and instead offers a subpar "camping style" wine tasting experience-- then it's their obligation to either lower their prices or at least let guests know ahead of time so they can either prepare accordingly or decide not to go. Sadly, we wont be visiting this establishment again because it seems clear they don't care about their guests experience (small effort goes a long way).

Yelp
Gorgeous vineyard with breathtaking views. What happened?? I'd love to know when house family vineyards will open again.

Fred L.

Yelp
My wife and I have had the opportunity to go to House Family Vineyards a number of times, of which once was for a wedding. The location and the views are beautiful. There is a little walk from the parking area to the tasting area but it's not bad. There is both an outdoor and an indoor seating area. We have always sat outside to take in the view. Seating is first come first served. I would recommend that you eat before you come because their food selection is very very limited. We have had a number of their wines and the Cab and the Pinot were our favorites but overall their wines are just ok. The staff has always taken good care of us. It can get chilly depending on the time of year. They do have heat lamps but it would be wise to bring something to keep you warm just in case. This is a great spot to meet up with friends, relax and have some good conversation while taking in the view over a glass of wine or two.

Lisa L.

Yelp
This is a fantastic site to drink wines with friends. The views from their lower tasting area is lovely looking towards the Santa Cruz mountains over a lovely valley. House produces great whites and they have a nice charcuterie plate at this location. While they sort out their higher level north facing site, it's still workers a trip up here.

Kate O.

Yelp
Beautiful view and good wine, but I was disappointed to learn that a local political lobbying group is trying to shut down the winery because they think "commercial businesses such as wineries" shouldn't operate there. Lame! Thus, they are temporarily closed as of 2/11/2023. Hopefully these NIMBY assholes will let up soon, and the hugely supportive community of patrons can once again return.

Katie Y.

Yelp
Stunning views at this winery. Wines were good. Loved the charcuterie plate! Would recommend.

Yelp
If beautiful views are your thing, then House Family Vineyards has tons of them for you. There's no denying that their estate is charming. However, when it comes to their wine, they leave much to be desired. Came here for a tasting while I was in the area some time ago, and ended up having a mediocre experience overall. The drive up to the estate Is gorgeous and you'll end up walking on a pretty trail that runs alongside their vineyards on your way to the tasting room. They have a huge covered patio area that's beautiful and perfect for social distancing. Their indoor tasting room is really charming as well and resembles a large tree house. It's $20 for 4 one ounce pours, or $20 for a glass. They also serve food here as well. $20 for one glass of wine in the region is extremely pricey. I may have even considered it if I felt like the wines were good, but they tasted very acidic. They had a few different sommeliers pouring the wines at the time. Sometimes I was able to get an explanation about the wines, and other times they just poured. Although their patio is beautiful and spacious, they don't have any heat lamps. If you plan on coming during the colder months, bring a warm coat because it can get extremely windy. I'm a huge fan of Pinot Noir and they poured two of them during my tasting. I felt that both of them were extremely earthy. For Monterey wines priced at $60 a pop, the quality just didn't match up. I actually didn't enjoy any of that reds. The Chardonnay was decent but the oak was a bit too strong for my taste. I honestly didn't enjoy the wines much at all. Could have been these particular varietals, but I still feel like it was pricey for what I was given. The views are amazing but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here unless I was local.

Yelp
This winery tasting area is in a different location then it was previously, but still has beautiful views and great wine. We found them to be very accommodating, as we we made reservation for the wrong day, and they were able fit us in when we came. Very chill atmosphere, and they allow well behaved dogs, which is a plus for us. GSM was very good. Despite large group and being busy, service was good. Joined the wine club, which is reasonably priced. Would recommend

Danae L.

Yelp
I come for the atmosphere over the wine I made a reservation through Tock and the rest of my visit was very smooth. An employee guided us towards a parking spot and we followed other guests up a trail. It's a wonderful place to hang out, but not the best place to unwind peacefully since there is so many people in a small area. My bf and I ordered the wine flights. I enjoyed the sauvignon blanc very much!

Cheryl G.

Yelp
Invited here for a special occasion and had no idea what to expect. When you drive past the neighborhood hills and arrive to the property, parking is limited. So grab that first spot when you see it. Second, I repeat, don't wear the heels. There's a hike to the tasting room from the parking lot. On a summer evening, I thought I was sweaty dog from walking to and from the parking area. The view is pretty scenic overlooking Silicon Valley. Now, bear in mind I was here for a special occasion. I don't drink wine or beer. We came at 5pm and were super hungry. That was a bad idea. They only had two antipasto and cheese platters available. We nearly fought to the death to share the bread. I had water. Tables are available as is, first come. None of the servers checked in on us to ask how we're doing. We had to flag them down to get help. The bathrooms were fancy portables but they were clean. I truly appreciated this. So note to self, if you're coming here, remember you're tasting so don't come hungry. Last, don't wear cute heels unless you're prepared to hike in the dirt.

Yelp
We visited House Family Vineyards on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The grounds are beautiful and the view of Saratoga is amazing. It's so peaceful, to sit out in the sun and watch the hawks fly around high above the hills. We did a flight and we're very pleased with all of the wines, their rosé was really refreshing and their Cab was one of the lightest but still deep cabs I've tasted. My husband is new to wine and really prefers lighter wines and I can usually only get him to enjoy Pinots when it comes to red, but he enjoyed the cab here. We left with six bottles and full intentions on coming back the next time we are in the area.

Anna B.

Yelp
Beautiful winery! I loved the indoor and outdoor option and on a colder winter day, it was so cozy sitting in the area where there were tarps up. The views are incredible. The wines we tasted were delicious and the food was amazing! We got the charcuterie and pepperoni pizza. Kinoka helped us out and she was super sweet and very attentive every time we needed our next tasting. I'll definitely be back!

Andy L.

Yelp
It has been quite sometime since I have returned. However, this time I came with a small group of close friends to celebrate my birthday and enjoy the nice hot weather viewing the Silicon Valley. I want to highlight a staff member, Savannah, who went above and beyond to welcome my friends from different parts of the world as well as making my birthday special. She was attentive and able to read the room/space very well. My party and I did not have to ask or request for anything; Savannah somehow could read our minds and made the day special by making every interaction seem so effortless, natural, and genuine. I will be visiting again only if Savannah is working. Thank you Savannah!

Yelp
Never knew it existed so close to home. What a hidden gem in your backyard. Located at top of a hill in a quiet neighborhood, House Family Vineyards (HFV) provides a scenic view of Silicon Valley. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. HFV offers wine by the bottle, wine samples and various cheese plate served with homemade bread. The wine is quite good, bottles range from $48 and up. You can even bring your own food. There's plenty of seating. Very relaxed atmosphere, I could sit for hours enjoying the view. HFV is open Friday, Saturday & Sunday at selected hours. I saw parking maybe for 15-20 cars. Maybe more parking in back. Great place to bring friends & family to enjoy local winery with a great view.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
OMG the views from their hillside tasting area with cozy spots overlooking the south bay. It's a small location and feels intimate. Bring a date or come with friends to enjoy one of the best kept secrets in town. I just hope they open up again, as they've been closed to the public since spring 2022.

Wendy N.

Yelp
Be ready for: Long windy drive up the hill. Rough walk from parking lot to patio. Poor service. Barely a few snacks offered. First come first served seating. Member reservations only. Outhouse bathrooms. AND FINALLY on the positive side - breathtaking views!

Matt L.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! I one thousand percent would come back, and I highly recommend it. The location is not so bad, located in the hills in Los Gatos. Not a horribly scary drive or anything, though. The views are GORGEOUS. Absolutely stunning. Really excellent place to spend time with family or friends. They have covered seating as well as open seating along the perimeter of the tasting area. You can make reservations, which I recommend as it was quite packed. The wine itself was good. I considered purchasing a membership, but I wasn't quite sold based on the wine itself. That aside, it Was good and enjoyable. I did a tasting with my friend's membership, so it was well worth it in that sense. Under our reservation, we had a great corner table with a firepit under the covered area of their seating. It was a really beautiful place. The chairs were comfy, the fire was so warming and soothing, and the views, again, were incredible.

Yelp
This is cute boutique winery that's up in the hills of Saratoga. I knew there were a couple of wineries in the area such as Picchetti and Ridge, but I have actually never been to House Family Vineyards and didn't realize how popular the place was. Upon arriving the winery, there is a staff who will help direct traffic and signal you where to park, which is pretty nice. Although I think they ask you to back into the spot on a hill, so be prepared! It might be slightly challenging for those who don't usually back into parking spots. Once you parked, there's a nice walk to the tasting room which takes about 3-5min. It's a bit hilly so I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes otherwise it may be slightly difficult to walk. Once you arrive to the tasting room, there is a staff who will greet you and ask if it's your first time. I already had friends who arrived earlier, so the staff just let me in. In general, it seems like a lot of their staffs are really young (maybe nearby high school students?), but they are all pretty friendly and nice. There is a nice indoor and outdoor seating available at this winery. However, since it's not a huge place, it can get pretty crowded very quickly, so be prepared if are planning to go on a weekend (especially afternoon). We arrived around 1pm and it wasn't super busy, but by 3pm the winery was pretty packed. The wines are pretty good here. However, I think wines can be pretty subjective and different people have different tastes, so I think people will have to make their own judgements about the wines. The cool part was that we were able to meet with the winemaker Jim. If you spend some time to talk to him, you'll really be able to see his passion and dedication to the arts. He is also extremely knowledgable about wines. Overall, this place is a cozy and laid-back winery that has a great view of the Bay Area, so I would recommend checking it out if you've never been!

Stacey L.

Yelp
What a gem in the South Bay, and not even very far up a windy road from the main Saratoga-Sunnyvale road. The ambiance and views of Silicon Valley are amazing and I love that you can bring your own snacks and charcuterie items. We requested a few small tastings of several reds and the chardonnay and at the end opted to split a bottle of Chardonnay between the 3 of us. Alec was amazingly patient and friendly with our requests! I must say that none of the wines blew me away and if you come here expecting world-class wine, you probably will be disappointed. If you come for the experience, you'll be happy with your day. A note to all the reviews and comments about the far walk from the parking lot to the tasting room/outdoor seating area: it's not too far at all and is definitely well-paved. There's railing if you really feel like you need to hold onto it. And to the people who think it's so dangerous to walk "far" after a few hours of drinking... I'll leave it at that.

Katherine N.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my experience at House Family Vineyards. I'm happy I found a great local place for some good wine. $20 for 5 tastings-- their sauvignon blanc was perfectly crisp and cool for a hot summer picnic. I'm a red wine girl so I also loved their light pinot (both offered in the $20 tasting). I recommend arriving right when they open if you're going on a weekend and don't have reservations (they open at 12pm). The place gets pretty packed and their best tables that overlook the city are always booked up. If you come early enough, you can still grab one of the walk-in tables that are available on the side that still overlook the view! They sell small snacks there but they also allow you to bring your own picnic foods. I love this so I can save some $$ bringing my own snacks and also still enjoy my favorite foods rather than buying it from the winery. Highly recommend for a great local spot & I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
We joined House on our first visit and have enjoyed many subsequent trips to their scenic wine tasting room. The first several times we were there seemed to be winter and stormy. Still nice! They have a cozy inside area and an outdoor fire pit if it's not raining. But the area shows off in the warmer months when a glass of their exceptional wine compliments the view that takes in all of Silicon Valley! Regarding the wine, we like it all. In warmer months they have a tasty Chardonnay that pairs great with a picnic on their patio. Last visit we, being wine club members got to taste the rose, new to us. Nice fruit but dry, we all enjoyed that and several bottles were purchased by our group.

Jozza M.

Yelp
The place was amazing it's so close to home in Saratoga and it's not that bad of a drive it's not too windy to go up there however the parking situation is a little messy but with a little help of our parking people it made it somewhat manageable. It was my first time coming in here with my best friend and we happen to pick the day they had a graduation event so it was soooo packed! But so worth the wait. The weather was perfect the view was gorgeous! I love the little pathway of grapevines leading up to the actual winery on top of a hill and it's like a tent field setting with umbrellas and there is a dining area if you would like to eat but otherwise feel free to bring your own snacks and food. We got a bottle of Pinot and the price wasn't bad considering a 2016 wine. They have 3 restrooms and they were fairly clean! One of my biggest nightmares are portable potty's. But this winery had an actually restroom with a toilet and a sink. I love it!! Customer service was great! I'm definitely coming back

Lin S.

Yelp
House Family Vineyards was our second stop to celebrate my friend's belated birthday. I had heard raving reviews from a colleague about how epic the views were. So much so that he wouldn't reveal the location to me until a few weeks later! I'd love to keep House Family Vineyards a secret, too since it's not too crowded and the ambience is great, BUUTTTT sharing is caring!!! Here goes my two cents! I came on a Saturday and there was a good amount of people at the winery, but I didn't feel like it was too crowded. The views of the South Bay are indeed EPIC. I sat in the chairs and had a table (in the dirt area) and enjoyed wine with my friends. We had did a tasting of five wines. I am okay with the wines and this is only because I have a different palette, but you might favor it! I came here for the views and a relaxing time and House Family Vineyards delivered. There are many tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your wine in an area with overhead covering to protect you from the rain if needed. The place has a communal feeling to it, which is great. I love the sparkly lights they used for decoration. I'm like a moth! Lights attract me and make me feel cozy, so this added to the chill ambience. I'm sure you will love this place, too! I'll be back!

Melissa L.

Yelp
Love this place! It's a great open space for a day out with friends, family, and/or significant other. Oh and furry friend...they allow dogs! It can get chilly with the winds but there's also outdoor heat lamps. Lots of outdoor seating with chairs you can move around. Great views of the city. Indoor seating as well...well it's an open, covered indoor seating space. They let you bring your own picnic so people will bring baskets with cheese, food, cutlery, etc which is awesome especially since their cheese/food selection is super limited. Wines were good. Sometimes we just grab a bottle vs a single glass or tasting as it's the best bang for buck. Glass would have been $15 or tasting for I believe $12 or $15 but the bottle of rose was $30 so great deal. Not sure if they rotate around which bottles are that price or if it's always constant for same kinds. I would have given it 5 stars but the lack of food and cheese options at a decent price. I'll remember to bring my own next time. Overall had a great time and will be coming back!

Josh M.

Yelp
I have been trying to figure out how to taste at this winery for several years and I still have no idea how to taste their wines. A few years back, pre-COVID, I looked into tastings and their website said to come in during business hours for a tasting. My wife and I drove up only to be turned away at the gate because they were at capacity. A few years later(today) I wanted to try again. After visiting their website two weeks ago, where every tasting booking link shows "members only", I submitted their "tasting request" form AND emailed their information email address requesting a tasting for today, 11/12, which their website showed had many open tasting slots. I never heard back from either of my requests. I am just at a loss for how anyone can decide to become a wine club member if there is no clear way to get in to actually try their wines.

Kayla U.

Yelp
House Family Vineyards is my first time at a Vineyard and it really set the bar. A wonderful local spot, set in the Saratoga mountains House Family Vineyard has an absolutely gorgeous view of the Silicon Valley(definitely come on a clear day!) It was quite busy, but we still managed to find two chairs right on the view overlooking the vineyard. Staff was friendly when ordering. The cheeseplate and bread was okay - but the other food looked great and I'd like to give it a try. Wine was also good - I forget what we ordered but we endes up finishing the bottle. To get to the tasting area it is a bit of a little walk, not sure what the accomadations are if someone is handicapped or unable to walk uphill - something to note and ask about if you plan on visiting!! Would love to gather all my girlfriends and come when the weather is a bit warmer :)

Katie R.

Yelp
Talk about a view! So pretty, you can see everything in the valley. The walk to the tasting room it really pretty, but you definitely should go prepared to walk. Good range of wines on the tasting menu, not the best wines I've had. Most were good but nothing really stood out as being amazing. All glasses of wine are $18 which is a little pricey for the quality, but again you're paying for the view. Tasting room is kind of small but there is ample seating which is nice and some of the best/nicest winery bathrooms I've ever seen. I would definitely go back here but not quality enough wine to join the club.

Murali S.

Yelp
Stellar views, cozy ambience and kind staff. This was perfect for valentine getaway, if you are in South Bay, this is a perfect 15 mins drive. I didn't have high expectations of their wine, so this place isn't for that in my humble opinion. But the reasonably priced tasting flight, support for bring your snacks, and amazing views makes it a worthy visit. You should be able to get your time and moneys worth. We went in the middle of the day on Friday, it was less crowded and has options to pick our seats. I believe evening and weekends get busier. Their Syrah was better than Pinot noir and Chardonnay.

Glen N.

Yelp
Great wines, service, and ambiance... it's a top-notch wine-tasting experience, and a great place to bring out-of-town guests. Best of all, the AMBIANCE is spectacular. Once you make it to the top, you have an outdoor facility with a tiny bar, rows of hightop tables, and an open area with picnic lounge furniture overlooking a stellar view of San Jose, a view that none of the posted photographs here can adequately capture. The area manages to be rustic and casual (cornhole) with class. Warning: the path you must take to get to the tasting room area is the longest and steepest I have ever encountered. I am dead serious when I say the trail to the base of Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite is easier than this one. That said, it's clean, well-kept, with lamps, and vines full of grapes on both sides. The ambiance is so nice that the wines could suck, but they don't. The WINES on the tasting menu (and a double secret pour of rose) were all delicious. The rose of grenache (on sale for limited time) was one of the most drinkable and light. The reds were somehow lean, which I like, but they had some grip. Not a fan of chardonnay, theirs was not horrible. The SERVERS were all super friendly, going out of the way to discuss restaurants in the area, and they were very knowledgeable. One was so knowledgable he was like Rainman. I guess you could say he was a Rhoneman.

Yelp
My friends and I came here on a Saturday to check out their wine tasting ($18). We had their Chardonnay, GSM, Cabernet, and Paso Robles. They were all great but if I have to rate them from my favorite to my least favorite it would something like this: 1. Cabernet (very rice and flavor) 2. Chardonnay (sweet and refreshing) 2. Paso Robles (light and fruity) 3. GSM (very light) It was my first time visiting and I really enjoyed it, especially the view. It's a good place to hang out and relax while enjoying some delicious wine with your friends and family!

Yelp
I did not know that such a place existed so close to where we live! This is on our list of regular places to go to now. We heard about it since a friend threw a birthday there. It is an incredibly beautiful location with stunning views of the valley. The wine was just OK but the overall experience is great. Get a cheese plate, some vino and sit outside, enjoy the views and be grateful.

Yelp
So glad they are operating so well during the COVID. The folks out there are super friendly and helpful. All safety measures have been taken. Collection of wine is fine but I would say it's worth it for the view they provide along.

Yelp
First of all I'd like to make a huge shout out to Jim Cargill, Nick, and Kaitlyn for giving me a great experience here. They all make a great team and treat their guests like family. It's one of the best experiences I've had for wine tasting. EVER. I've never heard of this place until my bro-in-law showed me. I had an amazing time from beginning to end. The drive and walk to the shop was fabulous! I loved walking through the vineyard and the "mini trail" towards the end. This shop is located on top of a hill where guests can take-in spectacular views of the Bay Area. The nature mixed with the cities is a thing of beauty. There are outdoor seatings as well as a long community table and a beautiful large couch for lounging. There is plenty of shade to go around so no need to worry. In addition, their inside living room space is AMAZING!! great bar stool seating and lounge seating all over. This place gives off a warm & cozy feel or a cool refreshing one. Either or, you'll enjoy the atmosphere. We enjoyed a 5-Flight wine selection for $10 each. It all started with the base of two Chardonnays, Pinot, Merlot, and their Cab. All were great tasting! I enjoyed their Pinots and one of their Chardonnays the most. I definitely recommend this place to the community and for the people all over. This needs more attention. This is one of the best experiences and wine atmospheres in the Bay Area for sure, if not, THE BEST in the South Bay. I will come back to host events, take a date, or even have a nice picnic with my family & friends up here. This is my next favorite top spots for the year. I will come back soon!

Yelp
We've been going to House Family Vineyards for several years. Instead of driving several hours to get to a vineyard in Napa Valley, you can see the most incredible view just minutes from Silicon Valley. The view is spectacular. The wines are amazing, - and on the weekends the food is delicious with a setting like no other. Pre-Sheltering in Place they typically have a band playing while you sip and savor the ambience. Whenever we have out-of-town guests we always bring them up here and they always leave wanting to come back. What a great legacy House Family has created!

Yelp
It was such a pleasure to spend a Sunday morning on this beautiful vinery. They are open for outdoor seating, masks and social distancing required. Reservation fee is $10 a person, and prices on a menu were a bit above average (a glass of wine $18-20, and it is not a generous pour) but the view and the ambience is totally worth it.

Yelp
DAY: - Went on a Saturday around 12:30PM with a group of 4 girls. PARKING: - Their parking seems limited but it my friends that came late found parking so I think it isn't as big of a deal as I thought it may be. When I got there it was closer to when they open (12PM) so I got one of the spots to back into and there was an employee assisting with the parking, which was nice. LOCATION: - The actual tasting room is a little walk from the parking lot. There is only one path to get there so you shouldn't get lost. The tasting room is a open area with a bar and seating area. There is also seating in "patio" area which is really nice seating with variety of seating choices. There are trees and patio umbrellas for shades. The seating have a great view since it is on a mountain top. I would definitely come back again, but next time I think I will make reservations just so I don't have to stress to have a place for my friends and I. ORDER: - We decided to start off with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and also got the Pinot Noir. They were both tasty and we have a wonderful time there.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I go to wineries and vineyards a lot in Napa, Sonoma, Glen Ellen, and even in Paso Robles if I am driving up, but WOW did this winery exceed all of my expectations! I mean truly! Aside from the gorgeous views on top which overlooks the South Bay, and the beautiful scenic drive of nature, the place is just incredible. I brought a friend with me and she wanted to get married there all the way from Kentucky. It is just that breath taking being up there. Absolutely gorgeous. I hear on Saturdays they are more crowded and it is important to get there early if you want a table, but when I went mid day on Sunday it was not as packed as I thought it would be. My friend and I split a bottle of the House Rose and it was exactly what you need in your summer drink. The vineyard was a super chill vibe. You can go up to the counter, order a bottle, glass, or flight and then take a seat. They also have tons of food available to order. Other people I saw bringing in their own food, please call and ask them if they are okay with that, I do not know if I is against policy. Although, the food is not cheap I consider this place to be a good spot to splurge and treat yourself. If you're in the south bay and looking for something to do this would be a great way to spend your day just relaxing and talking.

Yelp
This winery has beautiful valley views and a nice wine selection. Also, food is available and our party shared a large appetizer plate. A great place to hang out for awhile and catch up with friends. There is a walk to get to the tasting area, but it is very well maintained and the grapevines are right there where they can be tasted. Would bring out of town visitors here especially in warm weather.

Yelp
I was surprised by how quickly the atmosphere could change in only 15 minutes of driving from busy Cupertino to get to the vineyard. My friend and I chose to visit House Family Vineyards based on the reviews commenting on the view and we were not disappointed. The sitting area is spacious with options to sit under the covered patio near the bar or out in the open under umbrellas. I went on a Sunday afternoon near closing so there were fewer people but the area is large enough that even if it was busier, it wouldn't feel like you were encroaching on other people's space. Beautiful views, good wine - I've recommended it to coworkers and friends.

Yelp
Wine with a view! It is a small winery with friendly staff and stunning views. The wine is delicious and we always end up buying some for gifts or for ourselves. They also have a small menu with items like a cheese plate or a hummus plate. I visit this place often with friends to enjoy wine with a view. It is a great place to chill on a nice day. I liked this winery so much that I ended up buying a membership with my boyfriend. Now it's our go-to place to take all our visiting friends. :)

Yelp
Great location, good wine. The downfall is the yellow jacket bees and rattle snakes. This place is nestled beautifully in the mountains and a scenic walk through the vineyard. When you make it to the top you will have the best view imaginable of silicon valley and forget you're only 30 mins away from the tech hustle and bustle. The wines are good, and the wine education is more valuable than you can imagine. The reds are bold and flavor filled, nice spice and robust layers.

Yelp
Went in last Sunday and wanted a glass of Chardonnay. I was told that I couldn't have a glass of Chardonnay unless I belonged to the Wine Club. My friend wanted a glass of red wine and they also said that they couldn't pour a glass for her unless she joined the club. We left..... poor pr relations!!! Went to Testarosa instead and had a marvelous time. No more House Family Vineyards for me

Yelp
The wine is good and the staff is friendly but the view is what makes it. We made a reservation ($20/pp) for seating next to the overlook for a birthday celebration, and it was well worth it. (Although I'm sure going without a reservation would be fine if you don't have your heart set on a particular spot.) Only one real dislike here: they don't bring your drinks to your table for you, and you can't take your whole flight at once. So you have to get up glass by glass which isn't the end of the world but isn't great if you're trying to have a conversation. I'm not winery naive, and this was only the second place I've ever seen this done. Other than that, no complaints. I can definitely see coming back, but packing a picnic and making a real afternoon of it.

Yelp
Very beautiful vineyards and view. Nice outdoor seating area. I definitely recommend going here for a wine tasting. I've been several times and I will go back!
