HOUSE FANTINI / lake time

Pella is a small and quiet village on the western shore of Lago d‘Orta across from Isola San Giulio. Casa Fantini has 9 rooms and 2 suites, all with beautiful lake view. The building’s centrepiece is a large living room equipped with classic modern furniture designed by Lissoni and others. Adjacent is the dining room, terrace and garden with pool. All in impeccable condition. Our Superior Room was quite small, but also tastefully equipped. Luxury amenities, and the shower featured a steam room function - very cool (Fantini is a manufacturer of luxury bathroom fittings; the business is nearby). Staff were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. Aperitif is served every late afternoon. Breakfast was among the best we have had in hotels like this. All in all, a perfect place to relax and to get to know Lago d’Orta that is much less known, yet at least as nice as, neighbouring Lago Maggiore. For those who care (I do), private parking is available at no extra cost.

There are many wonderful boutique hotels with great accommodations and exceptional views, but what sets Casa Fantini apart is their front of house staff. From the moment you arrive, they create such a genuine sense of welcome and provide excellent and unobtrusive service. This great service extends to the hotel's support staff who notice and quietly accommodate your preferences. Breakfast, dinner and apertivo--all lovely. Truly, one of our best experiences in our many decades of travel.

We chose Casa Fantini for a relaxing weeks break. We took one of the suites which was stylish and catered for our every need. ||We felt we were spending time with good friends in their home as opposed to staying in a hotel; I cannot think of a better compliment. ||The entire team were a delight and gave good advice as to what to see in the region from parking to eating. ||Dining in the hotel was exceptional.||There is a regular boat to hop across to Orta or Isola San Giulio, be sure to see both.||To top it all next door to Casa Fantini, is the most wonderful Gelateria, Antica Torre.||We will most definitely return.||Thank you Casa Fantini!

We had the most magical time at Casa Fantini. The staff are so welcoming, kind and accommodating. The photos do not do the hotel justice. The rooms are the perfect size with huge balconies overlooking the gardens and the lake beyond. The hammams in the shower of each bathroom is a great touch. The food at the hotel is the best we had in the whole area.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that truly captivated me with its delightful ambience. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt an instant sense of home. The cozy and inviting atmosphere enveloped me, making my stay incredibly comfortable. The highlight of my mornings was the amazing breakfast spread. The food was not only fresh but also unbelievably tasty, satisfying my taste buds to the fullest. To my surprise, the hotel also offered a fantastic spa experience in the bathroom, allowing me to unwind and rejuvenate after a long day. Overall, this hotel surpassed all my expectations and left me with fond memories.

Today I took a stroll with friends on Lake Orta and returned again to Casa Fantini for lunch (it’s recommended to make a table reservation as limited places). Everything was amazing from the moment you walk in / the service, food and overall design of the place plus the setting (privacy) and ambience cannot be beaten. We left Chef Diego to guide us on this culinary experience and it’s was fantastic. The dessert proposed ‘Saffron muffin’ surprised us all around the table giving us a mixture of emotions. In my opinion it’s one of the best boutique hotels and will surely come back plus recommend to others. ( PS I only posted these photos as the place is worth a visit and let you discover it).

Everything about Casa Fantini was amazing and brought us joy. Sometimes, for some reason, staff at nice hotels can be unwelcoming and snooty— this was not the case at Casa Fantini. They were so kind, welcoming, and went the extra mile to help and accommodate in the most professional and kind way possible. The extras provided also set the hotel over the edge. On arrival they offered a coffee or water (and they went out of their way to make me an American latte). When we arrived to the room, they had the most fresh delicious fruit waiting. It was also our honeymoon, so they left us a bottle of sparkling wine. Delicious apertivo + wine were provided as well later in the evening. At night they took down our bed with a good night note, cookies, and samples of non toxic skin care which I loved (I own a skincare and wellness store so i inspected the ingredients and they were non toxic and very effective!). The wait staff in the restaurant and bar were also all so nice. The blonde male waiter with the beard was SO sweet, happy, and helpful. The mixologist made me the most delicious custom cocktail with homemade syrups. The dinner was delightful!! I did the tasting menu with wines to match. The waiter catered it to me. The breakfast is beautiful, delicious, fresh, outstanding. Now with the design. The design of the hotel is top notch. Modern done right, and really high end. When you walk through the gate your flooded with the smell of gardenias. The pool is delightful. There is a beautiful view right on the lake. The shower is the most amazing thing ever. I think I am convinced to buy one for me house. It is a steam shower, sauna, and light therapy all in one. Again, design is beautiful, as is throughout the whole hotel. Very comfortable bed. Extremely clean. The location is amazing, you have a private gate so only guests can come in. It is juxtaposed to beautiful old buildings, right on the water and there is a very to the island right in front of the hotel. Also— if you ask the front desk, you get private access to a beautiful beach on the lake that is a lovely 10 minute walk and there are services like delicious cocktails and apertivo. Beautiful views including the island and the mountains. If I am ever back at Lago di Orta— I will be back at casa Fantini.

We visited Casa Fantini for the second time this year and it again a truly great experience. We were warmly greeted by Simona and it felt like we had not left. The hotel is very elegant with a beautiful green garden and a pool that is long enough for a good swim. Our highlights, as last year, was the impeccable service, the curated breakfast with a la carte elements and the electric boat to spend some time on the lake. We will be back!
