Nashville’s Best Restaurants for Passover Celebrations

"You’ll have to save your challah order until after Passover, but Nolensville’s resident bread baker, House of Bread, offers a traditional braided challah loaf that’s baked fresh daily. In addition to its breads and pastries, the bakery also offers breakfast and lunch options like gluten-free muffins and daily soups." - Kellie Walton, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Yelp
House of Bread is a wonderful bakery that serves bread, bagels, quiches, sandwiches, and everything in between. You don't want to miss this place- everything is amazingly fresh and tasteful. I usually get the Italian sandwich or a Bagel Sandwich of some kind. Every time, the meals hit the spot. The service is fast and friendly, which I love to see. The staff will accommodate most preferences you have and will serve you with a smile on their faces. And, if you want to take home some of House of Bread's delicious food, they offer to-go quiches and breads. All in all it's a delicious place that knows how to do bread and all of its byproducts correctly. You can't miss it!

Yelp
We had lunch here got the Cubano and Reuben sandwiches. Spectacular Sammies which truly hit the spot. The quiche, which we took to go, need some work. The pastry looks and tastes underdone, the egg was done great, it's soft, however it doesn't have any flavor. It could use some salt and pepper for sure.

Yelp
Amazing baked goods, zucchini bread, sandwiches, and soup. The sandwiches were amazing. I had the chicken salad sandwich on sourdough with tomato soup.

Yelp
Tried out House of Bread for the first time and was disappointed. I do see their comments saying they're still training staff so I will be back and I will update my post when I do. Today's lunch was the Italian Grinder but, unfortunately, they got my order wrong and I ended up not eating it. I was really excited to try it so, hopefully, next time I can get my one small omission from the sandwich. I did try half of the Nolo Grilled Cheese which was so indulgent and delicious! The jalapeños and garlic give it so much flavor. It's not something I could eat everyday but it was perfect for a Friday lunch! When I make it back, I'll update this accordingly! Don't want to write off a local business for a small mistake! ETA: they got another order wrong (forgot the cheese on a ham & cheese). When we called we were told they'd let the manager know. This one may just be a lost cause for me. I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
They don't disappoint! All of their breads are delicious, and their sandwiches are just as amazing. Great service, calm ambiance, excellent food.

Yelp
Great sandwiches!! Service was incredible and staff was knowledgeable regarding the Boars Head products they carried which is why I came in (restrictive diet and can't have any junk in my meats/cheese) Glad we have a business near by that prides itself on serving quality products.

Yelp
We were skeptical because of the negative reviews, but we had a great experience this morning. Showed up around 10:30 am I. Sunday. We placed ordered which was delivered to us in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Tuscan chicken on garden herb bread. I thought it was tasty and liked the pesto and balsamic/ olive oil combo a lot. My husband ordered the club and it was huge! We also had a raspberry white chocolate muffin that was still warm! So good! Check it out!

Yelp
If you haven't stopped by House of Bread recently, I definitely recommend you do so. Grab a loaf of the garlic cheddar bread. It's amazing! Or if you prefer something else; they have a lot of variety to choose from.

Yelp
Stopped in to grab a bite to go after some errands in the area. Employees were super nice and helpful (even made sure I didn't forget the loaf I ordered too!) and service was really fast. The bagel sandwich was delicious, but incredibly stingy on the fillings especially considering the price. The bagel itself is a great size but the egg and tomato were paper thin (and the tomato was sad and anemic.. no reason for this in tomato season in the south). Again, delicious bagel, but don't bother paying extra for fillings since you won't even notice they're there.

Yelp
Great service. Delicious bread. Grabbed a high chair for my daughter the first time we came in. Gave me a small sliver of some fresh bread to try while I was eating my sandwich since I had never been before. Chicken avocado salad on sourdough is delicious! Clean and quaint, with lots of natural light. Perfect spot for lunch.

Yelp
I love the smell as soon as you walk in! Staff is always super friendly! Food is spot on everything single time. So delicious. Amazing portions! Best quality of ingredients matched to perfection. Such a good place for a lunch date or solo. Could seriously eat here every day!

Yelp
I really love a good bread shop! This one has some areas that need improvement. First, breakfast. Daughter had a cinnamon roll. The leading flavor of the CINNAMON roll was...lemon. Not a repeat item. Son had avocado toast. When I think of avocado toast, I think of a thick slice of bread and avocado. Sadly, those were lacking. The bread was thin sliced from their sandwich slicer and there was a laughable lack of avocado. The egg was well done and runny. I had the sausage, egg and cheddar on a cheese bagel. Solid effort here. Bagel was good and the egg was okay. Coffee was not very good and they didn't give me a lid. 8:30 on Saturday morning and they weren't busy but the food still took a long time to come out. We tried three bread items. The artichoke pesto sourdough was alright but the pesto was lacking salt. Lots of voids where it was rolled. The honey whole wheat was good. The lemon bar was fine but very crumbly. I'd try more of their breads.

Yelp
Great experience here. I came in based in a recommendation from a friend, and was met by sweet customers and a great employee. I purchased two muffins, two raspberry pinwheels (I think that's the name?) and a loaf of honey wheat bread based on Eric's recommendation. And by the way, Eric is a great employee! Excellent with customers, helpful, and perfectly friendly--not too much or too little. He managed lots of different things very well. I will be back!

Yelp
Amazing carrot cake bread! Owner was super nice! Love supporting local business :) Will go back with friends! I went back to buy another carrot cake bread for my neighbor the same day!

Yelp
Great spot for lunch! They bake their own breads as well, which are fab. The apple loaf has larger chucks of apple inside it, which I loved. Would eat here again.

Yelp
The food and all the breads we sampled were amazing! Quality and freshness! Owner was friendly and knowledgeable! Give them a try!

Yelp
Went to House of Bread with friends for my birthday lunch. I got the Avocado Toast. It was delicious!! The staff there was so friendly and checked on us multiple times. They have bread and goodies already baked and ready to take home to enjoy. Definitely found my new go to place in Nolensville.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and it was moderately busy. The service was a little slow in the beginning but the young man behind the counter was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the ham and cheese on the honey whole wheat. It was about what you would expect, average. The bread was the best part as it was fresh and had a homemade taste. Also had a chocolate chip cookie which was good. It was freshly baked and again tasted homemade. There is not a lot of room for tables but one negative was there was only one table that could seat 4 people. Today with it being somewhat busy a group of more than two would not be able to sit together.

Yelp
Not much I could say as I only took a quick visit, but I tried their bagel bits and zucchini bread. Both were fantastic. I also got a cubano sandwich and that was also great and really showcased how great their bread was. The only con and why I'm giving it 4 stars is that their bagels are quite pricey. 3 bagels cost $9 and although I liked them, I don't feel that they're worth the price they are. Otherwise I would still recommend this place- they have half off day old goods and really great sandwiches.

Yelp
Great Boar's Head sandwiches, Pumpkin bread was amazing. Very nice family who runs it. Nice addition to the town.

Yelp
We tried HOB today after being really excited for it to open for weeks. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. We waited almost an hour for two sandwiches. Apparently there was an issue with the ticket printer, but we were not given an "I'm sorry about your wait" or any type of explanation after finally receiving our food. Hopefully they can work out the kinks, but we won't be going back for a while.

Yelp
My wife and I went here for the first time yesterday. It was a little late in the day so we knew a lot wouldn't be available at that time of the day. However there were a number of items available. We decided on cinnamon swirl bread. While we were talking to the gentleman at the counter he gave us samples of their sourdough which we are fans of. The sourdough was tasteless. When we got home we wanted to try the cinnamon swirl bread, sliced up 4 slices buttered and microwaved to melt the butter. Truthfully the cinnamon swirl looked like cinnamon "comb over" not swirl. There was virtually no cinnamon and it was all at the top, not swirled, very little and all at the top. We were deeply disappointed. Don't think we'll be going back.

Yelp
This is a yummy place to explore a selection of homemade breads and pastries. The sandwich selection provides a good variation to satisfy various tastes. The individuals with HOB are gracious and helpful. If you have driven by and NOT stopped, I recommend this as a place you can relax and enjoy good food. For the harried shopper, you might consider it a personal gift to yourself or others.

Yelp
I work at Inspire Dental in Nolensville ! Our Dr , Dr Amera Qureshi went one day and came back so excited about the food and her experience, that she decided we were going to support this local company, as in our Mission Statement ! It's truly been such a fun experience! Everyday we have a loaf of bread that we give to one patient. We write a card with our thanks for them choosing us, and also if they have made a milestone in their treatment or just need a reason to smile ! You'd think they won the lottery with their excitement and emotions! Some times patients even cry ! We've gotten to know Tim , the owner. He's such a friendly , personable person ! And we love supporting another small business and business owner !!! Today he brought us our own goodies to enjoy ! YUMMMMYYYYYY! Thank You ! Amy @Inspire Dental

Yelp
I ordered the gluten free blueberry muffins and homemade croutons. They were both delicious. I will certainly be back to try the sour dough bread and sandwiches.

Yelp
I really want to like this place, but there are a few issues that have yet to be resolved since opening that keep it from earning 5 stars. First off, the owner is cordial, kind, and great. The place smells amazing when you walk in, and there are many fresh baked bakery options and breakfast/lunch menu items to choose from. However, one thing I noticed upon my first visit was how many fruit flies there were, I was hoping that the issue would be resolved eventually, but upon my last visit there happens to still be fruit flies. I'm hoping the manager/owner gets to the bottom of it and does whatever it takes to minimize these pests from returning. Another area of improvement is their brunch/lunch menu, it is very lackluster. For the price you're paying, it doesn't feel any better than going to Starbucks down the road. There employees also seem to be confused, or just not interested in being there. And finally, it's their inconsistency that's hurting them. The baked goods are good, but the flavor and texture is never consistent. One day it's sweet, the next it's bland. Or one day it's a moist, the next it's dry. If they can work on these issues, I'm sure they'll see more repeat customers.

Yelp
Fresh breads and friendly service. What's not to like? I like the cranky turkey and California fusion sandwiches. I really like the chocolate zucchini bread. Bagels are delicious as well.

Yelp
Breakfast bagels were fantastic! Service was quick, will definitely be going back, and to top it off they have Diet Coke!

Yelp
My husband and I were so eagerly anticipating the opening of this restaurant. Sadly it was a major disappointment. I will say it smells amazing when you walk in, and the pastries looked great. That's when everything else went downhill. I don't know if he was just having a bad day, but the person that took my order was less than cordial, putting that nicely. No smile, no greeting, terrible customer service. I placed my to go order for two sandwiches -- the Cranky Turkey and The Western. Upon eating our order at home soon after, my husband immediately complained about the huge amount of mustard on his Western sandwich. Keep in mind, the Western is supposed to have mayo and horseradish -- no mustard at all. Not only that, but there was no mayo and no horseradish at all. The only modification I asked for was to leave out the tomato. The sourdough was not very flavorful at all -- which is strange for sourdough. I don't know if they are still working out the kinks but I cannot recommend them at this time. Subway down the street is better.

Yelp
I grew up on delicious challah in Chicago but haven't found one I like in Nashville til I got one from here. It was sooo good. And two days later still super fresh and delicious. I'm definitely impressed and will definitely be back. Thank you for bringing a little bit of home here for me :-)

Yelp
Its hard to find good new things anywhere these days where the service and people are as good as the food. We just tried House of Bread - Nolensville and it was everything we had hoped for and then some. The owner Tim is so nice and the food was amazing! We have been excited to try it and will be coming back often. I had one of their breakfast sandwiches. My wife and the kids got pastries and loaves of bread that were so good! Everything we tried so far was excellent and the service and environment were top notch!

Yelp
I was also eagerly awaiting the opening of this place, and have frequented it at least 10 times since it opened. I am so disappointed. The product seems to be so inconsistent, something looks one way one day and different the next. Lemon bars are a prime example. I've had them plump and full of both base and topping, other times they seem like an anorexic afterthought. The sourdough isn't sourdough. Service getting sandwiches the 2 times we've done so has been terrible- painfully slow and these are priced pretty high for what actually eventually appears. The owner seems nice but some of the younger staff just don't seem to want to be there. I understand teething problems but when you're charging an absolute premium please expect your customers to have high expectations

Yelp
Great first visit at HOB. My wife and I both loved the quiche. The avocado toast was phenomenal. We are definitely coming back for the cinnamon rolls.
