I live in Myrtle Beach and hadnāt been to this venue since 2017, and now I remember why. I came for the Aly & AJ show on a rainy night and somehow the restaurant was closed even though a full crowd was waiting outside, which feels like basic business 101 they completely missed.
Instead, we were greeted by a security guard with a terrible attitude who had no problem being rude and condescending because we chose to wait under the covered patio instead of standing in the rain. We were literally planning to let everyone already in line go first, but apparently that was too complicated to understand. Sorry youāre miserable at your job, but people are there to see Aly & AJ, not deal with someone on a power trip at the door.
Once inside, drinks start at $15 and food is PRICEY. thereās nowhere to sit, lean, or rest, so get ready to stand for hours, unless ofcourse you pay more and more for maybe a seat upstairs if they have it.
There were also technical issues throughout the show & ALY&AJ even expressed their frustration with it. it was their first time performing here and honestly it didnāt exactly feel like a venue that would make artists excited to come back.
The performers were great, but the venue itself feels outdated, overpriced, and poorly run. Myrtle Beach is a huge tourist destination and itās honestly embarrassing that this is one of the main venues for live shows. The city deserves a modern venue that actually supports artists and gives fans a decent experience, because right now this place feels like itās stuck in the past and coasting on the fact that there arenāt many better options nearby.
