House of Brews

First time there. Looks like a neighborhood bar where all the locals go after work. I gave only four stars because they don’t serve fries with the burgers. The quesadilla burger was delicious but they should have asked me if I wanted extra cheese on the meat.

This is a casual sports bar, with great service and food. We go all over and rate wings and this is up there with the top 10 definitely nine out of 10 for their wings. Staff is always friendly and very professional. I would definitely go out of my way to get these wings! Very big wings, multitude of sauces and dry rubs to choose from. We always get Cajun dry rub with creeper sauce on the side, amazing!

House of Brews off Van Dyke is a local gem and one of my favorite go-to spots for great food, cold drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere. Whether you’re grabbing a bite after work, catching a game, or meeting up with friends, this place never disappoints. I highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Wrap—it’s seriously one of the best around. The chicken is perfectly crispy, tossed in just the right amount of buffalo sauce for that tangy heat, and wrapped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing. It’s flavorful, satisfying, and hits the spot every time. It’s served with a side of house-made chips that are crunchy, well-seasoned, and a great complement to the wrap. The service is always friendly and efficient, and the staff makes you feel right at home. There’s a fantastic selection of beers on tap, with plenty of local and craft options to choose from. The vibe is relaxed, with TVs throughout so you can always catch the game. If you’re in the area and looking for a casual spot with consistently great food and service, House of Brews on Van Dyke is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back for that wrap and a cold beer!

What seemed like a fairly typical strip mall bar and grill turned out to be pretty good actually. Great menu lots of options and the tomato bisque is to die for. I had a cheeseburger, which was pretty damn good. The Mrs. had the bisque toasted cheese, which was fantastic. No complaints at all. Hidden gem

Omg. I just walked in randomly after work, to just kinda celebrate my first day of success in a new job. And everyone was so friendly and welcoming.:D

The atmosphere of the brewery was cozy and inviting, with a warm, sporty decor and friendly staff. The variety of craft beers on tap complemented the meal beautifully, making it a well-rounded dining experience. Overall, house of brews. is a hidden gem in Lutz that offers exceptional food and a welcoming environment. I can't wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings! Best to come to watch the Bucs/lighting/rays games.

I am not sure how this restaurant is still open. We ordered chips and salsa and got a bunch of crumbs with watered down salsa. I feel like we got food from the local Sam’s club. I love wings; I don’t know if I have ever felt they were disgusting from anywhere until now. I could not even finish 8 of them. Not to mention I waited over 30 minutes to get them. The service was subpar. One waitress was nice and the other was nothing but attitude, f you could ever catch them. If you are reading this, I recommend you avoid this restaurant. I promise my wife and I will NOT be back.

Unexpected stop at House of Brews this evening and cannot believe I have not been here before! Thank you Sarah for amazing service. Made a new friend at the bar, who should also be paid for making the experience perfect. Thank you Mike, Thank you House of Brews for a perfect kick off to fourth of July weekend. My wife, my cousin and I were heading to a show and tried to get into another restaurant in this complex. They only had outside seating so we looked for another restaurant close by. After a quick search we walked down to the House of Brews. The upon entering, we were warmly greeted and told to sit anywhere. After finding a booth, a pleasant waitress took our drink order as we pursued the menu. We had a few questions that got answered quickly. We ordered the potsticker appetizer and placed our dinner order. The pot stickers were extremely good! I ordered the steak Gyro, my wife got the BLT and my cousin ordered the Italian sub. The food was delicious! Multiple waitresses stopped by and refilled our drinks and checked on how our food was. The prices are very reasonable(we did not order any alcohol). This place was not our radar before but we will be back!

5 stars for this joint! Fresh food and outstanding service! If you follow my reviews you know I'm always on the hunt for non chain restaurants in my area. Indeed, I found another diamond! Not only was the fun football crowd a reason for us to return, but Oh My the food is exceptional! Baked wings, YES you heard me. I can cheat with my favorite food without the extra calories. We chose the buffalo and it was a great choice. Definitely trying more on the list! They were definitely brined ahead of time making for a perfect flavor. We also tried the hamburger wrap (we added pickles) Delish! A must order. For the side we chose rice and beans. So flavorful! Next time I'm ordering the bowl with rice and beans. They offer a new different homemade soup du jour every day. Today was the Brunswick Stew and if you ever see this on the day you choose to go, try it! Lots of flavor. The bartender let me sample the soup. The bartenders made a fantastic team and were super attentive. We'll be back very soon!

Friendly and good food, and just a good place to hangout. Met up with some friends and we all had a blast!

Always hot, fresh, great customer service and reasonable pricing (for todays economy: while they're prices have slightly increased, their portions and quality remain excellent). Love the "neighborhood" atmosphere, and great daily specials.

Devil eggs were just ok. They had blue cheese on them. The burger was average. There are no fries. The soup was good but not hot. Service was good.

We were looking for a local bar where we could enjoy watching football while eating dinner, this ended up being the perfect fit. Service was amazing. Everyone that walked by always asked if we were going okay. Beer was delicious and cold. They had a great assortment. Appetizer we ordered the buffalo shrimp, highly recommend. Entrees we had the meatball sub and steak gyro which we would order again. They were very good.

Just O.K. the prices are much to high considering the side choices (bag of Lays chips) oh and the inside of the glasses smell like a wet dog. Staff is nice though. Won't be back .

We live right up the road from this place and never tried despite them being open for quite some time. No masks required, even the staff doesn't wear them (which we're cool with btw). Not a very large place but adequate tables available as well as bar seating. They have draft beers and well as cocktails and food available. Daily specials for lunch as well. Staff is super friendly and seating was open, so you could choose where you wanted to sit. Small outside area for sitting as well, should you be more of an outdoor person :) Decided to try lunch here since we had the day off. They weren't busy but more people began to come in shortly after we arrived. Staff super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. It's you're typical bar food, so don't expect anything great. We got the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers to start and for lunch I got the Whiskey Glazed wings and my hubs got a burger w/soup instead of fries. Wings were okay flavor wise - I think if I were to order over I'd get the buffalo. The Whiskey glaze had a really mild flavor but the wings were fall of the bone tender! So can't complain. My hubs burger was okay and cooked to his liking. The soup was like water and not very good....so we tasted and that was it. Jalapeño poppers were just okay as well --- I've had at other places that are so much better, so I just can't say that these were anything outstanding. Again, it's a bar so I don't hold my expectations very high for the food...however service was GREAT!!

Time for an update, seems like nothing has changed. I'm sure the soup is amazing, staff is a bunch of crazy people and the customers are why they are crazy! I haven't eaten here in a long time, but the same dude has been here for years. Ao the food is probably the same.

In the last few days we drove past this place few times. We decided to check it out and we were blown away. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Our bartender was super friendly. THey have wide selection of brews to choose from. The food was delicious. We ordered wings Bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos, (Both were good, but Bacon wrapped stuffed Jalapenos is my favorite), Steak Gyro, Brew's Burger with Chips.

Awesome 'hole in the wall' place. Excellent food & service! Tonight, a bit short handed staff wise, but the two bartenders did a great job handling a packed house. I sat outside with my pup, Iko, and placed a to-go order, with specific instructions. When the bartender brought my drink she also brought water for Iko . When I got home, I couldn't have been happier, the cook followed my instructions perfectly! Which if you get take out often enough, is very hard to find. I ordered the Breakfast burger with bread on the side (I live 20 minutes away and didn't want soggy bread). When I got home, I was sooo amazed and impressed by the packaging! BIG KUDOS to the chef! FYI, it was chilly inside and saw one couple leave because of the temperature. I know I wouldn't have been able to sit inside; if you're sensitive to cold, take a sweatshirt and socks. Overall and pups are welcome outside

Cool place to watch a game, drink some great craft beer and eat some yummy food. They usually have some local craft beer options. They have a nice large and long bar and some tables inside the dining room. They have great food options, from a Cuban sandwich to a delicious burger and steak gyro. Great service and friendly staff. Just like a neighborhood bar, noticed a lot of locals there. There's plenty of parking available as it's in a shopping center.

Great beer selection and nice small place. I thought the lack of having something like fries would be the thing that brought the review down a star but the food was phenomenal. Killer burger. Who cares about fries and again beer selection was great. The 4th star. Ambiance. There was zero vibe here. Painted walls and tvs. That's it. This place could use some charm but the food was killer.

Only had a couple of beers, Cold cold beers ! Nice music, customer service is good. Parking lot enough considering is in a mall. Sure will stop next time for more beers and probably order something from the menu.

The vibe is great. They do serve liquor and have a lot of happy hour and daily specials. Beer selection is good. Food is good with generous portions. Nice place to watch a game, lots of TV The staff is friendly and attentive. Will be coming back.

What a gem! Great menu, lots of TVs, good variety of beers, clean bathrooms, good food, nice, friendly and prompt servers. We had one of the bowls and a wrap, both with chicken...very tasty. I saw signs fir Happy hour and game nights. We'll definitely come back. Brittany was our server, awesome!

These people are Awesome In this place. They are on top of service .. they have GREAT BARTENDERS Callie and Stacey from the first night we came in these two women were super attentive to Us . Food wise I had the fish dip which was really good Rick had the dumplings. As far as the apps went they were pretty good and hit the spot.. I'm was fun they are fast a very very happy to be here So.... Gf just typed some shit. Here's the deal. So the food is good. Girls are cute. Saw a guy with a beard. Jason. Also attentive. Don't talk too loud around him. Hears everything. Like he's a warlock. They bar tenders are awesome. I'm used to places that are understaffed. Not the case here. Place is awesome.Just want to say that if you're ever in the Tampa area come here it's a great place.

I LOVE HOB ! I eat here a couple times a week! My food is always amazing. The staff is always so nice and helpful with anything I might need! My drinks are top notch and I love the monthly drink features! I usually come during the afternoons and bring my laptop to get some work done! The internet always works great and they have outlets for me to plug my laptop and phone in all along the bottom of the bar!! Score

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. First, and most important to me, staff is incredible. Always super friendly and remember all of their regular customers' favorites. The food is actually excellant for a small "Cheers" like bar atmosphere. Great place to watch the games and enjoy a quick meal. Be sure and order your food when you are ready to eat as it comes out really fast. That works for me as Im usually looking for a quick bite and a beer. Seriously one of my favorite places in Tampa. Perfect atmosphere for this type of bar/restaurant. Highlights on the menus: Soups, Salads, Caesar with Grilled Shrimp is fantastic, the bowls are killer, burgers are top notch, and the Nachos are my favorite guilty treat. GO GO GO!!! - Cheers! Craig

A lot has changed with the posting of my last review. There was a change of ownership and a much needed remodel. Not as much as a secret as it once was. During happy hour the place is packed, Friday nights it's packed, game day, you get it, it's packed. Even when it's crowded you never get the lost in the crowd feeling you get at some places it's the place where you always run into someone you know no matter if there's one or one hundred people here. The remodel left less space for the staff in the bar area but more space for patrons. They've changed out the light fixtures and updated the menu. Although the daily specials have changed it's more in line at what you see other places. They now have mule Monday with $5 mules. They have a decent selection of craft beer and very good food. Most items on the menu are about $10. The staff is friendly. Will I go back of course I always do.

For context - We've been going to this place for ~1 year. We've eaten and drank on multiple occasions. Positives - trivia is a blast, and drink specials are great. Atmosphere is ok, seating for TVs is great to watch a game. Negatives - there is ZERO give a crap factor in the kitchen. Food is sloppily put together and mess to eat. [Had the Buffalo chicken wrap, chicken tenders, and soup of the day. The wrap fell after one bite because it was over saturated with boiled chicken and sauce. Tenders were charred black and talented like a salt like wrapped in ash. Got the soup as a backup and it came out boiling lava hot, and a bowl that was impossible to touch (meaning microwaved to nuclear proportions)] Service was great - and drinks were well made. But the kitchen is an unmitigated disaster. (And watched one of the kitchen staff stare at us from the end of the bar - like he was pissed at us for sending the stuff back) We may still come back for trivia - but we'll make sure to eat before hand so we don't have to deal with that slop.

Stopped in here with a friend to catch up and watch football. It was surprisingly not as busy as I would have expected for a late Sunday afternoon. I'll start off by saying that the service here was awesome throughout the time we were there. We were immediately greeted by a waitress who took our drink orders. Our drinks arrived within five minutes. We ordered a couple of appetizers (chips and salsa, chicken quesadilla). The chips and salsa, as expected, arrived within 5-7 minutes. In my opinion, the chips were a little too salty for my liking, but the salsa was really good for bar salsa. The quesadilla arrived later, and I had two takeaways. First, the chicken was a little suspect. The texture was almost like the rubber you'd expect to get at a fast food restaurant. Next, it was just too bland. Yes, there was salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream on the side, but something besides chicken and cheese on the inside would have enhanced the taste. The two appetizers were mediocre. I wouldn't mind giving this place another try for an entree someday. The service here would make me want to come back and try it again.

Katie and Demi were the two best bartenders I have ever encountered. They were very attentive, caring and made me feel at home even though it was my first time there. I recommend this bar to everyone.

I've been here quite a few times and the food is always really good and consistent! On Tuesday we had the taco salad and it was excellent. Perfect proportion of meat to lettuce with lots of other good stuff in there including some slivers of fresh jalapeños which was awesome! We also had the cheese burger and it was very good. They were slammed and service was just a little slow, but all in all they did a great job. Will go back for sure.

What a great little spot! Chrissy is so sweet she makes you feel like you've been friends your whole life. The menu has something for everyone on it, I was really impressed with all of the options.

Why 1 star? I've been here a few times and have had terrible service both times. The wife and I came on 4/20. It was moderately busy. My wife ordered the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread and I ordered the Patty Melt. After an extremely long wait or food arrived. The waitress drops off our food and takes off. They brought my wife a BBQ pizza not the Buffalo Chicken flatbread that she ordered. They brought me the patty melt but it hardly had any cheese or any onions and it had no sauce it was just dry. It took another 6 minutes for our waitress to come out of the back. I asked for the sauce for my party melt and my wife told her the wrong food was brought out. No apologies were made and no food was brought to the table to make up for their mistake. Very disappointing!

Um, it blows my mind that this place has an average rating of 4 stars. Lutz must really be desperate for good food and good service, because the experience I had here totally sucked. I walked in and sat down. A bartender, Lindsey, put a bevnap in front of me, introduced herself and gave me the other bartender's name. That's it. After that I got ignored while I sat and watched everyone around me get drink REFILLS while I sat there dying of thirst. Finally, the other bartender noticed me after an extensive wait and got me the beer I ordered. Then I sat and twiddled my thumbs forever while I waited for them to get around to taking my food order. Finally...the ball is rolling. I got a Sea Dog Blue Paw beer. The fresh blueberries were a nice touch. Sea Dog is great on tap, so I was happy once I finally got it in front of me and doused my liver with it. I ordered the taco salad. It looked good. Can I get some fucking silverware sometime before it gets cold? Nope...sure can't. Hey, may I please have some hot sauce. Nope...sure can't. My food was cold by the time they finally brought me silverware and they never brought me the hot sauce I asked for. Ladies, I bartend for a living. I came there to eat before my shift at work. There's no light way to put this. YOU SUCK! I will never come back here. You kiss the ass of your regulars and ignore a new face in such a way that is ridiculous. I left pissed off and didn't feel like complaining to a manager at the time to get my bill comped out of not wanting to deal with it while I was mad. I paid the bill, stiffed you on the tip, and left vowing to never come back. And that's a wrap. If you've never been here, plan to get treated like they never want you back. This place is a joke.

The wife and I came in about 6:00 pm on a Tuesday. We set at a booth. Small table or wider booth... I can't decide, either way it is uncomfortable. Please fix! Then again all you 400 pounders this is the bar for you as you can totally fit in the booth. I went to the bathroom it was down a dark hallway luckily a guy just walked out so i figured that was the bathroom. Score... So we ordered soft pretzel and a patty melt and fries. We got the patty melt and chips?... no pretzel. They offered fries. We declined as ee had to leave soon. The waitress said we didn't order a pretzel. Arrg so we ate what food we had sans pretzel. The service was fast and the waitress/bartender was nice. We got a free beer... They didn't ring up both that I got.

We had a great dinner. Our server was friendly and fast! The food was great (nachos, fish spread, & a quesadilla burger!!!). It was happy hour so $5 drafts and a lively atmosphere without being too crowded. There are no fries, which I think is kinda weird, and we didn't order wings because they come in an 8-pack.

I had the chance to visit House of Brews earlier this week and I must say this restaurant totally exceeded my expectations. In my never-ending quest for the best tacos, my friend Renee led me to this place in her neighborhood. I started with a Pineapple Mojito, which was just ok. I am not a pineapple fan, so this was not the best choice for me. The Bacon Cheeseburger Soup I ordered as my appetizer was very good. I would definitely recommend it. I lucked out because we happened to visit this restaurant on a Tuesday and it was...Taco Tuesday! Tacos are only $1.00 here and you have a choice of beef for chicken. The tacos taste like your basic tacos but for $1.00 who is going to complain? Thanks to Brynn for being such a personable and attentive server!

Been twice so far, place is small but, food was excellent! I got the steak gyro first time and a grilled cheese with tomato soup this last time, both were great, can't remember what the wife got first first time but this time she got the breakfast burger and I had a bite, it was awesome. We'll be eating there again. She got the cheese burger wrap and she loved it.

Fast and friendly service. Nice little front patio outside ! Everything we had was delicious - spinach and artichoke dip, quesadilla burger, and Buffalo chicken wrap. My daughters kids meal was amazing for only $4 - a fully loaded quesadilla that would've been enough for me and a really nice side of fruit. Will definitely return!

Man what a pleasant surprise, we ate here after dealing with a 3 1/2 hour flight delay and the flight from hell. The BBQ chicken flatbread pizza was really good and the baked BBQ wings were over the top ! Wife got the Turkey Rueben and it was very good as well. Great late night stop and the service was great too !

First visit. Southwest friendly and helpful. Our favorite brew happened to be on tap. We had a soup, burger and spinach Artichoke chip. All good and worth the buck. You won't have any trouble finding something to eat and a great beer to go with it

Have ordered late here before but today they were a disappointment after and long day flying home at 18 minutes till close they couldn't fulfill the order. Being in the service industry I wouldn't have called if your site did not expressly say "GRILL OPEN TILL MIDNIGHT". Next time don't stress about getting out early, take care of your loyal customers!!!

Our bartender was awesome and so knowledgeable! They make most things on the menu in house. The Cuban is awesome! Can't wait to go back and try something else.

nice little gem of a bar in the Lutz area ! Me and the misses was looking for a bar to satisfy our late night thirst and ended up here. Nice local spot that basically has what you need, a great selection of liquor & beers with accompanying bar food to match. Plus our bartender was very gracious and friendly and served us what ever we wanted with the quickness. we wanted a little light late night snack so we ordered the chips & guac. the salsa was a little on the watery side but i thought the guac was decent and not too bad. They have a cool patio set out in the front which is a nice alternative to sitting inside. sort of like cool looking pool side patio furniture but none the less a nice alternative to the interior. on their boards they touted a few good happy hour specials which i will be sure to come back and check out with the misses for the next time. they also have various live music acts here so be sure to check the calendar. based on the overall vibe of the place, those nights can sum up to a kick ass time!

My dad and I came here one afternoon after a day of shopping and decided to grab a quick drink. The bar itself was pretty packed for a Friday afternoon around 3pm, but that's okay because we were still able to grab seats and order. The bartender was pretty friendly and took our drink orders quickly. I was excited to be able to order a Yuengling (we don't have them in STL) so I happily ordered a pint and enjoy sip. My dad and I were chatting and observing the other patrons. The couple next to us ordered the loaded nachos (or something like that) and they were massive! I don't know how anyone can eat that many nachos, but they seemed to be enjoying them. My dad was in need of a snack and opted to order the tacos since they were a smaller menu item. They were delivered quickly and looked tasty. He asked for some extra salsa, but I think the bartender forgot. I could tell she had a lot going on. She did offer us refills on our drinks which was great because I needed another. Once we finished our drinks we chatted for a bit longer and then had to leave since we had plans at home with the rest of the family. It was definitely a nice little relaxing afternoon at House of Brews and I would recommend checking it out.

I am one of the few that are not avid beer drinkers. Occasionally in the Summer, when it is really hot or out of necessity are the few times I will drink a brew. The establishment sits in a strip mall among other businesses. I was there during the week and the place was overflowing with people. This smallish place was standing room only & it was loud. Did I mention it was loud, like everyone yelling to be heard. It appeared 5hat the crowd w as enjoying themselves & having a good time. Service was slow and the wine offering were minimal. House of Brews appears to appeal to the loud masses, but personally it just isn't my style. I'd take a honky tonk any day over a loud sardine can, just my personal preference. What's a girl to do? Go find a place a bit quieter where you can hear yourself. Yup I need to talk to myself some days, my bad!

Best bar I have found in Tampa. From the uber friendly and smiling friendly staff to the delicious menu items, there is no other place that compares. If you want a place that makes you feel welcome and special, serves a great variety of beers and cocktails and generally has the most friendly patrons, you need to try House of Brews. You won't regret it, I GUARANTEE that!!!
