Loved my first visit to House of Dear! I had my first curly cut ever with Mimi, who was AMAZING. She talked me through the entire process and showed me how to work with my curls for the best results. Everyone was so nice, and the salon is super cute! I’ll be back for sure!

First time going to House of Dear, Ashley was fantastic! I have very fine, thinning post menopausal hair and I left there feeling like a million bucks! Ashley was very thorough when assessing my hair and made me feel at ease. I normally do not enjoy going to the salon, but now, I can’t wait for my next appointment! I highly recommend!

I was in an extreme pinch and needed my hair pressed. I called this salon, and the receptionist was pleasant and unbothered by my last-minute request. She told me to be there in 30 min. I couldn't be happier. When I arrived, I was impressed with the salons set up... It's very unique, I've never seen anything like it! Mr. Lafuente was who I was paired with, and let me tell you... his hands are magic! It didn't take him hours and after finding out how experienced he is I will make House of Dear my special place! Thank you for being so patient, welcoming, and understanding !

After a thoughtful consultation, Beau fit me into his busy schedule the next morning and surprised me with a warm welcome and a birthday card. The treatment, color, and cut completely exceeded my expectations. I walked out not just looking transformed, but feeling like a new version of myself. I'm so happy I found House of Dear for my curls! Holly and Trin take such good care of me. Holly is fantastic - she works to shape my hair to get to my goal of longer curls, and even talked my daughter through how she would cut and style her to get from what we'd always thought was very straight hair to a really nice layered cut that brought out her waves and curls. She even worked her in for the cut when she had a cancellation while my color was processing! Speaking of color, Trin is a rockstar - I wear rainbows all the time, and she did an amazing vivid rainbow that faded so beautifully over the summer that I got raves every day from "Oh wow, your hair is amazing!" to "Oh wow, that's amazing, how did you get that perfect pastel?" I sadly had to go back to natural color for a (not-sad) new job, and she made my natural color look fantastic and brought me back to redo a couple of spots where the former blue and yellow were being stubborn. My daughter adds: "They were very nice. And awesome!"

I looked for a new hair salon for 3 months and finally decided to try out Dear Clark. They are all so sweet and Christy was amazing! I was so happy with my new blonde hair. Here are my before and after pictures. I also just attached some more photos from 04/21 this is my 3rd visit at Dear Clark. They did an amazing job with my color and styling my hair as well as doing my makeup for cheer tryouts. I absolutely love this hair studio.

I booked a same day appointment with Mimi to have my wavy hair brought back to life after postpartum. I am so incredibly pleased with how it turned out! This is the first salon I've been to that knows how to care for naturally wavy and curly hair, I will be coming here from now on! Mimi is an absolute artist, I totally recommend her for the curly cut. She sculpts your hair when dry so your hair is cut custom for your own curl pattern. The only thing is they changed locations and google maps is not updated yet! It is now on Hibernia and Routh across from the Whole Foods in uptown in a cute little house converted for business.

Thanks to Instagram I found my new hair person, Jessica Stribling. I like to think of her as the blonde whisperer, although if you peep her IG she doesn't shy away from other colors. My first couple of visits was me learning what I wanted and how to communicate that. Initially I added some lowlights for fall and then immediately went blonder the next visit. I am happy to have Jessica to be able to guide me. Thank goodness for the professionals, amirite?! Jess is a straight up hair colorist but will hook you up with a person in the salon to get a hair cut. I have been with Arnold for cuts after Jessica works her magic. I love this salon. It's cozy and unpretentious, and I love my new lady! You can book online too which is one of my fave things. Bottom line is if you are searching for your colorist come here now and ask for Jess!

Wow, just wow. These folks work like a team and managed a full boliage, cut, extensions another cut plus style and it looks amazing!! Thank you to everyone. My favorite part is that they don't hesitate to work together to get you the perfect cut. If someone is the best at bangs they are going to come over and make sure you look runway ready. 4 different people made this amazing style possible!

I had a color and cut consultation and services from Ashley and let me just say she did a better job than ANY stylist I have ever had. I've spent most of my time in Plano/Frisco with well-respected stylists - but somehow Ashley immediately establish a rapport and accurately determined what options I should consider (I was seeking advice) and the result was - as I said - the best I've ever had. also loved the atmosphere at the salon - lots of interesting people, and a salon with style! you'll want to check out this salon and Ashley if you can - highly recommend!!!

The stylist I saw just moved to another salon however I still thought I should write this because I was shocked that a reputable salon would have a stylist doing such poor work. She was even recommended to me by the receptionist and was an educator here. The pictures speak for themselves, these are the next day no wash yet. It looked good when I left the salon but I still had roots showing and I asked for a little face framing and she gave me lots of horribly blended layers. I spent 3 hour and $250 there and still need my color redone and a cut that can't be fixed. Management refused to give any amount of refund to me only to have me come back and have the color fixed but I definitely wouldn't trust them for that

Loved visiting this salon for the first time. I got my haircut with Mimi as a recommendation from a friend and she did amazing. She will listen to what you want and do exactly that. It's a nice salon with good vibes. Loved the wash and scalp massage as well. I can't wait to go back. For those of you who appreciate landmarks, it's next door to Breadwinners. You're welcome.

I was deeply disappointed. I asked them for a big change, I wanted to turn my hair into electric blue, showed them pictures for reference, and after 5 hours and almost $700 dollars, my hair is not blue -.- is black with some dark blue highlights that you can barely see under the sunlight my hair looks healthy and shinny, I would recommend this place for more basic services, but not for a modern hair coloring transformation

House of Dear Salon! I'll start with the coolest couple of hair artists I know the Coolidge Couple (Emily & Brett)! This is my favorite salon in Dallas for Hair Color, Cut & Styling. I moved here a few years ago and shopped around hairdressers/salons for a whole year & thought I couldn't find a highlight cheaper than $400-500 in this city Glad I was wrong, after researching some of the top, most established salons, I finally found House of Dear. I've never been more impressed by another business in Dallas. The prices are amazing - I get a routine partial here (with toner & root smudge) for ~ $150! A full highlight $230 I'm amazed by the service! Over the last few years, I've been to 4 or so different hairdressers here due to availability and preferences. I cannot brag enough by the incredible hair color! I've had so much luck with Brett & Ashley, here (Emily is now running the front desk)

Mimi is the best! She has been working with me to get my hair back to healthy and gave me the cutest haircut! Today was my first color with her and I got the works (tomorrow is my anniversary). It turned out gorgeous! She's my new favorite person

House of Dear is my all-time favorite hair salon, and Mimi Hoon is the epitome of a professional stylist!!! I have curly hair, and she has spent over 3 years cutting and teaching me how to style it. I've bragged about her so much, I have friends that drive from Austin just to have her cut their hair. She's also a master colorist, will keep your wine glass full, and laugh at all the videos you force her to watch while she styles your hair!! Love her and House of Dear!!

I was so excited to get an appointment here for a haircut and color! I worked with Erica and her assistant Jessica. They did a wonderful job bleaching and toning my dark brown hair to a very ashy blonde. I felt like my hair turned out well, and they were so accommodating during the entire process. At the end, they did seem a little rushed when the next client arrived, and I didn't get the full blowout and styling as expected, even after paying full price for the haircut. Additionally, the end result was over $200 more than the quote at the beginning consultation. I would have been happy to discuss changes or alternatives during the process, but they up-charged significantly (over 50%) without discussing with me. With such a big change in price point, that is my main concern. Otherwise, this is a nice salon that is clearly well-experienced. I am just hesitant about future appointments that they will up-charge significantly without clearing it with its clientele beforehand.

I had a haircut scheduled with Mimi and she did so good. I came w a few concerns (split ends, dryness). i left w exactly what i had in mind and my hair felt so much healthier. And she's really funny too haha. Absolutely loved my service, 10/10 recommend booking with her! Also, always love my time at the salon, it's always clean and beautiful!

I've been going to Tobie for my vivid colors for awhile now. And occasionally a hair trim. She always does me good. I always leave feeling so confident and vibrant. She's such a sweetheart I always feel comfortable in her hands. The salon itself is awesome. Very clean, very modern. All the other stuff that I've had the pleasure of interacting with have been very kind and helpful.

Booked an appointment 2 months in advance with Mimi for a wedding I was attending, only to find out on the day of "she doesn't do just blowouts" and refused to style my hair. So after all the research I did to find a top stylist in the area, I ended up with a $60 assistant blowout. Bad communication, bad service, and just bizarre experience. Beware.

This review is long over due. Buddy is my guy! On top of being super fun to talk to, he does a great job with my hair. I have to drive pretty far to get here, but its worth it for me to get a visit in with him AND I look so much better afterwards! If you book an appointment here, ask for Buddy!

The vibe of the people who works there is very chill and friendly. I did my hair with Ashley Bell and she gave me THE BEST haircut I had in my life. Also no hidden costs (shampoo and blowout is included in the price).

Angelo completely botched my hair.... The manager, beau, who is an absolute gem did everything he could to fix the mess! I'm really upset with how my hair turned out. I asked to debulk some existing layers and Angelo cut off a ton of my hair, the layers were not blended, choppy and extremely short. It has been a nightmare.

Messed up my appointment time then got upset I couldn't drop everything to get there right then. I ended up not being able to make it to the rescheduled appointment time bc of a conflict with my flight. It's too bad..I thought they would handle themselves more professionally and was excited to try them out.

Another fun visit with Mimi Han. I wanted to go a little shorter this time but wasn't sure. Mimi listened to what I was looking for and added her opinion. She gave me a great "shorter" haircut. I always leave Mimi loving my haircut.

Customer service was great. Easy to make an appointment. When I got there and met Mimi, she was welcoming and attentive. Mimi listened and asked questions until she figured out what I wanted and nailed it!

I have tried this place 3x now and while the stylist was very nice, she didn't listen to my ask and each time I left unhappy and out over $300/session. Very unhappy.

Immediately after checking in we were greeted by Thomas. He was easy to talk to, engaged my teen son and focused on giving top-notch curly hair advice and cut. It's a large salon, but separated into small rooms, so it wasn't too loud. Parking is on the right side and says "tenant" because the salon used to be apartments. My son is pleased with the cut and will return to Thomas.

Warm vibe and my haircuts are perfect for my wavy/curly hair. Highly recommend, especially for curls.

Holly is one of the most talented artists in the business. I was a Network Educator for Bumble&bumble and a stylist for 20 years and have seen some of the best & she is right up there at the top! The products smell amazing and the salon itself has such a cool vibe. And bonus, she has a parking lot!

From the location to the people my experience was great! Every person in the salon was sweet and I felt comfortable immediately. For the first time in my life I had a stylist who recognized that I have curly hair. Everywhere else I've been, for years, straightened my hair instead of showing me what it can do. Holly was my stylist and Jessica assisted with shampoo, drying etc. and both educated me about my hair. I now have a crush on a hair salon. Hi.

I made an appointment here for today, February 11th, and was contacted 2 days ago to confirm via phone, on February 9th. I answered the call and told them I actually wanted to reschedule and we reached a new date about 6 weeks out. I was just contacted this morning asking me where I was for the appointment. I spoke to the same employee who contacted me 2 days ago and told him this. He told me he 'had no evidence' of a reschedule even though I told him the exact times of his calls in my phone records, and I told him he ended up calling me twice because he confused me with someone else. He was dismissive of this whole story I evidently made up and he just ran my credit card for half the amount since I am a 'no show' to them. I obviously will never go here in person and will contest this with AMEX. This is how this business treats customers -- penalizing them for their own employee mistakes. Be warned.

Toya is the best! she cuts my hair to the perfect length each time when countless others have failed to understand chin length. she's uniquely able to capture what you want, looks good, and works for your hair type.

Mimi is an absolute rock star stylist. I came to her a year ago with a horribly botched haircut from another salon and not only did Mimi fix it, the cut was the best I've had. Mimi does a fantastic job with short haircuts and I've had her do pixie cuts, undercuts, and a mohawk and I've loved every cut. She's also fantastic with color and does a great job explaining what products to use and how to keep hair healthy. On top of the great hair, it's always a laidback, unpretentious vibe at the salon. I'd 100% recommend Mimi.

Have been coming here for 11 years. (And my ex-wife work ex for Toni and guy and Vidal Sassoon so she learn classic coming) I have been going to Arnold from the very beginning. He is one of the most honest, sincere person's, not to mention extremely talented, and having worked in all those other top level organizations. He will always be honest with you what could be delivered in your visit, and whether you need additional visits in case you're looking for something else. You cannot find anyone more honest, more straightforward, and ensures that you get the style /color/cut You want. Thank you for having Arnold and I can't imagine going anywhere else

I entered this wonderful light of a salon defeated and almost ready to shave my head. I have been dealing with severe illness and losing hair from nutritional deficit and other reasons. I came in to cut off as much as I could. My hair used to be one of my favorite things about me. Mimi Han(my stylist) was kind and compassionate as I told her my reason for being there. I felt heard. Before she even started her magic, she informed me that the owner Holly Dear and her Assistant Ted Hayes do scalp analysis for people struggling with hair loss. I had never heard of it. I was so open to it. All of my doctors and dietician are working on the nutrition issues, but how AWESOME that I can help my scalp topically?? Holly was warm, a ray of light, and explained everything so well. She showed me where I am losing the most, and Ted put a little camera on my scalp to show me what my scalp looked like. It was red, inflamed, and dry. She made recommendations for all natural products that will restore my scalp health. Ted explained so well how to use it and was very supportive. It can be a vulnerable thing to talk about hair loss, but Mimi, Holly, and Ted made me feel so supported. Now on the the haircut. Mimi did the DevaCurl cut on me. Her shampoo was very gentle given my scalp being irritated but still lovely. I got to the salon and looked in the mirror so sad and not really knowing whose hair I was looking at. Mimi did the cutest reveal for me to see my new hair. It is phenomenal!!!!! I am so glad I didn't shave my head. I feel so pretty. Mimi also worked late for me because I only booked a cut and had the scalp analysis also. I was the last one in the salon by far. This place is a fantastic salon, but there are much bigger things at work here and they are love and compassion. ​

This is my go-to salon in Uptown Dallas. My stylist is Thomas. I went in there with a mop of thick mangled curls that hadn't been treated in 4 months due to moving stress. He handled it like a champ. He gave me an undercut, listened to all of my preferences, and gives an amazing hair washing. Appointments seem to be readily available, the pricing is very reasonable, the space is clean and comfortable, and the desk staff is consistently pleasant. Thanks House of Dear!

I have been seeing Mimi for over a year now and she listens to you and has done an excellent job styling and coloring my hair. I have long hair and a lot of it and Mimi has done beautiful balayages and styles with my long hair still looking long but fresh!! I had a friend use Davee for a mens hair cut and beard trim and my friend is going to continue traveling to Dallas to see Davee. Needless to say, he also did an amazing job. And, on a Sunday!!! I highly recommend Mimi and Davee. The salon has a great vibe and I enjoy talking to everyone that works there when I'm getting my hair done!

I've worked with Arnold for my hair cuts and Claire for my grandmother's haircuts at this Salon and they both did great work. I thought about doing a color service and called up to ask some questions. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do so the receptionist let me know that I could come in for a consult. I did that day and was assigned JD. JD walked me pretty quickly through what balayage is and how it's applied. I had a few more questions that he answered but was disinterested. The consultation took only 10 min. I walked to the front to make an appointment. We set the appointment for a service and I left. The day of my appointment, I had a work conflict and just couldn't make it. When a new meeting is added to my calendar, it takes priority over what I have to do in my personal life that day, unfortunately. I did not get a chance to call them to re-schedule. A few days later I saw a charge for $296 on my card which indicated they had charged me for the service. I called to obtain a refund and was met with calm tone but one that did not want to come to any agreement other than " I will not refund you. This is policy. I can talk to the stylist to see if they'll apply any part of this to your next service." At this point, the customer experience was shot and I wasn't going to reschedule. I wanted a refund and not to do business again. I kept stating, "IF anyone had said, at time of scheduling, that I would be charged, I would have made an effort to walk out of my meeting and give them a call that I wasn't making it." That too was met with a lot of resistance stating " it's on our website." No other efforts were made to resolve. Well.. I wasn't on your website when I made the appointment. I was in person so how would I know that. The whole appointment process was so rushed in person. I'm sure it's policy to actually notify clients of the cancellation policy but it just wasn't done when I made my appointment.

Erica is the best!!! She knows how to work with curly hair without damaging it, and understands exactly what I'm trying to ask for. We also always have great conversations :)

5 stars so very well deserved to the entire staff! Michael is a gem, he listened to what I was seeking as a new client and recommended the dynamic duo of Jean Marie for cut and Brett for color. My hair is a curly being of her own. Sometimes she's wild in not the best way, so these two artists tamed her into compliance in the best way ever, by letting her be her, just better! My color is rich, my haircut is bouncy and I'm in love all over again. Thank you all so so much, I can't wait to see you all again!!

Dustin Dillard is a literal curl whisperer. No one has ever cut my curls in a way that ensures they are so healthy and defined. I went through a break up last year and, like many girls looking for a fresh start, went straight for the hair. It was shoulder length and my shape of choice was a mullet-y pixie, but the first woman who did it (at a different salon) didn't *really* know what she was doing. Dustin not only fixed it, attentively listening to what I wanted and repeating what I was saying back to me to make sure it was right, but he's made it progressively BETTER every time I go back. I'm pretty darn particular and don't mind saying exactly what I want. He's direct and honest and really knows his shit. I would follow this man into hell if he would keep cutting my hair.

Dustin is amazing! Loved the salon vibe and the services! The stylists are hair artists, take their time to get to know you, and give great cuts and styles. The salon is very relaxed and not stuffy at all. I will definitely be back!

I was so happy to discover this salon when I moved Uptown! I picked Dustin Dillard & I couldn't be happier! Dustin is so talented, knowledgeable, and experienced. I've been going to him for a year and I hope he never leaves! He got my vision for cut and style on my first visit and made it better than I could've ever imagined! I love all the products he recommends to keep my hair looking it's best. The guy knows his stuff and super nice to talk with. All the staff are great too! Love this place. You will feel pampered!
